Guest Reviews
- Angela.J (10/5): Fantastic place. - This is our 3rd time here and we absolutely love the location. Our room was a good size and our bed was massive 👌. We slept really well and the shower was fabulous. We had a evening meal which was so delicious, we only had continental breakfast this time as we wanted to get going but it was delicious. This place is fabulous, no faults at all.
- Debbie (8/5): A gem, with a non ambulatory wheelchair accessible room, offering a fantastic breakfast including a full vegetarian cook - Not withstanding the gravel car park the rest of the pub and accommodation was great. We used the accessible room which worked well for a non ambulatory wheelchair user. The roll in shower actually needs a shower seat. A roll in shower tells me it’s truly accessible but many of us need and prefer to transfer to a fold down shower seat.
- Graham (10/5): Perfect! - Our room with ensuite was perfect for our needs - really comfortable large room - lovely ensuite
The evening meal was very nice together with an enjoyable evening in the bar with the Landlady and her customers
The breakfast was unhurried and delicious!
- Robert (10/5): Top hospitality. - Beautifully equipped room. Christine and her long term support were most welcoming. Breakfast was top notch. Bed was excellent and the place is nice and quiet. Nothing
- Gillian (10/5): A relaxing mini break, complimented by the tasty, well cooked food. Both Christine & Jane are friendly and welcoming - The property was extremely well maintained, situated in beautiful countryside. It’s a lovely, peaceful place to stay. The rooms were comfortable, with everything you need for an overnight stay. Nothing at all.
- elizabeth (10/5): Felt like a proper home from home, but even cleaner than ours! - Spotlessly clean, loads of space in the room.
Wonderful people,plenty of parking.
Excellent food!
Will definitely go back and would highly recommend to anyone. Nothing.
- Steven (10/5): Jewel of a stay! - Such a lovely property, quaint, exceptionally clean & tastefully decorated. Breakfast was amazing! The owner & staff were so helpful & friendly. Will be back!
- Chris (10/5): Perfect Little B&B - Perfect B&B in absolute stunning surroundings. The room we stayed in was immaculate, finished to a really high standard and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! Unfortunately my partner became ill during our stay and Christine so kindly accommodated us with breakfast in the room. It was peaceful and quiet and there’s absolutely everything you need. The bar/restaurant was lovely (with a great soundtrack!) and it was a really cosy and intimate atmosphere. We really connected with Christine and she made the stay really enjoyable for us - we felt like family, not just guests! The food for our evening meal & breakfast was great, the choices are outstanding considering it’s a 2 woman operation! We will definitely be booking another stay here. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay, Christine! Chris & Steph

- Kim (10/5): Perfect! Looking at booking again already. - The Red Lion is the nicest place we have stayed. Immaculately clean in every area, beautiful setting and attention to detail was perfect.
Christine works extremely hard to maintain such a high standard. Only had breakfast , which was hot and fresh snd local produce used. N/A
- Jan (9/5): A delightful stay. Thank you! - Right from the entrance it’s pretty and spacey and inviting. The room was stylish but homely too. Details of the room were well-thought out like the light pull cover in the bathroom. It was light and airy. The host was polite and breakfast was so efficient and delicious. Shower was a pleasure.
I’d pay more knowing what it’s like. I’m splitting hairs here, but the toilet roll holder is slightly loose and drops a little. King size bed would be ideal but neither of the above would make me not come back.
- Nathan (10/5): -

- Denise (10/5): Excellent for a base when visiting Lincolnshire. - Perfect location for a trip to RAF Conningsby. Plenty of parking available too. The room was a good size with an en-suite bathroom. It was very clean and fresh, with water, tea & coffee also supplied. The food at breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of items available. I had my dinner there on both nights and again, there was a varied menu available.

Exceptionally clean. The accessible room was one of the best we’ve stayed in, well thought out.
Food very good with generous helpings. Nothing
- Robert (10/5): What a gem! - Christine was a brilliant host and made us feel very welcome and at home. She was ably assisted by Chef Jane who served up two wonderful evening meals as well as fabulous breakfasts. Of course, not forgetting Crumble the German Shepherd who stole the show. The room with ensuite was superb. It took our breath away when we walked in and was spotlessly clean. A lovely location for exploring this part of Lincolnshire. Louth was nice and the coastal beaches from Mablethorpe down to north of Skegness were very nice (less said about Skeggy the better!!). Gunby Hall (just a couple of miles away and a National Trust treasure) was well worth the visit. Overall, a most enjoyable two night stay and we cant wait to make a return visit. Nothing - it was perfect (though a little bit of sunshine might have added to things).
- Ruth (10/5): Went above and beyond to help! - We were having a bit of a family emergency with more than 1 person being taken to hospital. This meant that we were likely going to miss check in. Christine was so lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate my husband’s delay and upgraded his room for free, giving him a much needed extra comfy rest after a difficult day.
Breakfast was amazing too !
Thank you so much- we will definitely be back soon!
Would highly recommend to anyone staying in this lovely part of Lincs.
- Douglas (10/5): Luxury at an affordable price - We liked everything about the hotel. The service was second to none. There was nothing to dislike about the hotel
- Ian (10/5): - Very welcoming, lovely comfortable room and wonderful breakfast. The garden is perfect on a sunny day.
- Tania (10/5): Would absolutely recommend. - Location tick
Facilities double tick
Breakfast double tick
We were attending a family funeral, but the host was so welcoming. She was able to provide answers to all our questions about the area, times, and directions for getting to the chapel that we decided to do a dummy run the day before, which helped tremendously.
We were not local, and after a 5-hour journey up, it took away some of the worry.
At breakfast, she gave us a potted history of the building, which also, for a brief period of time, gave respite from the plans of the day ahead. Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -
