Guest Reviews
- Candice (10/5): - It's nice that you can park right outside the door of your room. Staff are always kind and courteous.
- Gwendolyn (10/5): - Great place and location! Nice owners.
- Simon (10/5): - Affordable and clean fort short stays
- Candice (8/5): - Wittle Inn is a great place, I always enjoy my stays here. Walls are a bit thin but property overall still pretty quiet for being so close to El Camino. Unfortunately, there is no ice machine but many nearby dining/shopping options makes up for it.
- Xiaoli (4/5): - Old motel dirty kitchen
- Kelli (10/5): - Wonderful people lovely room.
- Candice (10/5): - Staff is always helpful and courteous. Convenient location
- Andrea (10/5): - Nice clean basic hotel and very reasonably price. Good neighborhood walk to Whole Foods restaurants and Peet's coffee..
- Maren (8/5): - Decent place to stay if you need to be in the area. The walls/doors are quite thin though so recommend bringing earplugs with you
- Candice (10/5): - I keep coming back here beacuse there are rarely any issues, and its a very convenient location. The only issue I encountered during another visit was that the room wasn't ready at check in, but understandable when understaffed due to circumstances beyind their control. This trip the staff was very helpful and accommodating when I needed to add an extra night.
- Ravikishan (10/5): - Beautiful property
- Chakkaphan (10/5): - Very nice place
- Candice (10/5): - This location is convenient, and surprisingly quiet for being so close to el Camino
- Ione (10/5): Chicken Farm to Affordable Convenient Comfortable - It's easy to pass by this little in and not even realize The Wittle Inn is there. Snuggled in a neighborhood near downtown Sunnyvale and less than a block off a main drag, it's an easy walk to lots of restaurants and shops making its location extremely convenient. The room I stayed in was like a bungalow with safe parking literally right next to the door of the room. You'll find most of the amenities of a 5 star hotel, and everything worked. Check in was quick and efficient. The ONLY issue I had was with the strong odor of cleaning products, but after running the fan a bit, it dissipated (or I got used to it). Do I recommend this hotel? Yep. Absolutely! I mean, I can officially claim I stayed in what used to be a chicken farm almost a century ago!!
- Monica (8/5): - Best deal around this area, old property but rooms are fine. I love the location. A short walk to downtown Sunnyvale.
- Robin (10/5): - We always love our stay at the Wittle Inn. The hosts are so friendly, the inn is clean and has easy access to transportation and nearby shopping.
- marcel (10/5): - Unexpected results.
I stayed in Wittle inn for one night for work purposes and had a wonderful experience. Check-in was simple, parking was easy, and property was maintained.
Room 105 was very clean, had a microwave, mini refridge, toothpaste/brush, bathroom essentials, and a quiet aircon/heater.
Great wifi and TV as well.
I'd stayed here again whenever I am in Sunnyvale again.
Thank you Wittle inn.
- Miguel (10/5): - Very calm area
- Lucy (10/5): Nice! - Great hotel! Very friendly and accommodating staff, great location. Room was bigger than I expected. Older building but very clean and well kept. Mini fridge, freezer, and microwave was super.
- Dan (10/5): Traveler - Great gem in Palo Alto CA. Quiet and walking distance to everything. Spacious rooms and bathroom. AC spot on.
- Andrew (10/5): A little comfortable oasis in Sunnyvale - I am a lifetime Titanium Elite member of Marriott and prefer staying at one of their many choices of properties. This little boutique hotel was clean, comfortable, and the owner was accommodating. It did not have an ice-machine, however, the owner delivered 2 bags of ice. I needed to be in Los Altos one day and the other day in Santa Clara. Both drives were less than 15 minutes making this an ideal location. I was able to park right in front of my unit and that was totally convenient. There was a refrigerator, microwave, tv mounted on the wall, desk with an excellent lamp, excellent shower pressure and hot water, and the bed was comfortable. It is no Ritz Carlton but it was as comfortable as any Fairfield or Courtyard I have stayed. I will return when my business takes me to this area as the rate was extremely reasonable unlike the aforementioned properties.
- Edwin (10/5): - not much parking
- Candice (10/5): - Staff are pleasant/respectful, and it was great being able to park right outside my room.
