- Vladislav (10/5): Highly recommended - Very clean, comfortable apartment and exceptionally welcoming host

Scoate botosii, pune botosii. In concluzie, nu m-as mai duce vreodata sa stau acolo.

- desmond (4/5): Overpriced but clean and convenient. - Clean and close to the train station for a convenient stay if you need to go to the airport early. Very basic offering for a relatively high price. Room was under equipped. No hooks, only one power socket, very small table, no bedside lights (just one very powerful overhead light with a switch near the room door), no lift and steep stairs. Nothing terrible, just not what i would expect for the price.

- iscarj (2/5): The worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. - The worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life.
First they left me sleeping on the street because our flight was delayed and we couldn't arrive before 10 p.m., which was the latest check-in time. So we arrived around 12 p.m. and had to find another hotel and pay for another night after we'd already paid.
We stayed for a week, and they never cleaned the room. There was one, and when we asked them why they didn't clean it, they told me we had to tell them and also pay an additional fee of €30, which seems like a scam to me since I've never been to a hotel where you have to pay extra to clean your room.
We also had to ask them for clean towels because they didn't have any. Overall, it was terrible. I don't recommend it to anyone.

- Zsolt (4/5): Disappointing, rude owners, stressful, strange rules. Avoid this place. - Goog location I booked a room for my wife and my daughter for 1 night. Me and my son walked them up to the appartment but the two of us had flights booked for that evening so we had no intention of staying there. The lady who checked us in sold us an upgrade for 90 lei for a room with AC which we accepted. We gave her 100 lei and she said she will give us the 10 lei change later. She was quite rude when she saw that the four of us appeared but I made it clear that we don't sleep there. She told us that we're only allowed to stay there 30 minutes. This was incredibly rude but to avoid onflict, my son and I left within 30 minutes and all of us walked in the hot city until the evening. Then we all went back to the hotel so that me and my son take our bags and leave to the airport. The owner (i think) waited for us and told us again that oly the paying guest are allowed to stay in the rooms. We only stayed a couple of minutes in the room, got our bags and left to the airport. The girls stayed in the room. On that evening I contacted them on booking asking for an invoice for the money we payed for the upgrade and sked them to give my wife the change in the morning. Then they started a big argument with us. They were asking us to pay because we (the boys) might have used the shower or toilet. They were incredibly stressful and made our whole stay insane. We never got an invoice for the upgrade, never got the change back. My wife and daughter were afraid all night that they would be charged in the morning more money and for a possibly conflict with the owner.
I do not recommend this place to anybody. Avoid this plase.

