• Alan (6/5): A mixed bag of pluses and minuses - A small hotel and even smaller rooms and bathrooms. Very basic comfort and below average amenities. The staff was friendly in general but the two-hour late checkout extension that was granted at check-in was receded and not valid and we received a call from the front demanding that we check out at once. This was extremely annoying considering that we had made plans based on an approved late check out! The breakfast buffet has a good assortment of food and three different egg dishes made to order. The building is old with many antiques and antique framed pictures, artwork and photos and high ceilings. The hotel’s location was very convenient in the heart of the center. With many other hotel options around the center, this hotel ranks at 5 out of 10.

Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. The location of the hotel is 5/5. Very central location but still quiet and we didn’t hear any outside notices in the room. The only minor issue was to get to order omelets at the breakfast. The staff there didn’t speak any English and it turned out to be difficult to place an order. Fortunately google translate solved the situation.

Erityisesti pidin siitä, kun huoneeseen oli tuotu lahjaksi uuden vuoden aattona pullollinen kuohuviiniä ja suklaalevy. Aamiasihuone on hieno näköinen, mutta ikävä kyllä aamiainen ei ollut ihan makuuni. Poikaystäväni piti siitä paljon. Aamiainen on monipuolinen niin en itsekkään jäänyt tyhjin vatsoin.

And the Receptionist staff were brilluant: friendky, heloful, mnothing was too much triuble. Hotel us wakjing dustabce to all the best sites to see, great restaurants. It was quiet, safe and cosy. Very warm on the cold St Petersburg winter days. Healthy and substantial breakfast. No restaurant but that was actually a plus as the place feels more like a private family home without all the noise associated with bars and dining rooms. And good restaurants within a few minutes walk I will definitely return one day.

• Irene (10/5): Übernachten in einem ehemaligen Herrenhaus - Das Hotel ist etwas ganz Besonderes, da es ein ehemaliges Herrenhaus ist. Es lässt einen spüren, wie das Leben der reichen Leute früher war. Mir gefiel vor allem der Frühstücksraum mit den Bildern und Schnitzereien. Zudem kann man viele Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuss erreichen, auch die Metrostation ist nicht weit weg.
• Marc (8/5): Schitterend gelegen hotel! - De locatie van het hotel is ideaal, op een paar minuten wandelen van de St. Isaacs kathedraal waar ook de City Bus Trips beginnen. Kamers zijn proper goed uitgerust en rustig, enig nadeel is dat er geen lift is, het hotel is namelijk in een historisch pand gelegen. Ze hebben echter slechts kamers op het gelijkvloers en voornamelijk op het eerste verdiep. Ontbijt is op het tweede verdiep. Goede vriendelijke en efficiënte bediening.

My room was small, but quiet and clean and had everything I needed. The bathroom was clean and modern. The buffet breakfast was good served on the third floor in a beautifully decorated room. In general I felt like I stayed at an old house with a lot of history rather than at a hotel. I highly recommend this place for someone who came to learn the history of this beautiful city and is looking for an immersive experience.

Great staff. Lovely breakfast. Safe surrounding with several restaurants nearby. A relaxing and memorable stay.

Sijaintihan on mitä mainioin, Mariinski-teatterin ja Eremitaasin välissä, kävelyetäisyys molempiin. Hyvät bussiyhteydet, 35 minuuttia Suomen-asemalle.

The breakfasts were amazing, with cooked-to-order eggs and a wonderful buffet. They even made us carryout lunch boxes when we were leaving early, before breakfast, the last day! Highly recommend this lovely St. Petersburg hotel.
• Erik (10/5): Prima Wahl für St. Petersburg - Zentral gelegenes und dank sehr guter Fenster dennoch ruhiges Hotel mit hervorragendem Service, gut organisiertem und hilfsbereitem Empfang, schönen (mind. 4m hohen) sauberen Zimmern, makellosem Bad, ordentlichem Frühstücksbuffet und kostenlosen WLAN. Empfang ist 24h besetzt und bewahrt Koffer am Abreisetag gerne, zuverlässig und kostenlos auf. Im 3. OG gibt es einen Seminarraum. Kein Fahrstuhl, deswegen (nur) für gehbehinderte Gäste eventuell problematisch.

Excellent breakfast included in the tariff. No lift but porter carried bags up. For a stay of more than one or two nights the suite was excellent. Plenty of room to relain comfort. Very spacious bathroom
• Rene (10/5): - Stayed again at the Big Marine Hotel in Saint Petersburg and must say this is a great choice for accommodation. The hotel is in a beautiful old building very well preserved. The location is perfect, 5 minutes from Saint Isaac Cathedral with many options for shopping, restaurants, public transport close to the hotel. Room is comfortable and very clean. Staff is always helpful and professional. Breakfast in the morning was great. I recommend this property for sure and if ever again in Saint Petersburg will gladly book my room at the Big Marine.

