Guest Reviews
- Tyler (10/5): It was a great stay will come again - Secluded, quiet, view. Tub is amazing. Fridge in room runs loud. Beds a little low
- Alex (10/5): Beautiful suite, highly recommend - Beautiful and quiet place to stay, still walking distance into Tofino. The place is very well equipped, even better than expected!
- Poliquin (9/5): - great location for anyone looking for a quiet place to stay while close to Ucluelet's main attractions. The place is spacious, nice/modern bathroom. The place could use a dresser since there is NO CLOSET to hang your clothes.

- FANNY (9/5): Séjour confortable au cœur de la Nature - Chambre spacieuse, confortable et bien décorée
Environnement superbe, dans la nature.

- Philip (10/5): Overall a cozy stay in the serenity of Ukee’s charming peninsula - I liked the view, the big bath tub jacuzzi though we only used it once, and having the fireplace going in the evening was a great touch. Bed was comfy (we are pretty good at scouting the places with the most comfortable beds. Our host even made us breakfast one morning, fresh waffles with butter, jam and maple syrup options. Thanks for the great stay! Everything was perfect.
- Lisa (10/5): - A stunning location in Ucluelet and with the town being so small it was easy to get around. Our room was gorgeous, super clean and comfortable with everything we could want. The breakfast provided was delicious and we even had fresh waffles one morning. We would absolutely recommend staying at Hyphocus Inn
- Guest (10/5): The perfect romantic getaway, would absolutely stay again in the future! - We had the most amazing stay. The Rainforest Loft was unbelievably beautiful and so romantic. We loved the view, the super comfortable bed and pillows, and most of all the fireplace. It was so quiet and peaceful at night, the location was amazing. The absolutely perfect getaway! Nothing--it was perfect.
- Rylee (10/5): Great host and beautiful views - Hyphocus Inn was great - it had beautiful room and views! Benoit even brought us homemade waffles one morning. Would definitely stay here again
- Danielle (10/5): Quaint and beautiful must stay in Ucluelet - Benoît was the perfect host! We spent lots of time outside during the days when we were in Ucluelet, so when we were at Benoît’s place it was the prime opportunity to relax.
He communicated the important details in advance of our arrival and then on our arrival he greeted us and showed us our room and the property.
The home was clearly crafted by people who care about function and beauty. From the heated bathroom floors and to the cedar scented entryway, every little detail was well planned and executed.
We enjoyed all the little touches, but we also found the bed extremely comfortable. It was silent (something that can’t be said for all beds in short term rentals), and the sheets were cozy. Absolutely everything in the space was clean - and that’s coming from someone with very high standards for cleanliness.
In the fridge, we each had a prepared breakfast of yogurt and homemade granola for the two mornings we were there, as well as coffee and tea (and milk!) and fruit. And if that weren’t enough, Benoît prepared us a warm waffle breakfast on our second morning, it was incredibly kind and such a cherry on top.
We were so happy with our stay nestled in the lush green trees, and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ucluelet or Tofino (much more quaint than many of the accommodations I’ve seen in Tofino). Honestly, every detail was considered from towels, to locally sourced bath products, to homemade snacks, to bear spray. Benoît puts so much care into the guest experience, it was such a delight to be his guest.
- Natalie (10/5): Lovely property…highly recommend. - Location was perfect for exploring the area. Nice view. Very clean and comfortable. Easy communication/checkin. Nice touch to include coffee, yogurt, granola and fruit for breakfast.
- Sisouthonh (Tony) (9/5): Warm and cozy place! - Spacious, quiet, warm and cottage feel, very private setting, fire place and hot spa bath. Home made breakfast that’s individual prepared and left in the fridge. The host prepares warm waffles breakfast on the last day! Lack the sunlight due to the house situated under the trees canopies. No microwave or toaster but the host provides the toaster after I asked for one.
- Marie (10/5): -
- Christine (10/5): -
- Judith (10/5): Would definitely return - Fantastic view over the estuary from the balcony. Lovely breakfast museli and fruit yoghurts in fridge, and bowl of fruit left for us. Didn't have time to use the hot tub!
