Guest Reviews
- Fiona (10/5): - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Beautiful eco lodge, tuk-tuk friendly, and accommodating with charging"
I stayed at Kaduruketha Eco Lodge and had a lovely experience. I drove my tuk-tuk to nearby waterfalls, which was a great adventure. The staff were very accommodating – they agreed to charge my tuk-tuk without any fuss. The natural setting is peaceful and perfect for travelers looking to explore the area on their own wheels. Recommended for independent travelers with tuk-tuks! Nothing really.

- Paula (1/5): Terrible, don’t come. - The property was old and dirty, not at all as reflected in Booking neither in their website. The room was extremely dirty, like too much. Very very very dirty. Chairs stained, mosquito nets broken, curtains full of dust. Very bad.
- Pierre (10/5): -
- Hendrik (10/5): Relaxing and calm - The staff is super friendly and caring. The GM Kingsley help us a lot, thanks again!
- Subi (10/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Great and authentic agro-tourism experience. - Great hotel for those seeking an authentic agro-tourism experience. The property faces lush paddy fields, perfect for a leisurely walk or a bike tour. Informative materials are available throughout on the hotel’s concept, its commitment to local communities and sustainable practices, and its day-to-day operations. The staff are welcoming, the cabins are nice, and the grounds are home to peacocks, goats, and cows — adding to the rural ambiance. It is slightly far away from Ella (45 min) which is perfect for a retreat (the hotel has a spa) but remains a bit far to do the main landmarks.
- Baptiste (10/5): - Super service

- Tamas (10/5): A hidden gem where luxury meets the rice fields! - This hotel is truly something special. The bungalow setup is incredibly unique, offering total privacy while feeling completely immersed in nature. The highlight for me was the open-air bathroom—there is nothing like showering under the sky with high-end amenities.
The dining experience was a total surprise; it felt like staying at a fine-dining restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner featured a "special menu" rather than standard hotel fare. Every dish was sophisticated, high-quality, and packed with rich, complex flavors.
The connection to the rice fields is seamless and breathtaking, providing a deep sense of peace. After a long day of exploring, the pool was the perfect place to refresh and soak in the views. If you want a mix of rustic beauty and five-star culinary quality, stay at this Hotel!
- Veerle (6/5): - The best location, in the middle of the rice fields surrounded by the mountains. The accommodation needs to be refreshed.
- Sara (10/5): amazing stay at this hotel, super friendly service -

- Pavitra (10/5): excellent stay - the view was exceptional. a true nature filled stay. my kids enjoyed it, and we left with our hearts filled with contentment. the bathroom was open concept, it was lovely with sound of crickets and frogs, but the shower area could have had a shelter , in case if it rains we could still be able to take a shower.otherwise it was lovely.
- Clemence (9/5): - Wonderful place ! Peaceful, close to nature. Lovely team and the hotel manager is extremely nice, staying very close to the customers and making sure everything is alright.
For the runner, there is a nice path to run around the rice fields in the morning ;) Nothing ! We had a great stay and it’s a good location to disconnect and recharge
- Dharshana (9/5): -
- Rebecka (6/5): -
- Alice (8/5): Beautiful hotel - The views, the room, the swimming pool, the food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable and room was gorgeous. The beds near the swimming pool need umbrellas as only a small number of the beds can have shade at the moment. It also took a long time to get drinks but overall it was really very lovely.
- Guido (10/5): Jungle luxury - Position, service, restaurant, architecture, pool, room bathroom. Nothing
- Chris (9/5): Relaxing stay. It really grows on you. Worth two more days than what we had planned - The calm surroundings and carefully kept fields all around. Staff was friendly and always caring -
- Leila (10/5): -
- Steffy P. (10/5): -
- alexandra (9/5): Gorgeous paddy fields with an authentic resort in the heart of nature - Gorgeous location in the middle of paddy fields and forest lots of wild animals beautiful birds insects. Very serene and authentic place it’s has its unique charm. We had half board , Sri Lankan breakfast was outstanding and great dish selection for dinner 🍽️ lovely pool in front of the restaurant with shallow areas great for small kids We haven’t had any introduction to the place, just before our departure we discovered their was a river unfortunately we had no more time to go explore it. Very little customer service it would be nice if someone could show us around and give a bit of guidance where to go and what to do.
