• Ivan (6/5): - Dovrebbe chiamarsi Tropicana hill dato che si trova in cima ad una collina, la stanza era veramente piccola, non c’era spazio per muoversi, presenti in bagno dei simpatici bruchi che ci hanno tenuto compagnia per tutto il soggiorno
• Silvia (8/5): - El alojamiento está bastante bien. No hay que fijarse mucho de las malísimas reviews, son de gente amargada que espera un hotel 4 estrellas. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y con comodidades. El aire acondicionado fue muy bueno. La localización, aunque ligeramente en una colina, es muy buena, con long beach y coral bay super cerca. Recomendamos coger el ferry a coral bay, que aunque la playa está un pelín más lejos, el ferry está mejor comunicado. Cómo punto negativo hay mucha humedad y la ventilación no es buena, deberían ofrecer servicio de limpieza de habitaciones y cambio de toallas cada dos días o así.
• Adam (8/5): - I feel this place has had some unfair and harsh reviews in the past. I can of course only base my review on our experience with the room we booked, a triple room with AC. Yes it is a bit of a walk from the long beach jetty and there is a bit of a broken up path with a small incline to the reception but from coral beach the hill is steep. We were greeted at reception by a friendly host and a bottle of water. We found our room to be clean and as the pictures stated, we had a fan and air conditioning and the room was quickly cooled after a hot walk. Our room was unfortunately at the top of another hill but can't be helped given the landscape of the property. The bathroom was acceptable the shower could have been slightly better as it didn't have much pressure but was enough to wash. There was no wifi in the room and the mobile reception is minor and patchy at best but this IS a remote island paradise. If you need entertainment in your room you'd be best to download a series or two but generally browsing internet and social media just about worked on mobile data. The property is a short and fairly easy walk from long beach and its restaurants, shops & bars about 5 mins. It's also a 5-10 minute walk from coral beach which is great for watching sunset but the steep hill is short but sweaty. I think the price of this room is more on the expensive side for basic accommodation but the AC is worth the upgrade as the jungle island is hot & humid. All in all we were happy with the stay

• Marion (4/5): Décevant - On a jamais eu de réponse à nos messages. Arrives sur place on a expliqué qu’on repartait plus tôt à cause de l’avion, et donc demander si ils peuvent faire quelque chose car j’ai prévenu y’a longtemps mais comme ils ne répondaient pas aux mails j’ai dû attendre d’être sur place et sans aucuns efforts on a eu un non ou débrouillez vous avec hotel.com et hôtel.com les a contacte et a eu un refus donc hôtel.com ne font rien de plus pour nous. La wifi ne fonctionnait pas dans les chambres, uniquement à l’accueil. Et pour se rendre à l’hôtel, bon courage on était seul avec nos valises à énormément marché sans indication sur la plage sous forte chaleur.
• Verified traveler (2/5): NADA RECOMENDABLE!! - Durante nuestra estancia sufrimos un robo dentro de la habitación. Al regresar descubrimos que nuestras pertenencias habían sido revisadas con todo detalle y únicamente desapareció el dinero en efectivo. La puerta estaba cerrada y no mostraba signos de haber sido forzada, lo que genera una gran preocupación sobre la seguridad en el establecimiento. La reacción del hotel ante el incidente fue limitada y no sentimos que hubiera una ayuda real para resolver la situación. Finalmente tuvimos que acudir a la policía y presentar una denuncia formal. Por nuestra experiencia personal, no recomendaríamos este alojamiento a quienes valoren la seguridad de sus pertenencias. Tampoco limpian la habitación ningún día durante la estancia . El wifi solo funciona si estás en una zona común llena de mosquitos. A las habitaciones no llega nada. Si quieres quedarte en Islas Perhentian, te recomiendo elegir cualquier otro alojamiento. Ojalá nosotros lo hubiéramos hecho. Quedas avisado 😉 Así que recomiendo alojarse en cualquier otro sitio que no sea este . NADA RECOMENDABLE

