- Lynne (7/5): - Central location in Lichfield. Lovely hotel, relaxing and lovely atmosphere. Our room was literally opposite to a night club so unbelievable noise until 2.00 am every night. Think we should have been told about this when booking or at least given a discount. The coffee at breakfast was absolutely awful. Dinner menu could do with improving, we would have eaten in hotel more if it was better.

We both had gammon steaks which was very tough and not up to the standard we expected. We did complain as we both left over half of the meal. All the waitress said was she would tell the chef. We didn't eat there again.

- anna (6/5): - Great location We asked for a quiet room and were opposite a pub. We were offered ear plugs or a lower grade room.but we declined the ear plugs as we don’t get on with them. So on top of the noise opposite we had people above that were really loud walking around their room you could hear every footstep. The location was fantastic and the staff were friendly. Sadly we just did not have a well placed room.

- Guest (6/5): Disappointing experience in Lichfield - Most of the staff were very pleasant. We had excellent breakfasts and we had a nice bar meal. The hotel is very centrally located and ideal for the cathedral. The hotel doesn't service the rooms there is not even the option. I was shocked. No top up of coffee, milk etc. nor towels and I thought the room was shabby too. There were no bedside lights. It was all or nothing. I was taken aback that Best Western approved this hotel. The evening porter was particularly unfriendly and unwillingly doled out a few coffee sachets. The worst thing -NOT the hotel's fault- the couple opposite got into a drunken brawl, swearing and screaming and slamming doors from 1.00 am on and off until 4.30 am. The police were called but we had a horrible night.

I listened to it rattling all night and in the end used a towel to pack it out to stop! Bed uncomfortable, very hard and pillows were also. The room was on front of property and very noisy until 1am

We stayed in April and the heat was oppressive. A table top fan was provided which did help however I would think this would not be suffisent in the summer months. We stayed in April.

Sarah in the dining area, Amy and joy in reception are exceptional! All staff goes out if their way to make sure your experience is delightful and welcoming! I can not express how I love this hotel each time I visit. I feel home here and in the lovely town. Nothing always exceeds my expectations. For those with mobility issues make sure to ask for a room near a lift with no stairs.

- Teresa (10/5): The staff really made our stay in a cute old hotel in the perfect location. - Staff were all wonderful, super-helpful. Excellent location. Nice old building. Good breakfast and plenty of food and drink options. Very accessible and we booked an accessible room for my wheelchair-using mum. Generous and understanding drop-off, unloading etc car park options that mean you don't have to pay parking. It was all very good - it's an old building so there are old building things. The only frustrating thing is related to uber's maps inability to find the hotel car park, but we managed every time.

- Irwin (9/5): If you want a little luxury on your stay - this is the hotel - Fantastic breakfast, some hotels brag about their mediocre food but this was superb - the staff were so kind and polite. Our room was outstanding with a four-poster and lovely layout. The location was also fantastic. The coffee pot at breakfast didn’t pour very well and flooded the table… all cleared and cleaned very swiftly and a new, working pot arrived without fuss. The bath panel in the room (24) was cracked/ broken but I’m convinced it’ll be replaced before I return again. The car park was a little difficult to find, not having been to Litchfield before but we made it and all was well eventually. I think it would be more appropriate to add the £10 parking fee to the overall stay rather than al, the embarrassment of asking for it at reception - I know it’s mentioned when booking but it does smack of a poverty mentality which for this beautiful hotel is very unnecessary
- Emma (10/5): A lovely stay - The staff was lovely, especially the man who checked us in he was so kind and friendly Also loved the fact that there was a fan in the room! There wasn't many disabled parking spots so when the car park filled up my disabled partner and I had to walk quite far to get to the lobby Disliked that the food hygiene rating was only a 4 I was shocked by how clean everything looked for you to only have a 4!
- Sturich19 (6/5): Great staff, good character but the cost and sleep quality let it down compared to other hotels nearby - Ive stayed here on 3 different occassions but unfortunately it might be my last. I prefer to stay in older hotels as i like the character and want to help in a tiny way to keep them running but due to the higher costs of this hotel and lack of sleep i cant keep coming back. Pros 1. Great staff, very welcoming. From the cleaners, front desk to the bar and dining team. Superb. 2. The hotel has good character 3. Great location Cons 1. Its priced higher than the premier inn around the corner 2. They charge £10 per day to park. This angered me a lot. I'm already paying above other hotels rates then £10 to have my car there overnight from 8->8. Not happy. People at the permier inn paid £1.50. 3. Its old - floors creek which is understandable. But i was woken up so many times due to floors above me and people walking up/down stairs. I dont think ive ever come away feeling like i had a good sleep here unfortunately.

- markcW6568ZR (6/5): Letdown by a few Repairs and cleanliness of my Room - Booked a superior double Room including breakfast, on check-in I was told to pay £10 to park as a disabled driver and also could not use the shampoo and body wash supplied by the Hotel as the bottles the liquids came in were damaged. Not such a superior double room after all.