- Paweł (10/5): -
- Quitterie (10/5): Wonderful - Wonderful stay !
The bungalows and their outside bathroom are absolutely beautiful. Just lay down by the pool, enjoy the view and relax. Breakfast : not many options, and small portions.
- Olivia (9/5): - Absolutely stunning setting with wild peacocks, lovely wildlife and a stunning pool. Very kind staff and we did a wonderful night walk with the naturalist which we loved, seeing flying squirrels and lots of frogs. Highly recommended!
Personal amabilisim i molt atent.

Repas excellents
- Serge (9/5): - Wonderful place and environment with the e monkeys and peacocks !
The view from the swimming pool on the mountain Far from Ella, which is very nice for the evenings : a lot of restaurants to do
- Mattijn (9/5): Zeer de moeite waard - Locatie perfect. Vriendelijke mensen. Spreken goed Engels. Rustgevend. Kamers relatief eenvoudig tov de prijs.
- David (10/5): - Beautiful, tranquil hotel with amazing views. Food was excellent and service was exceptional. We will definitely come back again, but for a longer stay.
- Litia (10/5): Wonderful family experience - We had such a wonderful time at Jetwing. The food was delicious and the staff were incredible, especially with our children (4 years and 2 years). We were happily surprised with all the experiences that were available. My husband enjoyed the traditional Sri Lankan cooking experience, we also enjoyed traditional tea, the afternoon paddy walk with the in-house naturalist and the boys collected fresh eggs from the hens each morning and loved feeding the goats (Cookie and Cream). We would love to visit here again. Thank you again to the hotel and staff for such a thoughtful offering.
- Litia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (10/5): Exceptional -
- João (4/5): Disappointing - The setting Old hotel! Need an urgent upgrade
Not a five star for sure. For European standards likely a 2 star
Very overpriced for what it is. Should costing less than 60 dollars per night
The room wasn’t clean as it should, the bathroom had a smell of sewage
At 6 AM wake up with construction noise.
The breakfast was terrible
- Philip (10/5): - What a beautiful oasis! A super relaxed and peaceful place to stay - staff are excellent. Will definitely come again.
- April (10/5): It was like heaven on earth! - This place is absolute heaven! The views were breathtaking. The food was delicious and the staff were so accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. The location was perfect. There is not one thing about this place that I did not like.
- Chasity (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (5/5): Don’t waste your money if expecting luxury - The food and the service were amazing This hotel is not good value for money. If you are visiting expecting 5star accommodation it is 3 at best for a 5 star price tag. The food and the service were amazing but the quality of the facilities in the room are very poor. The room has no walls, its wooden slats and netting, and all the netting has holes in it so the bugs are free to enter. A mosquito net was provided for the bed but then there’s no where to sit and the mosquito net was dirty, the blinds need a good wash and the bathroom was very grotty with a lot of mould on the floor. It is glamping with a hotel pool. It is an eco hotel and if it’s what you are expecting that’s fine but we paid a lot of money for this hotel and were extremely disappointed as it was sold as 5 star and we were on our honeymoon.
- Arantzazu (10/5): Relax, peace and calm - This place has been a great discovery on our visit to Sri Lanka, a place to remember. The landscape surrounded by mountains and rice fields, the sunset, the cabins, the very friendly and close staff, Nana (the restaurant manager) and the people who worked with him, the quietness and tranquility of the place. And especially the food, my husband and I are lovers of gastronomy and in this place we have enjoyed flavors, the quality of nearby and local food and a formidable chef. We had a massage at the Spa and it was really good. Although this experience would not have been the same without the attention and care of Saduni, her treatment, help and attention at all times were excellent as well as the ability to solve and manage when we needed it. She has been a great gift. The mosquitos!!! 😂😂
- Andrew (10/5): A truly wonderful experience, our best stay in Sri Lanka - We had a sense of being in nature, we liked the eco credentials which were evident in the insect and bird life. The design and layout of the main area are in harmony with the land, and the slope. The staff -especially Dillani, Sanduna and Chef - were wonderful. Our driver - Tharindu Lakmal - was also a hero taking us to our next destination. Nothing to dislike at all, we stayed only two nights and would have stayed longer but they were fully booked.