• Manon (10/5): Très bien pour les îles Perhentian - Il faut savoir que les logements sur les îles sont très cher et peu qualitatif!! J’ai cherché un moment avant de réserver ici. J’avais peur d’être déçu et j’ai été agréablement surprise! J’avais une chambre sans clim mais il y a un gros ventilateur au plafond. Ça rafraîchit très bien de jour comme de nuit . Il y a de l’eau chaude, le lit est bien et une moustiquaire à la fenêtre. L’emplacement est top, entre coral bay et long beach, et c’est calme ! Je ne capte pas la wifi de la chambre mais c’est pas dérangeant car ici on est tout le temps dehors. Personnel agréable , ils proposent des excursions
• Susanne (4/5): - Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Fan (und Fliegengitter) das war von der Temperatur völlig in Ordnung, aber durch die Luftfeuchtigkeit durch Dusche, feuchte Badesachen und die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit im Regenwald war es unglaublich muffelig und hat gestunken, sehr unangenehm. Ich nehme an, dass es mit Klimaanlage besser ist. Sogar die Bücher haben sich gewellt. WLAN geht nur in der Lobby, was kein Problem wäre, wenn es dort nicht ein Moskito Problem geben würde.
• David (6/5): H - El hotel cubre las necesidades mínimas. La limpieza se debe mejorar y el camino de acceso es muy malo. La ubicación es buena, en una de las mejores playas de la isla y para ver la puesta de sol y el cine de verano a 10 minutos del hotel.

• Mitchell (8/5): - This a good basic hotel. It offers clean comfortable rooms. The reception guy is awesome and helpful. There is no pool or food service on the premises. There are some items for sale in the lobby which are snacks and toiletries and most importantly mosquito spray! The hotel is at an easy distance (disregarding the condition of the pathway) from Long Beach and Coral Beach which there are many restaurants and activities available. The grounds are well maintained as well as the rooms. Cons: Mosquitoes and limited to little to no hot water. Out of 5 days, I had hot water for 3.5 days. The receptionist booked transportation (tractor with trailer) for a pickup and transfer to the pier. This is a big plus if you have a lot of luggage.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Je déconseille fortement - Je déconseille fortement cet hôtel. Il est situé tout au bout de l’île, difficile d’accès par une route étroite, non éclairée, délabrée, mal indiquée et absolument pas sécurisée. Aucun aménagement pour les personnes handicapées ou âgées. L’accueil à la réception est froide et peu professionnel, voire inexistant. Les chambres sont sales, vétustes, mal entretenues et il n’y a aucun service de chambre. Franchement, une très mauvaise expérience du début à la fin.
• christinebN8833CO (6/5): Very disappointed - I'm was very disappointed. The door and windows didn't shut properly so we had to bug spray regularly. Although I knew it didn't include breakfast, there was no kettle in the room and no where near to be anything. Although the beach is only a 10 min walk, it was quite a hill, with a very dicey path. Do not go if you have small children, or struggle with steep uneven paths.

• Letizia (8/5): - We arrived and they gave us free cold water to welcome us. Everything was clean, each room has a desk and is comfortable. We stayed the first nights in a room with AC and fan and the last night in a room with just fan. Both were clean and nice and because of the weather (it rained during a couple of nights) we didn’t even have to use the AC. From Tropicana Inn it is possible to reach Long Beach in 5 mins and coral bay in 5 mins, which is perfect to visit around. We liked it!