- Robert (4/5): Asked for a twin at booking given a double -
- Anonymous (2/5): Unfortunately, disappointment - There were bugs in the room, unfortunately the hygiene was zero.
- Erik (10/5): Calm and near train station. - Calm and quiet area. Friendly woman in receptionist. Also quiet during night.
I had booked the smallest room whit shower, like the pictures.
- Pavlo (7/5): Good - No soap / shampoo, It says free shuttle service to and from the airport, but it's chargeable
- Laura (4/5): Very unpolite person as hotel representative - the position close to the main train station (Gare de nord). When I arrived the gate of the Vila was closed/locked, I called and asked how can I get in and the "hotel person" arrogantly replied "from the gate, of course". We got an unpleasant discussion and the representative of the hotel told me that, in fact they don't have any room available. So they cancelled my booked room. I informed booking.com and I got other room in the nearby. Of course, I dot recommend this establishment where there is not respect for the people.
- Alexandru (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denys (9/5): Superb - I had a great stay, and everything was as advertised in the booking.
Since renovations are still ongoing, a few minor things were not yet completed, like the bathroom curtains. A small table in the room would also be a nice addition.
Aside from that, everything was perfect, especially the outstanding customer care. My check-in was very late, but Andrea personally called to ensure everything was okay and even provided complimentary coffee. Truly amazing service!
- Roberts (10/5): Great stay - Location was amazing, staff are lovely and friendly! N/A
- Ivanova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrii (7/5): Good -
- Igor (6/5): Pleasant -
- Obreja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denis (2/5): - There were no rooms available but they still advertised and accepted payment. This place is not to be trusted. They are scammers who advertise on expedia and tell customers their is no rooms available when you arrive.
- 2022michaelm (4/5): Rude owner - We stayed for one night...The owner was extremely rude to us. Although we paid extra for a room with a bathtub, when we arrived at the location we were given a room with a shower. after long discussions we would receive a room with a bathtub, but we could not use it because we did not have a plug. After reporting the problem, the owner gave us an extremely rude answer, these are exactly the words used: ,,we gave you the suite with the bathtub (but this does not mean that you can fill the bathtub) ... because the amount of water consumed in relation to the total consumption of the reserved room is not justified.'' In terms of the accomodation the room was clean.
- 36marcui (10/5): Excellent - A great location, friendly staff, everything clean and a safe place . Good coffee in the morning and a quiet place … I really recommend this place … modern, well equipped and renovated rooms… good bed, goood size comfortable.
- noetnoet (2/5): Horrible room and staff - It smells, gives a dirty feeling and has a broken shower
The owners are extremely rude. We talked to them about the defects and they laughed at us.
We had a very unsafe feeling. We booked 2 nights and fled the last one
- Verified traveler (6/5): It's a HOSTEL - I've been told by Expedia that I'm booking a hotel. What I got was a small room with no private bath and bunk beds. Thankfully I didn't have to share the room and the place was relatively clean. A crazy old lady was screaming from the balcony at me when I came back from dinner but.. everything else was ok. For one night :)
- roxanaf626 (4/5): Rude owner - We stayed there for two nights... At the beginning, the owner seemed to be very kind but during our last night there a friend came to visit us and asked him to leave. Furthermore, when my husband paid the bill the owner asked for a different price. In terms of the accommodation we were pretty pleased,it was clean.
- 339ecaterinav (10/5): Perfect - It was extremely clean and comfortable! The staff love their work and is tastable. I felt at home, very good location for my purposes, cosy, close to the Old Center. Towels and bedding very clean. The vibe of the place is amazing . Maybe breakfast in the morning will be a good ideea and this place will be perfect. I ll come back. Thank you for everything!!
- bellehav (10/5): Excellent - Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. I Stayed at this hostel but more than half of it looks like a 3 stars hotel during my business trip to Bucharest. Clean rooms. The hostel is very accesible from the North Railway Station. The owner and the reception desk welcomed us in a perfect english and all of them was very polite friendly. Our room was very spacios, was a suite with one bedroom at a very good price. I will come back this summer.
- sn420 (2/5): I do not recommend and here's why... - I first book a reservation through Orbitz and paid with my cc. When I arrived there the guy (owner) asked if I wanted to pay € or Ron in cash. I was a bit confused bc I thought I already paid for a night, but I paid him anyways and he showed me a room in the muggy smelling basement. I paid for a single room and the owner took me to a 4 bed dorm room. I had the spot to myself but only because there was literally no one there (wonder why). I then checked my cc to see if Orbitz already charged me for this room and to my surprise it was! I called Orbitz right away and Orbitz called the front desk and the owners wife gave them some excuse that she did not "refresh" her invoice and she did not see the payment. Luckily, I ended up getting my cash back. After this, I started to feel even worse being in there. The room smelled bad and little dead bugs all over the window and on the linen of all four beds. The place just started to feel really weird and I called orbitz back to see about getting a refund. Orbitz called the owners and they obviously refused to give my money back and said MAYBE in 10 days I'll be able to get my money back. I just left because these guys were so terrible at running a business and treating their guests like crap.
If anyone is considering this place for even a night bc of their low prices, don't be fooled. It's only to lure you in and take more from you and provide you with a bad room and bad service.
