Guest Reviews
- Wayne (8/5): Great overnight location, lovely and spacious and great breakfast - make sure you tick the “inclusive” box - Location, size of rooms and amazing breakfast. Bathrooms were well appointed and the hotel was full of countryside character Heat…the rooms were overwhelmingly hot, little ventilation and no fans (found out we could’ve requested one when checking out, why not just leave in the room?)
- Susan (10/5): -
- Angela (9/5): Enjoying, hotel was lovely - Cost matched the food available Car park locked at 10pm on the Sunday.
- James (6/5): -
- c (10/5): - Beautifully maintained building and fabulous gardens. All the staff were friendly and helpful....nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb Beautifully presented and served with a smile. The room we had was stunning and exactly as shown in the pictures. Carparking was secure. The walk into town was around 20mins and very easy.
- Julie (9/5): -
- Inga (7/5): - Location Could hear people walking above the room. Was waking up during the night
- David (9/5): A good friendly welcoming staff - The service Nothing
- Forks (10/5): - Everything eas really nice ,the room was very clean and warm,we had a meal and that was amazing ,nice grounds and veiws, very quiet
- Alison (10/5): Excellent - would recommend and will return - I wasn’t expecting anything special and booked at the last minute for a business trip. V personal welcome and bed was super comfy with high quality linen. Food was of a very high standard, v fresh and delicious. All staff were so friendly and helpful and it felt like a privately owned establishment rather than a chain hotel Nothing

- Jennifer (10/5): Exceeded all expectations. Worth every penny. We will definitely be back! - Very helpful and friendly staff. Food in the restaurant was delicious in a lovely setting. Decor in the room was a little dated.
- Mariusz (10/5): -
- Amy (7/5): Good little place location wise and comfortable enough for a short stay. Book a bigger or deluxe room as sound proofing - Good location - not far from Sainsbury’s & Starbucks which helps when you’re travelling for work.
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful - couldn’t fault them and would return for this reason alone.
Breakfast is good - great choice of cooked & continental options.
Dinner is also pretty good, too but you do hear a microwave dinging a lot which makes me wonder if stuff is re heated and not cooked fresh but I could be wrong. It is very old decor and feels a bit like it’s stuck in the 70s. The furniture could do with an upgrade, lot of cobwebs in rooms and corners.
Bar has limited wine options but it’s quite small - personal preference so may not bother anyone else.
Stayed twice and on the last stay, could hear the person on one side snoring whilst the other side had heavy feet stomping around. Sound proofing definitely needs improving and would request to not stay in that room again.

Good food - Very good and welcoming staff and throughout, in the restaurant and bar - friendly, efficient and professional - nice outdoor sunken garden area for a post dinner drink on a warm evening. Having requested a quiet room we were in one overlooking the main road going past the hotel. It didn't matter that much, only there for one night and we both slept "ok" - just thought we should let you know.
- Gillian (8/5): Nice hotel with lovely staff - The staff are lovely and very accommodating. I requested a quiet room and was very happy with the room we were allocated. We only had breakfast at the hotel but it was very good.

- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful setting. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast and lovely beer garden. Big spacious room.
- Mark (7/5): Pretty average overall - Our evening meal was excellent, most of the staff are excellent but the black haired barmade was difficult and made it hard to order from or be served. The outdoor space is good but not used to full advantage. Our room was good but there was only one towel which was rectified and one window was locked,it was a roasting night,I didnt sleep. This is a lovely building but creeks as you walk around. Our breakfast was good but the coffee machine didn’t work properly so I tried but ended up not drinking it.We had a good sized double bed was ok but pillows too soft .
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely facilities, great staff

- Geoffrey (6/5): The rooms looked a little tired. Plus a pair of socks from the previous guest we found on the floor - Staff Helpful. Great location, very quiet. A decent cup of Coffee with breakfast . AN expresso machine was just standing in the corner, and WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS FOR DINNER GUEST ONLY.
WE did not have a walk in shower, so we had to climb into the bath, which did not have any GRAB rails. PLUS the hot water was extremely HOT, and WILL cause injury .
