Guest Reviews
- Angela (8/5): House amazing-finance side major issue! - Beautiful home. Very clean. Payment should be verified prior to coming. I spent 4 to 5 days trying to figure out what was wrong with the payment technique as three major credit cards wouldn’t go through on their end so all I did was worry the entire time I was there on top of catching the flu and being sick. This was very inconvenient. I had to find other avenues to pay them. This clearly was not my problem as these were major credit cards it was a banking issue on their end. I have never had a single problem using any of my credit cards that have extremely large limits. Working with the staff there was a language barrier on both sides so that made it even more complicated. If payment would have been made prior to coming I wouldn’t have been in this position to worry kind of put a damper on my visit to Isla, I would clearly take the blame if I knew that my credit cards were an issue. One of them had a $25,000 limit with Wells Fargo with a zero balance. The second one was a major card with a $25,000 limit with a $500 balance the third one was a debit card that my bank clearly released the amount I say all of this because the concern I had not having a place to stay definitely stressed me out it all worked out in the end with a PayPal account I had to open, which credit card was linked to the Wells Fargo card that their bank wouldn’t accept. Probably won’t use them again.
- Stacey (10/5): - Stayed for 5 nights with 2 older children (12 and 14), my husband and my mother in law. Property was as advertised. The room was *exceptionally* clean! Like pristine. We did a lot of cooking so appreciated the well stocked kitchen and that the knives were sharp.
Communication with the host was easy and quick. One minor issue (stove ran out of gas) was tended to quickly. Helpful in organizing a golf cart for delivery to the room.
The Chedraui is an easy 1 km walk away; smaller local fruit/veggie store even closer in the opposite direction. Neighbourhood felt safe. Pool was lovely. Would definitely book again.
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brooks (10/5): - Really great house. Very clean and nice. We stayed 5 nights with 2 children. They contacted taxis for us and set us up with a golf cart for much cheaper than the usual rental fee. The grocery store is very close and affordable. 10 minute drive to north beach. The pool is not heated, so depending on the season, you may not want to use it. They cleaned every other day, which was very nice to come to after a day at the beach. Will definitely stay again.
- John (10/5): - This property is spacious and well kept, great for a family. The location is 700m to a supermarket and is an easy cab or golf cart ride to downtown. Our host, Mariana, was very responsive and very helpful with offers for arranging transportation and other assistance.
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (8/5): Very nice apartment - The apartment was spacious, very clean, and functional. The pool and pool deck were very nice, and larger than they appear to be in the photos. The manager is very responsive and helpful. The bedrooms don't get very dark, thanks to exterior lights and curtains that don't quite block that light. Occasionally it can be noisy from the street or other guests.
- Tyler (10/5): - Villa Keh was a great place! Super clean, quite and the property managers were fantastic! They helped with taxis when needed (Jorge and his brother are awesome) and had a spot right in front of Villa for our golf cart. Pool was clean and the lights are reslly relaxing at night. I would stay again!
- Sondra (10/5): - Liked the mid island location and easy access to all areas
- Troy (7/5): villas keh - everything was clean and seemed new.staff was great very helpfull mattress uncomfortable, no stove, the view,
- Illiana (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Villas Keh!!! Mariana was so attentive and very helpful with any questions we had. Would highly recommend and definitely would stay here again on future trips to Isla!!!
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (10/5): - Es una Excelente Propiedad, solo haría la observación de que NO CUENTA CON ESTACIONAMIENTO, en lo personal no me siento seguro dejando mi vehículo en la calle, sin embargo no tuve ningún inconveniente.
- Raisa (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): - This was a great private little house. This being our first time in Mexico, we weren’t too sure at first about the location. The area seemed a bit rundown. After we had a chance to explore the island, we realized that other than the resort areas, this is the island’s way. The location is central to the island so it was easy to get to either end of the island by golf cart. I had read a review that the owner had set up a taxi to pickup from the ferry so I asked her to do that for us too. She also provided a golf cart for an extra fee. I did not know ahead of time that the golf cart would be required to be paid in cash- that would have been helpful to know upfront. She was very responsive to messages. The water cooler ran out of water and she had some brought over in just over an hour. It is also near the local grocery store. She arranged a taxi to return to the ferry on our last day as well. Having two bedrooms each with their own bathrooms was nice too.
- Edith (10/5): - The property was super clean, very new, and beautifully decorated. There were 3 tvs, and 3 ACs. The kitchen was fully equipped. The beds were super comfortable. Mariana, the manager, answered all emails fast, and was very nice.
We enjoyed this villa a lot!
- Omar Felipe (10/5): - La villa 1 está excelente, muy limpia y todos sus servicios funcionan bien.
