- Carl (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): A good stay and would return again. - Breakfast was very good and hotel was picked because of the location for work travel. In regard to purchasing an evening meal ⌠the starters and sweetâs were expensive for what they were. The window in room 18 wants new seals (quite a draft blowing through)
- Trevor (10/5): Comfortable & value for money - Lovely gardens & a lovely friendly welcome Nothing
- Lori (10/5): Quiet location with charm and appeal - Had some difficulty finding it at first, but once we did, we were happy. It's in a quiet location. Lots of stairs, but that was to be expected, so we only brought in what we needed for the night. Room was well appointed and comfortable. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner, but we did for breakfast the next morning. No complaints! Staff was friendly and helpful. All was good!
- Monaghan (8/5): - Convenient location N/A
- 101martynl (10/5): Beautiful and Friendly - Lovely and cozy, very caring staff who go out their way. Location is quiet and easy to get to with beautiful gardens. The room was quiet even though a wedding was taken place. Also dog friendly. Breakfast was fantastic and great value for money. Will definitely be staying again!

Had to carry my suitcase up two flights of very narrow stairs. No lift.
Waited at reception for at least 20 min to check in along with others...no one available at reception to do the check in. Terrible meal in the in house restaurant.

- Tom (7/5): - The breakfast was very good with a very nice ambience to the restaurant. The room was nice and clean with the staff helpful. The shower tray didn't drain properly. There was some sort of air conditioning unit that made a lot of noise outside of our window which made sleeping a little difficult.
- Robert (9/5): Fabulous staff, couldnât be more friendly! - Friendly, warm and well appointed. Nothing
- Z4273ZDmargaretd (10/5): Wonderful stay at Strathaven Hotel - Strathaven Hotel I have been many times before but never stayed went with 2 friends to an event and stayed the night absolutely wonderful so quiet and comfortable. We were in the restaurant for dinner and booked breakfast both were amazing. No complaints and would absolutely recommend. Staff lovely and ready to help rooms spotless. Worth a visit.
- Carl (9/5): - Very hospitable
Great restaurant
- DizAlba (10/5): Great food and brilliant service - We dined as two couples on the evening of Friday 23rd January for a birthday night out. All of our food was lovely. Prawn cocktail plus onion rings (from the sides) as starters was not cheap, but generous and worth the price. I'm not a steak chick but the others' steaks looked cooked exactly as ordered and my cod and chorizo dish was delicious. No complaints about desserts. What made a great night out brilliant was our main server, Debbie, who was full of fun and took our cheeky company in her stride. Many thanks to Debbie and everyone who greeted us front of house, you are pros, as well as your excellent chefs. It's about an hour down the road from us but we'd happily come back to you for more.
- Londondestination (10/5): âââââ A great experience for our family at Sunday Lunch - We had a really lovely Sunday lunch at the Strathaven Hotel. The food was genuinely excellent â fresh, well presented, and full of flavour. Morganâs team looked after us so well throughout; friendly, attentive, and on the ball without ever feeling intrusive. It made the whole afternoon feel relaxed and enjoyable. Already looking forward to our next visit.
- Karen (6/5): Staff really friendly & nice but service slow - The building looked lovely as it was all light up but couldnt see people as it was dark when i arrived. The bedroom wasnât very clean, mirror in room not clean & dust on lamp shades etc.
Bathroom had a terrible sewage smell & hair cuttings & Punic hair on floor.
- James (10/5): Superb Staff - The nicest staff I have met at any Hotel - an absolute credit to the Hotel.
From the minute I arrived nothing was too much trouble and everyone was incredibly polite, helpful and nice.
Very rare today, especially at many hotels i stay at, would recommend and will be back 100% Nothing
- Paul (10/5): -
- Stewart (7/5): Good location and adequate for a one night stay - Ease of booking, ease of check-in, breakfast. Unfortunate the waitress spilled a pint over me soaking my trousers, jumper etc to a level that I had to change. It was only after complaining that somewhat reluctantly the hotel took the price of the pint off the bill.
- Iain (8/5): -
- Vacationer710805 (10/5): Quite simply the best wedding venue led by the best events manager in Scotland - We had our wedding at the hotel on Saturday 27th December 2025 and it was everything we had hoped it would be - and more!
From our initial meeting with Morgan and the team until lights out after the band finished, the team were absolutely outstanding! They guided us so wisely and took full ownership of ensuring our dream day lived up to expectations. Thank-you.
Anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue and a team you can trust before, during and after the wedding, look no further than the Strathaven Hotel.

