- Mandisa (8/5): Culinary trip was worth the stay, the rooms are a bit dated but still comfortable. The area is quiet wet and can be a li - It's in an estate so no worries about security. They have animals roaming around the estate so no walking out after hours, found it a bit unsettling as a non animal enthusiast.
- KD (9/5): - Impeccable, the best romantic destination! 8 course dinner was a new experience first for us. .
- Belinda (9/5): Such a special experience - Beautiful location, incredible design of the hotel Nothing
- Alvina (10/5): Amazing stay! - The room was very spacious and tranquil. We enjoyed the sounds of the animals in the background and especially enjoyed the jacuzzi. Dinner was amazing and we had in room spa treatments that just added to the best stay. There is nothing that we didn’t like.

- Roxburgh (10/5): An Unforgettable Birthday Experience - An Unforgettable Birthday Experience at Forum Homini Boutique Hotel
From the moment we arrived at Forum Homini, we knew this was not going to be “just another hotel stay” — it was going to be an experience. And what an unforgettable one it turned out to be.
We spent my birthday weekend here, and every single detail exceeded our expectations. The staff were nothing short of exceptional — warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. That level of care is rare, and it did not go unnoticed.
Our suite was simply breathtaking. The luxurious spa bath, paired with a perfectly clean and consistently warm jacuzzi, created the most relaxing and indulgent atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the in-room couples’ massage — such a thoughtful and intimate touch that made the experience even more memorable.
Dining at Roots Restaurant was, without exaggeration, one of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had. As true food lovers with a passion for wine, we were completely blown away. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the flavour combinations were bold, creative, and perfectly balanced — we didn’t need to add a single pinch of salt or pepper.
What truly sets this experience apart is how the food tells a story. From the nostalgic elements woven into the dishes to the playful yet refined execution, we were transported back to childhood in the most elegant way. A standout for us was the breakfast — a gourmet take on what felt like comforting childhood favourites, including something reminiscent of warm wheat porridge with chocolate chips, elevated to fine dining standards. Even the desserts, with delicate touches like rock candy, added a sense of wonder and nostalgia.
Beyond the hotel itself, the natural surroundings are just as magical. The peaceful rivers and dams, along with wildlife like hippos and buck roaming the property, create a serene, almost storybook-like setting.

The location on the Letamo game farm was ideal, alot of animals to view. The room was very large and all the details were taken care of. Attention to detail was appreciated. Staff were amazing. Nothing comes to mind

- de Kock (9/5): Amazing retreat to solitude in nature! - Location of rooms with views over the fields and creek is relaxing. Spa in the room was amazing, so nice to relax with nature so close. Dinner was good, experiencing what the chef has created was great! Front door needs a proper stay, it kept slamming shut from the wind when we preferred to keep it open for the breeze. Light above the jacuzzi is extremely bright in your eyes at night, with no option to dim or switch it off.
- Sipho (9/5): Excellent short visit. Food was amazing -

- Ushmita (10/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful
Ice sent to the room without having to request
Relaxing atmospheric Breakfast can be improved
A porter service on checkin would be great, instead of expecting the receptionist to assist with luggage
The price of accommodation can be reviewed, they are more expensive than other similar establishments, would visit again if more cost effective

- Wayne (10/5): This was a special birthday event and we were treated like royalty. Added small touches that was done makes a superb dif - Beautiful setting and very different to normal hotels. Nothing
- James (8/5): - The whole experience was excellent. The bed pillows were very uncomfortable!
- Lesedi (10/5): A wonderful solo birthday spent! - Calm, spacious. Luxury in the bush and not too far from joburg
- Mthembu (7/5): It was a lovely stay, serene, with good food and stuff and being surrounded by nature. A very memorable experience ☺️ - I liked the concept of the place, being in nature (sort of living in a cave, but a luxurious cave🤭) and the food was amazing, together with the staff (they made us feel important). Loved the restaurant’s aesthetics, the pond next to it and romantic vibes it gives. The hotel is very pricey, and the furniture (together with appliances) used in the rooms in my opinion is outdated (especially if I am going to pay a high price then I believe those things should be of higher quality and range). I would have loved to have more accessories like an iron, etc just to feel at home.
- Gomez (8/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): - Food was amazing
- Lesego (8/5): A beautiful place that I would visit again and again and again - The whole hotel is peaceful and a great place to unwind and regroup. The hotel rooms are very private and so spacious The food is not the greatest. The oats was too sweet and the lamb meat was too salty. The eggs come with some spice that was just not necessary. Sometimes simplicity is the best elegance.
- Anthony (9/5): Luxury honeymoon suite for peace and privacy combined with fine dining and excellent service - Honeymoon suite. Beautiful room, nicer than the photos. Very secluded and quiet. We organized a few extras which were executed well, if perhaps a little expensive. The picnic was superb and done better than expected, highly recommended. Staff were a pleasure at all times. Chef catered for some very specific dietary restrictions we had (no gluten, limited meats etc.) and served tailored meals along with the normal 5-course dinner and breakfast. Thinus was especially attentive and efficient at all times. A couple of maintenance issues in the room These were mostly resolved during the stay, and the curtain rail issue could only be done after we left which was understandable.
- Keshan (9/5): Would stay there again and again - The room was spacious and very luxurious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent Nothing
- Chanel Van Niekerk (9/5): Overall a great experience, lovely rooms and amenities and good food. Thanks for making it special! - The room was amazing and had everything you might need available. It was clean, neat, comfortable and well designed. We had privacy, drinks, good coffee, water and small little gestures that made the stay memorable. The food was really good and the 5 course dinner was a great experience. The delay between the courses felt a bit long and here the staff could have check in more often for drinks which they didn't, so it felt like you just sat there and waited for something to happen. We wanted to ask for a second bottle of wine but no one came and when we did have service of our next course, we were already ready to rather retire to our room. So maybe a but more personal attendance at the restaurant :-)

