Guest Reviews
- 815eleanorh (2/5): Great place horrible staff - Room was lovely and the actual venue was stunning but the staff were so rude it was unreal, spoke to horribly from the get go I will say it was mainly the women there as someone who has worked in hospitality my whole life I wouldn’t treat a customer that way - my boyfriend asked for some crisps for the kids and she said “I’m busy” he didn’t hear as he is hard of hearing and he said just the crisps please and she said “selective hearing from another ignorant male” when you’re paying £25 a round you’d at least expect some form of pleasantries they also wouldn’t let me have a glass of water in the morning because they needed it for “other guests” it’s tap water.
- Jackie (8/5): Very nice stay -
- Steve (5/5): -
- thomas (8/5): Nice and comfortable. - Easy to find, and the surroundings are very nice - not least the proximity to Lymm. The staff was good, and the restaurant delivered as we expected. Nice breakfast!
- lymony (10/5): Lovely wedding weekend - Lovely stay away for our friend's wedding this weekend! Staff were lovely, very attentive and anything was asked for they accommodated. The breakfast was fantastic, cold selection of cereal and pastries and a hot menu to choose from. Wedding went off without a hitch, the room was lovely, all in all a lovely stay. And congratulations to Nicola and Andy!
- Jane (1/5): Never again - Externally very picturesque I became unwell (symptoms of food poisoning) after dinner during a one night stay and the staff were harsh and rude. They weren’t interested.
The property is tired and worn.
- Georgina (9/5): -
- Julie (7/5): - Great location and good parking facilities The room smelled slightly musty and our clothes also smelled the same when we took them from the hanging space. It was disappointing at breakfast to pay £15 for a breakfast that had a chip shop style sausage!?! The bacon, eggs and other additions were fine, and although it is only a sausage, I would have expected better quality produce
- PAUL (10/5): -
- fiona (1/5): - Unfortunately technology failed here, with my booking being accepted on to receive a call from the hotel whilst on Route the hotel told me there was no room available, but yet book went through!
- Matt (8/5): -
- Teresa (9/5): We Enjoyed our stay here in a v pretty hotel and gardens. Ideal for exploring Lymm and the Cheshire environs. - Pretty building and gardens, ideally situated for an event in Lymm.
Very comfortable bed and all staff were friendly and helpful
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My double room was cramped and my husband and I were bumping into each other , but otherwise a comfortable and clean room.
- Noreen (8/5): Suited my need - Friendly staff and very comfortable bed I would have liked another chair in the bedroom as I was working and would have liked a chair to allow me to work on the table
- Christine (6/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): - Always enjoy staying at the Statham Lodge extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great served hot breakfast.
The room was lovely and warm slept really well.
- 862crt (10/5): Hidden Gem - Hotel is just off the motorway, so really convenient but very quiet and surrounded by wooded gardens.
Good sized bedroom and large comfy twin beds. Bathroom was very clean, with a shower over the bath.
We had dinner in the restaurant, which is beautifully decorated and spacious. The food was well-cooked and nicely presented.
Breakfast was included in our package and was well-cooked and varied.

- colin (9/5): Comfy hotel in beautiful setting. - Great location , beautiful gardens, comfy beds, great shower, amazing breakfasts and friendly staff. N/A
- Geoff (8/5): Great 1 night business stopover - Comfortable bed and very quiet room Nothing
- Jo (9/5): Warm welcome, fantastic staff and fantastic food🤗🤗 - Lovely period property with terrific grounds… it could do with a few tweaks but nothing major. Very much old world charm in a grand way. Staff are great, you get a warm welcome with a huge personal touch. Do not miss the breakfast…. Lots of choice, the full English breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in years. Nothing
- Alex (10/5): Very enjoyable - Its character, and friendly staff. Set in beautiful grounds Nothing at all
- Maureen (10/5): only sorry it was just a one night stay - room a decent size, very comfy bed, good pressure and temperature in shower, toiletries luxurious, plenty of fluffy towels, breakfast very good, especially liked that the pastries were warm, dinner as part of the wedding we were attending was very good, drinks were reasonably priced and a good selection available, all the staff we met were lovely. only potential problem would be lack of a lift but we knew that before booking. would prefer a shower rather than a shower over the bath as my mobility is limited but it was manageable.
- Richard (8/5): Really nice hotel that ticks all the boxes for a shorg stay. - Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of freah fruit cereals pasties and cooked breakfast was well worth the price. The room was good, spacious and the grounds are lovely. Nothing to complain about
- Fiona (8/5): Looking forward to returning. - Location was perfect for visiting family.
Plenty of parking.