• María (6/5): - Es un sito quizás para salir de paso una noche, pero nada más. En la habitación hay una humedad bestial, que no hay manera de eliminarla. Es muy básica, no hay para colgar la ropa.
• Isabelle (8/5): - Super bien placé entre les 2 plages long beach (3 min)et coral beach (5min), possibilité de randonnée à pied jusqu'à Dlagoon (1h) voyage à 4 avec 2 ados super séjour mais il faut reconnaitre que le rapport qualité/prix est décevant Malheureusement aucun rangement pour les vêtements qui ont du resté dans les valises (donc impossible de circuler dans la chambre trop petite)ni espace pour faire sécher les maillots de bains/serviettes car aucun accès à l'extérieur depuis la chambre (moustiquaire sur les fenêtres) et salle de bain très petite donc odeur de moisi dans la chambre aucun ménage fait ni changement de serviette pendant 6 nuits, les serviettes sentent le moisi et les draps sont tachés mais propres les chambres pour 4 sont microscopiques, ingérables avec des ados la dernière nuit nous avions une chambre pour 6 plus spacieuse à 4 avec une salle de bain rénovée
• Verified traveler (6/5): In the middle between Coral Bay and Long beach - The staff are SUPER friendly and really helpful! I needed help to print a few things, it was no problem. They are really good at giving information and advices. If the room if available, when you arrive, you can get early check-in. Really nice! They have luggage storage, and you can get a shower even if you are waiting for a room/have checked out. We didn't got our room cleaned during our 5N stay. That is a long time with no cleaning, no emptying the trash, lot of sand, new towels (our room had no AC, so we needed extra showers). We didn't had any toiletpaper at the room, but we think it was the host who forgot. We just asked at the reception, and got some. Can recommend this place. Note: During the weekends the island have a lot of guests. So if you want to come during a weekend, you need to book your stay (nomatter where) in advance. We booked our stay 3-4 weeks before, and couldn't get a room with AC because some of the days were during a weekend. Can recommend you take the ferry to Coral Bay if you stay here.
• Hendrik (10/5): - De locatie van dit verblijf is ideaal. Vlakbij Long Beach en toch weg van het geluid van het strand. We hadden een kamer met fan. Daar moesten we even aan wennen, maar was uiteindelijk prima. We hebben het nooit te warm gehad. Het bed en de douche zijn eenvoudig, maar prima. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en als we vroegen om nieuw toiletpapier of een nieuwe handdoek, kregen we dat direct. Ik raad dit verblijf vooral om de perfecte locatie en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel erg aan!

• Monia (10/5): Être en bonne condition physique - L'hôtel est situé dans la forêt tropicale au hauteur d'une sacrée côte très difficile à monter avec des bagages. Il existe des services de porteurs de valises mais l'hôtel ne nous en avait pas informés avant d'arriver pourtant nous avions envoyé un mail deux jours avant notre arrivée pour poser la question. Nous avons donc vraiment souffert à monter la côte avec nos bagages. La chambre était en hauteur aussi dans l'hôtel donc vraiment veiller à être en bonne forme physique. Pas de balai pour nettoyer la chambre dont le sol était rempli de sable. Pas de ménage fait en 4 jours c'est dommage surtout pour les serviettes de bain. Sinon le personnel est gentil et serviable. Dans la nuit, des noix de coco tombent violemment sur le toit. Ça peut surprendre et réveiller. Sinon c'était pas mal pour le prix.

• Wanderer23420909958 (2/5): Worse island experience with rooms got broken into - DO NOT BOOK HERE! NO hot shower. The trail to hike here is dangerous( i really hope one day a person hike here, fall and die). Our bed got blood stain which never been cleaned at all. Nobody on standby. Advertise with WIFI but nope theres no line at all there. My money got stolen around Rm100, i bet the workers there enter our room when we went snokerling. My things we scattered everywhere. Theres no cctv to prove at all. Worse experienced ever. Everyone who works here is foreign workers probably no LEGAL PERMIT. They dont understand the Malaysian values.
• Hacer (6/5): - Es ist wirklich eine Zweckunterkunft. Man nutzt es nur zum schlafen und duschen. Es liegt genau zwischen Long Beach und Coral Bay, was wirklich ein ultra Pluspunkt ist. Ist auch der einzige Grund, weshalb ich dieses Hotel nochmal buchen würde. Die Anreise mit dem Speedboat von Kuala Besut empfiehlt sich über Coral Bay (ca. 7 Min Fußweg zur Unterkunft).
• williamlye (6/5): Nice jungle rooms in middle of island, clean - Decent rooms, clean and simple- with good service. Rooms are simple with Airconditioning and bright airy rooms. Only lacking was a water heater (that is if you like hot showers!). Fuss free, located in the middle of a hilltop- between coral beach and Long Beach. It’s about a 12 mins hike uphill from coral beach jetty or a 5 mins stroll from Long Beach. Good for those wanting a simple fuss free accomodation in a jungle hilltop!