- Kay Mlisana (9/5): -
- Nadine (9/5): A blissful, peaceful, wonderful escape ! - The staff were friendly, accommodating and willing to help with anything! I had the most wonderful restful weekend
Breakfast was delicious and exciting.
The rooms are so comfortable and the personal touches were so meangful I didn't feel comfortable walking too far out - it seems the local residents are not fans of wandering tourists so while I was hoping to have a nice long meander, I was a little worried about being questioned or encountering a hippo!
- Promise (9/5): Great place for peace of mind - The esthetics and the peace of the place. The rooms are amazing, the architecture is amazing. The staff were great and they attend to all your needs. The fine dining was great with such a great pace and not rushed. We enjoyed the 5 course dinner. The bed has 2 single mattress and the spacing in between is hard making the bed uncomfortable. The breakfast set menu is not my favorite as we had a spicy egg on consecutive days, just needed to have a choice and variety on breakfast. There was a loud music from a nearby place.
- Fryer (10/5): Absolutely fabulous. - Forum Homini's secret weapon is definitely Roots restaurant. The food was exceptional and we couldn't wait to sit down to the five course supper every night. There are no walking trails within the reserve even though it's a residential reserve. It would be great if it could be arranged for the guests to be able to walk on the roads in the reserve.
- Van den Berg (10/5): The staff are excellent. The food is exceptional, and the accommodations are amazing - The staff are professional and friendly. The dinner was probably some of the best food we have ever had, and the accommodations were extremely clean and exceptionally beautiful.

- Andrew (10/5): Love. Nothing but infinite love ❤️. - Alles.
- bennett (10/5): -
- K A Morrison (10/5): Quirky and unique - great location for the cradle and a fab restaurant. - This hotel was a delight from start to finish. You are greeted at the car when you park and as you walk to reception, your guide tells you about the art and history that you pass on the way.
The check in is quick and then you go to your amazing cave-room. Our room was utterly delightful - well appointed and the decor is truly unique, including the 'stalac-lights!' The bathroom is huge with a glass-ceilinged walk in shower section that can open to the outdoors. Molton Brown toiletries are supplied. We had a hot tub as well as a large indoor spa-bath, and the view out was lovely, with waterbuck, springbok, wildebees and impala wandering past.
Breakfast is served on the restaurant deck overlooking the dam and is a three course affair. We certainly were fortified for the day.
The hotel is located in the Cradle of humankind and it was really easy for us to access the various attractions in the area.
- Jan (8/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - From reception right through to our room, everyone was very welcoming. The experience in the restaurant was amazing. Nothing

- Greg (10/5): A magical experience away from the chaos that is day-to-day living - I loved the peace and quiet that the hotel managed to offer.
While finer-dining is not really my forte, it was truly excellent as an exploration of flavours and textures.
The facilities were clean and wonderful, the staff made it absolutely magical. There is not a whole lot I can put over here since everything was absolutely tip top, I am already itching to get back there

Staff were amazing too.. our second time staying over Bath in room 3 is starting to crack

Room felt a bit dusty
Tv can be upgraded- outdated

- Craig (10/5): -
- Gwala (9/5): Lovely - Facilities, staff friendliness and customer service, Chrismi’s hospitality, everything Maybe the restaurant can ask what type of egg they can make instead of automatic fried eff every morning
