• Simmons (9/5): 3 night stay, mid may Paul and Kim. 🇬🇧 - Quiet and just far enough away from the hustle and hustle to be a nice retreat. Close enough to easily access anything you could need. Peaceful, clean, great facilities. Staff were incredible, friendly, helpful and made sure we had anything we needed and also really did make us welcome and comfortable. There was nothing other than no breakfast on offer, however....there is an awful lot nearby and we enjoyed exploring local cafes and bars

Bathroom clean and a good size. Hotel staff very helpful and accomodating. It was a duplex with one bed in the hall way and 2 single beds on a mezzanine, no privacy. No bedside light.

The hotel staff were very kind and helpful—they allowed us to leave our luggage after check-out. The hotel is conveniently located close to all the main attractions, bus and train station in Venice, making it easy to explore the city on foot. There are food shop and cafes near the hotel.

• James (5/5): Has charm but can be busy. - The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the main train station. There is even a mosaic type sign in the floor that points you over the main bridge towards the hotel. The hotel has a distinct character. The reception person shows you to your room as there are various staircases and landing areas. The hotel is on the main walking route from the train station to the main attractions of the Rialto bridge and St Marks square. This made the area busy and noisy at times. It is also next to a working a canal. Boats travel up and down from early until late. Because of the proximity to the canal there were signs up in the hotel about mosquitos. This made me reluctant to open my hotel window. Making the interior pretty dark given that there were also shutters on the window as well. The quality of the water was OK to wash with but I would still use bottled water to brush teeth.

Ubicación adecuada para recorrer la ciudad caminando y localizado cerca de la estación de trenes. Antiguamente el hotel tenía un restaurante que en la actualidad no funciona, pero alrededor hay lugares que puedes comer o tomarte un sabroso café.

• Antonio (9/5): - Very good position, less than ten minutes walk from the Santa Lucia train station and close to various wonderful attractions, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista, and the Basilica of Santa Maria dei Frari. Quiet and safe neighbourhood, with several places for eating out and a small supermarket. Clean room with bathroom recently refurbished. Very kind personnel at the reception. Breakfast is not served at the hotel but you have nearby the excellent Pasticceria Marin (by the canal) or the Brillo Parlante, in Campo San Stin, a small square. Just a small annoyance: in my room the light switch was only by the door, so I could not switch the light on and off from the bed.
• Travis (8/5): Centrally located, comfortable, safe, with great staff. Would definitely stay again. - Character of the hotel fit the atmosphere of the city/was very authentic. Room was good size for a European city. We enjoyed the fact that you can leave your key with the staff so that it is never lost, and that there is always someone at the desk for safety. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Could not figure out the A/C unit, but the weather was cool enough that we could just open a window (also could have asked, but we figured it wasn’t worth bothering the staff about). A really small nitpick: vending machine was broken, but there is an excellent market in close proximity.

• Sevgi (8/5): Das Hotel Basilea Venice bietet eine gute Lage und solides Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis - Das Hotel Basilea in Venedig punktet vor allem mit seiner guten Lage, die es ermöglicht, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten bequem zu Fuß zu erreichen. Gerade für einen Städtetrip ist das ein großer Vorteil. Die Zimmer sind insgesamt zweckmäßig eingerichtet und in Ordnung, auch wenn sie stellenweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen wirken könnten. Der Service ist freundlich und bemüht, sodass man sich als Gast gut aufgehoben fühlt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt insgesamt, besonders für eine so zentrale Lage in Venedig. Insgesamt ein gutes, einfaches Hotel für Reisende, die Wert auf Lage und einen fairen Preis legen und auf etwas Luxus verzichten können.

Cerca de la estacion de tren, buses, taxis, etc. Ademas que en los alrededores tiene oferte gastronomica y tambien algunos markets para comprar cualquier cosa. The shower was clean and had hot water, perfect after the long walk. The mattress was nice and firm our backs thanked us in the morning, We (two women) felt safe anc comfortable even late at night in and around the hotel (the area is safe) The room was basic, had all necessities. The staff were helpful, kind and super friendly and even helped out when our phone charger broke, we left the phone with them for the whole day. Amazing hospitality. I think his name was alexandro? Thank you so much! The style is a bit outdated but it gives a cute retro "visiting grandmas" vibe the blankets were a bit rough to the touch and felt a bit itchy (the material) but we had a comfortable sleep! The rooms had AC but no remote however a fan was provided upon request. The phone was there to call the reception but no number was provided so in case you need reception you just have to try all the numbers in 3's (999, 111) until it may connect or go downstairs!

• Vladislav (7/5): Разумный вариант проживания для пеших путешествинников - Персонал вежливый, круглосуточная стойка, заселили раньше, номер чистый, бельё чистое, душевые принадлежности и мыло в номере были, кровать удобная, рядом продуктовый магазин, есть вендинговый аппарат в холле, бесплатный wi-fi, от/до вокзала 7-10 мин пешком, до основных достопримечательностей около 15-20 мин пешком. По сочетанию расположение+сервис+цена для меня получился почти идеальным вариантом - бронировал за сутки до заезда за 110€/ночь+налог. На момент поиска вариантов проживания он был самым разумным выбором. Состояние номера (мебель, ремонт, двери и тд) очевидно устаревшее. Отелю в целом требуется реновация. Звукоизоляция внутри здания посредственная (детей и их родителей из соседнего номера слышно хорошо). В отеле отсутствует лифт, а номера для проживания находятся на 2-3 этажах - для кого-то это может быть категорически неудобно. В итоге всё неплохо, но без изысков. Вариант проживания не без компромиссов, но удобный - особенно если нужно только ночевать и если путешествуете на поезде.

The streets can get loud at night because the entire city is always busy, but compared to other neighbourhoods this one is actually one of the best to stay. The only thing missing is that the showers do not have a place to put your shampoo and gel! So you had to leave them on the floor while showering.

La stanza ci e’ stata consegnata alle 12 anziché alle 15 e al check out abbiamo potuto lasciare le borse per goderci l’intera giornata in giro. Ci fosse il sevizio colazione sarebbe top Nessun servizio per la colazione

• Jack (7/5): - Really lovely staff and the location was phenomenal. Easy room and good facilities. It was too hot - they had the radiators on full blast and wouldn't turn them off. Had to have the windows open wide all night and it was hard to sleep. They said due to local laws that they couldn't turn the heating off for a few more weeks.

• Raul (8/5): - Ubicación de 10, cerca de todo y una calle muy tranquila, con un supermercado enfrente, una cafetería, un bar y la plaza de Roma con la parada de trenes y autobuses donde llegas del Aeropuerto a 5 minutos. Estaba súper limpio incluyendo sábanas y toallas, y calefacción encendida todo el día. Los 2 chicos de recepción súper majos. El aspecto de la habitación puede no ser el mejor, parece antigüo, pero realmente está muy bien. Cómo punto negativo que no hay desayuno.
• Giuseppina (10/5): - L'albergo Basilea non è moderno o chic ma offre personale più che gentile e qualificato e una posizione comodissima per tutto e per qualsiasi tipo di viaggio, in un quartiere con delle chicche meravigliose! peccato non avere la colazione, sarebbe un plus per un piccolo angolo di comodità a Venezia! alcune camere sarebbero da rinnovare, ma è comunque un ottimo albergo!!
