Hellerstein (10/5): Excellent hotel, highly recommended - This is a historic hotel in a lively, interesting part of town. It has much more character and charm compared to other hotels in its price range. Nice breakfast. Coffee and water available all day in the lobby. Beautiful pool. Highly recommended. This hotel is over 110 years old so it's understandable that the rooms don't have an outlet every 6 feet but it would have been nice if the hotel had done more to compensate for this, for example providing power strips in safe locations and using lamps with built-in outlets.

Es gibt tolles Frühstück mit frischen Früchten, Eiern, Waffeln - sehr gut! Schönes Ambiente in dem Haus alle Mitarbeiter nett . Es haben im Zimmer ein paar Haken gefehlt um etwas aufzuhängen. Es gibt keine Waschmaschine für Gäste!
shawnid2025 (10/5): We Will Be Back - I would recommend the Crystal Bay Hotel in a heartbeat! The history of the hotel is very interesting, and really made for a great atmosphere. Great location, and close to many activities (ask the staff for their recommendations). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. And, my #1 rave would be for the staff! Every single member of the staff was so personable and helpful - answering our questions, providing recommendations - all with a great sense of humor. If we are ever back this way again, this is where we will stay. Thank you!

Bonnie Donelson (9/5): - I love historic buildings, so the Crystal Bay hit all the points for me; history, feel and atmosphere of an older building with modern conveniences. One of the guests in my party works in hospitality, so she is usually pretty critical. She was impressed with the hotel and especially the staff that helped make our stay more enjoyable. My only criticism is that street noise seemed to be pretty loud, even on the upper floor. However, since that is beyond the ability of staff to manage, it's just something to consider when staying there.

Geräumige, saubere Zimmer, und problemloses Parken auf dem Hotel Parkplatz oder in der Strasse selbst. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal und ein hervorragendes Frühstück machen dieses Hotel zu einer absoluten Empfehlung für einen Aufenthalt in St.Petersburg. Durch die Lage an der Hauptstraße ist der Verkehrslärm am Pool sehr deutlich wahrnehmbar. Auf unserem Zimmer hat der Verkehr trotz nur einfacher Verglasung der alten Fenster allerdings nicht gestört, wir konnten sehr gut schlafen.
cathyc40 (10/5): Historic hotel is pet friendly - We have stayed at this historic hotel over several years. They are pet friendly. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There is a lovely butterfly garden out back. The have an outdoor pool. The beds are comfortable. Free WiFi and TV. The only drawback is it is on a busy road. You hear motorcycles and excessively loud cars and trucks. The hotel is very clean.

Der Check-In wird rein digital erwartet, mit Zahlen-Codes für alle Türen. Wer (wie wir) renitent ist und klingelt, darf immerhin klassisch einchecken - die Codes kommen dann per E-Mail. Die Sprinkler-Anlage ist wirklich gewöhnungsbedürftig quer durchs Zimmer gezogen.

The atmosphere, the kindness of the staff, and especially the incredible receptionist who went out of her way to communicate with us despite our very limited English — it meant a lot. The room was absolutely spotless, which I deeply appreciate not only as a guest, but also as the owner of a cleaning company. The level of care and attention was truly outstanding — especially compared to other places we experienced during our trip. I would just like to share one small, constructive observation: the way trash bags are placed in the bins. When the plastic liner is too visible or oversized, it slightly affects the overall aesthetic and also reduces the usability of the bin. A small adjustment here could make an already beautiful space feel even more refined. Thank you again for your warmth, professionalism, and the feeling of being truly welcome. We will remember this stay very fondly 🤍

Melinda (10/5): - The location and the decor. It feels like stepping back in time. The bed was super comfortable, and we enjoyed the pillows. The morning breakfast has many options, from crispy bacon to an omelet selection. You can ask the chef in the morning to cook fresh eggs as well. Please take a stroll on the open deck, the view and rocking chairs are nice. The parking is limited, and you have to make sure you park on the side of the hotel and not the condos.

