Graham (4/5): - Based my booking on the content of the Devonshire Fell website including impressive photographs of the rooms. On arrival we climbed 2 flights of stairs to our room on the second floor To our dismay the room was very small,dingy,a stain on the duvet and claustrophobic and a million miles from the images portrayed on the website. A complete “rip off” in terms of the overpriced rates they are charging. My wife and I booked out and requested a refund We were told to contact Expedia for the refund. We were celebrating a special occasion. Extremely disappointing A notice on the one small window instructed us not to leave it open as midges will invade. Contacting Expedia to resolve.
DARREN (6/5): - Location is not good, you have to walk up or down the car lanes about 300 yards to get into town, or the park. Much wiser to stay at the lion inn which is safe, has better variety of food and no stodgy staff. We left the fell and are now in a 2 bedroom suite at the red lion for under the fell.
Vivien (8/5): - Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and we were given a complimentary upgrade to the suite, from which the views were stunning. Our dinner was so good we asked Alex the chef to come out and congratulate him on his skills. Our motif for our trip was to find a suitable venue for my wife's sixtieth birthday and the Devonshire Fell ticks every box for us and we will be booking it.

LINDA (10/5): Lovely stay at this beautiful dog friendly hotel - A mix up over dates on arrival was superbly handled with an upgrade and a bottle of champagne. Fabulous meal in the Burlington restaurant and lovely spacious room well worthy of a 5* hotel. Great walks from the door and even dogsitters whilst we had dinner and breakfast. We will definitely be back.

AG (8/5): Well situated in the Dales. Lovely views, - Nice stay, rooms clean and spacious but a touch up to wear and tear would make this a true luxury room. Breakfast v.nice and will vary on request. Winter visits might be troublesome in bad weather as roads are tight.
Delphine (10/5): Beautiful location in the Yorkshire Dales - Great location with beautiful views from the Hotel. Lovely walking right outside the front door! Cute village within walking distance with nice pub. Food at the hotel is excellent we had dinner, bed and breakfast included. Lovely staff and the other guests were friendly. Really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Note: There was no Elevator so luggage has to be taken up and down the stairs. Staff will help but if elderly or disabled make sure you ask if there are rooms available for you.

At all times staff were cheerful and helpful. The surrounding area is staggeringly beautiful. I couldn't speak more highly of staf, venue and area

Robert (10/5): Lovely hotel in stunning setting - A lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, had a drink in the garden looking out over the river Wharfe and across the valley in the stunning Yorkshire dales. Hotel was very comfortable, staff very helpful and dinner in the restaurant was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would consider staying again, may even take the dog next time as the hotel is dog friendly and they provide maps for some walks you can do.

Had dinner every night slightly expensive but food and choice was very good and worth the money all with excellent service. breakfast was a real treat all cooked to order with a choice of full traditional, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or continental.

Adele (10/5): Exceeded my Expectations - This hotel is located in a beautiful part of England called the Yorkshire Dales. The view from my room was breath-taking and the staff did go the extra mile to make sure I was happy and comfortable. I didn't want to leave!!
Francine (8/5): Lovely hotel in a wonderful location. - Receptionist was pleasant and helpful. We stayed one night only. We had a drink at the bar. The bar was quiet which we enjoyed. The rooms themselves are large with huge comfortable beds and pillows. We liked the tea and coffee making facilities, with the delicious mini shortbreads and small bag of fudge. We appreciated the artwork on the walls. Breakfast was excellent.
Nicola (8/5): Perfect location - Hotel is in a lovely location and we received a very warm welcome from Helen who was super throughout our stay. Our bedroom right at the top of the hotel was beautiful with the most stunning views. It might benefit from a fresh coat of paint and the carpet cleaning but the views and comfy bed more than made up for that. We ate dinner in the hotel on our second night and that was lovely and very good value.
alexander (8/5): avoid room 8 - Make sure you don`t book room 8 you will have the hum of a fan from the kitchen till late at night. Like sitting over a aircraft engine. First thing we spotted was a cob web , and then the brown marks down the toilet, looked in the draw and had multiple peoples hair where the hair dryer went. I had the view of the side yard ,not the Yorkshire dales.when sitting near the bar close to the conservatory, i could not help notice the floor probably never seen a clean. Great shame nice hotel, well placed but cleanliness let this one down. Breakfast was good and you knew it was on as that fan got turned on, room 8 with built in alarm clock.
Chris & John (10/5): Lovely hotel in a beautiful quiet country setting - This hotel is situated in a most beautiful part of Yorkshire. Lovely and quiet overlooking the village of Burnsall alongside the River Wharfe. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was really enjoyable in a lovely setting. A very comfortable bed and the room was sweet . Only downside is the that the decor for a luxury hotel in the the stairway was a little shabby. Apart from that we loved it. Thank you

Our room was extremely comfortable, and the service and food in the restaurant were excellent. An added bonus was free use of the spa at the nearby Devonshire Arms Hotel at Bolton Abbey. This was the perfect hotel for our short break in the Dales.