- KathmanduMazza (2/5): Misleading smelt of smoke, poor value - I had actually booked three nights next door, at Vila 11. The address showing at this place however (9/11) and the welcome (I was even picked up off the street as I was looking for the place) all made me think I'd come to the right place. I W's told that though I'd booked a single room, it was still occupied so I could have a small dorm to myself. I didn't have an attached bathroom as I'd booked but a shared bathroom that I was told would be exclusively for my use. It wasn't great but the excuse seemed valid. What I didn't relies till I returned at the end of my trip, having again booked for a room at Vila 11, was that they were misleading me into believing that this was their next door competitor! When I asked for breakfast which was supposed to be included, and having been given a dorm room and shared bathroom again for the price of a single with attached bathroom breakfast included, I was sent away - the guy laughing his head off as he pointed next door. I had shown his wife my booking the night before when she'd said she had 'list all the bookings' and she had seen I'd booked a room at Vila 11 and not at their place. Fortunately I had only paid the one night. When I got a bit exasperated at the deception I was ordered to leave very rudely (I've never been insulted like this before). It was with great relief that next door I found the true Vila 11, a complete contrast to the place next door. It seems that this is a common scam, and I'm not the only person who has been misled.
Vila Maria smells of cigarette smoke throughout. The bathroom and rooms are clean enough, but no bins make it difficult to dispose of rubbish. There's no kitchen or means of making tea or coffee. It's expensive for what it is and it's only saving grace is its proximity to the station.
I wouldn't recommend the place especially for less next door, you have a much nicer room and no deception.
- journeyman (2/5): Wrong part of town - Wouldn't recommend using this hotel as in rough area of city and very basic facilities
- Bonniewillow (2/5): Don't go there - it's one big scam - La Vila Maria has one plus - it's really close to the train station. So if you have to catch an extremely early train this might still be an option. But be very careful and cautious, the owners will try to trick you into paying more. They told us that our room wasn't available and that the only other option they had were the suites (just big rooms really - no towels, no air-conditioning (terrible in summer)), which of course cost twice as much. The old lady who stays at the house, and who seemed very charming at first, made us pay right away. She didn't speak any English, which of course is fine, but after a while we were pretty sure, that the owners used this to their advantage. At first she understood us just fine but every time we actually asked for anything all of a sudden she had no idea what we were talking about. The actual owner only showed up to collect our money. He told us he didn't have any change on him, but that he'd give it to us later. We never saw him again and the old lady kept pretending she didn't understand what we wanted (we tried in several languages, including Romanian and gestures). That way we lost another 20€.
The "playground" for the kids btw is just an old broken plastic slide.
- TAEHO (2/5): the Worst hostel ever - I was forced to clean bathroom after shower(they told me the money I paid is only for a bed not for shower) and I couldn't see anyone at reception usually(I only saw them twice when I checked in and checked out). no printer no fridge. don't waste your time in this awful hostel
- JaneTeesalu (8/5): Nice guest house in a dodgy area - After we had been looking for accommodation in central Bucharest for few hours and everything was either full or offered only dorm rooms, we realized that we should look a bit further away from the center.
Found La Vila Maria from booking.com and headed that way. It is located just next to Gara De Nord station, 3km from old town.
We were welcomed by the owners husband, who showed us the room. But as he said that they have rooms with different prices and after asking to see a bit cheaper one, he for some reasons did not want to show us other rooms. Yes, the one we saw was big, clean and looked really nice...so we still decided to stay there.
We stayed at La Vila Maria for two nights, the room is very nice, spacious, with separate bedroom. The bed was huge and comfortable. The next two days we did not see neither the owner, nor her husband who welcomed us. But there was an old lady, who was friendly and kept an eye on everything. Yes, we also did not have toilet paper, but after asking some more, the lady brought three rolls of paper.
In general it was good decision to stay at La Vila Maria. It was really nice, quiet and calm, though the neighborhood was a bit suspicious.
- polezen (2/5): Owner kickes people out - We had a booking for 4 rooms, but whan we arrived, the owner told us didn't have anything but 4bed and 6bed dorms. When we were not happy about it, he turned off the wifi, so we weren't able to search for other option or complain, and then physically pushed us out of the property and locked the door.
- stefaniew299 (2/5): Disappointed! Never again - My boyfriend booked via hostelworld for the last day in Romania a double room (see pictures) and all we got was a room in the cellar with 4 beds. The reason was that the hostel was already full. No comment to our prebooking and prepay of 12% on hostelworld. We had to pay the normal price of 15€ each for that cellar room. We felt absolutely not welcome and the hostel is improvised, e.g. with a table behind the entry as a reception and over 10 hours no toilet paper in the bathrooms and so on. Please be aware and note, that the super-rating below is from their own description on hostelworld. Unfortunately a poor-quality stay in Bucharest.
- 994andreeas (10/5): Charmy, elegant, very good - La Vila Marie is located in București at less than 500 meters from the Railway Station and 10 minutes from Downtown. Any way to access public transport ( metro, tram, bus, taxi ) is performed in less than 2 minutes.
La Vila Marie has easy acces and a perfect location for a stay in Bucharest for Both businessmen and tourists in transit, creates an elegant atmosphere where relaxation in guaranteed.
La Vila Marie offers free Wi- fi, parking, private Bath, playground for children, tv.
