- Paul Jan (9/5): super - Het hotel wordt gerund door een enthousiaste en betrokken Nepalees. Omdat onze vlucht geannuleerd was en we daardoor problemen hadden, belde de eigenaar meerdere malen voor ons met de luchtvaartmaatschappij om alles recht te zetten. Het zette zich echt voor ons in en er was niets te veel voor hem. We zijn echt super blij dat hij ons zo heeft geholpen anders hadden wij het nooit voor elkaar gekregen om ons geld terug te krijgen. De luchtvaartmaatschappij zei namelijk tegen ons dat we een alternatieve keuze hadden gemaakt, en ga dan maar eens uitleggen dat dat niet zo is. O ja en de kamer was ook fijn. goede airco die weinig geluid maakt.

- David (10/5): - I booked Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel for just one night, but I truly wished I could stay longer. The staff were excellent, very friendly, and always helpful. The bed was very comfortable, and I was happy to receive a room upgrade with a beautiful city view. What I loved most about this hotel was the rooftop bar and the fast internet speed, which was a huge plus point for working online. Special thanks to Anup for his great selection of drinks at the bar that made the evenings refreshing and enjoyable. I really wish I had stayed longer. Looking forward to returning again in the near future. See you soo

- Louise (10/5): I have stayed here in 2019, 2024 and 2026 and always had a great stay. Prabin and the staff are very welcoming - The location is fabulous. In the heart of Thamel, but down a little side street so you are away from the noise of the Main Street. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are clean and of good size with attached bathrooms. The rooftop bar is a great space to sit back and unwind. The breakfast options were great. Prabin and his team are fabulous and made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed my chats with Prabin and see how passionate he is about guest services at this hotel. Only that I could not stay longer due to my busy schedule. But I will be back.

Special thanks to the main manager, Pranin Shah, for the warm hospitality 🙏 They even upgraded my room to a higher category without changing the price — such a lovely surprise! The hotel is clean, authentic, and located on the edge of Thamel: quiet and peaceful, yet only a 5–10 minute walk to the center. There’s also a beautiful rooftop restaurant where you can enjoy the views — a perfect place to relax and unwind 🌄✨ The staff helped me book a bus to Pokhara and were ready to assist with trekking as well. I’m very happy with my stay and highly recommend this place. If you want to feel at home, this is it! 🏡💛 Everything was excellent!🥰

Some major attractions are within walking distance such as Hanuman Dhoka, Dharahara and Palace museum. Although central in location, it is quiet and peaceful. Excellent service. The hospitality here is truly exceptional, and a huge part of that is thanks to the manager, Pravin Shah, who went out of his way to make my stay wonderful from the very beginning. I arrived on a very early flight, exhausted, and Pravin kindly arranged an early check-in, which made such a difference. Throughout my stay he was consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful, always checking in to make sure everything was going well. I was also surprised with an impromptu room upgrade, which was incredibly generous and so appreciated. The location is perfect — right in Thamel, close to everything and very accessible, but without the constant noise and chaos. It felt like a calm retreat while still being right in the heart of things. Breakfast was another highlight: a really good spread, with plenty of choice and a great way to start the day. I enjoyed my stay so much that I came back again, which I think says it all. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kasthumdinap Boutique Hostel to anyone visiting Kathmandu — warm, welcoming, comfortable, and run by people who truly care.

- Belinda (10/5): Wonderful stay at Kasthamandap! - The staff are wonderfully welcoming, helpful and attentive. On top of all the usual things - clean rooms, great location and amenities - the staff have just made this visit exceptional. Special shout out to Prabin who gave me some tips on hiking in the Himalayas and calmed my nerves about that trek. The team also gave me an upgrade which was much appreciated. No negatives to report! Great experience.

En het personeel was zo vriendelijk en behulpzaam voelden ons direct helemaal welkom. Na de lange reis naar nepal werden we echt warm ontvangen en dit maakte het direct fijn. Echt niets op aan te merken.

Nos invitaron un día a toda la familia a desayunar cuando nos ibamos. Super atentos y las habitaciones grandes y cómodas. La limpieza de las habitaciones podría haber estado un poco mejor. Y el mantenimiento de los baños mejorable.

- Manon (8/5): Joli hôtel très agréable - L'hôtel est très charmant, bien situé dans une rue plutôt calme. Le personnel est adorable ! Toujours souriants, ils demandent toujours si l'on va bien, quels sont nos projets de la journée etc. Vraiment très gentils. On a pu discuter un peu du pays c'est chouette. Les chambres sont très belles, on s'y sent bien. On a été surclassés à notre arrivée car peu de monde donc la chambre était plus grande, avec petit frigo donc top. Les petits-déjeuner sont variés et très bons. En tant que personne qui mange sucré le matin en tout cas c'était appréciable ! Merci pour avoir rendu notre venue à Katmandou agréable. Il est assez mal insonorisé mais si les gens sont respectueux ça ne pose pas de soucis comme le lieu est plutôt calme. Lit un peu mou mais confortable. Il faut attendre un moment pour avoir de l'eau chaude et il n'y a pas de pression. Mais je crois que pour le Népal c'est un peu la norme, voir mieux. Rien de grave donc !

AC and hot water working well. Very clean. Quiet. Good buffet breakfast for USD 5 - juice, fruits, cereal, sausages, hash brown, baked beans, pancake, croissants, Danish etc. Tea coffee too. Eggs need to pay extra. Room had cigarette smoke smell.

- Frank (10/5): - This hotel felt like a little home away from home. The staff make it a point to make you feel comfortable and happy. Even though the bathroom had some leaks and the bed wasn’t the greatest, I will stay here again. It is very convenient because you are close to Thamel without being in the hectic area. I walked everywhere and did not need a car unless to go to the temples. Other than that I loved the food options nearby specially the Massala Beads cafe this is a must try and it’s only 5 mins away walking.
