Guest Reviews
- Chris (2/5): - There is no way they should charge what they charged for 1 night stay.
- Ran (2/5): Very poor - We arrived and the owner said that there is no room
Because there is a problem with it
- TripCos (6/5): Reasonable value for the money - not good, but very cheap - Very basic cheap room, 110 for one night including taxes. You're not getting much, but if you're just looking for a place to crash for the night along the road and not spending time there, it's okay.
Good: Plenty of space in the room. Mini-fridge worked well, has a separate freezer that really freezes. Wi-fi worked well, and nothing was broken or malfunctioning. Woman at front desk was friendly and helpful.
Bad: No power outlets near nightstand. No microwave. No light switch reachable from the bed, so you have to get up to turn light on or off. Only one tiny tube of combined shampoo+conditioner provided, no body wash or separate liquid soap/shampoo, so bring your own.
- Victor (10/5): - This is a low-end motel. There is incessant traffic noise from the highway. The only nearby eating establishment is Star Cafe, a typical greasy spoon with minimal fare. The only saving graces are the adjacent laundromat and the price. There is also a minimart by the gas station for survival needs.
- Elba (7/5): Good -
- stephen (2/5): - we paid top dollar for the Jacuzzi suite. Room was out dated and smelled like mold and cat urine. They offered a regular suite. But after seeing the expensive room we were afraid to see the low end room. They did not want to refund any money. Because we used a 3rd party booking. We did not stay we drove the 3 hours home
- Carol (4/5): I won't go there again. I would rather pay a little more and have a cleaner and quieter place. - price was good and near meal sources. mold in the A/C unit, Shower mat black mold on the bottom, the people in the room above us was making a lot of noise all night.
- James (10/5): - This property was fairly clean but shabby and run down. A new bathtub is sorely needed. The bed was comfortable and there was a small refrigerator with a freezer which we needed. The person at the desk was friendly and helpful. We have stayed places for the same cost that were much nicer
- Allison (1/5): The rooms where disgusting. We didn't stay and could not get a refund - The location was close to town My card had been charged before we arrived or I would not have paid. We had 2 rooms both rooms stunk of smoke and mold. They looked shabby although we were told they had just been renovated. The bath tub hadn't been cleaned in years and was coated in moldy scum. The water damaged ceiling tiles were brown and falling into the tub. Both rooms were alike. WE LEFT with no refund from the motel or booking.com.
- Carl (2/5): not worth the money. - the location was the best part. dirty room. tub was unusable. bathroom door didn't close. not sure what the smell was but is was not good.
- Darlyne (4/5): - It was economical but deferred maintenance probably accounts for that. Outside is trash-free. Front desk young man was efficient. Room smelled musty. Couldn’t stay there more than one night.
- Deborah (4/5): - Property run down and out of the way
- William Scott (8/5): - In spite of all the negative reviews we read .. some of which portray this hotel as seedy .. and "dangerous" this was not our experience and I was glad I booked before I read them. The staff was fantastic, friendly and accommodating - and we arrived late.. so they could have been not nice. yes the building is tired and aging . and needs an update ..very much so .. but for the cost - was well worth it. and when paired with Star's Cafe - a small independent 6am to 2pm breakfast lunch cafe.. which for less that $20.00 we got 2 "everything omelettes" that filled a platter with, toast and coffee -- who needs the "included" stock breakfasts you get at most discount motels like Super 8 .. in Canada those omelettes would have been $20 ea. .. so worth the stay for a quick stop .. while travelling I90
- Sandra (4/5): - I do not recommend this hotel! Very dated, not close to very many restaurants, undesirable people there. We were worried about theft.
- Eliza (7/5): Good - Great location with laundromat attached and convenience store and food very close. We stayed while cycling the Empire trail and could keep our bikes in the room.
- W. (1/5): No stay. Not at any price - Nothing Nothing dirty urine odor disgusting an insult to the traveler. Barely managed to find another room which was perfect. The place is a disgrace. Canceled our second reservation for a few days later.hno
- Terri (8/5): - Quick service. Friendly staff
- Sheila (2/5): - old soap on the tub shelf and there the second day also.
no tea or even hot water. I filled a cup of water in the
laundry room -the sink was filthy.
I only stayed the second night because of the price.
I am on limited income and no senior discounts, etc.
- Jeff (2/5): - I booked a room on expedia.ca and upon arriving at the hotel I was informed the room was not supposed to be listed for online booking. The desk clerk tried to upsell me into the the same room for more money. I took a standard room. The room condition was pathetic to say the least. The bed was broken, the desk chair was not able to be sat in for fear of falling apart, the bathroom was from late 70's or early 80's. Five days later I am still waiting for a refund from expedia due to the manager never being at work.
