- dronesonata (2/5): New ownership is decline - I have stayed here many times in the past. It was an older motel in an out of the way area but the owners maintained a waterslide into the pool which was the reason to come. Also the breakfast although not first rate had decent items like eggs and sausage. In my last stay though it was under new ownership. The water slide was gone. The breakfast was not only just cheap cereal and milk but the cereal was in a machine that made you turn a knob for several minutes to get a single ounce of cereal. I rate 0/5 on that. But much worse was the mattresses. They replaced the okay mattresses with the worst I have ever imagined or experienced. No one can imagine how bad these mattresses are, it is beyond imagination. I have stayed at 5 star top places as well as 1 star dumps and these mattresses are the worst anyone has ever imagined. The new owners are nice people but they are so cheap that this place is completely doomed. There used to be a reason to go out of your way to stay at this remote place but there is not any longer. However, this remote town is safe. Which is good. You just won't sleep well.

- Travis (2/5): - Whole property and its surroundings are sketchy. Zero chance you leave your car doors unlocked here. Pool was a puddle of festering green water likely harboring an army of mosquitos. Room smelled of cigarettes, hair all over the bathroom sink, toilet seat fell off. The power button and other buttons of the tv remote were ripped off. Hardwired smoke detector was missing from the ceiling with bare wires sticking out. Lots of nefarious looking folks seemingly living in this place. I would say do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, but it’s the only hotel in town. One star ONLY because the desk staff were pleasant. Otherwise this place needs torn down and relegated to the waste bin of history.
- Trisha (2/5): - If I could give zero stars on this hotel I would. I was hesitate on booking this hotel but it’s the only one located in Henderson, Tennessee. And after reading the reviews of how they were renovating and that the place was clean, I decided to give it a shot. I walked through two different rooms and both were complete disgust. Live and dead bugs all throughout the room. The first room was carpeted with several stains and the carpet did not even go all the way to the wall. You can only imagine how many bugs were in that space. The second room was not as nasty but still disgusting. I ended up telling them I was not staying there and got a room 30 minutes away. They only refunded a portion of my expense. I DO NOT recommend this hotel and I’m not sure who is writing the reviews but I’m assuming they are fake people.
- Peggy (2/5): Yuck - Front desk was great. Got into the room and it smelled horrible. I sprayed the room with freshener but it came back after 2 hours. Bathroom was not very clean. Furniture with missing pieces. See pics. Then got ice and found a cockroach in the ice. Highly do not recommend staying here.

- lajeanah2025 (2/5): Unacceptable - So I was going to let everything go until I had to stay here a second time and was reminded of how poorly I was treated when me and my family lost our home to a failed plumbing system. In 2024 my family lost our home and had to stay here for 5 months. We lost everything because this was a sudden thing and we had to bring as little as possible with us. The second week here housekeeping banged on my door around 9 am about a stain on a sheet that resembled nail polish or marker. I lost everything from my home so I had neither things. I was told I would be charged $20 for this sheet and I could have new sheets once a week The clean sheets I got every week had stains on them before I could use them. Houserkeeping was so rude and stayed harassing me and my family. My kids had to catch the bus here to school and were lied on and made out to be troubled kids while at the bus stop. It was said my 16 yr old son was throwing rocks at the hotel. My kids are well behaved and well know in the school system for being good children when I’m not around. We got breakfast every other morning until they told us it would be $50 a week for breakfast. At some point a new owner was put in place and began renovating the the entire hotel. Right below my room a wall was being knocked down for a new office space and it was so loud it sounded like they were in our room doing construction. At this time my youngest child was 2 months old and I was working 3rd shift at my job so sleep was nonexistent for me and dad. We complained but nothing changed. We didn’t get another room nor discount and we still had to pay our weekly when the time came. Days later a pipe burst flooding half of the hotel including my room. My kids spent Christmas here so half the things they got for Christmas from shop with a cop and from teachers were wet including toys shoes and clothes. We noticed water coming from the wall late because their clothes were soaking it all up. We were given 2 towels for that night. We slept in a room with soaking wet carpet for 2 nights. Housekeeping knocked on my door the next morning trying to prop my door open to dry the floor while it was freezing outside and knowing I had a 2 month baby inside. I didn’t allow it. Housekeeping was/is very rude and assumed because I didn’t allow them to clean my room because I had my own cleaning tools that my room was dirty. I had to call the police twice on housekeeping for harassment, different days. We were moved to a new room 2 days later $20 dollars to was all of our clothes. It would have been nothing had I not made a big deal about it and the harassment continued. Housekeeping saw we had a visitor who owned a cat and asked us every morning if we had a cat before giving us towels. Another morning a working began sawing through our door to change the lock and had sparks and smoke everywhere There was no warning. This entire experience was a mess and I didn’t want to be here as much as they didn’t want us here. My new home flooded just 2 days ago 7/31/25 while roofing was being done it began to rain causing leaks everywhere and my ceiling fell in. I had to come back to this place. The front desk lady. Had just given a gentleman a room before me. When it was turn she asked for my name a said I called the cops on her and she didn’t have any rooms. She even said I destroyed the room the last time I was there. She couldn’t tell me what I destroyed and tried to say the room was renovated because of me but it was renovated because of the flood and because the freed hard man students were renting the place out but she tried to blame me and denied me a room . By the grace of God my landlord was able to clear an apartment for us to sleep. I hate pulling the race card but I don’t apologize for how I feel but definitely feel discriminated against and looked down on because I have multiple children. Bottom line is I was taught with home training and I teach my kids home training and they way we were treated here was unacceptable. So if you’re a black family who just so happens to loose your home. Don’t come here. Forgot to mention there was not 1 apology made.
- Randall (8/5): Not too bad. - The Overall stay was very good. The only negitive was actually a big one. The continental breakfast was very weak.....at best. I think more could have been provided.
- Mark (2/5): - We booked this hotel because of the pictures of the big water slide at the pool. Our granddaughter was super excited about it. When we arrived, there was no water slide. The room was dirty and hot. We turned on the A/C and 6 hours later it was starting to cool down. Continental breakfast was very limited.
- 156EM24 (2/5): Flea Bag - Flea Bag Just completely awful. Do Not Stay Here. You’ll regret it. It’s a shame there aren’t many other hotels to choose from in Henderson, TN. Try and book one of the few Air bnb accommodations they actually look nice.