- Ines (10/5): Perfect tranquility. - Amazing place in the middle of Tranqil nature. Beautiful arranged, beautiful little houses, amazing food, amazing staff that really understands to accommodate all your needs and which is also great with kids. You really get pampered. Also really do a spa treatment - also best one we had on our travel through Sri Lanka. -
- Annabel (8/5): Very good - Location is great. The ethos of the company is excellent
- Onella (9/5): Superb -
- Rosie (7/5): Good -
- Janitha (8/5): - Overall my stay was great. The view and peacocks were beautiful. The food was also great. Only complaint I have is there was a mouse that entered our room. The hotel provided a mouse trap which did catch the mouse. Keep in mind that this room is outdoors so you may see insects and mosquitoes in your room.
- Sophia (6/5): Amazing staff and food, but by no means a luxury hotel. This felt more like “camping” with huts. Not good value for mone - The staff were incredible, they did so much for us and treated us like family. The setting in nature was cool The facilities were all a bit aged, I don’t think this property is well maintained. The toilet seat in our room came off whilst I was using it. The books in the library were sticky and dusty. The bed felt old. The cot of the baby was broken
- Beatrice (9/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful location with great food. - Food was exceptional! The setting was so beautiful surrounded by rice paddy fields. Staff were really friendly too. No fault of the hotel, but the music/chanting from the nearby temple was constant until about midnight which although authentic, did make for a less peaceful stay. The music could especially be heard in the rooms at night/morning (when we were in the room). Would be nice if the scrub directly in front of rooms were landscaped better to improve the view from the rooms.
- Søs (10/5): Exceptional - Delicious food, excellent pool and great activities. Stunning views all over and very comfortable rooms.
- Stephan (10/5): Fantastic empathetic staff with a brilliant focus on sustainability and culture - Jetwing Kaduruketha is a true eco-paradise that offers an exceptional and harmonious experience with nature. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a staff that goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort and well-being. The service is truly outstanding, with special mention to F&B manager Sanduni, who exemplifies the staff’s commitment to guest satisfaction. Even the General Manager’s genuine warmth and approachability add to the welcoming atmosphere.
The resort’s dedication to sustainability is evident in every aspect of its operations. The food served is a testament to this commitment, with many ingredients harvested directly from the property’s organic gardens. This farm-to-table approach not only ensures freshness but also minimizes the resort’s environmental impact. The attention to detail in the cuisine is remarkable, offering guests a truly authentic and delicious Sri Lankan culinary experience.
What sets Jetwing Kaduruketha apart is its deep connection to the surrounding community. Through initiatives like the Thrive program, the resort empowers and upskills local women, creating a symbiotic relationship between the property and the village. This commitment to community development showcases Jetwing’s dedication to responsible tourism and creating a positive impact beyond its boundaries.
The resort offers a range of bespoke experiences that allow guests to immerse themselves in the local culture and natural beauty. Participating in a cooking class to prepare a full Sri Lankan lunch is not only educational but also a delightful way to connect with the local cuisine. The surrounding landscape provides ample opportunities for wildlife enthusiasts, especially birdwatchers, with numerous species to be spotted during your stay.
- Nisreen (9/5): Superb - The pool is gorgeous. The food is very good but the portions are ENORMOUS. The service staff is excellent, especially Faizal who was extremely helpful with advice and information. The mosquitos! Also, I expected a more impressive spa in a property like this one.