- Fergus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marlene (10/5): First time staying on Island coast was enjoyable and scenic. - Location, good accomodation
- Herbert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarbaree (10/5): Amazing stay in beautiful Ucluelet. - The deluxe suite was beautiful! The design was thoughtful and very warm and inviting. It was very clean and comfortable and Benoit provided a healthy breakfast. Overall one of the best inns I have stayed in. I would highly recommend a stay here.
- Maciej (8/5): very nice service; perfect place to relax -
- Kaitlin (10/5): The perfect Pacific rainforest getaway! - The Hyphocus Inn is in a beautiful location with plenty of incredible scenery and wildlife. During our stay we saw bears, deer, eagles, and lots of other birds. Benoît was an excellent host. He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, including a few trays of delicious homemade waffles delivered to our door in the mornings. The room was also stocked with yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, and a selection of tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable, as was the selection of furniture in the room. There's also a powerful Dyson fan than can provide both hot and cool air to ensure the room is at your correct comfort level. We would absolutely stay here again! Just a small thing to note, if you are very sensitive to noise, you may be better off booking the upper suite as it is possible to hear noise in the lower suite when people move around their room.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing accommodation in a perfect, quiet location. Benoît is helpful, kind, and just a really good guy. Bring slippers or big socks as the place did get kind of cool, especially at night (we stayed in July).
- Karen (10/5): Very secluded, enjoyable, breakfast was healthy, fresh waffles available each morning, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, nut m - The host, Benoit, was very friendly and helpful. He made the directions and checkin easy. As it turned out, he was there to greet us in the evening when we arrived. Beautiful quiet location surrounded by forest and water view from the LR window. We saw deer on the first morning in plain sight. We loved the calm, serene feel of the accommodation, great bed, comfortable furnishings, fireplace. No closet space or platform for a suitcase.
- Anonymous (9/5): Cosy place with a nice view and a well organized room. - The room is huge, well organized and bright. I enjoyed the breakfast which was available in the well furnished snack corner as the offered pancakes. The area is really calm and well reachable by car and there is a nice view from the room to the surrounding woods. Maybe sometimes a little bit fresh depending on the wather, but there a with a wood reserve is available.
- Charlotte (10/5): It was wonderful! - The host was very welcoming and kind. He gave good recommendations for things to do in town. Room was nice and clean. Beautiful decorations and amazing location. We loved the fireplace and views. Good and healthy breakfast too. Would definitely stay here again! No complaints
- Fiona (1/5): If we had known... - Great wifi and T.V. It was a big disappointment. We were guesrs at the qween bed suite. The "balcony" is tiny and dark, there's no sea view, no curtains on the windows so the light wakes you up at 6 AM, and there's no sound insulation between floors—guests above are literally walking on your head. Getting in and out of the shower/jacuzzi is quite dangerous for anyone who's not very young ,There are fleas in the bed,we are all bitten up. We booked with breakfast included. The breakfast is just yogurt with granola, and if you ask, the owner will make a waffle. There's no microwave, only a small coffee machine and a little fridge. Had we known in advance that these were the conditions, we wouldn’t have booked that place.
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional - What an stunning location, with a view over an inlet surrounded by trees. We stayed in the Rainforest Loft and absolutely loved the design - we used the fireplace every night, and the bathroom was luxurious. The sitting area was beautiful, as we observed jays, eagles, warblers, and herons right from the window (and we made great use of the sound system with a good selection of CDs!).
Perhaps a tap where the utensils and fridge are located would help, but it was not a big deal. Would highly recommended this lovely spot.
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Wonderful view. Excellent location. Perfect couple room.
- Carla (10/5): Amazing - The place is amazing!!! For breakfast, we have fresh and natural products and delicious fruits.
Benoit is a good host, very attentive and very friendly :)
And the place is big and comfortable, big jacuzzi and clean towels, from our window we can see deer
We left happy and are looking forward to coming back again.
