Guest Reviews

- Juliane (9/5): - Everything was just as perfect as we've remembered it from a previous stay many years ago - the view, the rooms, the historic charm... loved it! The dinner tasted ok but not great value for money (portions were small and definitely much more expensive compared to the rest of Goa).

- Mark (9/5): Beautiful experience for the views and the ambience however with no beach or pool one or two nights was enough for us - The views are extraordinary and the rooms large and spacious we had “Friday suite” which included a huge terrace the experience is amazing for a bit of peace and quiet
Breakfast was excellent however one or two nights are enough as there is very limited facilities The restaurant has a very limited menu and over priced
We ate elsewhere in the evening

- Gitika (10/5): - What a beautiful property! Loved everything about this place and we will definitely be back
- Sally (10/5): Amazing heritage hotel - We absolutely loved the heritage of the property and location, it was so relaxing and all the staff were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The bed was super comfy. Plus the food was outstanding - thank you everyone! Nothing really but bedside lamps would have been useful!
- Ashutosh (8/5): Very atmospheric. Just a little more thought in the furnishings would make all the difference - Amazing location in a historic, atmospheric fort, in a commanding position and with stunning views over the sea. A pretty courtyard with its own church. Rooms with terraces. Quiet and comfortable with good food in the restaurant. The rooms are very sparsely furnished and could do with a little more comfort and thought. For example there was a desk but no chair to sit at. Also, no bedside lights for reading. It would only take a little more effort to make the stay exceptional.
- Corinna (10/5): Most beautiful small Heritage Hotel with superb Cuisine - Stunning views, beautiful furnished historical building, fortunately remote, this is why it's not crowded. Exquisite Cuisine! Exceptionally friendly and professional staff, for example Manager Michael Nothing. We had a wonderful time, extended one more night
- Soumyadeep (10/5): Whatastay - Amazing views Location too secluded
- Debbie (10/5): - We had an excellant stay at the Fort. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was lovely and spotlessly clean with views looking over the Arabian sea. The food was amazing I can recomend the cashew nut curry and the beef madallions. A lovely experience and would definately stay again.
- Nicolaus (9/5): -
- Brigitte (1/5): Awful. Never again - Very noisy. Difficult to move as too high steps
Far from everything
Restaurant only loud guests , very uncomfortable Room has a window on courtyard with lots of noise
- Tushar (10/5): It was such a beautiful place to stay with a local church inside the property. Our stay was peaceful and well managed by - People -
We were staying at the hotel on the new year eve and wanted to venture out in the night. The hotel staff really made an effort to arrange a vehicle for us so we can be safe and specially booked a table for a us in a restaurant on the busy 31st eve.
Very good experience with the manager and the local staff at the property. Made us feel safe and cared.

- Rosemary (8/5): Loved the hotel but check you bill and room rate - Loved the location, rooms very clean and restaurant excellent The billing and invoicing g was a mess and I ended up being overcharged due to mess with the bill not impressed
- Rosemary (8/5): Beautiful hotel snd the rooms snd restaurant are really great - Location is wonderful the views are amazing the rooms are so very comfortable and really great staff Some of the outside areas need updating and the leak in the reception must be a concern
- Gaurav (8/5): - Location Range of Food, Price point
- Mike (1/5): Nice enough place with friendly staff but becoming very run down - Staff very friendly! AC do not work, WiFi did not work. Taxis (which you have to use) very expensive to go anywhere!! Litter all around perimeter!
- Pratik (5/5): - The location of the hotel is fabulous the view is great no doubt the restaurant has very limited food options but they are very reasonably priced The Rooms were freshly painted and not ventilated due to which the smell of paint made our stay very uncomfortable the staff shifted us to the other room , the smell of paint in the second room was a bit less as compared to the first room .
The rooms should have been well ventilated before to the guest .
- Susanne Gupta (9/5): -

- Anshumaan (10/5): Superb location. Feel of the property is warm since it’s a heritage property. Far away from all the caios we had an amaz - Excellent location.