(주요 관광지와 마린스키 극장 사이 중간에 위치). 마린스키 극장 공연이 끝난 늦은 밤에도 10분 정도 거리라 걸어서 돌아왔습니다. - 객실: 깔끔하게 관리되어 있어 가격 대비 만족스러웠습니다. 각종 어메니티(물, 슬리퍼, 칫솔, 세면용품)커피포트, 드라이기도 구비되어 있습니다. - 조식: 식사 공간은 매우 멋있습니다. 제공되는 식사는 빵, 과일과 직접 해주시는 계란 요리가 있습니다. 메이저 호텔 수준은 아니지만, 만족스러웠습니다. 넵스키대로가 아니어서 걷는 거리는 좀 있지만, 5성급 호텔 아래로 괜찮은 호텔을 찾고 계시다면 추천합니다. 객실 수도 많지 않아서 조식 공간 빼고는 마주치는 투숙객도 없었고 조용하게 잘 휴식할 수 있었습니다. 저는 추후에 또 방문하게 된다면 여기서 또 묵고 싶네요.

• Jan G (8/5): Value for money in a central location - A good pick in a central location. We went there for the FIFA World Cup and spent a couple of nights. The hotel is not spectacular in any way, but nice and tidy, and certainly in line with (or above) what you can expect for the money you pay. The location is excellent as the river, the Isaac's Cathedral, the Hermitage, etc are all within walking distance.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Cute, Clean Comfy room - Overall we were very happy with the hotel. It is a small hotel (15 rooms) built in a fantastic mansion built before the revolution. Every hall and room is richly decorated and have the best soft but firm bed I have ever slept in. Only a few of the staff spoke various degrees of English but all the staff were extremely helpful. The morning's meal was nice and quant , very Russian is style but could use a little more variety from day to day (only noticeable if you have a long stay) The Hotel is in a great location minutes from St. Issac and a brisk walk to many other desired locations and three great restaurants near by. Note there are several small grocery stores near by so picking up a beer or some cheese is no hassle. The internet speed was very good but one of our two devices did not like opening for it. (make sure you have both explorer and firefox on device). Three small complaints or more so recommendations . One, the music playing in the breakfast room needs to be changed, there must be a classical or jazz radio station the kitchen could change too. Two, more flyers of local museums and other things for tourist to do (the front desk only had 3 different things) Third I don't know if it is possible or how expensive it would be but a few English speaking channels would go a long way to bring in non Russian tourist. You can only watch so much Netflix on your smart phone.
• Rene (10/5): Excellent location and nice hotel - I recently stayed at the Big Marine Hotel, I can certainly say this is a gem and I recommend it to anyone planning to visit Saint Petersburg. The hotel is centrally located, many attractions, the bus stops, Metro stations, restaurants and small stores are situated within a walking distance. The lobby, common areas and rooms are very well kept and clean. Staff is very helpful and will do all their best to make your stay enjoyable and pleasant. Breakfast is good overall and the hall where the restaurant is located is all a piece of art, food variety and quality is good. When I come back to Saint Petersburg this will be my first choice for accommodation.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Just off centre about 15 minutes walk to Nevsky Pr - Very comfortable room, was the junior suite. sheets and towels immaculate. Lobby and breakfast room about jaded. Quality of breakfast food was poor.
• Catherine (10/5): Very special hotel - It was a wonderful experience: spacious suite, excellent bed, a beautiful house full of antiques. Excellent breakfast buffet. very nice and helpful staff.
• Alena (10/5): Nice option in the heart of St.Petersburg - A great hotel in the heart of the city. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Fresh towels every day. And we enjoyed breakfast very much: cheese, ham, fresh toasts, eggs, cereals, yogurt, pancakes, veggies, etc. Wi-Fi was stable. I'm 100% I'll stay at this hotel again.
• Allan (10/5): Recommended - Great hotel in the old style of Russia.excellent buffet breakfast. Just few minutes walk to most sights. Be aware that taxis charge non Russian speaking people about 4 times normal price. Also as in St Petersburg most smaller hotels do not have lifts although for me was not a big deal. I highly recommend this hotel for its location and all around comfort in quiet area
• Tamara (8/5): Nice hotel closed to main places in St. Petersburg - Perfect location, very goot rates, very good breakfast.Clean, friendly and helpful people. But: you cannot call from your room to cell phone. Almost all people in Russia have cellphones and do not have land line. You cannot call for money wide province / wide country and wide world from the hotel . It is big issue. If you lucky to avoid this problem then everything is good. I definitely will stay here next time.
