Room was clean overall, but a floss stick was left in the bathroom and my 2 year old daughter got a hold of it. The shower did not work correctly, but it did work. Breakfast was great. Overall a good experience though.

- Vanessa (6/5): - Rented the 1 bedroom suite with sofa bed separate seating area. Size was comfortable and kitchen and fridge size were also very comfortable. The only thing was a roach came out by the sofa. I reported it to them, they did send someone to fumigate right away, but I was not as happy as they did not offer a room change, discount, or empathy to waking up to the roaches. The night staff and cleaning teams were amazing though. Easy parking also.

- Alicia (6/5): - We were checked into our room and they were not done cleaning the room from prior guest. The beds had been changed and a pile of dirty towels was left on the floor just outside of our room. The bathroom, however, we later realized had not been cleaned. Housekeeping entered the room a couple minutes after our arrival, apologized and ran out of the room. I tried to speak to her but she did not speak English. Using google translate she replied yes and then crossed the room off of her sheet. We were only in the room long enough to drop our stuff and run out. When we arrived back after 10 pm and took a shower, there was both pubic hair and other hair on the floor, shower and sink. Makes me wonder if the toilet was cleaned or not. Definitely grossed out. Left a message for hotel manager with front desk. Due to expedia payment, i was told no discount could be given but they would see what they could do. We will see tomorrow when the manager calls me.

Also they have sensor lights throughout which was a bit inconvenient because they came on at night if someone had to use the restroom. And aslo shut off if you were in the shower. Free breakfast was definitely lacking. Again overall it was just ok. I would most likely select another hotel during our next stay in Gainesville.
- Lauren (10/5): - Clean, quiet and nice hotel. Parking and check in was easy. Lots of space in one room for 6 which made it more affordable. Conveniently located to dollar general, convenient stores and restaurants (walking distance) the pool was nice, clean and warm in march with self serve pool towels available. Nice small gym with washer and dryer access. Continental breakfast was a nice gesture but was not good. They had a small selection that wasnt as fresh as i would like at 8 am. Milk was very low fat(watery) some may prefer it that way. Just not a southerns idea of breakfast

- Carolina (10/5): Not on Archer Road - yay! - Great, quiet location - less than 5 minutes from Sorority Row, convenient to downtown & across the street from la Tienda Mexican restaurant. The hotel provides a nice breakfast. The rooms and facilities are clean. Rooms are studios with fairly complete kitchens. There’s a small gym on premises, too
- Ryan (2/5): Bad experience at checkin - We checked in late but were locked out and there was no staff at the front desk to open the door to let us in. I asked where they were (two staff members) when they finally came back to open the door and they said they were “checking on something” and that was all. I reached out to the manager via phone and email after the stay and never heard back.
- David (10/5): Outstanding hotel - We were all pleasantly surprised at how large our rooms were. Best stocked kitchen in a hotel we’ve ever seen. Even had a dishwasher and garbage disposal. Loved the larger sized refrigerator too. Wonderful continental breakfast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was near several restaurants and UF Shands hospital. Would definitely stay there again.

There was a portable stovetop burner you could get at the front desk, but it wouldn't work, said it was getting too much voltage or something. The only other thing that wasn't great was that there were hairs in the shower. Overall, I would stay again, though.

- Tracy (2/5): - I have stayed here many times and always great!! not sure what’s happened in a year, but this place has gone completely downhill, we booked two rooms. We got there late so when we got to our room, it reeked of smoke even the hallway did the hotel was completely full, so another room was not an option. One of the guest couldn’t even stay in the roomWe talked to them about canceling this trip They let us know that you couldn’t do anything until the manager was in the morning. The manager Barbra absolutely the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with in the hospitality industry. We booked there hotels.com and they were trying to help us cancel this reservation to find out the phone lines were down for a day and a half so nobody answered, not sure how you run a hotel with the lines down I would never stay here again the place was dirty and just not prepared for a full hotel. We did not stay the second night and I would not ever go back to the hotel until the management took a better care of it. Very disappointing as this was a great hotel close to the campus.