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Let’s start with the good. This place is conveniently located equidistant to the two main beaches. Around a five minute walk to each. The staff were kind and warm in their behaviour. Now the not so good. This is not a 2.5 star hotel. It’s not even a hotel. It’s back country lodging. For starters, they do not provide toilet paper. You can extrapolate from there. I am not assigning blame to the ownership of the hotel for the 2.5 star rating. I am assigning blame to whomever is responsible for the unstandardized rating system, as well as customers who play into this misinformation, with or without good intentions. The other piece is the walking path. It is extremely perilous at night. Someone is going to get badly hurt, if they haven’t already. At one point, the path turns from relatively flat terrain to stairs. You can’t see the drop off in the dark. A flashlight can solve this problem, but I would not walk it alone if I was a female. Otherwise, I am open to the possibility that this is good value from a supply/demand perspective. I just think it’s only fair that people know what they’re getting into, before they commit. • STEPHANE (8/5): Hôtel bien situé mais accès sportif - Hôtel bien situé car proche de la plus belle plage. Par contre, l’accessibilité avec les bagages est un calvaire. On débarque sur l’île au niveau d’un ponton puis il faut traverser la plage avant d’entamer un chemin sinueux en montée sans lumière (quand on arrive à la tombée de la nuit). L’hôtel ne fournit pas de restauration mais une salle est à disposition si on vient avec son plat. Un peu cher pour ce que c’est.

• JaiL107 (6/5): Nice place to stay - It was a nice place to stay considering the cheaper price compare to other place since we booked quite late, the staff was friendly, basic service for rooms so dont expect it to be cleaned every day. A short uphill walk from the beach, but quite far from the jetty if you are carrying luggage because you have to walk along the beach from one end to the other from the jetty, you can consider walking from Coral Bay also, footpath all the way from Coral Bay jetty. The Inn should consider cleaning the rubbish along the way up to the accommodation from Long Beach. All in, we really enjoyed our stay, very quiet nice environment, recommended.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Dies war mein viertes Mal auf Perhentianisch und jedes Mal, wenn ich hinging, blieb ich immer im Tropicana Inn, hauptsächlich weil es zwischen Long Beach und Coral Bay lag, weg von der lauten Musik auf Long Beach und nicht in direktem Sonnenlicht. Wir liebten die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter. Norman war außerordentlich hilfreich bei der Ideenfindung. Er kümmerte sich auch sehr gut um uns, so gut er konnte. Die Zimmer werden auf Anfrage gereinigt, aber wenn Sie auch Toilettenspülungen wünschen, müssen Sie dies erwähnen. Wenn nicht, ist es nur ein Wechsel von Bettwäsche und Handtüchern und das Herausfegen des Sandes aus dem Raum. • Mansoor-upm (8/5): Good hospitality and assistance - We visited perhentian from 2-4 April and stayed at tropicanna for two nights and three days. It was pretty much a good experience. Specially with warm welcome and hospitality of staff. The management was flexible to accommodate all 80+ of our members. Staff was vigilant and had good aptitude of assistance. Rooms were of reasonable size with all basic amenities available. Must say that it proved a good option as budget stay for our group.

In our opinion this is the best beach in this part of the world. This place has a very relaxed and laid back atmosphere which is exactly what one needs in such a location. The room was clean and comfortable with a clean ensuite bathroom. If you are looking for a decent place at a reasonable price, Tropicana Inn is without a doubt the resort to choose.