Excellent breakfast with various choices for a cooked breakfast. Nothing
- Mark (8/5): - Good access, nice grounds, big car park
Bedrooms was well laid out and decent bathroom. Big comfortable bed Restaurant is a little soulless but bar staff were attentive and counteous
- 414kathryno (10/5): The Most Incredible Wedding Day - Me and my husband got married at Statham Lodge on the 11th of April 2026 and I can honestly say that I cannot fault Statham lodge in any capacity and that they were absolutely outstanding in every way.
The day went off without a hitch, the whole team at Statham were incredible and so wonderful to work with, the staff were attentive and kind and most of all they were willing to bend over backwards to make sure the day ran smoothly.
Beccie and Chris in particular helped in so many ways and kept me (an incredibly nervous bride) calm and well informed. The day was so well planned, from regular meetings and menu tasting right through to the last song in the evening.
All of our guests were extremely complimentary and remarked that the wedding felt so personal and they felt looked after by the whole team. Everybody loved the food and guests with dietary requirements remarked that the alternatives were extremely tasty and made them feel like they weren't missing out.
I will remember this day for the rest of my life and I will be eternally grateful to Statham lodge for the day they provided us and we will be returning in a years time to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.
I could go on forever about the amazing, wonderful time we had and I could not recommend Statham lodge more for hosting your wedding or any event for that matter.
- Madeleine (10/5): - Clean, warm and comfortable, staff were friendly amd helpful regardless of time of day.
- Dawn (10/5): -
- N3778IMjanc (6/5): Stomach bug the following day. - Shared a space with a wedding party. To celebrate my 70th birthday.. Weird set up. Food ok and service good, but I had gastroenteritis the following day...I had the venison. I never have a problem with sny meat I've cooked at home. I don't eat out much but that has put me right off doing so in the future.
- Kuči (10/5): - Hrana in lokacija, domačnost
- Mary (8/5): A convenient stopover but also v pleasant and comfortable - Convenient location. Quiet. Good food. V clean and comfortable.

- John (5/5): Hotel provides reasonable value for money but changes made by new manager are not all improvements. - Location. Previous experiences at the hotel. Value for money. Some improvements to bar/dining area. Shower didn’t work properly. Bed was not well made up - duvet wasn’t inside duvet cover at the bottom. No spare roll of toilet paper. Breakfast not as good as previously. Machine for tea instead of freshly made pot and same for toast. Only one egg for full English breakfast.
- Simon Hopton (10/5): -
- Dawn (9/5): - Ideal for us to travel to football

- bmackreth100 (10/5): Statham Lodge Hotel - What a gem of a find. The hotel was lovely and the staff were very attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent and nice and hot. We even met the owner who told us that the hotel was 300 years old. The beds were really comfortable. The staff deserve a 5* and over, the hotel are very lucky to have them working for them. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay there again if we were that way again. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.
- Gaye (9/5): -
- Dawn (9/5): Excellent location - Location is excellent for driving into liverpool
- Elaine (10/5): A nice comfortable hotel - I was at an event at the hotel, my first time at the hotel. The bedroom was nice & warm, beds + linen nice & clean. We had an evening meal & it was lovely also afternoon tea the next day which wasn't brilliant, sandwiches not to everyone's taste with garlic butter used in egg sandwich, smoked salmon sandwiches were mostly left untouched on our table of 9, scones and sweet treats were nice. I especially liked the elderflower spriter.
Carpet in bedroom could do with cleaning in bedroom, bathroom ok but grouting needs redoing as it's discoloured & let's the bathroom down.
- Clint Westwood (9/5): -
- Desmond (9/5): Top Jockey - Plants in the hotel, quality of the painting & decorating Fruit at breakfast
- Gillian (10/5): - Helpful friendly staff, excellent dinner, comfortable room and good breakfast.
- Amanda7164 (8/5): Peaceful little gem - Extended family stayed to celebrate a significant birthday. Whilst we didn’t eat there, we found the staff friendly and helpful, lovely clean rooms, comfortable bed and very peaceful considering there was a wedding being hosted. Happy to recommend
- fiona (9/5): -
- Chris (9/5): -
- Rosie (9/5): A really relaxing stay with a gorgeous bed and pillows I wish I’d stolen! - The bed was so comfortable! The pillows were amazing and the bath was really great, lovely hot water!
The decor throughout the property was really gorgeous too. Really loved the big green sofa! Only stayed for one night but I felt so relaxed the next day! We felt a little bit rushed when it came to check out, I wouldn’t expect a cleaner knocking on the door at exactly the check out time.
I’d also have loved some bubble bath rather than using the shower gel - but I realise that’s first world problems isn’t it.
- Simon Hopton (10/5): - Nothing
- Rachel (8/5): Lovely hotel! - Lovely hotel, very good location and helpful staff.
- VICTORIA (6/5): Disappointing stay. Overpriced. Short beds. - Good parking facilities. The beds (twin room) were very short. Room had no character or style. I paid £140 and this hotel did not deliver value for money. I wouldn’t stay there again.
