- Costa (10/5): Wonderful experience at the Anchorage by the Sea - We loved everything about the Anchorage. We were traveling and this was a spontaneous stop on our way home. We were more than pleased with the service and atmosphere. The view was beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious also. We encountered the housekeeping staff when checking out and they were also very pleasant. The room was comfortable and immaculate. Needless to say, we hope to return soon and will make this our go to place to stay when in Ogunquit area and tell our friends to stay here. I can't think of anything we didn't like about the Anchorage. Everything was beyond our expectations.

And there was no way to adjust the temperature further than it already was. Because the weather is getting cooler, and it was on the water,we only brought warm jammies with us and with 4 peoople in the room we had not choice but to wear them so it made for a very hot sleeping night. The only other thing which was not a big deal is that our refrigerator was in the bathroom which is a very odd place for it!!!

- Jane (7/5): Rainy days in Ogunquit - Wonderful views. Comfortable outside sitting area although due to rain I never sat there. Restaurant on property. Free coffee morning and afternoon. Really ideal location. On the marginal way and in the middle of town at the same time. I would stay here again. Very small bathroom although sink outside area. Limited space for cosmetics etc. Rather old ac unit that never really got cold enough. Chairs inside not very comfortable. I left one day early since it was rainy. Obviously weather outside our control but it probably affected how I felt about the trip.

However, it was in a separate building across from the main building which was not clearly communicated to me and caused me a long time driving around looking for my room since the rooms were not numbered. Luckily, I ran into a staff member in the parking lot who directed me to the proper location.

Nly 1 other outdoor table, but had to ask 4 service after waiting 20 minutes 11:25am Sept 9. Poached eggs overdone, ham burned & inedible! Waiter FORGOT my room # ..only because we later stopped back to use restroom, they noticed my friend and to my utter embarrassment asked her to pay the tab. Double embarrassment as breakfast was my treat to her for her birthday! Poor service, poor food prep, and humiliation for breakfast!

The beds had plastic sheets beneath in case a kid pissed them. Six hundred dollars a night im embarrassed to say we paid it for Labor Day. Pure supply and demand. They just took as much as they could. Would never stay again.

- Paula (10/5): This is a great hotel to stay in at Ogunquit Beach. - The staff were very friendly when we arrived. The rooms were spectacular as well as the view of the ocean. We will definitely be back next year! The Towers are across the street from the main hotel.

- Thomas (6/5): - Beautiful outside areas & restaurant on property is great. However the carpets in the room and throughout the “towers” building were absolutely filthy. I am not sure if other buildings are better or newer, but they should really invest in getting the flooring renovated, couldn’t even walk barefoot in our room after a shower without our feet / and socks getting dirty! and you can see the filth on the carpet as you walk up the stairs, for the money it should be a lot cleaner/ newer. I would not stay again and I picked up on a lot of weird smells throughout. I also did not find the front desk to be that helpful in a few different scenarios.

- Kathryn (8/5): Nice location if you can afford ocean-side, staff not so great - The location – if you stay on the ocean-side of the property – cannot be beat. Wonderful views, access to the Marginal Way walk, and easy to walk to restaurants and shops. On-site rooms that are across the street are certainly not as convenient and have little or no ocean view. Those rooms are highly, highly over-priced, especially factoring in the dated rooms, paper-thin walls, lack of luggage racks or anywhere but the floor to put your suitcase. Robes and slippers is like putting lipstick on a pig – would rather see rooms remodeled or brought up-to-date. Front desk clerk could not explain why invoice was more than what bookings.com had confirmed, putting all the blame on booking through a third party and looking down her nose at us because we didn’t book directly with the hotel – which I explained we did not do because it is more expensive and there is a punitive cancellation policy. Took no accountability and stated that guests booking through bookings.com could NOT have a printed invoice from the hotel. What? I guess so the hotel doesn’t have to explain the extra charges? Exasperating. We also had terrible and slow service at the on-site restaurant.
