Shower drain clogging so you were swimming in water after a short shower, shower glass screen removed and not replaced so water splashed everywhere! Water leaking down a wall onto entry wall. Clean but torn pillowcase. No bottled drinking water. Kettle but no tea or coffee. Cafe not operating, and boxes stacked on counters. Not sure if they are renovating but generally the place very messy. Noisy night club across road and a new Bollywood style nightclub opening right next to it on 1 Sept. not ideal for sleeping. Good location and 5 mins walk to plenty of eating halls and cafes…. 5 mins walk to night markets that operate 7pm - 1am 7 days a week.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location was excellent! Near the famous Dim Sum places and excellent food stores. However, this hotel has a very bad insect problem. We got bit by mosquitoes in the lobby. The rooms (we booked 2 room) had a very bad ant and case worm problem. We bought pastries and left them on the table, and within half an hour, it was covered in ants! Even though we tied the food up, the ants bit a hole in the plastic bag. When we 1st arrived, the corridor lighting leading to one of the rooms was not turned on and made the walk into that room very creepy and spooky. The rooms also does not have a tissue box, u got to bring your own. If you want to stay at this hotel, you have to be the non fussy sort. Otherwise, the rooms had very nice thick towels and the biggest toilet ever

They could maybe improve on the outlook of the lobby outside the rooms. It was eerie walking from the lift to the rooms especially coz I was in block B. Otherwise, it was worth the price and very convenient to go around the city.

Was told that it was not booked earlier, then the intended room size booked was not available . Although there were some "remedies", the family ended up in 2 separate rooms instead of the big family room for 5 pple.
- Yong (4/5): - I booked one room for my mom for 2 nights stay at the hotel, but when checking in the hote staff fail to find the details of my mom where I already stated the guest name is under my mom's name, end up my mom waited for half an hour for the staff to clarify. However the staff manage to upgrade the room for my mom(though she not really like the upgraded room ><) but better than none. So service in overall is moderate.

- Jess (8/5): - Location of the Hotel is convenient to go everywhere by foot. When we reach the hotel, we are told that the room we book is down due to the airconditioning, thus they 'upgrade' us to a bigger room, we agree but when we arrive to our room, one queen mattress is on the floor and its smaller than expected. Also, the Room Facilities not so good, the toilet is pretty dark(we have old people) and the metal rack where the place the towel basically rust and cause our towel to be stained, i have to call the reception to get more new towels. Staff is very responsive and helpful. Generally is the condition of the room.

Bathing soap in very small minature bottles, difficulted to squeeze them out and not sweet smelling. Not recommended and will never stay again. Bad experience.

Was having bad experience from my stay due to following reasons: 1. The room does not even have floor tile or carpet. It looks so dirty and disgusting to stay there. 2. Not hot shower during my stay 3. Mattress seems damage. Definitely a bad quality mattress 4. Bedsheet looks dirty. It feels like no one was staying there for a while The only good thing. it is in good location, but does you could definitely find more better hotel in the same area.

- Jimmy (6/5): Ok for short stay. Not for pleasure trip. - Purchased a Family Quad. The room was smaller than a standard room in other hotels. Floor have no finishing except the carpet at the center. However, Carpet was thin and not properly installed. It was placed there like a door mat. You can literally kicked it and tripped. Wifi connection was poor and speed is another disappointment. We end up purchase mobile data ourselves but it is a vain too because the area doesn't have 4G connection.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable hotel with good location and nice deco - We rented two deluxe twin rooms, one was pretty comfortable, the other had air conditioning problems which was looked into and fixed straight away by the hotel. The location is great, we didn't realise until a few hours later that the restaurants were just 5 minutes walk away. The bathroom was spacious with a rain showerhead. We felt the matted floor felt a bit sticky in some places (maybe because of the material of the mat). Perhaps the hotel can provide slippers for use in the room. Additionally, there was no place to put toiletries in the shower area.