- Robin (10/5): A Mid-Island Gem We'll Definitely Return To - This was our fourth visit to the island and our first time staying at Villas Keh. We were very impressed. The location is perfect for us, mid island, away from the craziness of Playa Norte but still close to everything via golf cart or short taxi ride. This property in particular is walking distance to a few favorites: Oscar’s Grill, La Hach, and Cochinita Pios. The unit was immaculately clean when we arrived and re-cleaned (and stocked) every other day. That was a huge perk for us as we usually rent houses rather than "hotels". Fresh water was provided in a water cooler that also had a hot water dispenser. Another huge perk! The showers are large with consistently hot water, the beds are big and comfortable, and there are plugs and mirrors everywhere which makes the unit very user friendly. The AC is exceptionally cold and we had to set it pretty high if we used it at all. It was nice having AC in the living area as well as many properties on the island don’t. We didn’t use the patio much, but I would have liked to have taken advantage of the provided grill—just didn’t have the time. I also regret not taking advantage of the pool which was also immaculate and vacant during our stay. All in all, a great mid-island option that’s clean, comfortable, easy, and really pays attention to detail. We definitely recommend!
- W (9/5): Superb - Very clean property. Truly attentive staff with very good communication. Very helpful with arranging for cabs. Two good restaurants within easy walking distance. Property was very comfortable. Nice to have a swimming pool. I thought it might be a little overpriced for a property not on the water.
- Amy (10/5): - Darling little house perfect for a party of 5. The pool was a nice extra we really enjoyed. And the AC blew wonderfully. The power went out one night but was back on shortly. Would def stay here again.
- Dragana (10/5): - Our stay at the Villa Keh was exceptional. Mariana went above and beyond to help us with all of our needed.
Our flight was canceled and we needed to adjust our stay for 1 day less, she immediately adjusted our reservations without any penalties. She arranged a cab to pick us up from the ferry, and also arranged a golf cart with an amazing rate.
The villa was exceptionally clean and very specious with 2 master bedrooms each with their own bathrooms. Kitchen comes fully equipped.
Mariana also arranged housekeeping for us with no extra charge.
The location is amazing, Close to Oscar's Italian restaurant and few other great restaurants nearby. The city center and Playa Northe is only 8 min golf cart ride away, but we enjoyed piece and quite at the Villa away from the main tourist area.
I highly recommend this place. We'll certainly be back again:)
- Michael (8/5): Thumbs up for family trip! - Good location if you don't want to be in the north beach area, which is more touristy. You will want to take a taxi from the ferry because there are places without sidewalks along the way. It's only around 50 pesos.
Our children, 9 and 11, loved the pool even though it was small. They also loved being able to put up hammocks to sleep in their room.
There is a popular pizza place basically half a block away on the main road. There is also a grocery store - Cheddauri - a short taxi/golf cart ride away.
If we had to do it over again, we would rent a golf cart. The hotel provided one the first day and it was great to tour the island and offered more flexibility than taxis away from the tourist area. I think it was 550 pesos a day.
The only disappointing part was that when we went to pay, they charged us about $40 to use a card. We went to 3 different ATMs to get pesos and avoid the charge before we just gave up. All 3 ATMs were out of cash. Overall, we would stay here again and the staff was very helpful and prompt aside from the fee.
- Pramod (10/5): Very nice place for families with kids. - Our children very much for enjoyed the apartment and pool. Clean house. Friendly staff. Supermarket close by. Adults can walk/run end to end of Isla Mujeres. Quiet nights. They own couple golf carts to rent which are better than from rental places..
- Sylvia (10/5): Nice and clean - Staff was very accommodating, picked us up from and to the ferry, rented us a golf cart at a very reasonable price, made sure we had everything we needed, I highly recommend this villa.
- Michelle (6/5): Not what I was expecting... - I received a confirmation e-mail from the hotel manager reminding me of our stay. We had been told the hotel would provide transportation from the ferry terminal to the hotel. After waiting for 20 minutes in front of the terminal, the hotel manager located us and led us to the golf carts they had brought to carry the four of us and our 6 bags of luggage to the hotel. They did not offer to help with getting the bags to the carts, nor did they assist with loading the bags. The hotel itself is attractive and the pictures shown on the website are accurate. However, the neighborhood is very poor and run down, not at all what we were expecting. It turned out we were the first guests to occupy the second floor suite. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel is not set up to accept credit cards, so we paid in cash. There is no daily maid service, and small amenities such as a sponge to wash dishes, dish towels, a broom (there was a dust pan), and other small items were not provided. The hotel provided clean towels and toilet paper, upon request. There was no trash bin outside to take trash to, and there were no trash bags provided, so the trash did pile up during our stay. My main complaint is that Hotels.com gave this hotel a 4-star rating, even though we were only the second guests to stay there. I'm not sure what they based this rating on, but I would only give the hotel a 2-star rating, at best.
