Guest Reviews
- Leslie (10/5): - This is my all-time favorite hotel in the entire country. Only a 25-minute drive to dauphin Island. Some of the most delicious food you will eat about 5 minutes down the road. The Little couple that owns this hotel are the sweetest people that you could ever meet. If you're wanting to get a weekend away and have a nice quiet day on the beach I suggest staying at this hotel. They are super friendly. Super clean. And totally worth it
- Anita Mallory (2/5): - The check in process was easy. Got up to the room and a smell hit me; mildew and fresh paint. Thank God there was a dollar general near by. I had to buy air fresheners for that smell. There was also dust all over everything. The tv NEVER worked. My group of three never could connect to the WiFi, the curtains didn’t fit the whole window so, anyone could have peaked in on us while we were sleeping. SEVERAL plug ins in the room didn’t work. There was a microwave but, it also didn’t work. One of the lamps in the room had the plug in part completely cut off. I went to unpack my bag and opened the dresser drawers, someone else had left a pink hair dye stains towel wadded up with some other clothes that had been there SO LONG, it looked like you could crack it in half. Idk, I didn’t touch it. When I called the manager about my issues, he came to my room and pushed some buttons on the tv. He turned and looked at me and said he’d be right back. I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. He didn’t even address the dirty clothes or the smell of the room. I understand I didn’t pay a whole lot for the room but my expectations were already low. This place shattered those LOW expectations by miles. There were some workers who were working in something but, they made a HUGE mess of the parking lot. Nails, pieces of sharp metal, pieces of vinyl siding EVERYWHERE. If I wasn’t an honest person, I could have easily stepped on a nail and sued this man but, I’m not like that. I paid VERY CLOSE attention.
- Andrew (8/5): - Hotel setup was great staff helped me out tremendously
- Terrence (4/5): - Hotel is not in very good condition. It was inexpensive, but needs a lot of repairs and upgrades, and wasn’t very clean. Front desk rarely there to resolve issues etc…
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was terribly rundown. Hair and mold in tub & shower curtain. Smeared mirrors. Dilapidated furniture. The only things clean were towels and sheets.
- Olivia (4/5): - We didn’t have a trash can to put our trash in, the shower was disgusting and the roof was covered in water damage. Okay for just a 1 night stay for the price but definitely would not recommend for a multiple night stay. When we went to check in there was a dog that ran at us barking to the front desk check in. Even though there were signs everywhere that said no pets.
- Georgina (10/5): Fab little motel - Fab little motel, although dated in a charming way, the room was clean with lovely fluffy towels and excellent air conditioning.
- U1837CXjamesl (2/5): Awful, sad, disgusting - This was nastiest place I've ever stayed at. Nothing was clean. Tv didn't work, we put towels on the chairs so we could sit. Sheets were hairy. The bathroom looked like crap. There was blood on the tub & door. The pillows were flat. One was super flat. The floor was extremely dirty hadn't ever been moped. I don't recommend anyone staying at this place. They have a no return policy which with rooms like that there should be.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice stay - Motel has new owners, who are working hard to redo all room.
- SUSAN (8/5): - Clean room and quiet area. Comfortable bed. Good deal for a budget.
- James (2/5): - TV didn’t work, door didn’t lock. Got over charged - no refund. Moved rooms; both were dirty.
- Cynthia (8/5): - The room was filty
- Cameron (2/5): - Ehh
- Greg (6/5): - If you're looking for a cheap place to sleep, then this meets that need. But if you need amenities and accommodating staff, keep looking. We had four people in our party but we got 3 bath towels. When I asked the owner for more towels, he asked how many people we had. Even after being told there were four, he would only give us 3 towels. The satellite didn't work and the shower barely got hot. I guess for $75 a night, that should have been expected.
- Willa (4/5): -
This property could best be rated at 1.5 stars (maybe)
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Furniture left outside partially covered in plastic and very worn. Outside doors to rooms appeared to have mold/mildew on them. Rooms smelled like mold and mildew. Did not wish to stay and left. Courteous front desk but do not recommend. Health Inspector needs to visit.