If you are looking for a decent place at a reasonable price, Tropicana Inn is without doubt the resort to choose.
• Hema61 (8/5): Return Visit - We are old couple and this is our fourth time staying at Tropicana Inn. If you want clean rooms, good service and helpful staff, including the management at very reasonable rates, this is the place for you. This place is away from the noise of the bars and beach parties. An added bonus this time is that this place has gone through extensive renovation and everything looks new. Health and finance permitting, we will return yet again without a doubt.
• martiesparraguera (2/5): Thiefs - I accidentally left some things in my room at the check-out. I came a few hours later and the room had been cleaned but my stuff had disappeared. The manager didn't make any effort to help me. Would NEVER reccommend this place.
• Abs (6/5): - I had a private room which I booked at very short notice online and it was very expensive compared to other accommodation on the island, and even for the same accommodation if booked in person. The room was clean and spacious, two clean towels provided. Bathroom was clean. The water wasn't hot but that wasn't too much of an issue given how hot the island is. The room was a good temperature (fan worked well). There was one window with not much of a view. Overall I think this is good accommodation for an island. It is a short walk down to long beach but there are no lights on the path for half the way and so as a sole female traveller it's a bit scary when returning in the evenings.
• Liliane A. (2/5): Affreux ! - L'odeur cest juste incroyable mais dans le sens négatif ! L'odeur d'humidité est affreuse... Rien n'est propre, le sol, les draps ou les oreillers... Il a des insectes de partout, mais ça encore c'est le moins dérangeant je vous assure. La salle de bain est affreuse ! Le wifi ne fonctionne absoluement pas. C'est extrèmement cher pour le service rendu... Vraiment déçue ! Je ne recommande pas.
• sharminia (2/5): Disappointment - Rooms were extremely small and crammed. We booked a room for 4 and got this tiny room, with a queen sized bed and 2 single beds crammed together with absolutely no space to walk or move in the room. Bathroom is pathetic with no hot water and low water pressure. Free WiFi sign is a lie. You’ll get no WiFi, bad reception even if you’re at the ‘hotel’ lobby. I say ‘hotel’ cause this should be hostel with less than half the price. If you are claustrophobic, this is your worst nightmare. We left after one night. Not worth the price. I’d recommend you try Sharila or Mimpi. We did but it was fully booked.

No habia ventanas, solo unos cristales abatibles y se oían durante todo el día y la noche gritos, conversacio es, pisadas, etc. Bichos y lagartos entraban y salían por la ventana. La ropa de la cama olia fatal y las toallas de la ducha!! Muy lejos de todo.El camino sin iluminar. Fue imposible dormir las dos infernales noches que pasamos ahí. Desastroso, penoso y asqueroso. • 887tashiec (4/5): hostel- very loud - We booked last minute so struggled to find any other hostels available, so we decided to book this hotel instead. Given the price we thought it may be a cheep and cheerful hotel, but really it’s a hostel. It is extremely loud at night, not from the parties on long beach but from banging- I have no idea what the noises were but I woke up every hour from very loud bangs. The pehrentian islands are absolutely beautiful so you don’t need to spend too much time in the hostel anyway. It’s a close walk to Long beach, (about 5 minutes).

• Elisa (4/5): Se possibile, evitatelo - Soggiorno di 5 notti per 3 adulti in una camera da due con l’aggiunta di un letto. Camera con orribile odore di chiuso ed umido. Pareti sporche di chissà cosa. Lenzuola oscene. Bagno fatiscente. Era l’unico disponibile su Kecil ma decisamente non lo consiglierei perché nettamente al di sotto degli standard minimi di decenza.
• Vanpuffel (2/5): Worst service ever had - Expensive, bad location but most of all VERY rude owners and personnel. They are not helpful at all. If you ask for laundry service they simply ignore you. The only thing they want is money. We asked to change the sheets and we needed to pay 200 ringit!!! The owner has no sense of politeness in any way, so please go to somewhere else!
• 647CharlesG (2/5): Highest prices for worst rooms - Our room for 5 people was incredibly small. I often paid twice less for 10 times better elsewhere. Gave us two toilet paper rolls for 5 people and 3 days. Gave us two towels for 5 people and 3 days. The place gets full of sand very quickly and they don’t bother coming once a day or even providing a broom, which would be so simple. As they precise, no A/C and no hot water. The staff barely speak english and really don’t care about you at all.
• jeanphilippes773 (2/5): DO NOT BOOK!!!! - Way too expensive, I wouldn't even sleep here if it was free. The staff are rude and not welcoming. No hot water no WiFi. Bathroom haven't been cleaned in 2 months. Room smells humidity really bad! It was not only my worst but also the most expensive hotel I've been in while traveling for 5 weeks in Asia.