- Debra (8/5): Exactly as pictured and bed was heaven - Exactly as pictured. Very cute nice quiet place. The walls are brick so you don't hear other quests and traffic. Staff super nice and accommodating. Waiting for a refund to come thru due to mix up with online payment. Refund should process in day or tow. Staff gave me refund receipt. Don't double pay like I did. Was so tired when I got there I wasn't thinking.
Couple things I would suggest. Don't forget to check refrigerator when people leave and the shower needs a shower caddy to place toiletries. I didn't like having to place them on the shower floor. Best thing? The bed was super comfortable!!! Thank you!
- Candice (10/5): - Stay was great! Check in, and check out were easy and the front desk attendants were kind. The area is surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to el camino. Will definitely stay again sometime.
- Andrew (10/5): - This is a quiet, nice place to stay at a good price.
- Peter (8/5): - Room has a musty smell. Bathroom and tub/shower dirty and show rust stains.
- Yvette (10/5): - Nice place, clean, great location easy check in, hot water, good heater, comfy bed. Window blinds dont block enough bright light from outside.
- Cody (10/5): - Owner was extremely nice, above and beyond our expectations
- Lester (6/5): - It is very old and could use some updating. The bed was very firm and not particularly comfortable.
- Natalie (10/5): - Very nice clean cute place to stay!
- Sabina (10/5): Great, safe neighborhood hotel! - This hotel is perfectly situated to walk to restaurants and shops. A 15 minute drive to shoreline amphitheatre. It's clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is very boutique and the owners are so very nice too. I'd definitely stay here again!
- Corinna (10/5): - This is such a little gem in Sunnyvale! The staff are so nice, friendly, and helpful. The place was clean and spacious, and really for the price. Quite amazing! I love that it was small and quiet and I was able to sleep very well. I love the neighborhood and how safe and cute it was. Across the street there’s great quick options like Pete’s coffee and lots of fast food restaurants but if you’re willing to walk 10 minutes there’s a sweet old part of town where there’s lots of great restaurants, there was music playing in the street and it was just a really fun atmosphere.
- Amber (10/5): Highly recommend! - Amazing! Great place to stay while visiting family! Quiet & pleasant at night
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent prices and facilities. - Excellent prices and facilities.
- Thomas (10/5): - Very nice, affordable option!
- Elijah (10/5): - It's perfectly fine for what it is, i.e., a simple place to sleep in the South Bay. The dumpling place across the street was a win also, but I like dives. No complaints.
- Frank (8/5): - A one bedroom good for long stay
- Paul (10/5): - Great little inn in a good location at a great price.
- Anne (10/5): - Very clean and spacious room. Friendly staff. Good location. Walking distance to many restaurants, markets and stores. Close to historical downtown Sunnyvale, and Sunnyvale museum.
- Gia (10/5): - Wonderful wittle place close to everything you could wish for. Will definitely stay there everyone I need to be in the area
- Matthew (10/5): - Very comfortable and clean. Great location.
- HOWARD (10/5): Awesone atay! - We came for a show at Shoreline, wich was great! The room at Wittle Inn was within walking distance to twentyfive restaurants. 15 min drive to the venue. Very quite and clean.
- Linda (10/5): - This is a small, clean, well-cared-for family-owned property They have been in business for over 30 years. Their children grew up on the property. Very personable.
- Diane (10/5): - It was super clean, quiet, comfortable & safe. Plus loved having coffee maker, microwave & refrigerator. Would def stay again. Nothing to dislike.
- RICHARD (10/5): - Nice place to stay
- Heather (8/5): Great stay for a great price! - I had a wonderful stay here. The room was clean and spacious and the management was very kind and helpful.
- Darren (10/5): Nice quiet place! - The owners are very nice and have done a great job with the place. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily by the staff. No issues with noise or anything else outside of the construction on the street (which wasn't the hotel's fault).
- Ondrej (8/5): - Simply a good deal. Although all equipment is from previous century, it all works and is sort of cozy. Rooms were tidy, owners are nice. Drive in access to your door is cool.
The smell of disinfectant was a bit excessive, few hours of venting may be needed.
