Guest Reviews

- John (10/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): A relaxing stay in the Devonshire countryside. - Beautiful setting. Friendly, efficient staff. Comfortable beds. Tasty food. Definitely customer focussed. This is a very old building, beautifully restored. However, the floorboards creak and the plumbing clangs. This maybe something that will bother other guests. The EV chargers did not work.
- Patrick (9/5): - A gem of an Inn in a countryside setting.. great alternative to Totnes, which always seems overpriced and overbooked. Delicious food, peace and quiet. No comment
- martin (8/5): Apart ferom phone reception everything was very good - No phone coverage inside the hotel. Very nice hotel
- ADRIAN (8/5): - V comfy bed. Staff very friendly. The £9.75 cost of a pint of bitter.
- nathalie (9/5): j'espère pouvoir y retourner.. - très bel endroit au calme, tout sur place..
- Mark (9/5): - Needed a shelf in the otherwise perfect bathroom.
- Maxine (10/5): - Such a wonderful place to stay while working away from home. Comfortable and a warm atmosphere. Beautiful when the sun shines to sit on decking with a beer. Thank you Nothing
- ANDREW (9/5): - Friendly helpful staff great food and service There were roadworks on the day we arrived and the hotel even said they were unaware of this , very difficult and signposting re detour was ridiculous ( not the hotels fault tbh ).
Also mattress in our room was very uncomfortable ( previous room we have stayed in was not like this ).
- Karen (10/5): Great stay - Stayed here several times. Staff nice, bedrooms nicely kept. Breakfast and evening freshly cooked. The gardens are pretty. Would recommend. Nothing
- karen (8/5): - Very good choice & well cooked. Bed a little soft for me.

Comfortable, clean, good sized bedrooms, a delicious well cooked breakfast and a great restaurant and bar. Great value for money. I would recommend. Nothing to dislike.

Location handy
Setting peaceful
Beautiful atmospheric property
Quiet

Excellent food Nothing to dislike….. well…… apart from having to leave to go home…. Very sad.
- Antony (9/5): Great place for a short break. - Staff friendly and excellent. Food good and overall prices reasonable. There was initially a problem with our room but this was quickly resolved.
- stuart (7/5): I would stay again if the mattress was a little firmer - Nice rural location, nice bar and restaurant. Room and facilities nice and clean. Decent. Great food Only I prefer a firmer mattress, apart from that it was excellent
- Nickie (6/5): Good location - Breakfast was great, room clean and big bathroom Shower took ages to get warm and water flow not great. Wedding guests next door very noisy until 1.30am
Only 1 small bottle water in room
- David (6/5): A. bit more interest by management and the place would offer better value for money. - Very quiet. Good location as long as you don’t mind narrow lanes! The breakfast was only ok. Didn’t think any local producers were involved cos no mention on menu. Orange juice was weak and watery from a box. Toast was not offered unless asked. Minimal quantity of fresh fruit. When asked for bananas was told we only have what is delivered.
Dinner was a fixed list of options without that extra ‘daily specials’ showing lack of interest so we ate out for rest of stay.
The bed had a winter weight duvet in mid September which was far too hot giving us a poor night’s sleep.
- Sally (8/5): - Evening meal was lovely
Breakfast was tasty Not much cooked variety for breakfast but very tasty.
- Catherine (10/5): Great Inn, enjoyed my stay - Dinner and Breakfast were both exceptional all good
- Martin (8/5): Ideal location for my stay - The mattress on both single beds very soft for me Food excellent
- IAN (9/5): Great as always -
- Kari (9/5): -
- Alan (9/5): Comfortable stay with good attentive staff. - Large free car park I think?
Nice area and well presented rooms.
Large shower with plenty of room to move around. Could have been a wider choice. The cooked breakfast was well presented but only luke warm.
The TV could have been larger.
Basin sink location directly opposite the toilet, causing me to bump the top of my head of the underside of the sink, when moving up from sitting on the toilet.

- Lynnette (9/5): Cosy and comfortable. - This is the best place that we've stayed for ages.
Cosy, warm and welcoming. The bedroom was a good size, with quality bedding and furniture. We had a good breakfast but didn't eat in the evening, so I can't comment on that. We would definitely stay again. It felt a little out of the way, but the satnav found it ok.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- DEREK (10/5): wonderful food - luxury nothing
- Dell (10/5): Very relaxing and a beautiful ambiance atmosphere. - It was a beautiful property very clean and well maintained with beautiful decor. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was exceptional. Nothing

Our congratulations go to the staff who made our stay very comfortable, also the food was exceptionally good congratulations to the chef/s.
I thoroughly recommend anyone looking for a visit to Devon to book at 'THE BICKLEY MILL you will not be disappointed. NON/APPLICABLE

- Sharon (10/5): Perfect for Us - Just what we were looking for, a Country Inn with lovely rooms and good food, which they had in abundance. We had the Riviera room, huge king size bed really comfortable. Walk in shower, balcony overlooking the hill side. Food in the restaurant was well cooked and beautifully prepared. My partner said his steak was spot on. Portion sizes were just right enabled us to have all 3 courses. Not

- Sarah (10/5): - We had a really lovely stay at The Bickley Mill. The staff were super friendly. The room was comfortable and modern. We ate in the restaurant for dinner which was excellent, as was the breakfast the next morning. Plenty of parking. Would definitely stay again and will recommend.
- Benjamin (5/5): A nice location but tired room, not worth the price tag. - Comfortable bed Tired room, hook on bathroom door falling off stained walls odd smell in the room.
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommended. - Amazing food and gorgeous property. Friendly staff too.
- Michael (10/5): Attended a wedding that all went off very well - A very nice traditional stone building outside and tastefully restored for practical use inside. Set in a hill side not to far from main routes lovely location. The staff were very attentive to our every need .