- Yannis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashley (7/5): Good - Beautiful location with stunning views from the pool and restaurant. The staff were exceptional, especially the restaurant staff who were so friendly and helpful. The mosquito net worked fine and I didn’t there any issues with bugs in my room. Although I knew the hotel was outside of Ella, I wasn’t aware that the cost of transport in this area is more than double what I was paying in other areas of Sri Lanka. I would organise transport to and from this hotel before you arrive as using the hotel’s taxi service is crazy expensive. The rooms also don’t look like the website, they’re very outdated and rundown. Rooms very dark as well. The outdoor shower was fine, but could use a bit of maintenance. Also curious as to what happens when it rains. People just can’t use the bathroom?
- Swarnim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Udi (7/5): Good -
- Georgina (10/5): Would stay longer than one night. - Liked everything…staff were brilliant, so helpful and caring. Our paddy view room was really lovely, comfortable bed and great bathroom. Pool was fantastic, 25m long and very clean and warm. We had half board and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Loved the location, just wish we’d booked and extra night to explore the surrounding area. Nothing
- Yael (10/5): A peaceful gourmet oasis. - The location, in a small village, away from the busyness of Ella was so relaxing. The environment was calm and peaceful (except the local temple chanting, which was lovely, just not peaceful 😄). The food was the standout. Every dish was sublime and the service impeccable and knowledgeable. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): paradise next to the rice fields - amazing place surrounded by nature. great food. beautiful pool. but the best is the lovely team. thx for your warm welcome that we stayed just one night :(
- Gillian (5/5): They call themselves Eco? - The location was lovely. Staff were great. Lovely pool It said in the listing that they were built so that you didn't need air conditioning. That isn't the case in our opinion. We were absolutely melting and didn't get much sleep.
On arrival we were in a lounge with a TV and boards promoting the environment and teaching veganism. We had to fill out a form with our food preferences and allergies to which we put vegan.
When we went for dinner the menu was full of meat. Only one vegan option, Dahl, which we had for lunch and breakfast. My husband ended up with veggie burger and I had a tiny frozen margarita pizza. After bringing this to their attention they refunded the price of the burger and pizza but it doesn't really make up for lack of consideration.
It was by far the most expensive hotel we have stayed in and to end up with frozen pizza in a world where veganism and healthy foods are important, this was totally unacceptable.
I hope they rectify this quickly
- pramoda (8/5): - Very ineresting property that is quiet and serene. Staff is extremely friendly, kind and helpful but definitely need more training to be employed at a "five star" facility.
Also, the facility has NO airconditioning and was extremly hot, humid and uncomfortable.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shintaro (10/5): - This hotel is located in a beautiful, nature-rich setting with a magical atmosphere. The staff were incredibly hospitable and made our stay even more special. The curries we had at the restaurant were absolutely delicious and unforgettable. From check-in to check-out, every moment was filled with excitement, making it one of the most memorable hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I’m truly satisfied with choosing this place for our stay.
- Kineret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dylan (9/5): Stunning location and property. - Property is amazing, filled with wildlife. We did the night walk and although not seeing too much it was still a great activity with a knowledgeable guide. Pool is so relaxing with an amazing view. Food is some of the best we have had in Sri Lanka and the staff customer service is 10 out of 10. Minor things. Outdoor bathroom is very cool but does mean that there are some insects and small geckos around you. This did not bother us and we actually enjoyed the outdoor shower. Due to the fan being the only way to cool down it can be very loud in order to bring room to correct temperature. While this isn’t an issue for some people, If you require a quieter room to sleep then this may be a problem. But these were only minor things which can be expected as it was in an eco friendly lodge and it did not take away anything from the experience.
- Alessandro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoona (7/5): Good -
- Isabel (9/5): Amazing relaxing setting and food - The swimming pool and views were amazing and the staff were so lovely. The food at the restaurant was some of the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Just be aware that due to the rural location there are quite a lot of insects around which was evident in our outdoor bathroom. Not a negative but just be aware ahead of your stay, there is also a mosquito net around the bed so this helps a lot.
- Dhanushka (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): - Amazing service and food. Beautiful setting would have liked to stay longer
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect stay - The country side, the views, the food, the privacy, the excellent service Nothing
- E (8/5): Lovely hotel recommend for 2 nights - Beautiful hotel surrounded by nature however we stayed 4 nights and this was a bit too long as not much to do and far from Ella. Room wasn't huge and menu was quite limited for a 4 night stay.