- Ingrid (10/5): - It’s was one of the best and surprisingly quiet
- Aditya (10/5): - Amazing place to stay. Clean and equipped with all utilities
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fabulous - Great location, within walking distance of many eateries. Very comfortable basic accommodation. Very happy with my stay
- Cassidy (10/5): - Got better sleep than most hotels.
- Zhen (10/5): - I gave this place 5/5 during my last visit, however, I had to give 4/5 this time since I found a bed bug on the pillow. I understand that this might be quite random, but you may want to have a deep scan to avoid this next time.
- Zhen (10/5): - Great one. Clean and convenient parking.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Wittle Inn is one of the best places to stay in Sunnyvale, it’s like a home and they watch the property great and it’s very easy to walk around and get anything to eat it’s very very convenient and clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a nice little motel, the people who run it are are friendly, it's not fancy but everything works and it's very pleasant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The best in Sunnyvale, but nothing fancy - I'm a big fan of the Bakhta family, the owners, and the way they run the Wittle Inn. The location is superb, the best in Sunnyvale, on a quiet street but near everything. There's nothing fancy but it is excellent value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was simple, comfortable and very clean. I liked that it had wood floors. Bathroom very clean and the outdoors had a lot of plants.
What I liked the most was, I arrived back at the motel 10:30/10:45 and discovered that along the way I had misplaced the room key. I so much didnt want to perhaps wake up the hosts but I also didnt want to sleep sitting up in my car. I opted to ring the doorbell, and the host was so friendly and nice.
I was so appreciative.
I would absolutely book there again.
- Raphael (10/5): Excellent, comfortable, clean and convenient inn. - A nice comfortable stay in a small, comfortable, friendly and clean inn.
Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property gives off a very old feeling, but is in relatively good shape for it's age. The only thing that I would address is the air conditioner/heater. It was very noisy, and made it nearly impossible to sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bargain in high priced area - It was convenient to Palo Alto VA Hospital where we were visiting. Took 12 minutes on I-208 with light traffic & over 30 minutes c traffic. Clean, comfortable. Desk person was very friend & helpful. Very nice person. Met our last minute need for a one night stay. Bargain in a high priced area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk person was very nice. There were many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Overall, I enjoyed staying at this hotel.
- Brandon (10/5): Best value in Silicon Valley - Super clean (you can actually tell they clean it every day), safe room, with attentive staff, in heart of Sunnyvale (walking distance to downtown Sunnyvale restaurant district). Not fancy, but everything is in working order and did I mention clean?
- Scott (10/5): Easy Access To Google & Apple Campuses - It was a nice change from the big chain hotels. Everything in the Bay Area is expensive and the Wittle Inn was no exception although it was better than some others nearby.
A little out-dated but overall a great stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff and a sweet place to stay in a great location. Much better rate than nearby hotels too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice, clean and quiet yet very accessible. Plenty of restaurants just right across the street as well as shops, massage and even a Walgreens store. Pretty much close to everything one needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable option in Sunnyvale - The sheets had a few stray hairs that were not mine. And the bed wasn't the *most* comfortable. But at this price, I was happy with the location and a bed for the night in Silicon Valley.
Lots of cable channels :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to several restaurants. Property had flowers all around
- Timothy (10/5): - Great little hotel. Very quiet and conveniently located.
Great friendly staff. Will definitely stay again if back in the area
- Greathotel (10/5): - Great little hotel in a residential area. Very quiet with shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Clean room. Parking available for one car but it’s a tight squeeze. Bed is very firm. Great staff, room was always clean and I really enjoyed not having the hustle and bustle of a large hotel. No vending machines or ice on this property.
- Kelly (10/5): Nice change from a big chain hotel. - 1930’s motel on a relatively quiet street. Rooms are clean and fresh and up to date. It’s the anti-dote for a big chain stay. 10 rooms or so. Good prices.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable. as well as centrally located within walking distance to many coffee shops and restaurants..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean quiet quaint. Nice firm bed. Water bottles were a nice touch.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Older place but really nice and clean beautiful landscape
- Jeri (10/5): Concert Fun - Lovely small Inn, was very NICE! Owners were pleasant and courteous.
- LutherJohnson (10/5): - Simple, nice, quiet, friendly. Nice location, easy parking.
