Guest Reviews
- Superteos (2/5): Never more... - We stayed in January for pleasure, and we booked based on the photos, which I don't really know what hotel room they were.
Upon our arrival, the room was freezing, and the gentleman at the front desk simply told us to turn on the heating, I was expecting a warm room in January, so we had to wait in a restaurant for the temperature to return to normal.
The second day, we pointed out that the room had not been cleaned and always the same gentleman pointed out to us that with a discounted rate (255 euros 3 nights) we had no right to cleaning ... but at the Carrefour near the hotel we could find everything we needed to do them.
On the contrary the manager was very courteous, but I don't think we will return and we will not recommend it.
- BuggerLugs99 (6/5): Comfortable stay for 2 nights. - Stayed in serviced apartment in this hotel; no frills, decent accommodation close to centre of town with well-priced parking. Town not particularly pleasant, with lots of beggars - some rather aggressive. War museum very good. Plenty of good restaurants and bars.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, ideally located - The hotel is located some 200 meter from the Grand Place (city center) with a lot of terraces and restaurants. A Carrefour is around the corner if you wish to make your own breakfast. Although a hotel there was all the stuff needed to make your own breakfast and washing up. You can get breakfast at the hotel as well. Room was spacious as was the bathroom, all nice and clean.
Parking can be done in the inner-court of the hotel at 2 euro per car (or per 2 motorbikes in our case).
Mons/Bergen is a friendly place with some sightseeing to be done. The Mons memorial museum is certainly worth to go to, especially if your interested in war history.
- christian (10/5): très bon rapport qualité prix - Très grand studio, aménagé; avec goût et très confortable; studio en loft avec tous les équipements;
- Antonio (8/5): Nice budget option - Reasonable comfort for a budget price. Hopefully someday the bathrooms will be refurbished, they are not bad but have this old look that makes them looks like they are not good, even if they work fine.
- 77Vasiliki (8/5): Great location - The location was great, very close to the city center. The stuff was very kind and helpful. The room was bright and clean but it could be a little bigger in order to have more space to leave the luggage and fit one more chair.
- ypressalientfundi (8/5): Good Hotel (from Crawley UK resident) - Earlier this month, I spent 8 days here, my second visit. I took a studio, which was located on one of the stone buildings across the courtyard from the main hotel. This allowed me to spread out and be more comfortable than in a standard room.
Situated just sixty metres south of the Grand Place, the hotel is very clean. Staff members Camille, Eddy and Sam were as friendly and helpful as always. Breakfasts are of the standard Continental variety, comprising croissants, breads, ham, cheeses, scrambled eggs + coffee, tea etc, but was more than adequate for my needs.
Normally very quiet, there was an incident one night with four noisy residents talking loudly well into the night. The matter was dealt with efficiently and there was no recurrence.
I'm returning there in 2018.
- Steve (10/5): - Discretly located very close to Grand Place. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful old building with modern interior. Plus a very good breakfast.
- Betweenthebars (6/5): Location and parking. - Stayed here with my two kids in a "three bed room" which was in a separate building across the car park from the main hotel. Before opening the door of the building the smell of cigarettes was overpowering. The entire building smelled like a dank bar. The room was clean, minus the smell. It was an odd setup, though. We would've been fine with a two double room, but were given that instead. The staff are incredibly friendly and the location is really what seals it. Having lived in Mons for 2 years, I had had friends and family stay at the hotel before, but in the actual hotel building itself, which seemed like a straight-forward decent place. The location from the hotel to the Grand Place (and other sites/locations in Mons) is spitting distance, and seeing as this is really the only hotel in Mons (that isn't dodgy or by the train station..), can't complain TOO much. It's a place to sleep, that's all you need.
- Christian (10/5): Hotel review - Nice hotel, great sercice, nice room, good food
- PaulB829 (8/5): Site Visit - On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, off road parking which is charged for, the hotel is clean and looks professional situated in the centre of Mons with easy access to the restaurants and bars.
The room (66) is a ground floor location, on entry I found it to be spacious and clean with high ceiling and large windows, the bed is comfortable and at least Queen sized.
A quite nights sleep was achieved and breakfast in the morning was plentiful with its selection of food.
This hotel whether for business or private I would recommend to anyone.
- toontastico (10/5): Awesome Hotel !! - Very friendly Hotel, gorgeaus room ideally situated for the town centre...We stay in a lot of hotels and I would say this is one of the best! I work in the industry myself and this place is truly exceptional for a budget hotel! will return in shot ! Thank You Info tel :-)
- LindaGuirey (8/5): Great room, good location, on site parking, friendly staff. - Very good handy location, good breakfast with quite a few options, on site secure parking which was really helpful and very friendly staff. Room was a good size and we could have stayed longer. Loved the city.