- Reenie819 (2/5): Trying to contact a guest - I was trying to call my friend who was staying at the hotel. I spoke to a woman named Sue who was the rudest, most ignorant, and arrogant person I had ever spoke to in my life. She told me she is not going to put the call through to the room because they took her phone because she has a cell phone. The cell phone she does have does not work it has no service. So now there is no way for me to contact her. According to sue she is the manager and what she says goes and she is not going to even try to put the call through. When I asked to speak to corporate office she said there isn't one and hung up on me. I work for the Ramada inn and the comfort inn in Boston for 14 years. If we ever had an employee speak to a guest or even a person on the phone in that manner they would have been fired on the spot. You need to do something about Sue and her attitude thank you
- Donna (4/5): - Actual large section of mildew on the bathroom ceiling. Very loud environment with folks roaming around at 2am. However, sheets and towels were at least clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was a great sleeping place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was nice
- Verified traveler (4/5): Okay, but beware of mold - There was some significant mold in the bathroom that set off my asthma. The bathrooms weren’t quite what was in the pictures. It was okay enough for just crashing for the night, but I wouldn’t have stayed longer.
- angel j. (8/5): Mr. - OK
- German (2/5): - The place was dirty, bed had holes and stains the bed itched all night. Staff where not the best bathroom disgusting and shower was clogged and stunk the whole time and a big sticky stain on the floor.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I thought the negative reviews were people over reacting until my visit.
There is an additional charge (deposit) when you get there that was not on the website.
Check-in lady told me she needed a deposit (even though my room was paid in full) first she said $200 then $300 (a handwritten sign taped to the register read $100. You get it back once you checked-out instead of waiting 14 days back on your credit card.
When I checked out another lady gave me a hard time. I had a receipt and told her I'm not leaving without the deposit.
The rug was not cleaned at all and was wet, go barefoot in the room and your feet ended up black/dirty.
Locks you had to push your door shut to actually lock it.
They have no extra rolls of toilet paper and forget about having the bedsheets cleaned/dry or extra pillows
Towels they had to take to wash/dry and return as well.
The maids that came around was the only thing positive
I can say about this place. They were polite to us, apologetic, they did deserve the tips.
- T8291DNmichelled (2/5): Blood on the sheets on my bed... - We got a room that looked like it was from the 1950's. The place was a literal hole! It doesn't look like it was ever cleaned - I took the sheet off and it had a bloody smear across it. We took pictures of every thing the microwave was dirty, the floor was dirty the AC looked like it was from the '50's too. The final straw was the bloody sheets that were on my bed.
- Charles (6/5): Good service basic room - Arrived early and could not check in immediately. Attendant went out of her way to come find me waiting nearby to give me my key. Room was basic and in need of update but clean. Lots of noise outside. Great cafe across the parking lot for a great breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The area was peaceful. However, what I didn't like were the carpets in the room. They were dirty to the touch.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cheap and easy. Nothing fancy, in fact expected slightly nicer but it got the job done
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Book somewhere else. Trust me. Too much to explain.
- Jackie (2/5): Rip off . - So I’m an essential working for hospital and clinics. I travel from Texas to Maine installing medical equipment. I paid for a 5 night stay . I had to leave on the 3rd day to head to another job . I was only here until another Lead Boss showed up to take over. I check out on the 3rd day. I ask the manager if she can give me 2 days of hotels fee back . She told me she could give me a voucher . I explained to her I wanted two days of stay put back on my card that I paid for at her front desk . I explained I sure I’d never be back here to stay . She refused to give me money back . Again only stayed 3 days but paid for 5. I have been trying to contact her since I left. She has ignored me and not called me back . So guess I have to take her to court . Also will be reporting her to BBB . Cause she is ripping people off. She should not be running the hotel or any hotel at that .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stay was ok. Jacuzzi was nice. Convenient Location.
- tracy (8/5): - It was comfortable and pleasant
- Marianne (6/5): A Convenient Location - A clean and well maintained motel but not the most glamorous.
- Verified traveler (4/5): WHAT TO EXPECT!? - Greeting was good the attendant was very nice. But once We arrive to the room it had a old mold smell, once I walk to the bathroom I notice the problem was indeed the bathroom. The tub look like it haven't been clean in months and there was mold around the edges, shower curtain was stained with mold as well. I just did not use the tub, and ended washing up with was clothes to fresh up. I did not expect a 5 star MOTEL but ive been in some witch are decent to shower in and feel comfortable.... I hope there able to Upgrade soon so Us guess can feel safe. SPECIALLY WITH COV-19 around.