Our room was clean and nice but smelled like smoke/musty smell. We survived! Ordered a pizza from dominoes and it was delivered in 20 min. & very good!! Would stay here again.

- Elaine (8/5): - All in all, the hotel is fine. I needed it for one night, and the price was right. I think the hotel has been where it is for a long time, and the neighborhood around it has changed, not for the better. But at the same time, being in a commercial area makes it a convenient location. The only two clear negatives for me were the pool being closed for renovation, and the air conditioner making the window curtains billow and gap open. I solved that by taking one of the couch cushions and wedging it in the space so the curtains would stay put. But obviously, that situation should be looked at. Before checking out the next morning, I looked forward to coffee in the lobby, since there was no coffee provided in the room...but while I did see a coffee dispenser, it was open and empty. Oh well. I went down the road to a breakfast place that was open. I was comfortable at the Americana and enjoyed a good night's sleep.

I had a suite which was why I felt a little perplexed. The room was ok, but there was dirt and hair in the bathroom. A kettle or coffee pot to heat water would have greatly improved the stay, if nothing else

My only real complaint is the housekeeping staff pounds on the door at 8am when we were trying to sleep in. We told them we were still in the room and wouldn’t be leaving until later, but they still came back around 30 minutes later, knocking again. 8am is too early to be pounding on doors and waking people up that may want to sleep in.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay but nothing fancy, & outdated - It was alright, but out dated. It is close to a highway-some noise from it, and hard to tell where office is. Neighbors were loud at 4:20 AM & birds noisy then too. No hair dryer in rooms. Breakfast very simple-not much (juice, toast, fruit, mini muffins, 3 cereals.) Nothing beside fruit and juice if you have gluten allergies. Outdoor pool was closed for maintenance. We just needed a place to sleep on our long trip home. So it worked, but would go somewhere else more updated in a bigger city.

- 741christiem (4/5): My 1st and last visit to this place. - The person at the desk was very unfriendly and not very helpful. He didn’t volunteer any info. I had to ask. He barely spoke to me. The hotel room was pretty dirty. Carpet stained and gross. Bedding seemed to be clean. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable and very used. Furniture beat up and scratched. Everything needed updating. Stains on walls. Even the tv was peeling. Hole. Parking was far from my room and dark, in between big trucks. Didn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t stay here again

- Verified traveler (6/5): Meh. - All staff we encountered were friendly. There was an issue with my check in, but the gentleman who was checking me in took care of it. Their pet fee is very affordable (we had 2 dogs with us). When we got into our room, we noticed our sink faucet had blue toothpaste residue on it. The ‘old’ hair dryer hanger was VERY dusty (no hair dryer in it). Our bathtub faucet had a steady stream leak the entire time we were there. The carpet looked like it had seen better days / maybe needed a deep cleaning. We put the do not disturb on our door, & they still entered our room (we were not there at the time). I wouldn’t have an issue with this normally, but they replaced items that were on the sink counter…& still did not clean the faucet of the blue toothpaste residue. Lovely lobby. Breakfast was pretty decent. They had biscuits & gravy (among other items), which really made my husband happy. On the second day, tho, I found a hair in the gravy. :/ We stayed 2 nights, really only to sleep there - we were in for a funeral- so we didn’t bother to mention some things. In spite of some things, I would potentially stay there again, if need be. Not the worst place I’ve stayed in, not the best. Staff probably makes the biggest difference for me for a review. If I had mentioned the faucet thing, or other things, I do feel like they would have been taken care of.