- Mark (8/5): Great location & clean - We were given a small suite which was great and unexpected. It was on the second floor and there's no lift so it wouldn't suit an American. Room was clean, receptionists were cheary and helpful. Buffet breakfast costs €13.
- MJWMAN (8/5): Good hotel and a great location. - Info hotel has a fantastic central location only a few steps away from the main square.
It is no luxury hotel but on the other hand it is very clean, comfortable and friendly.
Also to get one with parking so central is great too.
The only disappointment was the breakfast, which while adequate was not my idea of 13€ worth.
Overall a good place for a few days in Mons.
- G542DOianh (8/5): Fantastic location - Nicely located hotel a few steps from the main square. Rooms a small but well done (also includes tea/coffee in room very rare on the continent). One thing we were not aware of before we arrived was a charge for the car park.
Can be difficult to find the hotel.
We agree with another reviewer in regards to the reception staff, very friendly and helpful
- Anyoneout (10/5): Perfect hotel for location. - We stayed here for a week in a double room. At first there was a problem with mosquitos but we bought a spray can and that was sorted. The location could not have been better. We travelled on a motorbike and e secure parking was a Godsend. Staff are multilingual and very friendly. We didn't partake of the breakfast but it was always busy and I heard no complaints. We'll stay there again. Recommended!
- spitfire892 (8/5): A centrally situated budget hotel - We stayed here for 2 nights in June, centrally located with plenty of places to eat around. A no frills but reasonably comfortable hotel at a good price. Parking included which was a bonus in a city centre. Special mention and thanks to the young lady on reception - In atrocious weather on our way from Calais to Mons our luggage which was in a waterproof bag on the rear of our car got soaked right through and she assisted us by drying it and returning it to us neatly folded and when asked how much, she said we had to pay with a smile, thank you!
- mljsmith (8/5): Good clean hotel, in excellent location - Rooms, basic but clean and everything there you could want. The breakfast was very good choice.
Staff were excellent, and very helpful, they gave free maps, and advice.
The chocolates in bowl by reception are really yummy.
- Holly Canada (10/5): Right downtown. Awesome - Room was huge, mattress left a lot to be desired. Very springy. Needs to be replaced or have a topper put on it.
- fbruces2014 (8/5): Comfortable and close - Friendly staff, comfortable room with standard amenities. Located about 100m from the Grand Place, the Infotel is in the heart of shopping and a 2 minute walk to the sun - soaked terraces by the Grand Place. The Infotel receptionist made sure that I had the latest city brochures including a walking tour map of Mons. A great experience with friendly service and reasonable rates.
- PATMANUKA (8/5): Nice and Sheap hotel near the grand place - Nice and Sheap hotel near the grand place of Mons ,good breakfast and very nice people who will serve you well ,i recommand ,very clean , and only at 50meters from the bars and restaurants :parking is nice and private
- 452rajb (6/5): Near to centre - This place has plenty of parking and is reasonable price. Breakfast is fair and some rooms are better than others. We stayed in room 65 which is ground floor within the second building across from reception. The room was clean and tidy and looked like it had a recent refurb. The other rooms on the ground floor although clean and tidy had bathrooms that were a little tired. We stayed one night traveling through ut was no hardship and would not mind staying here again due to its central location and extensive off street parkiing.
Overall it was plesent stay with pleasant reception staff and breakfast team.
- ebleta (8/5): Very good, in the centre of town - Very close to grand plaza, mini Carrefour just round the corner,15 min walk to the train st. Staff speaks English. Room was very big, clean with mini fridge and even a cooker- not sure if all rooms got it. Would stay again.didnt have breakfast so can't tell.
- Scott-Karen01 (10/5): Two month stay in their large Apart 'hotel - The Apart' Hotel rooms at the Infotel is an excellent option for any long stay in Mons. Two bedrooms, a large living area, and a small kitchen provide everything you need while looking for your permanant residence or visiting family in Mons. You are only steps away from all the bars and restaurants in the Grand Place. A perfect spot to explore Mons and discover all the things the city offers. The hotel offers free and very safe parking. Our room has a private entrance with it's own lift. The staff all speak English and are very friendly. I feel lucky we found the Hotel Infotel and highly recommend the large Apart' Hotel room. I have not seen the regular rooms, but for a short visit, the location and service would make it a can't miss. One final note: this is not the place for people who expect a luxury hotel, but it is a clean and very friendly one.
- ChristineE106 (6/5): Good Location - This hotel is just a few minutes walk to the centre and has its own free private car park. The room is quite basic but clean and quiet. The staff were pleasant. We did not have breakfast at the hotel as there is a lovely cafe just around the corner. Good one stay for the price and location.
- duncanw885 (10/5): Good value & convenient - Modern hotel with basic but good facilities in the centre of this historic town. Free parking on site is a real plus. The staff all speak English and are very helpful, but are obviously not paid enough to provide a patron service. Breakfast good, if a little expensive.