- Geoff (8/5): -
- Keefe (6/5): - Room was comfortable,However they did not have enough staff on duty ..one person doing reception, waiting on in dining room,, running the Bar,bringing meals out, from kitchen, taking table orders ,he was rushed off his feet..It was only at 8 o'clock pm he had someone to come in and help him out..We stayed 12 months ago and had a better stay then..sorry but it gives the impression it's being run on skeleton staff..Also we paid a lot of money for an Evening meal, and full English Breakfast ..which was of poor Quality..say no more .. Room was fine..
- David (8/5): -
- U4238JWjulier (2/5): Disappointed - I was utterly shocked and disappointed when we went to have Sunday Lunch for my Birthday. We have been many times but this time was completely different we didn’t sit in the Dining Room. Seated in the bar no table cloths to round table stuck together one higher than the other. Utterly disappointed as we were folding we weee having afternoon tea we could have had a tablecloth then. Food took ages to come and to be honest was simple pub grub. I will never go again and staff seemed surprised when I complained and was told that they only use the dining g rooms for funerals and weddings. Please do not go if you want a nice meal.
- JulieIrish08 (10/5): We will be back - A day trip to Lymm, we had a wonderful muddy walk near the hotel, including a trip on the Penny Ferry. We came back to Statham Lodge Hotel for dinner. Such a lovely place. Old enough and quaint enough. Gave us a good welcomed feeling. Liz in the bar/restaurant help to add to our great experience. We only had a short visit and I would love for us to all visit again
- kelljoe112 (10/5): Lovely hotel set in lovely grounds - We got a great deal for one night on this hotel. The hotel itself is set within lovely grounds its worth a little walk around, Its walkable to Lymm ( 20 to 25 minutes ) which we did but got a taxi back as it was late at night. Our room was lovely clean and comfy all staff really nice and friendly our breakfast was delicious we would definitely stay here again and hopefully the attic will be open to the public to see as there's a little tale about the squire that lived there once the only downside is i would say the bar prices are a bit expensive
- Tim (10/5): -
- Richard (7/5): - Its got a great location close to the M6 and other major routes. My dinner was very good value and great food, the breakfast menu was great. It was lovely not to have a buffet for the hot food. It could do with some updates as it is looking at touch older in character.
- terryhX2616FZ (10/5): Our go to hotel in this area - Stay here when visiting family, stayed at lots of other hotels in this area but not been anywhere else since we found Statham Lodge.
- Vacationer769923 (10/5): Picturesque hotel in lovely surroundings - Very good location, great atmosphere. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Good value for money. Spotless. No noise to complain about. Service was first class and everyone was so friendly. Lovely surroundings .
Would definitely stay again and would recommend
- daisychain767 (10/5): Beautiful Hotel, fabulous stay - We spent a lovely weekend at Statham Lodge celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. Our wedding reception was held here and the hotel is just as beautiful as we remembered.
The hotel staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a particular highlight with a fabulous array of continental and cooked options on offer. Sunday lunch was also first rate. We hi,t up an appetite by walking into Lymm along the towpath and a walk around Lymm dam.
Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We can’t wait to come back again.
- Tamsin (8/5): -
- Kim (8/5): - Beautiful property and lovely room. Comfortable bed and good facilities. Location was a bit out of the way but it meant a good night’s sleep in the quiet surrounds.
- Yuan (9/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): Statham continues to be an excellent hotel. - The staff were excellent.
- Marie (7/5): The building was attractive, the staff were welcoming. Would I return? Probably not. - TThe staff wrere very pleasant and welcoming, the room was fine, alhough for £126.00 we expcted more.
The breakfast had a veryy good choice and catered for all tastes. The organisation for tea/ coffee/toast making was poor. All of these facilities were squahed in a corner with no where to queue without getting in another guest's way. Surely, tea and coffee pots per table should be the norm at this type of establishment. The late checkin and early check out was not to our expections, we are used to a longer period within the hotel and grounds. This was diappointing.
- Lee (7/5): Comfortable stay with wonderful gardens and good access to Lymm - Gardens are fantastic , great breakfast Some decor is dated and tired
- MJNF (10/5): Excellennt hotel. - Lovely, spacious room, very clean, comfortable bed and quiet. Everything required for a one-night stay. The staff are very friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent - best eggs Benedict I have had. The chef is a master at poached eggs. I like the fact that they try to source everything locally. The hotel definitely has a country house atmosphere. The price is very reasonable. Only 15 minutes by car to Warrington centre and 10 to the M6. Highly recommended.
- Hannah (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Clare (10/5): -
- Andy (10/5): Amazing service and food - Reece and Chris were amazing really helpful and great service. Food was amazing. Wasn't made aware of £50 deposit on arrival. Would have been helpful to know when booking
- Mike (8/5): - Very good breakfast.