They had an omelette bar with a chef cooking it for you, even though we didn’t have time to try it, it’s a nice touch. The property is historic, so we didn’t expect top notch, but the floors are super uneven, you feel like you are about to fall when you walk in the hallways and in the room, we were on the second floor, so be careful when you walk. The AC in our room was a portable type and it was extremely loud and bothered us especially at night. The street outside was also loud with traffic until late at night.

royal (9/5): Kudos to everyone here at the property. - We stayed in the Babe Ruth room which had nastalgia and history. Property for it's historic age was in excellent condition, very comfortable. The staff were 10 out of 10. Would love to come back and stay longer. Access to property had stairs to enter making luggage a slight challenge but not a huge issue.

Gregory (10/5): A charming relaxing stay in a well situated historic yet modern hotel. - The hotel was full of southern charm including rocking chairs on the veranda, sunny reading room facing the gardens surrrounding the water- facing side of the hotel. The furniture had d world charm. Rooms very clean. Staff terrific including the chef Making food for the breakfast buffet (great fresh fruit) who came over to see if all was ok. Location on an inner coastal waterway allowed for walking along the water. Best yet was learning from staff of the history of the property with guests that include Marilyn Monro and Babe Ruth (who had private apartments there), Robert Kennedy, Al Capone, Henry Miller and the 3 Stooges. Parts of the movie Cocoon were filmed there. . I can’t think of anything.

Various choices for all of the members in my family's different taste buds. It was clean the staff was nice we love the cozy feel of it and the little quirks of this charmful place. Our room had an amazing view looking out from the third floor of the hotel and just the perfect corner to see the city view. When we visited there was a bit of a cold front so we weren't able to go in the pool but we hope to come back during the summer time and check it out again.

Y3141KXbrianc (10/5): The Crystal Bay Hotel Experience - My wife and I stayed at The Crystal Bay Hotel this past January 19th - 25th and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. It is in a prime location for the beaches and the vibrant downtown St Pete entertainment district. The atmosphere is so very warm, welcoming and peaceful, the energy of the building is noticable and rather calming. Our room, a viranda room, opened directly onto a West facing viranda and was ideal for our morning coffee and watching the beautiful sunsets over Boca Ciega Bay and Treasure Island Beach. The value is incredible, not only is it reasonably priced, it was less expensive than staying at any of the lesser corporate hotel chains in the area. It has a WONDERFUL STAFF, from the front desk personnel, the very friendly and accommodating housekeeping staff, the kitchen and dining room staff. The room, lobby and common areas and grounds are meticulously kept and spotless and the lobby and common areas are furnished and decorated in early 20th century furnishings which only further adds to the warmth and charm of the hotel. Kathii and I absolutely loved our stay at The Crystal Bay Hotel and Bed and Breakfast and we will DEFINITELY be staying with them again in the future whenever we need accommodations in St. Petersburg Florida, and I can HONESTLY and CONFIDENTLY recommend this WONDERFUL historical hotel and bed and breakfast to anyone looking for beautiful, comfortable and centrally located accommodations in St. Petersburg. They are dog friendly and they are just as welcoming to pooches as they are with their humans. 12 out of 10 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Unser Zimmer war sehr gemütlich mit abzufangen zur Veranda. Frühstücksräume, und das Frühstück selbst sind super. Hier ist mal nicht alles aus Plastik, sondern richtiges Geschirr und Besteck. Es gibt alles, was man üblicherweise so braucht und vorzufinden hofft. Das Haus wird familiär geführt und das Personal ist sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Parkplätze sind kostenlos genügend vorhanden. Der Pool war auch ok. Es war alles ok.

Barry (10/5): The hotel exceeded our expectations. - Breakfast was great. Very nkce ambiance and desk staff. Hotel is well maintained. History, provided in the room, was very interesting. Spoons at the breakfast buffet were not available. The two women staffing the breakfast room said they were very busy. One of them finally came out with many forks (which were not needed) and three or four spoons. You cannot eat cereal without a spoon.
