- Deborah (9/5): A beautiful hotel with great facilities but disappointing service at the front desk. - Beautiful, spacious room and bathroom. Beds were so soft and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. The temperature of our room was too hot and the air conditioner would only heat not cool the room. The staff at the front desk were not very friendly or helpful. We paid for our accommodation in full 7 days before our stay but staff at front desk said we hadn’t paid. They eventually found our payment, but did not give the service you’d expect in this type of hotel.

- Anne (10/5): I would definitely stay at the Westin again. - You can't beat the location for snowboarding at Rusutsu. The rooms were clean, modern, comfortable and had a wonderful view! I thought the food at the Atrium was very good. Small stuff. I had two enormous televisions in my suite. But, didn't get to use either very much because they weren't smart TV's. And except for the news stations everything else was in Japanese, which I don't speak. And, I thought the breakfast space was a bit limited for the amount of people eating each morning. It was often a bit too crowded to feel like you could have a nice relaxed breakfast and enjoy the spread.
- Marcus (9/5): Great stay, whole family loved it! - Clean, modern looking room which looks recently renovated. Breakfast and room service were above expectations. Rooms are spacious, giving lots of space for my 2 young kids to play. Hotel is a bit away from the main ski area, but the monorail helped overcome this issue. Very glad we chose this. Although the room is clearly for 4 pax, housekeeping kept giving us just 2 towels. Had to repeat the cycle to calling for 2 extra towels every day. Good food options while available are somewhat limited if you don’t drive out.

Spacious onsen and ski locker room. Strange layout with the main bedroom upstairs and no en suite and the 2 beds coming out of the wall. The property needs a larger area to serve breakfast on the weekends.

- Karen (3/5): Disappointing hotel and experience - Location was good. The description of the hotel did suggest that the hotel was a ski in-ski out resort. It isn't. There is still a walk away from the chair lift requiring you to take your snow boards off. But this was not a big issue as we don't have very young kids. Room - we had booked the family room but the mezzanine layout was not good. All the heavy suitcases needed to be carried down stairs. The family room is also advertised for 4 people occupancy but the extra bed is charged out. A bit ridiculous when the bed is already in the room as a fold out unit from the wall. There is a kitchenette but no stove or microwave. Food - the restaurants in the hotel was impossible to get reservations for and the room service was served in takeaway boxes. This would not be an issue if the portions were good but it was small and so expensive. Staff - we understand that there was an influenza issue amongst the staff, but the team that were on duty were clueless and the customer service levels were well below par. We had paid a lot of money for the short time we were there and expected a lot more of this resort.
- Donna (7/5): Beautiful location and access to East Rusutsu Mountain skiing, a bit understaffed. - Ski lockers, ski rental booth and the kiosk to print out lift tickets were all good access for hotel guests. The shuttle back to Sapporo was a tangible convenience. The onsen was very nice. The check in process was prolonged due to staff shortages. Our breakfast room service order was delayed and had to be followed up on several times.

Very good location - 2 minutes from ski lift connecting hotel with Rusutsu ski area It's funny how even the very expensive hotel chains do not understand what skiers really need, even if they are self-proclaimed "ski hotel". There is absolutely no room to dry your cloths, we have to use literally every available place to hang them. Expensive.

- M (10/5): Great hotel for our ski trip to Risutsu. - The room was excellent - double story, so much space. Loved that you could get discount vouches for opting for green cleaning of room ( think that’s what it was called)- such a great idea. Easy access to slopes, frequent monorail service to Rusutsu resort. Staff were great, so accommodating, so polite and always smiling. Great storage for ski gear. Nothing to comment on except there could have been a better messaging service re the closure of the noodle bar for a private function - only found out when went to the restaurant and so disappointed we couldn’t have our last meal at this restaurant as it was fab the first time we tried it.

- Yan (4/5): The experience was incredible disappointing - Room size is perfect The hotel service was extremely disappointing. I booked a room for two adults and two children, yet everything was prepared for only three people. I called to request an extra towel set and to have the additional bed set up. After waiting an hour with no response, I had to call again, and it still took another thirty minutes before anything happened. The next day, we returned from skiing to find that the room hadn’t been cleaned at all—no fresh towels, no tidying, and not even the rubbish collected. We called once more and waited a long time, and when a staff member finally arrived, they only took the rubbish and left without addressing anything else. Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing.

But having the bedroom on the top level without a bathroom makes u awake after waking up for toilet. It is hard to go up and down for elderly.

- hendra (8/5): It’s a nice place to stay but you will find difficulties if you’re muslim, other than that everything is beautiful. - The location is amazing, the staff are kind and helpful, snow activities and facilities are great. They have monorail to take you from Westin to Rusutsu Resort, it runs from 07:00 - 23:00. They have bus to take you to sapporo and other places, but you need reservations for this. It’s a 2 floors room, we had to carry our luggage up and down by stairs. There’s no halal food, it will be difficult for muslim travelers.
- Ying (10/5): Luxurious with good service - We stayed in the newly renovated one-bedroom bilevel loft. The room was spacious and beautiful. Well-equipped with tea and coffee facilities. My children love to drink the mountain water from the special tap. Staff were friendly and helpful. We have 5% discount purchases from shops within Westin and 10% discount on dining. The food served at the Atrium was good quality. The ski slopes and activities area is only one monorail away, which makes it convenient yet less crowded than main resort area. Onsen was good too. We took the free shuttle bus from Sapporo to Rusutsu, the 2 hour ride was comfortable as well. We will be back again.

- Kriscia (10/5): - The moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The service team is friendly and efficient. The room is fantastic. Bright and spacious. Amenities are good. Super clean. Very comfortable pillow. One of the best stays.

We booked our stay with a child, but other than the first night, our child's yukata/pyjamas were always collected but never replaced. When we requested from the front desk, couple of times it never appeared or took a reminder call.

The air conditioning in the upper room did not seem to work too well. Even though it was winter, we prefer to have a cooler room for sleeping. One room worked well but not the other. Overall still a great stay!
- Chittawee (9/5): Comfortable room with excellent view - The room was very big in duplex style with superb view (as it was ski resort). There was enough room area for kids to enjoy their time. There was an outdoor onset, including indoor, to relax after a long day activities. Because of duplex, it was a bit dangerous for children. As well as the bathroom was on the downstair while the bed room was on the second floor. It was not convenient in this situation.

The rooms were fabulous, however having the bedroom at the top of a very long staircase with no toilet facilities next to it, it felt a bit dangerous to go to the toilet down all those stairs in the middle of the night.

- Michael (9/5): The Westin was a great destination for our first visit to Rusutsu, and will happily return again. - The proximity to ski fields was very convenient and the split level room a pleasant surprise. The onsen was great. There was a good variety of restaurants in the hotel but we would have enjoyed trying some more authentic budget dining options.

- Paul (7/5): Nice hotel with good food, but expensive and many inconviences - Great service, food and cleanliness. Two story room requires walking down stairs to use the bathroom at night. Billed as "ski-in, ski-out.". That is blatantly false. There's a long walk, part of which is uphill, to get to a lift that is a 10 minute ride to the base of the slopes, where you again have to walk uphill to then walk up stairs to board a gondola that takes you to where you can actually ski. Atrocious falsehood calling this ski-in, ski-out. There is no bus from the hotel to the airport early enough to catch a 10 am flight (??!).