- Pia (10/5): Fireplace and spa bath combo made for a very cozy, relaxing stay. - Though the media offerings (TV, music) were outdated, we didn't mind at all. Between the fireplace, spa bath, and marsh views from the living room - the ambience lent itself to disconnecting from tech and connecting with each other.
There was a lot of natural light through various windows BUT no blinds or curtains - we didn't mind being in sync with the sun but you may want to pack an eye cover/mask if you're a light-sensitive sleeper. Only minor things distracted from the general vibe - for example, a missing tile in the bathroom spa which was covered with wood instead.
- Kelly (10/5): It was great! Thanks Ben! - The deers and herons right outside the windows. Nothing
- Dow (8/5): Very good -
- Morton (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - Beautiful place to stay. The bath tub is luxury!
Lovely quiet location.
- Sean (9/5): Hidden gem - Location. Location. Location.
Awesome hidden-away creekside gem, close to West coast beaches and near enough to walk into town for food. Just fabulous. All fantastic. If there could have been another tap in the area where the fridge is, that'd be great, but that's just nit-picking.
- Ryley (10/5): Fantastic room with a nice view close to hiking trails. - Great location and view
- Calliopeem (6/5): Nice location and beautiful unit, but cold and lacks service - - The unit is beautiful with a large balcony overlooking the forest
- Nice, comfortable living room.
- The bed is comfortable and everything is clean.
- The jaccuzzi is amazing to relax in.
- Breakfast was not exceptional, just alright, with oatmeal and yogurt left in the fridge. - The whole unit was cold and we had no way of controlling the heat. We let them know, but nothing was done about it, so we felt quite cold during the whole stay - it impacted the fun of the jaccuzi nights.
- There isn't a kitchen really, not even a microwave or outdoor BBQ.
- We were told if we ran out of clean dishes, we could bring the dirty ones and clean ones would be replaced. The clean dishes were never brought, so we spent the last two days with one knife and one spoon, made it difficult to have breakfasts together.
- Dominique (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed our six nights very much. The owner was most kind and helpful. My wife said it was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The interior design, decoration and paintings were selected with good taste and the room smelled always good. We would have been happy to stay even longer.
- Joanna (9/5): Superb -
- Emerson (10/5): We had a wonderful stay here. The host, Ben, always tended to our needs and kept the place really tidy. We would definit - Located in the quiet side of town and situated close to nature. You can see birds and other critters on the delta outfront. The room was spacious and had a nice layout. The wood fireplace was fantastic. There’s several space to park your vehicle. Also a short drive from the Wild Pacific Trail. We liked everything about it!
- Donna (9/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay located in the perfect setting. - A home away from home. Very comfortable & relaxing setting with a beautiful spa, fireplace, and delicious breakfast surrounded by a forest. Much attention to detail and a friendly and responsive host. Thank you Benoit!
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Room was spacious, clean, well appointed. Restricted hours for use of jetted tub meant we weren't able to use that as we were leaving early in the mornings for activities, and arriving back late in the evening after dinner and the use hours were posted as 10am to 9pm, which was not advertised in advance.
- Fabian (9/5): Very good place, would recommend for everyone! - Nature based location
Big rooms, awesome spa, Thin walls
- Felix (8/5): Very good - Good size studio. Nothing bad stood out. It was ok.
- Rod (8/5): Very good - Benoit had super granola and yogurt apportioned and waiting in the fridge. The jet tub and shower were a bonus to the heated tile floor. This a very relaxing B n B of fir finishing and a view of the ocean inlet through the trees. It would have been nice to have more of a kitchen area for food prep. However, Benoit is in the middle of renovating so hyphocus will only be better.
- Ralf (10/5): Great place! -
- Terrence (9/5): Superb - The owner was super freindly and welcoming. He gave us a couple tips for a hike and some restaurants to check out and they were all awesome.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hyphocus and would recommend to others for a short or longer stay. - The location was great! Nice quiet woodsy atmosphere just on the edge of town. Rainforest suite has a lovely deck that overlooks the water that ebbed and flowed with the tide. We liked the wholesome oats/granola, yogurt and oat milk left for breakfast. Fresh fruit was a bonus. Spa feel to the bathroom and heated floors! It would be nice to have a light outside our entry door. Perhaps a sharp knife to cut fruit or other foods brought in, and regular drinking glasses. Logs provided for fireplace, a nice touch but were very smokey after the paper burn off.