- Jessica (10/5): Family friendly - Staff was super friendly, pool was awesome, the bed was super comfy.

- David (4/5): - The room was very antiquated. Looked like a room from the 1970s. There was a one inch gap under the door leading to outside allowing bugs and other pests to enter. There was a used plastic fork on the floor next to the table when i arrived. I would recommend driving 17 miles up the road to stay in Jackson. This is what I will do I ever have to stay here again.

- Gilbert (8/5): - The rooms were comfortable, dated and needing some repair. Door striker plates loose and gaps around door. Carpet needed good cleaning. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, bath exhaust fan was loud. Breakfast was good, pool area was nice. Noisy at times but main road was close, so that is to be expected. Fire dept and police across other road. Nice access to grocery and restaurants. Overall stay was good and would do again, for the money it is worth it.
- Kathy (2/5): - Driving into the property was not a good first impression. When we went to check in the lobby smelled terribly of smoke. A guest of the hotel was walking in with ammunition attached to his belt. We knew right away this wasn’t the place that felt safe for our grandchildren. We left the premises and didn’t stay. This was sad as the children had been traveling for hours and had to continue on until we found a suitable safe place to stay.
- John (8/5): Road trip stay over. - The property has a reception area resembling a 4 star hotel. Rooms are typically motel style. Only downside was the missing sink plug. Breakfast was exceptionally good with a nice choice of food,especially the mixed fruit option. Had a pool with a waterslide that would be appreciated by those with children. A pleasant 2 night stay.

- D'Ann (8/5): Sr citizen Harley Riders - They were so nice and polite. Room spotless. They even allowed us to park our Harley trike and trailer under the awning so it would be safe from the rain. So kind and put our minds at ease.
- Marion (8/5): - I left a note with some of the problems: 1. Toilet ws wobbly when sitting on it 2. Both shower gel and shampoo dispenser in shower were not functionable 3. Found a chocolate candy in carpet next to bed. Was melted in and hard to re.ove. 4. Also suggested that they at least have a small bar of soap at the sink to wash hands after using bathroom. The room was quiet and beds were comfortable.

- Kate (8/5): - The staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was overall fine and bed was very comfortable. The building itself and rooms could use a little updating and maybe a bit more attention in cleaning but overall good value for the price.
- Tom (4/5): Needs help! - Paint chips, scratched furniture. Lumpy bed mattress. Toilet ran every time it was flushed. Cold fried eggs for breakfast.
- Jeff (10/5): - Small rural town but several good places to eat, staff recommended some. Chose this town on visit to see the famous mounds because of low crime rates compared to many other towns in the region, perhaps it is because Henderson town has a religious college. Room was quite clean, though maybe some chipped paint, a little carpet fraying, worn edges on some furniture. Heat pump worked perfect, with digital controls. Pictures of lobby and rooms are accurate. Pool was drained as it was not yet open for the season. Staff said it is a very popular attraction in the summer. Breakfast included hot items, eggs sausage and biscuits, and OJ and milk in jugs in a fridge rather than out of a electric dispenser. I like the jugs here better. Waffles are in the freezer and there's a toaster. There are some old bad reviews from a group many years ago who was here at a conference and left a ridiculously huge amount of cash in a room which then went missing. Obviously the person who did that faced justice. But more important, the owners went out and bought programmable safes for every room so that such a thing can not happen again. I recommend this place. The main negative was you can hear people in the room above walking around which woke me a few times.

- Carolyn (8/5): - Door Lock didn't work properly, and really need more blankets. Breakfast could have offered individual fruit juice instead of out of a gallon jug. Not a sanitary way to enjoy breakfast. We passed on that.
- Charles (10/5): Best hotel in a long time!!! ☕🥞💯 - The staff was very friendly very helpful no problems anything you ask for they was right there to give it to you ladies at the front desk was real helpful with getting my booking right can't thank them enough!!! Great atmosphere I would definitely stay here again!!!!

- Roxie (10/5): - The inn was located away from heavy traffic in an area of calm and quiet. Coffee was provided in the room and a delicious Southern breakfast was available in the dining area. The staff was friendly and helpful with local directions. We will stay there again.

The towels were all stained and yellow. There were holes all over in the walls. I have photos of all this. I would add them if I could.