Overall stayed in the hotel not up to standard as recommended by others. 1) Got ants crawling around the mattress 2) pillow too soft 3) housekeeping is a joke for me. Someone in the hotel call us want to make up the room or not . We answer please help to make up and they said ok. However, during night time back to hotel the room and that is no ppl come in to do housekeeping. if is this case, please don't give a call to guest to make inquiry. This only make thing worse. 4) During day 1 stayed no problem for water supply during shower. But Day 2 got water supply that almost no water come out from shower rose. After make complain to Reception and they only said will check it but never improved. Really disappointed. Overall stayed is really disappointed. Alots of stuffs need to be improved.

Staff - Our room, 103 has a burst pipe and they had it fixed right away. even offered us a cup of tea while waiting. Room Service - no appropriate checklist. only one slipper for room of two. no floor mat replacement after taking away the used one.

- Arthur YW (8/5): Convenient little hotel - We booked a Deluxe twin but when the front desk saw that our son is tall for his age, they upgraded us to a Family Quad. Unfortunately our room has no windows! Wish that they have shower curtains as well. There are limited car parks in the back of the building but lucky for us, we didn't have any issue getting a spot. The hotel is fairly convenient to many of the great Ipoh food - about 10-15 min walk. Better to park the car at the hotel and walk. Ipoh's best dimsum restaurants are all around the corner - 5 min walk. Concubine Lane is slightly further away about 20 min walk. Our UBER ride was only Rm4 from there!

- Meng Sun (4/5): Great location. Hotel is less than desirable - The Hotel is right smack in the middle of old Ipoh. 5 minutes from Ming Court and 10 min walk away from yummy tong sui kai. We stayed in a Family Quad but the room does not have a window. Kids never realise how much they missed the sunlight in the morning until we stayed in the room. The furniture is in a very sad state. The shower drain was blocked and i had to open up and clean the hair out. The shower wall was not cleaned. There were stains on the bedsheets. The room walls were paper thin and we could hear the conversation from our neighbour room and I am sure they can hear our kids as well. No one told us about renovation right upstairs and we had to get out of the hotel by 8 am till 6pm. Overall, it is a great location, close to all the food scene but the room was less than desirable for a family of 4.

They should have not put us next to the rooms being renovated! Toilet is not clean...the water remains stagnant when you bathe. There was no mineral water instead there is a bottle of water which we dare not drink & no fridge. For a family room simple amenities should be included. Im not recommending this hotel at the moment that they are renovating perhaps suitable to people who can tolerate the noise of renovation.

Parking was a bit of a problem during the day as it was very limited. However, due to the location of the hotel, this issue is understandable. Only problem, toilet has no tap under the shower area ( only rain shower), it's quite difficult to do simple washing. Also, no screen to separate the shower & wash basin, the floor will be all wet after each shower. Air con & wifi is good. No option of breakfast provided. But, no problem as there are so many places that can have the famous tasty breakfast in Ipoh

- Verified traveler (4/5): Nice looking hotel with poor cleanliness - The bed was dirty, can find hairs on the bed. When i first entered the toilet, it smelled like someone just finished using the toilet as the smell was still there. Really need some improvements on the cleanliness.
- Nicholas (8/5): Zen Z - Modern, cheap hotel close to everything. Quiet environment. Good bathroom with rainforest shower.
- Caroline (6/5): Z Hotel Ipoh - The hotel was just ok. I had a deluxe twin which only I aka one person stayed in. The twin is too small. The sheets are not clean, there were stains and marks on the covers. Found bits of hair etc on the bed and pillows when I slept. The toilet was inconvenient, there was no divider between the toilet and rain shower. So, the toilet will always be wet after the shower is used. If there was 2 people and since it is a twin, most will assume that 2 will use the room, it will not be suitable and totally inconvenient. For the shower, there was only a rain shower, there was no alternative like a flexible shower hose. The power points were inconvenient, there was no powerpt in the cupboard which housed the kettle, and no suitable xtra powerpt in the room to boil water. Having said all this, I have to compliment the staff Dickson and Jelita. The hotel seems v short staff and these 2 were mainly running the show.
- Dan (6/5): ok for 1-2 nights if no alternativs - Looks unfinished. Very low value for money, so nit planning to return.