• Yen (6/5): - I came to stay here twice in two weeks because the price is one of the best and also the hotel I wanted to book is fully booked. Came here second time with a kid at 4 years old, he slept fine for 3D2N. This Inn has all the basic things you need to stay for the night - decent bed, toilet, towel, blanket, pillow which is quite okay. I saw many bad comments but actually it is not that bad at all. I stayed in the bad condition chalet before too on this island, but wont give bad comment because it is expected. I would recommend people who bring baby or kid to bring your own kettle. There is no hair dryer too, so bring your own if you must dry your hair with a dryer. Oh, we saw a huge spider in the room too as expected as the inn is in the middle of the island. Remember to choose the closest jetty which is Coral Bay Jetty NOT Long Beach jetty. I would recommend this place for people who are on budget and big group :-)
• AnneN_1995 (2/5): Rude staff, below average accomodation - Incredibly rude staff! Prices double at weekends, which isn't inline with the other dorms on the island. Staff couldn't understand simple requets and were definately looking for an excuse to keep your deposit. In terms of the actual dorms, lots of ants. The bed sheet were covered in stains and more yellow than white! The pillows were lumpy and flat. I witnessed house keeping change the bed sheets, but not pillow case or blankets, after people checked out. The toilet looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years and the seat was covered in cracks. And the shower was a trickle at best. Don't ruin your visit to the Perhentians by staying here. And don't give these greedy, rude people your money! Other accomodation may on the island may not be amazing, but at least the staff are friendly and try to make you welcome!
• Jeffrey8901 (10/5): A Great Place to Stay - A great place to stay if you want to be slightly away from the noise of the Long Beach but within a short distance walk. The location is great being within walking distance of both Long Beach and Coral Bay giving you the choice of which you prefer. We stayed in a Family Room with fan and were more than happy with the quality of the accommodation.
• smillaj2016 (2/5): Good room, very bad service and environment - Me and my friend visited the Tropicana inn this july (2018). The room and service was fine and the hotel is great located near the beach, where there's a lot of parties going on during nighttime. One night a party came way too close to our room, as we woke up at 3. am due to great noise. As we went to investigate a man was breaking and entering right across from our door. He had made a huge hole in the neighbour door in order to enter the room. We left the hotel one day earlier than planned because of the episode. Just did not feel safe there any longer. The manager of the hotel had no intentions of giving a refund for the night we did not spend because of the incident. His only comment was the unkind phrase: "Well, the man was drunk." The staff showed neither talent for custumors service nor understanding for the uncomfortable situation we found ourselves in. Not recommendable.

• MichelleShellD (2/5): Infested with ants - Being the Perhentian islands places are expensive so if you want to visit and pay a reasonable price for accommodation then they wont be of any quality. That being said there is no excuse for staff to be rude to customers (or any human being by that matter) the guy who works on reception .. maybe he is the manager .. needs to learn some manners and to crack a smile. He is the rudest person i have encountered whilst backpacking for nearly a year - well anyone I've met in hospitality in general! I was allocated a bottom bunk in one of the dorms and on a superficial level the dorm looked acceptable so i paid for 3 nights (booking was 20RM cheaper a night doing this). However once i started to unpack my bag i noticed a lot of ants on my bed. After brushing them off, more appeared! So i lifted the mattress and there was a whole swarm of them. I immediately informed staff and was allocated a new bed in the same room. The staff didnt bother cleaning the ants away despite it only being 7/7.30pm but as far as they were concerned, they were all finished for the day. Then to make matters worse, after i came back to the room the following day, i found that my bed had been wiped clear of all my belongings on to the floor so somebody could take my place! Very disrespectful considering there were other empty beds available in the room. Place is generally dirty, cold shower (although this is a welcomed break as the room is extremely hot and humid and does seem to be the norm for budget accommodation for the island), only fans, no way to ventilate the room so it was hot, humid and smelt damp. I left after my second night, said goodbye to my payment for my third night and moved elsewhere. I would never return and would never recommend.

Tropicana ligger ett par hundra meter upp från stranden. Du drar inga resväskor dit. Vägen/stigen är kantad av skräp, flaskor och glas.