- Kalina (10/5): Jaw-dropping paddy field views and serenity - The most jaw dropping and serene views - paddy field heaven! Full tranquility, incredible team of staff, and excellent food! Not a single thing that we didn’t like
- Niraj (9/5): Loved my stay for one night and enjoyed pool, cycling and food! - Loved everything about the hotel, staff and the whole experience. Not for the faint hearted 😁 My wife and daughter saw snake, Komodo dragons, lots of insects and bugs. I was ok but they were not very keen on the reptile/insects experience and seeing holes on the net in the bed.
- Omar (9/5): Superb - Location is accessible, near ella and the coast which is good, sets in a very beautiful land of rice fields with breathtaking views, we had a very beautiful nature and agriculture immersed experience, the restaurant is really good and the pool is amazing with an amazing view over the rice fields. Having no ac in the rooms is part of the concept of the place but in our stay in April it was pretty hot, there could be other green solutions to cool the room other than just a ceiling fan.
- Kristin (8/5): Relaxed quiet location close enough to make a day excursion to Ella - Lovely location surrounded by paddy fields against a backdrop of the mountains. Simple but comfortable rooms with great balconies. Helpful staff and good food. Kids really liked the bicycles
- Hella (10/5): Serene countryside and glorious food - The pool was beautiful! Also the view was of the paddy fields was very peaceful.
Best of all though was the food…utterly delicious, beautifully presented and true ‘from the field to the fork’ fare. The rooms would have been better with air conditioning
- Susan (9/5): Tranquil & beautiful rural location with lovely service. - This hotel is in a beautiful rural location off the beaten track and on the edge of the paddie fields. We loved the rooms which were very eco in style but it's worth noting you sleep under mosquito nets with ceiling fans - there is no A/C - we found this fine but our teenage kids were less keen! The setting is just wonderful and the pool fantastic. We ate at the hotel and really enjoyed the food - they had a mix of Sri Lankan and South Asian cuisine. Service was excellent. Each hut comes with mountain bikes - we enjoyed a quick cycle round the local area. We only had one night but wish we had more. The vast array of evening bugs were less to our kids liking - especially if you get a room with an open roofed bathroom!
- Tracey (10/5): Amazing experience staying in a cabin in the jungle. - Fantastic location and accommodation next to a paddy field. Staff couldn’t be more helpful.
- Corona (10/5): Relaxing stay in hill country - Very peaceful and calm, beautiful natural surroundings. Tastefully decorated and many lovely details. Lovely staff!
- Ani (6/5): Nice gateway away from modern civilization - Eco-friendliness, nice food. They offered bed space for driver for free. The location, convenience, amenities. It is good to be 3 star resort, never 5 star. The service quality is not for the price value for sure.
- Malcolm (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Wonderful relaxing stay in a very special location and superb accommodation and 5* dining
- Stephen (8/5): Beautiful rural setting - spacious room and terrace - Room was spacious with open air bathroom and terrace with wonderful panorama of paddy fields and hills
Farmland Teaming with wildlife
Front of house staff v. friendly Some personnel radiated a diffidence reminiscent of chain hotel where they were not personally committed to guest satisfaction
- Carolyn (10/5): Brilliant! - Stayed here in 2020 and loved it. Two night stay was fab. Did the night walk and the morning padi walk. Both fairly low key but interesting. Food is wonderful -beautifully presented and delicious. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Just loved our open air shower bathroom concept. Totally recommend the spa/massage.
- Husam (9/5): Superb -
- Timon (8/5): Beautiful setting for a short stay. - If you like to disconnect from stress and hectic this is the right place as the hotel is located in the rice paddies and very peaceful. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We stayed in a room at the rice paddies and the entrance door could not be properly locked which did not feel safe. Even if you locked it one could easily open it from outside. The same with the door to the outdoor bathroom. One needs to be aware that in the afternoon there are tiny flies around the pool area which are biting and it makes it very unpleasant to lay there.