The location was exactly as expected There was a wedding coming up next day and there were hours of noise from tables and chairs being dragged to their required location.
- Grant (10/5): A fantastic stay I would highly recommend this hotel - Breakfast was fantastic Nothing, I enjoyed everything

- Marian (10/5): Food, drinks service and staff were all excellent. If I had to say a negative it would be the cost of drinks - Absolutely everything Wasnât anything I didnât like
- Julia (7/5): Strathaven stop over - Great restaurant dinner, staff were pleasant. Not great pillows but I know it's difficult to suit everyone. Generally the hotel felt like it needed a bit of tlc, paint, carpets etc looking tired.
- Enright (8/5): We would be happy to go back again - Lovely place and staff great friendly people Nothing was right what we wanted on the night to relax
- Jane (10/5): Great stay - Everything Nothing
- Dave (8/5): Comfortable stay - Staff were fantastic. Food in restaurant was great. Comfortable stay.
- Gillian (9/5): Must visit in the area! Comfortable with great food - The welcome was so warm and friendly. The first impression of the building was beautiful and very well decorated. We then had hot drinks and cake whilst we played a boardgame. Excellent coffee and hot chocolate and the cakes were so tasty. We then relaxed in our comfortable and quiet room before dinner.
Dinner was absolutely delicious, would happily come back just for the food. The same standard of food was served at breakfast. We didn't have any issues with anything. Overall a great stay

- Simon (8/5): -
- Ruth (8/5): Wedding overnight stay. Nice room but some polishing needed. - Saying for a wedding so nice to be on site. Room was comfortable and decent size. Corridors were very hot but thankfully room not too warm. Room 17 has two huge iron burns on carpet. Would have been nice to have been mentioned at the least as took shine off the room. The shower screen could do with a spray of bleach at bottom as was a bit mouldy - rest of bathroom was spotless and toiletries had a nice smell. A soap dish would be a nice addition.
No one on reception when we left and no key drop.
- Lynn (10/5): - The restaurant and bar were fantastic, staff so helpful and kind, beautiful setting and comfortable bed.
My only complaint was tiny bathroom. 5 stars for sure!
- Alastair (10/5): A great location. - Such a fantastic welcome. I had an evening meal in the bar; the food was excellent and at a great price. The breakfast menu was terrific and set me up for the day. Received a great recommendation for taxi travel to Motherwell. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
- Ian (9/5): Traditional and Friendly - A very clean and comfortable Hotel. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was really good.
- Arthur (9/5): Enjoyable - Everything A bit pricey.
- Elspeth (10/5): A wonderful hotel with super professional yet friendly and warm staff. - Lovely building, which has a fresh and inviting interior. The staff were faultless-friendly, professional, so helpful and made our stay extra special. The food was very good and our endless coffees were always quickly served up. No complaints. Can highly recommend.
- June (8/5): - The room was just done up it was very nice but there was an old sash window that rattled all night you could see day light out the bottom of it and the draft was terrible .
- Mike (10/5): Mid week business trip at very friendly hotel - Great location, cosy and comfortable , superb staff in particular, Louis ..
- Richard (9/5): Great hotel - Excellent restaurant and staff.
- Bergmom (10/5): A Hidden Gem - The Strathaven Hotel is a hidden gem! A beautiful old manor house, wonderfully kept up and very clean, with a wonderful restaurant and excellent staff, especially Lisa! We stayed in several places during our Scotland/Ireland trip, and this was one of our favorite places!
- Eva (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - Strathaven Hotel EXCEEDED our expectations! Beautiful rooms and the staff were PHENOMENAL- so kind and helpful! Lisa was absolutely amazing! The whole hotel and grounds were lovely, and the restaurant was superb. Parking was easy and ample. Our included breakfast was so impressive- with multiple choices, large portions, and so delicious. We had several meals in the restaurant, and it was some of the best food we had during our entire UK vacation. Would love to stay here again someday! As Americans, we're not used to the "open" shower in the bathroom, and learned quickly to not leave our clothes or shoes on the bathroom floor so as to stay dry!