- Biren (10/5): Value for money - Exceptional location with great views and very good food and service A swimming pool would complete the experience
- Vikas (9/5): I live Tiracol Heritage Hotel - The scenic beauty Food is expensive and less choice for breakfast and dinner
Mosquitoes
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location, historic interest of hotel, friendly staff, good restaurant, comfortable room with great views Nothing
- Jeff (10/5): A special place to stay - Beautiful old 17th century fort sat on a clifftop with stunning views, now repurposed as a small hotel and restaurant. Great service and good food, we loved it!
- Kriti (9/5): Superb - Location. Architecture . Cleanness No spa
- Rohit (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (5/5): Passable -
- Clare (9/5): A lovely short stay in an historic building with great views.hotel happy to arrange taxis - Fort Tirol feels authentic the staff were charming and the views stunning. . Outside sitting areas. The lower amphitheatre would be perfect with comfy chairs and a sea breeze. Hire a scooter to access ferry and beach otherwise.
- Jerome (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): Truly Wonderful - Beautiful boutique Hotel in an as yet unspoiled location at the tip of Goa.
- Vishal (8/5): This hotel is for people who like to visit the goan world of susegad! - Heritage Hotel with stunning view.
1. Small Size: The small size of the hotel comes as an advantage because fewer guest, quiet time and very personalized service from the staff.
2. Location: The hotel sits on a hill with stunning views of the Keri beach and the ocean. Our suite came with a huge terrace with sun beds, etc.
3. Restaurant: The staff, the chef and the views make the dinning experience more fulfilling and relaxed. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor options. Sagar and team served us very well.
4. The reception is manned by two very young but competent Ms. Anisha & Ms. Himani. They were always on their toes from the early hours to the late evening. There is nothing to dislike. However, a smallish gym & a swimming pool would have been nice. However, this being the heritage property I think they are constrained by space and laws.
- Greenwood (10/5): Unique, beautiful, a very rare and lovely safe place with amazing 360° views of the ocean - This is a stunning seven bed historical property from the 16th century that was once owned by a maharaja and taken over by the Portuguese. Everything is beautiful to look at comfortable to be in with stunning views of the sea. You have to reach it by a ferry while it isn’t a beach to speak off or a pool, this is a perfect romantic place to stay Even if you are on your own. I was on my way to a yoga retreat and spent the night here as a soft landing it was like falling into a feather bed of beauty. Nothing
- Shilpi (10/5): Brilliant, relaxing and same what I wanted - The stay is secluded and quite with beautiful views .
- Andrew (10/5): What a fantastic introduction to Goa - The view, the staff, the food It’s a very old hotel with very old steps
- Penelope (10/5): Amazing location and magical place to stay. -
- Samantha (10/5): Amazing beautiful experience - The whole place
Everything was perfect No pool
- Clive (10/5): Excellent - It was lovely There was nothing to dislike
- Huon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roma (6/5): Pleasant -
- Girish (8/5): Very good -
- Kapil (7/5): Property needs a lot of maintenance - The Food, the views, The staff The maintenance and upkeep of the property
- Andrew (10/5): Tranquil Fort Tiracol - very interesting place to visit and stay, we had two suites for 3 days, the staff make the Fort run seamlessly 5☆
Breakfast and dinner was beautifully served as it used to be in the high end hotels.
our suites had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable..
I highly recommend a beach and Fort stay if you are heading to Goa , it's a great combination...
I would like to praise everybody at Fort Tiracol for your professionalism. I honestly couldn't fault anything
- Himman (8/5): We had a great stay and two nights was perfect. - The location is beautiful and the atmosphere transports you to another time. The staff is really friendly and helpful with great food and a delicious breakfast which is served in a dining room with a spectacular view of the river and the sea. There is nothing really not to like.
- Zaveri (7/5): Good - The staff and the location
- Jannelle (9/5): Superb -
- Kavita (9/5): Superb -
- Annachhatre (6/5): I would have stayed happily in some beach resort.tesort. - Very small hotel.
Very costly.
Aloof.
No activity in hotel.
No freez, no mineral water.
Steps hard to climb.
No inverter.
Frequently lights off.
Not worth for cost.
No beach
- Kukrety (7/5): Good - property is in outskirts and very far from main north goa Center . There are check post of both Maharashtra and Goa police and you will have to take permits to cross Maharashtra border else police guys will trouble you . Property , staff , food all are great but it’s too inconvenient to travel
- Chris (10/5): Heavenly Hotel near to Heaven. - Absolutely stunning Heritage hotel, away from the maddening crowds, totally and utterly secluded, exactly what we were looking for.Although it states this is close to Arambol, thank god it really isn't,and if Arambol is your thing, then Tiricol certainly will not be. There is nothing to dislike, other than ignorant day trip visitors who think you can see a sunset looking South, clambering near to your table in the veranda restaurant overlooking the Tiricol river, taking pictures hoping that the sun will miraculously appear setting in the south instead of the west.
- Lyndon (10/5): The perfect Goa escape :) - Stayed here after a decade and was pleasantly surprised to see the upgrade in everything from the rooms to the restaurant!
The View as always stays unbeatable!
This remains one of the prime spaces to unwind after hectic moments in the tourist zone!!
The staff have been upped to another level, not seen at Tiracol during my earlier stays!!
Way to go ... Nothing .. your so pampered, that the only effort is walking up the stairs :) :)