- Richard (6/5): - The rooms were ok, but the outside is quite run down. Rusty doors and stairs. Internet was barely existent at all. The manager was a nice guy and did as much as he could.
- Mark (4/5): - very rundown only the floors have been replaced paint peeling off walls and doors
- Andre (4/5): - The lady at the service desk was the only highlight.
Bed was clean enough, but couldn’t shower as there was no hot water.
Faucets doesn’t work properly.
Coffee machine has not been cleaned for a long time. Old molded bags left in the machine.
No toilet paper.
No coffee.
No refrigerator.
Door falling apart.
- Paul (8/5): - Location
- Billie (4/5): - The staff was phenomenal. The hotel is a bit run down and we had no hot water but it was clean for what it was
- Thomas (2/5): - Needs to be condemned
- Johnathon (2/5): - Gggfg
- kadence (2/5): - .
- shelby (2/5): - The only thing we appreciated was the lady at the front. The manager would not give us our money back after the first night and before it was time for check in again. The property is run down and had crack heads running drugs all night. Was scared to go to sleep because I didn’t want anything happening to our car. Never again.
- Rapid (2/5): bad experience - once i got on the hotel they try to steel my bag and also there were people outside smoking weed
- Jeff (8/5): - It was very clean and the staff were super nice.....the water was brown-ish and there were weird noises like water running behind the walls. Overall it was a fine place to stay. The water kind of cleared by day two
- Brandon (2/5): - Called a week in advance to cancel and gave me the run around. Put you on hold and will never pick up again. I tried to cancel for FIVE days straight and they would only say, let put you on hold while I find the number. So I paid for 2 days and didn't stay bc after I booked my friends told me it wasn't a safe place for me to leave my boat.
- Sheila (2/5): - This is the nastiest and ran down motel I have ever stayed at. I went to the store to buy towels because the ones they supplied had orange stains all over them. We only slept there for one night but paid for two. My whole family slept on top of the covers because they felt that was the cleanest part of the bed sheets. This place is a $25 a night place at most. Complete trash and I mean that. I did not talk to the staff about it because there was no point. This place is nasty and I feel Travelocity should stop marketing this motel.
- Lesa (6/5): - Great location, new flooring, new furniture & new bedding. The staff is very helpful. Exterior of building sidewalks & parking lots are full of cig butts and desperately need blown off or picked up. Ice machine inopt. Hotel has tons of potential. Curbside cleanliness & appeal are lacking. Lobby is very inviting though. Would be great if breakfast was served. I Would’ve paid more money per night for that convenience.
- Charles or Samantha (2/5): - Hair was on the pillow cases and bath tub wasn’t clean and the lady at the front desk entered our room that morning while still asleep luckily the top door latch caught her since she used her keycard to enter around 8:30 that morning why I have no clue she new we wasn’t check out yet bc it wasn’t 11:00 yet
- Kylie (4/5): - Get What You Pay For
- Mallorie (6/5): - I wouldn't stay here again. The photos are deceiving because the place isn't that nice. The rooms are dirty.
- Eric (6/5): Is what it is - This is a very old hotel. My expectations were not very high. I chose it for the location. I did have to request that the sheets be changed upon arrival which they did. Everyone was very courteous. It was very quiet. The properties going to need major updates at some point soon.
- Stephanie (6/5): - The staff was friendly. The coffeepot in the room was not cleaned out from other people who stayed there. The shower was ok. No breakfast.
- Michael (4/5): - Out of the way, I can get a better breakfast from the homeless. I would not call what they served breakfast a snack maybe.
