• Rose (8/5): We were here for a memorial service for a cousin of my husband’s. This motel was quite clean and pleasant. - We travel a lot. We discovered we prefer this type of small single story motel due to our age. No stairs and parking right outside your room door. The pillows. The mattresses were very comfortable but the pillows? I’ve laid my head on softer rocks! 😁

• Guest (1/5): Very nasty and a waste of money. - There was weird bugs crawling on the bed. When we moved the bed there were dead bugs all on the floors. We talked to the front desk where they told us they only deep clean once a week. They provided us another room where we found bed bugs this time. All the dressers were nasty they had chips and stains. The owner was rude and argumentative. Not accommodating at all. We ended up leaving and staying somewhere else so we didn’t get bed bugs. Do not waste your money here.

• Carl (1/5): Bad - The hot water was so cool that we were literally shaking while taking the shower and when we stepped out. I guess that's a good tactic to save water because it was a very fast shower and very unpleasant. I also checked the water at 4:00 in the morning and it was still the same temperature. So I know it wasn't one of these situations where too many people took a shower at once, This was normal Setting. Call the front desk they gave me the BS that they could only set their hot water heaters to 120° because of state law. The water coming out of the shower head was about 78°. It'll be okay place if you don't have plan on taking a shower or having a hot shave at the sink. Not having hot water, and floor had some dirt on it.
• Ward (8/5): A no frills hotel. Easy in and out. Clean. - The room and facility was clean and quiet. Room was comfortable. Clerk was prepared for our late arrival and the check in was easy and fast. I would definitely stay again. Wish they had morning coffee.

• Middlebrook (9/5): Superb - I’ve stayed here several times. The staff is very nice. They advertised 24 hour front desk but in reality I think they are just willing to get out of bed for the customer. I arrived at 2:00 AM and rang a bell to alert the desk agent. He came out shortly and was very nice. The large rooms have always been very clean. This is not a fancy motel but if you just need a clean safe place to sleep for a night then stay here. They offer no coffee in the morning and no option in the room. I don’t need breakfast but coffee should be a requirement. That’s my one large complaint.
• Bobo (7/5): The Morning Star Inn is definitely the preferred choice in town. - The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. The air was off when we arrived, and in this Texas heat, it took a long time to cool down.

• Maureen (9/5): Nice stay - Pleasant little hotel. Stopped here after a long day of driving and too tired to continue. The only cons were not the fault of the property. There are very few restaurants nearby and none of them were open very late.

It's not a 5 star resort, but then it's not a 5 star price! It's clean, comfy, and affordable. I don't need frills just to get a good night's sleep and a shower. We stay there regularly. a thicker bed cover/blanket. Better quality soap (motel soap is always so drying!) More towels in the room for 2 people. a clock on the night stand.

• Virgie (10/5): I will certainly stay at Morning Star Inn the next time I’m in Anson. - I missed getting a breakfast. I didn’t realize you had one. That’s OK. I brought my own protein drink. I don’t know if anything that you could have done better. My room was very nice & comfortable and clean. The guests in the rooms next door were also quiet & polite They were also down for Home Coming.

• Lisa (4/5): BEWARE! BAD EXPERIENCE - The bed sheets had particales on them, felt like fiber glass. It made you itch we slept on the top sheet after getting up in the middle of the night and taking a shower. Management said they would change the sheets, left all the dirty towels, no cleaning done to the sink or floors. Very small motel, not busy I would think you would go out of your way in a small town to accommodate your guest and build your clientele. Not recommended!!

• Jeffrey (8/5): - An excellent value. It is clean and although an older property, it has been updated. The paint work in the room was sloppy, and the acrylic tub was stained but those are my only real complaints. And at the price point, it seems like a fair exchange.
• Brook (6/5): Late night check in - Was driving late so found this motel off the beaten path. Was 20 miles off I20, further than expected. Got to motel and had to press the service buzzer after hours. Sorry we woke up the worker. Not empresses with the room but seemed clean. Had been ‘remodeled’ sometime before we got there. Craftsmanship lacking. Finish work needed extra care to detail. Everything worked though.

Good WiFi, Working TV, Hot Shower, Comfortable bed and large desktop perfect for after hours paperwork.. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in town!

Drove over 4 hours the day of check in, to be told that previous occupants didn't check out....I would think they would be forced to check out if you book rooms but that was not the case. So we had to go find another hotel in an area we weren't familiar with. All while trying to prepare for the funeral we were in town for. Will not be back to try and stay here again.

I have to disput the charges on my card because they guy who works there refuses to let me speak to the owner and is charging me for damages he claims are left by my REGISTERED SERVICE ANIMAL who he tried to deny entry because he was unaware of the laws.

• Brigette (2/5): Overcharging Customers - - I ended up getting extra charges about $80 worth. I had a pet, paid the pet fee upfront, then after I left they added other charges claiming the dog made a mess (Pet Fee on top of Pet Fee?) My dog is very small and she uses potty pads. After reaching out to Hotels.com, they reached out to this hotel management and then they started claiming additional reasons.. saying a pillow was damaged... Be cautious when staying here, the place was clean and people were nice but decieving when it came to the finances. I won't be staying again here just on principal -I am extrememly dissapointed about the MISC. CHARGES -They should have been more upfront and communicative about the additional fees and issues with the "pillow" etc.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good for Anson, TX - There aren't many choices in Anson, TX for places to stay. Our room was no frills, but clean. Not ultra spacious, but comparable size to plenty of rooms I've stayed in for business travel. We were able to get a king sized bed and tuck our baby's pack-n-play out of the way so we weren't tripping on it in the middle of the night. Parking was available right in front of the room. Perfect home base for the family reunion weekend.

• John (8/5): Typical Small town motel - This is your typical small town motel... a giant building with rooms back to back. It's well lit, and that can be good, unless the curtains are not good. I had a lot of ambient light in the room thanks to the poor curtains. The manager wasn't sure how to handle the stay... apparently booking on this site an hour before arriving is not a good idea, as they couldn't find my booking. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. I got a good nights rest, and its well worth the price.

• David (8/5): Nice stay - The only problem we had was the toilet wouldn't fill, had to take the lid off and mess with the valve, it was manageable, it was late and we left early so didn't bother front desk, just left the lid off as a clue, room was clean and comfy, the Pizza Barn was right next door excellent pizza