- Andrew (10/5): Great place to relax in an historic location. - A beautiful property with stunning views of the waters from the room and restaurant area. Elegant room. Friendly staff. It’s quite away from the beaches.
- Amit (8/5): Very good -
- Aruna (6/5): Wonderful heritage property, but read on details on how to reach in advance of your trip - A beautiful heritage property restored into a hotel, with stunning views of the beach, sunrise and sunset. The hotel staff (special mention for Sagar at The Tavern) are kind and attentive. The access to the hotel from Goa city is through a ferry from Querim, which was shut on the day of our arrival due to the low tide. Due to this, we had to take the road which goes through Maharashtra, where we got heavily fined as we didn’t know this. Even during our check out , we had to rush to catch the 11.30 am ferry as it was the last one for the day. I think the hotel should inform this to visitors in advance so they can plan their travel better.
- Ursula (10/5): Fabulous stay - Fabulous views from the room, and when dining in the restaurant. Very hospitable and well trained staff. Restaurant menu choices for vegetarians slightly limited, but enough for a short 2 or 3 day stay
- Alan (9/5): Cool and comfortable. - Ambience, comfortable, security, nearby many beach facilities,, rocky trekking , All was good for the money charged.
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Alessandro (10/5): Amazing position, great staff, peace. - Amazing position, great staff, peace. People visiting the fort on Saturday.
- Abhishu (10/5): - Very welcoming staff, awesome property. Excellent receptionist. Courteous & caring management. Will surely highly recommend this gem of a Fort heritage hotel.
- Maris (9/5): Superb -
- Jo (9/5): stunning view - the most incredible view and staff
- Sushant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beena (10/5): An absolutely delightful experience - Loved everything about the property, but a special vote of appreciation for the smiles on the faces of every member of the team...from the front office to the restaurant staff, to the security team...and the effort they took to make sure our stay was absolutely delightful. Thank you, everyone 😊 Nothing about the property as such. However, we landed at Dabolim airport so it took us a good 2 hrs+ to reach. Guests staying at this property would do well to check for flights to Manohar International Airport, which can significantly cut down travel time.
- Karen (5/5): Great for a couple of days if you are on honeymoon! - Beautiful place. Amazing views lovely food. Its NOT in Goa!! No taxis will come or go from here. Nothing nearby. Literally come here to stay in. Cost £20 to get from Arambol, which is where it’s advertised as being. In fact it’s 30
Minutes away.
No hot water, our room wasn’t cleaned and the Night staff made comments about personal items which were in our room.
- Parth (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - The staff were excellent, the waiting staff all efficient and friendly with a special shout out to Caraciol, housekeeping, the food and drinks, free drop off to the ferry.
- Kaladhar (8/5): a different but good stay - location is good different from normal or beach stays breakfast is good but limited restaurant location and views r great room spacious and view from room is good . even though there is space for car parking inside fort and adjusent to it we were asked to park some distance away . there is a small beach below fort . if a way is constructed to reach down it will be an excellent beach to fort parked our car under trees . by morning its top is full of red ants . it took considerable time and stress to clean it all
they could have allowed to park inside fort or by the side of fort where there is space for parking
- Santosh (9/5): Superb -
- Aniruddha (7/5): Very good one time experience. - Very well maintained. They have preserved the heritage vibes. Excessively priced.
- Saha.mandavi (8/5): Very good -
- Satish (8/5): Magnificent views, boutique hotel. - Very nice. But if u stay more than few days, its same n so repetitive. There is no easy transport available to ferry or any villages near by. They should maintain a riksha or similar.
- Srikanthan (10/5): A wonderful holiday - Tavern is a wonderfully located restaurant in the property with a majestic view over the estuary. The quality of items served at breakfast was superb especially the pooris . The view from the balcony of the room is astounding, You can walk down a flight of steps to be closer to the breakers and the sound of their fury is real music. Dinner had limited choice but alls well. The location of the Heritage property is a great attraction for all those who are looking for a peaceful coexistence with nature. The dinner and lunch varieties
- Nauhar (10/5): Would go back anytime! Loved the Church in the compound! - Absolutely fabulous view and the staff is superb! The chef needs to be applauded for his food No beach access around closeby!
- Siddharth (9/5): Superb -
- Domingos (8/5): Luxury Romantic Fort Stay - The suite 'Sunday' was extremely comfortable. Beautiful views of the sea and the beach. Lovely balcony sitout with a sun umbrella and 2 comfortable chairs.
The bed was super comfortable.
We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant and the service was impeccable. Kudos to the staff.
The breakfast was perfectly adequate served a la carte. The views from the restaurant too are spectacular. I would suggest using some mosquito repellent in the evening while sitting at the restaurant.
Overall a wonderful experience! The window of the toilet needs to have a net to keep mosquitoes and squirrels out, so that the window can be kept open. There is no exhaust for the toilet.
- Pawan (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing
- Anirudh (10/5): I've left a piece of my heart at Fort Tiracol! - Exceptional service, fantastic location, beautiful rooms, lovely restaurant and sumptuous food! Limited menu
- Paul (7/5): good place to see N Goa and close to airport for return to Mumbai - location was great as was local beaches not much