Perhaps gauge a bit more regarding number of guests checked in, and the availability of items at breakfast. Many items ran out quickly, more than an hour before closing time. The ratio of breakfast items to guests was in the minus. The lobby areas in front of the elevators unfortunately need attending to. Perhaps the bins need deep cleaning and the carpet as well. There is a negative scent when exiting the elevators.

Was told it was due to renovations, yet there was no sign of construction, etc. They said it’s Expedia booked incorrectly and that I need to take it up with Expedia. It seemed like they were over booking.

- Ghida (2/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel for 10 days while waiting for my apartment to be ready. Everything was fine until my last day, when I had to check out. I lost track of time, went to my university&unfortunately forgot to check out. I received an email from the hotel informing me that my luggage was still in the room& that I needed to check out. I immediately called to apologize and said I would come to pick up my things.What happened next was beyond frustrating. The hotel told me they had already booked the room for another guest at a rate of $290, despite me originally paying $85 through the website.They claimed that the rate was higher that day, but they never informed me beforehand. I pleaded to remove the charge since it was an honest mistake,I was more than willing to vacate the room immediately. Their response? A cold, mean "No."When I arrived at the hotel, I found my room locked they refused to open it until I paid the $290. I didn't have a choice so I tried to pay in cash because I'm new to the US & don’t have a bank account yet.To make matters worse, they flat-out refused to accept cash!They only wanted payment via card which left me scrambling to find a place to load money onto a prepaid card. This process was completely unnecessary if they had just shown a bit of flexibility.By the time I finally managed to pay, I was beyond furious. I immediately moved to my apartment altho I have that night reservation.This hotel clearly does not care about its guests .

The day of arrival i was called from hotel to say the room i booked was not available due to renovations but I could have,a different toom with q queen bed and pull out sofa, being not from area i ok this change. The room was ok, I did mot see any renovations going on .I know jow this works if yoy book w Expedia they neec to be contacted in regards your reservation. I felt that if tge room they gave me was a different price than what I paid I shoukd be Credited the difference. Expedia didtry to contact but of course the manager was nit available .

- Sharon E (4/5): - it was dirty and run down. I picked the hotel because it had a good overall rating, but that was not the case at all. totally grimy and i could not wait to get out of there.
- Krista (6/5): - Emailed hotel to say we’d be arriving late. Arrived at midnight and after several attempts with the digital key, card keys, and staff master key, we couldn’t get into the room. Desk staff found out an earlier employee put someone in our room already because they booked 2 queens but were assigned a single queen. Desk staff tried multiple times to reach a manager and no one would respond. After almost 2 hours, she was able to get us into 2 separate single queen rooms instead of our double queen but one had a non-working tv. Our heads finally hit the pillows around 2:10 am. Despite all this I have to say Kay, the front desk employee, was amazing. She apologized over and over, pulled out both sleeper sofas for us, brought extra pillows and bedding, offered water, and really made every effort she could to assist.

- Robert (10/5): - This hotel was excellent!!! Very roomy , functional , clean , and the furniture was in new like condition . Whether it is a one night stay or multiple days , Hotel 2 is winner. And I am a frequent traveler , averaging 140 overnights per year. I’ve seen good and bad . You won’t be disappointed. Pet friendly is what swayed me to try Hotel 2.
- Evan (2/5): Terrible communication, don't stay here. - I showed up to check in 30 minutes after check in opened to be told my reservation has been cancelled. I had no call, email, text, or voicemail from them staying that. 1500 miles from home and no place to stay. The desk lady was not very helpful and said this is common to be overbooked and cancel the third party booking and charge more too the people who call direct. The manager wouldn't even come out of the office to talk. Multiple guests came down and reported problems with their runs while I was trying to get stuff sorted out. Phones not working and TV's that were missing. Hotels.com worked with me and got us in at Hotel Eleo and comped the difference. We had an awesome stay there, would not recommend Hotel2 Home Gainesville.