• sophie (10/5): My new home in the Perhentians - I have been staying at Tropicana Inn for at least 6 years in a row now during peak season. It has consistently deemed an excellent value because of the room quality and service. I always get a good night's sleep on their comfortable beds. Wi-Fi is quite good but only at the common area. The guys at the front desk are the same people I see every year and have always been accommodating. You can't beat the location. This place is located near long beach and only a few minutes walk to coral bay. You can be at all the restaurants, and the night spots within a couple of minutes. The place has been extensively renovated and looks like a brand new resort now. I would definitely recommend this place for those who want to go to the Perhentians.

Not as nice as other hotels due to being set back from the beach so no lovely view. We didn't choose to stay when other accommodation became available. However nice and quiet for long beach!

Hotellet er ikke forfærdeligt, men vi fik uddelt nogle tynde IKEA fleece-tæpper til at sove med, hvilke var både for korte og ubehagelige at sove med. Der var ikke engang håndsæbe. Larm fra Long Beach. Sengene var ellers komfortable nok. Jeg synes hotellet var ALT for dyrt ift. hvad man fik.
• Martin (2/5): Wouldn't Recommend this Spot even to Worst Enemy - Nightmare experience started as soon as we got to room: it smelled heavily (musty) and there were disgusting stains in supposedly cleaned bed covers (see attached pictures). We complained and receptionist, as well as hotel manager (tall, skinny guy with mustache), refused to change the bed sheets and covers, and much less to move us to another room, arguing in terrible manners that there was something wrong with our sense of smell (only reason we stayed is because it was a long holiday weekend and everything else was booked). We insisted the next day and managed to get a new room for the following two nights (we had prepaid three nights through Expedia). Nightmare continued regardless: as we came back to room from dinner, we found rat feces on bed and bed-site table, and actually heard the rat in our bathroom (there was no one in Reception to whom to complain that night). The following morning, we finally could complain and receptionist literally responded that it had been our fault because we had failed to place a water bottle on top of the bathroom drain cover and "had to understand we were in the jungle." Do not be mistaken: this was not a "cheap hotel" by any stretch of the mind. For what we paid, this was nothing to be expected what so ever. So if you really want to have an awful experience and feel cheated and frustrated, go ahead and stay at the Perhentian Tropicana Inn.
• JAMFARANORWAHIDA (8/5): - service was very satisfactory. workers were very helpful. Overall the hotel is clean. just need to fix the wifi. expand coverage. will be back to stay here.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Too pricey for what you get - We only chose this hotel because it was one of few places left available for the weekend we wanted to travel so we went for it. The location is fantastic - 5min walk to long beach and 10mins to Coral Beach. The staff were also very nice, but we felt ripped off for how much we paid for such a basic room. It cost 75SGD/night for a fan room. AC was not even provided for that price. It would make up for it a little if there were some other kinds of amenities provided, but the room is extremely basic - we had no bedding provided (only after we asked twice did we get a bed sheet and pillow covers, and the bed sheet didn't even fit the mattress!) and there wasn't even a bar of soap to use in the bathroom!! We also never got clean towels and we stayed here for 3 nights. The wifi was also non-existent in the room and in the common areas it hardly ever worked. We are fine staying in hostel-type accommodations, but if it's going to be hostel standard, then we expect to pay hostel prices, NOT 75SGD/night! That was way too high for what we got. When we go back to the Perhentian islands we will definitely book our accommodation in advance so that we can stay somewhere else that is worth the price. Unfortunately we will not be recommending this "hotel" to our friends. The island itself is beautiful though.
• Stephanie (6/5): Not worth the money - The hotel was pretty clean and rooms were very basic but fine with a comfy bed and decent sized bathroom. However, it is way overpriced! For that money we expected 4* and we got 2* with unfriendly staff. Wifi only worked in reception and they turned it off at night and closed up the whole reception area after a certain time so there was no where to sit if you didn't want to be in your room. Good location but staff very unfriendly and had lost our booking when we got there. Everyone we met had basic but nice guest houses or hostels for about a fifth of the price we paid for ours!!