- Katherine (10/5): Amazing, went too quick, perfect - An absolutely beautiful hotel, immaculate and exceeded expectations by far. Staff were amazing and friendly, approachable and represent the business very well. No improvements necessary, highly recommend Nothing
- richard (9/5): The staff were very friendly and it was one of the nicest breakfast we've had in a long time - The hotel is in lovely setting with ample car parking Nothing
- VivC67 (8/5): Overnight stay - Very nice hotel.
Have to say though that the wallpaper in the bedroom was a bit dark which made the room seem very small.
Staff were very helpful especially in the restaurant where the food was of an extremely high standard so we thoroughly enjoyed. A nice relaxed place to sit and have a quiet drink after a long day.
The only issue I had was the bed was a little higher in the middle so we felt we were rolling to the outside of the bed.
- Gillian (8/5): Lovely hotel in rural location . - Lovely hotel , efficient check in. Delicious breakfast. Comfortable room . Duvet quite flimsy , pillows uncomfortable.
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Susan (6/5): - Lovely building, good location for motorway access, friendly team. The rooms can run quite hot and the walls are thin so it can be noisy which is a challenge when away for work.
- Paul (9/5): Really nice place to stay and very convenient for Warrington as well as the M6, M56 and M62 - Great Breakfast!
- Trevor (9/5): - Room very quiet despite a large party taking place in the hotel. Room uncomfortably hot when we arrived. Took a while to decrease temperature.
- DuncanFarron1971 (8/5): One night stay - I booked as just needed a bed for the night and the price was great for here. Was really pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It may be tired in a few areas (mainly some carpets) but in general was excellent and represents great value for money. Bed was nice and breakfast great. The hotel feels like it away from everything and the gardens are amazing (though I'm sure much better in the Spring/Summer when in full glory. All in all enjoyed my stay and excellent value for money. Thank you
- John4277442 (8/5): Clean, comfy. - Very nice stay, food tasty and reasonable price. £9.60 for a pint of lager was a tad excessive. Avoid room 13 if there is a function as it was noisy with music to 12 midnight.

- LMM02 (10/5): Enjoyable Stays - Friendly, welcoming and smart hotel
- TJH29 (8/5): Nice hotel - if I stayed again I’d need to know there would be hot water! - I was greeted by a very friendly chatty receptionist who made me feel very welcome. Nice room, if a little dark due to the wallpaper, comfortable though.
Huge big bathroom, sparklingly clean. No hairdryer in the room, typical the one time I didn’t bring mine!
No hot water for a morning shower despite leaving it running for 4/5 mins -tried the bath too, also no hot water so opted for a cold shower which wasn’t pleasant!
Thankfully the breakfast was fantastic - really hot, tasty and better than your average hotel brekkie. This was provided to me free of charge to make up for the cold shower which to be fair it did!
Every member of staff I spoke to was helpful, friendly & genuinely trying their best.
Overall a good stay & I had a decent nights sleep.
- kenneth (10/5): - Amazing place ..dinner bed and breakfast. Dinner was delicious. The 'bar' was a sumptuous beautifully appointed restaurant. So pretty. We had a room with a garden view. We got a great rate in January. Staff were kindly efficient and attentive. Great high pressure hot water in a lovely bathroom. Nothing.
- Tim W (9/5): Comfortable stay in pleasant surroundings. - The room was warm, beds were comfortable and the bathroom and facilities were good. The dinner in the restaurant was good. There was a nice choice of menu and the staff were helpful and friendly. There was nothing to dislike.
- Geoff (8/5): Overnight business trip and I’m a regular guest at - Homely feeling, very friendly staff, good breakfast, quiet & comfortable room Toaster!
- karen (9/5): -
- joemG1266LN (10/5): A great stay with at a wonderful place - Had a wonderful stay at Statham Lodge in late Jan. Both my partner and I were apprehensive as this was the first night away from home with our newborn. The team at Statham were super friendly and incredibly helpful. The room was exceptional and we all enjoyed ourselves and our trip. It was the most rested either of us had felt in ages! Definately will stay again when next in the area!
- Catherine (10/5): Had an issue with the plumbing which the staff were quick to sort and move us to other room - Location
- raineydays2018 (10/5): Fantastic hotel close to M6 in the picturesque village of Lymm. - Perfect location just off M6 with plenty of free parking.
Great characterful hotel with friendly staff - Restaurant Manager and General Manager were excellent - so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, they couldn’t do enough for us, including a complimentary treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary!
Room and amenities were very comfortable, clean and spacious.
Great value all round and next time we will definitely speak to hotel direct for best rates.
- 968amyh (10/5): Great stay at Statham Lodge - Lovely hotel in a great location. All staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Very reasonable price.