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (9/5): Amazing location and a super nice room that was well appointed - The location was in a quiet spot partially in a small forest overlooking a stream I’m being picky but it would have been nice to have a microwave
- Simcha (10/5): Exceptional - Really lovely place to stay to enjoy Ucluelet. Beautiful view from the window with deer walking by. Feels secluded, while only minutes away from trails, beaches, and restaurants. N/A
- Angela (9/5): Superb - Host was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Great to have a continental breakfast included. The room is bright, clean and spacious. Nice in the evening to be able to have a fire in the fireplace. And to soak in a jetted tub is always a welcome after a day of hiking and beach combing.
- Bos (10/5): Everything we needed for a short stay was provided and the room was very clean. Nice views. - The location was prime, out of the busy town. The view out of the window was gorgeous. The host was accommodating to us arriving late and the room was quite clean and felt very earthy and warm, a great stay. Could use a microwave
- Michele (5/5): It was adequate for the price. Nothing to heat food up. Obviously, if you are looking for a west coast experience from y - Privacy Poor signage. Bad driveway
- Joe (8/5): We love this place and have been here many times before and would love to continue retuning. This was an anniversary tri - I love the setting in the forest, and I also like the jetted tub. Kevin is a very welcoming and friendly host. The tub keeps draining even with the plug. Could use actual firewood instead of a 2.5hr burning Duralog. There was no filters for the included coffee grounds and I miss the breakfast that used to be included. I feel like being charged $300+ for middle of November stay is a bit much for what the room is.
- Trish (9/5): This was a lovely place to stay, private yet close to the town and the town amenities. - The room was lovely, the fireplace was fantastic, the sitting area was great and private. The view over the water was beautiful.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Sofiya (8/5): Hyphocus Inn is a hidden gem, very peaceful and surrounded by nature. - Minimalist design and being surrounded by nature. Real wood fireplace in the suite was a special bonus, and very easy to start.
- Pat (9/5): Loved it....and great hosts gave us really helpful info - Beautifully appointed room One light needed repair. Blinds were a bit cranky
- R (6/5): Expensive for what it is. - The bed was comfortable and there was a jacuzzi bath & robes. The kettle & coffee maker were packed into the cupboard. No mugs (small cups), no complimentary milk (was small pots of creamer) no welcoming biscuits/cookies. All a bit mean for £200/night. There wasn't a surface to have kettle and coffee maker out to enable easy use. No toaster or microwave, which should be standard these days.
We used public transport to get to Ucluelet, so walked back in to buy disposable cups & milk. Nowhere other than bathroom to wash dishes, glasses & no washing up liquid or tea towel, so used face cloth & hand towel!
Really poorly thought out.
- Jason (5/5): Would not stay here again. - Location for our visit. Coffee pot had old coffee and filter still in it and the hot water kettle was full of debris and unusable. Old coffee in an open bag was left there, but again, who would use a random open bag of coffee? No microwave. I assumed breakfast was included, but was mistaken, although many reviews describe the breakfast was offered.
- Anastasiia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valentina (4/5): Disappointing - The place was beatutiful. The room and surrounding I was waken up at 5 a.m. by cold air pumped into the room, that made me freeze and it was terribly noisy. The owner said it was the heating....but it was freezing and it disrupted my sleep. Moreover, I did not even ask for it and they never asked me if I wanted it or not.
it was July
- Adrian (9/5): Just loved it, would like to stay here anytime I’m in the area. - I love its location, secluded in the forest. Only one thing, there was no outside light around the back.
- Jackie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional - It is a super charming accommodation which is idyllically situated in the middle of the forest.
- Karen (5/5): Ok - Location was excellent. There was limited lighting outside, we arrived in the dark. The balcony was quite dangerous, needing some repair, could have used a microwave. Not really nice having to wash dishes in bathroom. No contact from owner - when asked about breakfast which is strongly advertised on their website - no answer - when asked about check out - no answer. Then as we were driving away from property answered stating breakfast no longer served. Misleading advertising. There is no sea view as advertised it’s more like a swamp view.
- Jaqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky, spacious, peaceful.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - It's in a very nice quiet area, not a huge place that's super busy, it was nice and clean, has a huge amazing bath tub with jets! It was very peaceful ✌️ I liked it all, it was a great place, I would stay there again
- Ruslan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sherin (9/5): Superb -
- Chiefeit (10/5): Exceptional - The location is quiet and close to town.
- Patti (1/5): Disappointing that this B& B booking process is not explained better so we realized the incoming tex - We weren’t received. They had gone to bed, so there was nothing to like. We made a booking & were confirmed. We were told we would get a text. It was 8:00 & we were being seated in a restaurant. The text assumed we would ( in my case could), download the booking website. This had a rein of security info to read. I was I interrupted by a waiter. When a second one was sent,my daughter offered to read it ( as I have cognitive difficulties). She wanted to know what came before the text. She backed it up & saw the confirmation of our reservation. We also had given our estimated time of arrival would be 11:00. - midnight. This was all that was necessary in all our other travel reservations so she thought that all was well & we got on with enjoying our dinner. We drove to the location after our dinner. There were signs at the door with the proprietor’s phone number. They didn’t answer 2 calls & our mssg left. It seems either the proprietor found our arrival annoyingly late, or they didn’t receive the booking.com message to expect a late arrival. The note to say we would get a text does not clarify the PROCESS. If they don’t want late bookings, they should close off the site. They would have picked up my mssg on their phone the next day, but have chosen not to call & “ apologize” or explain what they knew or didn’t know . I won’t try to go there next time as they seem to prefer to ignore the potential customer’s frustration, ie not call.
- Thind (9/5): it waa my bf’s bdy and which they help make it super special for us. amazing host. - the location and the built. no heating except for portable heater
- Tiffany (8/5): Very good - We really liked the privacy of the accommodation.
Comfortable and well appointed. Safety on the deck was a minor concern as deck may be aging and has a couple of rough spots and broken boards. The suite itself was perfect.
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): amazing place, good value and excellent hosts - location was amazing. Kevin was an excellent host. loved the hot tub and location tucked away in the forest. good wifi, fire place was charming.
- Colleen (9/5): Superb -
- Mikhail (10/5): Exceptional -

- Anonymous (10/5): wonderful weekend away at a quaint little cabin with modern amenities. - modern and spacious accommodation.
- Edward (9/5): Superb -
- Laurel (10/5): I will be back to stay again and recommend this place for a couple looking for a quiet retreat in Ukee. - We loved everything. From the jacuzzi tub to the fire place and balcony. It was a short walk to where we could see the moonrise at night and the sunrise in the morning and only a short drive from Big Beach where we saw the sun set.
I also liked that the host provided bear spray if we wanted to have it for walks. Thankfully the only wildlife we saw was deer, but that little touch was nice. This doesn’t count as a real dislike, more of a wish. The only thing that would be nice would be a microwave, but there is a fridge, utensils and plates as well as a kettle and coffee pot.
- Emma (10/5): was a great stay, great room and owners were really friendly - property was hidden away, felt like you were in the woods. Also had great views and a lovely fire place
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petra (9/5): Superb - The room with a hot tub and fireplace.
- Jane (10/5): Staying here was a real treat - Delightful retreat in lovely surroundings
- John (9/5): A lovely place to stay in a great setting. - Really liked the accommodation and, in particular, the forest setting. Nothing, it was lovely.
- Robert (10/5): 10 except for stubbing toe at foot of bed - setting. cleanliness spaciousness beds too low
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (9/5): Lovely romantic getaway. - We loved the space! The fireplace was awesome, the heated floor in the bathroom was a wonderful surprise & the view was great! It was in a lovely location close to downtown and the host was great. The only reason I didn’t rate this place at 10 was because we could hear a lot of movement on the floor above us.
- Kong (10/5): Exceptional - clean room.
- Megan (9/5): Superb -