- Daniel (2/5): Give my money back! - I wish I had taken photos. The place looked like they tried to update it, but forgot to clean it...ever. the room had construction dust all over it. Their were old drinks still left in the fridge, old soap in the shower. Pubic hair all over the toilet and counter next to the sink. The floor was dirty with old food and hair all over it. The pillows felt like they were wrapped in trash bags and almost impossible to sleep on. The curtain rodwas broken and hanging off the wall and barely ccovered the window. Many holes in the walls that should have been addressed when they were "remodelling". I alerted the manager to the issues, while we were gone to get dinner, it looked like he went in to address some of the issue, but didnt, he just pulled the old drinks and soap out, put them in a trash bag and left them on the floor and sprayed a cleaner of somekind with a strong scent, but it didnt look like he actually cleaned anything. This goes beyond just improving attention detail...
- Georgann (4/5): - When we arrived a paper note on the door indicated there would be NO refunds Period. Motel is older and in need of repairs. Once inside the room was large enough but not very clean. It did appear that the owners were attempting to make improvements but over all not a place I'd stay again
- Deb (10/5): - Overall a really nice location. Clean, the beds are really soft and was able to get good nights sleep before heading 18 hours home. We will be back!
- Andrew (8/5): - Good value clean comfortable. Good deal in this area.
- Denise (2/5): - Really rough and in disrepair. Saw the property in person and decided not to stay even though could not get a refund. Drove 45 minutes and got a different place.
- Denise (2/5): - Was not expecting anything fancy but I am truly shocked that this building has not been condemned. The shower spigots are coming out of the walls, the towels are stained, everything inside is rusted.
I booked the wrong night while standing at the front desk and the staff refused to change the date of my reservation. Expedia tried to call and they refused to answer the phone. These are not nice people and the place is a dump.
- Dessiree (10/5): - Very kind and helpful. Quiet
- Desi (10/5): - Very quiet and peaceful
- Freda (4/5): - Literally chunky filth stuck to the floor. Everything in the room was unclean. The beds were super comfy though. And I was so tired I just didn’t look to see if they were clean or not. There were no other options in the area. And it was cheap.
- Desi (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable
- Hermann (10/5): - Sehr zuvorkommender, freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Service am Front Desk.
- Shawn (10/5): - We stayed for two nights. Beds were very comfortable. Room was clean. The staff was very nice and provided everything we needed.
Owners are revamping hotel. Will be excited to see the end results.
- Monique (2/5): - The front desk lady was very friendly but the hotel itself is in poor condition.
- David (4/5): - There was no continental breakfast, although that was advertised. The floors were greasy, as though they hadn’t been mopped for several days (linoleum). The pillows on the bed had sofa pillow covers with fleece backing - not-bed pillow cases. They are obviously not washed between uses. Stay away
- Brian (2/5): - I didn’t stay there. The pictures that are on the website are misleading, it doesn’t look great at all in person
- Toby (2/5): - Bayou la batre not so suite. No hot water. No safety latch on the door,it had been broken off. No seal on the door, smoke from neighbor rolled right in. I had 2 nights booked...only stayed 1. Not good
- Elecia (2/5): - Manager entered my room unannounced.. says he didn’t realize the room was occupied but he was lying
- Peggy D (8/5): - They had new owners and was remodeling the rooms, the rooms was very cute and I loved the furnishings in the room and I really liked the wood floors. I wish they would have had an Iron and Ironing board in the rooms and a hair dryer I had to run to town and pick up one because I was there for two nights. But overall I had a great stay & Everything was very neat and clean.
- Lendy (4/5): Receptionist made it worth while - There is no pool. The “update” was not really updated. The only good part of the stay was the lady at the front desk was amazing, but everything else was terrible.
- KEVIN D (8/5): - Rooms themselves aren't bad, but outside is horrible. No amenities whatsoever, but for the cost you could do way worse.
- Kevin (8/5): - The property is undergoing a renovation. When finished it will be a good value for the price.
- B8596CRcherylp (2/5): Don't stay here - They have false advertising, no refrigerator or laundry. Not a cozy atmosphere. Rented for a week and sorry we did. No refrigerator or microwave, no trash cans. No maid service to get room cleaned or towels. If you are looking for an over priced plain room with a tv it has that. Wish we had kept going and not stopped at this horrible place. Beds uncomfortable and pillows are flat. Don't waste your money or time.