- Richard (10/5): - Great room, delicious breakfast, and friendly staff. We would stay here again.
- Steve (10/5): - This is an absolute gem of a place to stay.
Fantastic staff, friendly and informative.
The room was spacious, clean, the best nights sleep.
The food was absolutely amazing, a wide variety on the menu to choose from.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
- Dale (8/5): Pleasant stay and would visit again but with no one above - Nice property with friendly polite staff. Bed was very comfortable. Noise from upstairs. Heard every footstep and every movement. Better sound proofing as could also hear snoring though out the night.
- Ivan (9/5): excellent standard and attentive staff. - Sadly, after first night's dinner I developed Pancreatitus and needed to be admitted for 3 day so never goy to savour any more dinners however my wife liked hers.
We hope to return next year. The heat was only available at certain time period in late afternoon/early eveningng.
And although the heat was too much for me and I turned it off there was time when we would have enjoyed a little.
- Ian (10/5): -
- Adam (10/5): -
- Nick (9/5): All round nice stay, food is excellent! - Nice and clean, great food, great location. Shower was poor. Like an old man blowing down a straw.
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent - Lovely property. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Very professional. Good superb.
- EDWARD (10/5): Excellent place for a short stay - The staff and the food was excellent The weather and the road leading into the mill
- Elaine (9/5): Great stay.. would definitely recommend. - The accommodation was very comfortable and stylish. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
- David (8/5): A very comfortable stay and a delicious meal. - The hotel and restaurant seemed to be run exclusively by very compitent and elegant young ladies, who were expert hosts. My room was very comfortable, and the restaurant meal was delicious. Unfortunately, my upstairs room seemed to have very narrow walls, and I could hear my neighbours quite clearly. However, they quienened down by about 10 pm, so I was able to sleep.
- Lynne (10/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): A very chilled, relaxing and well appointed place fir a romantic overnighter! - For a venue trying to do hotel/restaurant and wedding venue all at the same time they had everything in hand, plenty of helpful staff, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for an Anniversary get away. We were in the eaves so although the bathroom was beautiful and spacious the water pressure was very low. Cant be helped—laws of gravity an’ all!
- graham (10/5): -
- Tish (9/5): -
- stephen (7/5): -
- john (10/5): - Our stay at Bickley Mill Hotel made our family holiday very enjoyable
- Dale (10/5): Pure magic. - Bickley Mill is one of those out of the way hidden places, but with great access to major A roads.
This place has lots of character in its appearance and is very homely inside.
Very professionally run day to day with great, well groomed staff who are very polite and very helpful.
The rooms are all individual, and this time we were very lucky to stay in the Riviera room which boasts an outside balcony where you can sit and enjoy the outside in total privacy. The rooms are all is very spacious and well kept.
Eating here is a great experience and breakfast provides both continental and cooked meals with many options. N/A
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Aiston (10/5): - Breakfast was excellent, staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Nothing
- John (10/5): Cosy, exceptional. - Service, food, warmth of welcome Perfect
- Jonathan (9/5): Lovely inn, excellent and well trained staff. Dinner and breakfast great too - Beautiful inn…inside and out and bedroom was fab with decked balcony too. Nothing!
- Robin (10/5): - Excellent and friendly staff.
- Wendy (10/5): Excellent people and great rooms - It’s just lovely
- Joy (7/5): Room fine apart from noise and stairs.Food good - Interesting. Good dinner and breakfast. 2 flights of stairs. I’m 79 and mobility isn’t great.
All water was on a pumped system so every time someone ran water or flushed toilet it was very noisy.
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Beautiful property, great location, friendly staff. - Beautiful room, great location and setting. Being woken up before 7 am with the Chris Moyles show blaring from the Biffa van radio directly under my window.
- Elaine (9/5): An enjoyable stay in lovely surroundings - Beautiful location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms Breakfast menu was quite basic, however enjoyed what we had and well presented
- Kate (7/5): Nice location - Lovely location and great breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Electric charger point in car park at a fairly reasonable price. The carpet hadn’t been cleaned properly (perhaps a hoover not picking up well) and the room was noisy - people moving round the room above at night woke me and there was some banging.
- Liz (8/5): Lovely location and staff - Lovely room and comfortable bed Breakfast was ok but not very inspirational
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Luxury overnight stay - Extremely clean and beautiful place to stay on route to else where.
Evening meal taken and breakfast included in the price. Both very good.
First look seems a little expensive but actually well worth it
Would go again if in this part of country
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- J.m. (6/5): Dattmoor - Ligging tov Dartmoore National Park .
- Michael (10/5): - Would highly recommend to everyone
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hilary (9/5): Superb - Everything, food, staff all excellent Just a bit isolated
- Alison (8/5): Very good - Staff were all very friendly and helpful.facilities were good, and it did the job, breakfast was good We had a room, which was near the extractor from the kitchen so was very irritating trying to sleep, and the smell took ages to go.
Also whej someone either flushed toilet or turned water on the pumps kicked in,which were noisy especially when people are up during the night.
- Amy (10/5): A truly wonderful, wholesome stay. - The venue was a perfect location for us as we were visiting family in a nearby village. The rooms were wonderful, very spacious but with a lovely cosy feel to them and in keeping with the rest of the building and the grounds. The breakfast and dinner were both absolutely delicious with great service from the waiting staff. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay, my daughter ended up being quite poorly while we were staying and they did everything they could to help make the stay easy and comfortable. It was perfect.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - A beautifully presented and welcoming Inn. Lovely spacious room and ensuite. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal and the breakfast was exceptional. The staff were all friendly with just the right level of attentiveness. We would definitely stay again. Thank you