- Pat (10/5): Great stay! - Great place to stay overall! Loved being able to park my car right in front of my room. The room was modern and super clean. A few signs of the age of the property here and there but very minor. Check in was fast and easy. The room was cleaned daily and really well. The A/C was very effective but a little loud - easy to deal with since I really don't like being too hot. I will definitely recommend it and be back next time I'm in Cupertino.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Only small issue is parking. Check in was easy and pleasent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little motel for the business traveler or family. Quiet location off the main street but still close to shopping and dining/coffee. Old building but updated. VERY clean. free wifi is OK. Coffee/Fridge/Microwave/Good TV. Overall very happy with this place and would stay again.
- Rita (8/5): Wittle Inn shoe overnight stay for Shoreline conce - Very clean and neat shopping and restaurants. Comfortable for a short stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner, manager was very conscientious and pleasant. The room was sparkling clean. For a very old facility the room was clean and the bed was superb. Located on a quiet side street it is close to the business areas.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is a quiet place at a walking distance from a good shopping center with all kind of food a Trader Joes and a Starbuck. Parling is easy on the property or the street.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, pared-down to lovely basics hotel. Beautiful wood floors, firm mattress, quiet area. The proprietor is friendly and genuine. A breathe of fresh air in the Silicon Valley where things can become ridiculously gimmicky.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 4.8/5.0 - The room was much bigger than I was anticipating. The off-set kitchen and bathroom were both spacious and spotless. Bed was a little firm but otherwise still comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and quaint. And quiet. Nice owner
. Close to eaterys
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very small and old but very well kept. Minimal parking space. Relatively quiet
- Jason (10/5): A gem - Fantastic inexpensive motel with great informative owners.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The front desk clerk (owner?) was very kind and provided a great service. Room rate was great.
Didn't even realize it had a kitchen with a range/oven and so would be good on extended stays. Everything was very clean; the floors were immaculate. It's not a high-end hotel by any means, but it was very, very nice.
Feb. 2019
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The proprietor was a real gentleman. He volunteered to help me repair my vehicle window after it has been burgalarized in buttonhole CA.
- Tracy (8/5): - We were here for just one night. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find extra power outlets on the top of both nightstands (something I wish there was more of in higher-end hotels/motels). The only issue was the smell of ammonia was so strong that we had to open the front and bathroom windows and then run the fan on the AC unit all night to circulate enough fresh air to make it bearable. The location is great for access to downtown Sunnyvale and lots of places to eat.
- Andre (6/5): Ok for a night, spend a little more somewhere else - Decent hotel for one night. Bedding needs updating. Pillows were flat, bed way too hard. Towels older and scratchy. Staff was friendly. Neat looking hotel. Need to raise rates $25-$50 per night and update bedding and towels.
- Cary (8/5): A decent place to stay in a busy area. - I really appreciated them holding my room despite problems with my credit card. Room was cozy & clean.
- Joy (10/5): Quiet, quaint, good rate. Would stay again. - I stayed for one night on a business trip and discovered this little gem. It’s off of the busy El Camino Real but not on it. It makes a much quieter location without the noise. Reasonable rates and convenient location to Silicon Valley. Will stay again.
- Sue (8/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. Small motel in a great position, close to nice restaurants & within a short drive of Silicon Valley.
- Bill (8/5): - Know what you're getting here going in.
This is an old motor hotel from the 1930s with just 10 rooms. The owners live in the front unit, so you have to ring the doorbell to check in.
The rooms are clean, with small refrigerators and free WiFi that tested out at 40 MBPS for me. Most large hotels' free WiFi is 1.5 MBPS, and they charge $12 to $20 per day for up to 5 MBPS. The hotel is also a block away from restaurants and coffee shops, and just 1/2 mile from Historic Murphy Street in Sunnyvale.
My room cost $165 per night, compared to the nearby Aloft, which wanted $495 per night, and other hotels in the area that all started at $300. So this is a good place to stay if you're on a tight budget. The Whittle is a completely different animal from Aloft or any other chain hotel though, so go in with the right expectations
- w.mays (8/5): - A nice little motel, close to downtown. Everything was fine. Comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent for the price in the area. - The room had an odd smell, presumably from the cleaning products used. The bed was pretty hard and cleaning crew missed some areas.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fair price for a place to sleep - Not a 5-Star resort but for the price it’s a decent place to stay