KEEP US SAFE AND YOURSELF...........WE WONT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN GOOD LUCK TO WHO DUE STAY HERE.... I DON'T RECOMMEND BRINGING CHILDREN NOT EVEN FOR A NIGHT STAY...
- Lisa (6/5): - When we arrived we had to wait about 20 minutes before the front desk clerk showed up. The air conditioner was not on when we arrived, the room took a long time to cool. The room is very dated. They painted everything beige including the baseboards. Only one bedside table lamp in a room that has two tables. The heat lamp switch is exposed and a hazard, the lightbulbs in the bathroom does not match, the knobs on the bathtub is dated as well as the floor and wall tile. On the upside, even though the bed is dated, it was very comfortable and we slept very well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Check in was seamless since we had a reservation through Expedia.
The water pressure was low, and water temperature fluctuated constantly.
Our room did lose power for a few moments but the staff were quick to respond and fix the issue.
There is a small gas station about 50 steps from the rooms which is great when you want a late night snack.
The room had a distinct odor that we could not get rid of with air fresheners.
- Rebecca (6/5): 2 stars for sure - It’s a low budget hotel. Kind of warn down and needs some updating. The nozzle in the tub was lose, bed was old, carpet was nasty, outlets were horrible. For the price I paid I was definitely hoping for something nicer. When I walked in the room it stunk. Probably won’t go back. The pictures on the internet are not exactly what it looks like. Be ware!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and tidy and the staff was very professional and friendly
- jasonmO4342OZ (2/5): Worse Hotel I've Stayed In A Long Time - This hotel doesn't even deserve 1 circle. Mold growing around shower rings, a/c and bathroom where both full of dust 🤧 & debree! Both I had to touch up on my own. For a non smoking 🚭 room I had to air out the room for over 2 hours so I could breath, notified front desk & her reply was, "What can I tell you? People smoke?". Not the answer I was looking for. TV did not work, hotel staff never came. All this and they wanted a $50 incidental hold, which they photocopied my CC & Drivers License, which I was not comfortable with. I know I won't be back!!
- megmck30 (2/5): Spend the extra cash to stay elsewhere. - I was passing through and needed a room due to the weather. I appreciate that the front desk was able to accommodate an early check in and was surprised that the room had a fridge and microwave. However, the room needs major renovation. There were multiple nicks and dents in the walls, the bathroom was horrifying. The caulk around the tub was all cracked, there was mold around the edges. There was paint splatter everywhere. There was a crack between the door and the outside so there was a constant breeze. Spend the extra cash and stay at the Super 8 down the road.
- Steven (6/5): could have been better - Television control was broken.
No clock in room
no heat control in room
- Pmack17 (2/5): Racket all night - *No* amenities, and incredibly loud road noise, even for a highway motel. Just a bleak 2 story motel surrounded by a sea of echoing asphalt. Go anywhere else! Don't understand how this place got any reviews better than average
- Rroyaleye (2/5): Just Read - I Get To the Knightsinn and at first I thought the Staff Wasit was decent and very kind but then after add a stay there I realized I was wrong This Review Is Not Meant To Discourage Potential GUESTS ONLY To INFORM AND SO MANAGEMENT CAN RECTIFY THE SITUATION.
the carpet is Horrendous/Filthy,The Coffee Is Gone by 9,The Heat Doesn't work Very well I turned it all the way up and still I'm typed this from beneath the Blankets (WHICH ARE ACTUALLY PRETTY DECENT?) The Shower Is Either too hot or cold or Luke warm, Criminals Frequent This Inn, the phones don't call out the WiFi is SLOW But For 70 bucks It's Better Than hotels in the Bronx.
- Anton (6/5): - No heat and tub was horrible. Also if im early u cant check in until 3pm or sometimes 2:30pm i guess thats policy
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was in a nice location, the maid service was efficient. My one complaint is there was no hot watee in the shower
- Michelle (2/5): - It was nothing like the website. In the middle of nowhere.. toilet didn’t work... lots of people walking around asking for drugs or money
- Tonyamarie (2/5): - This is a hotel you should not be recommending to families!!! It should be refunded as we were afraid for our lives when the people in the room next to us were screaming HELP at 3am. And then the hotel manager/owner banged on their door for over an hour trying to get them to leave. I’ve never been so uncomfortable in my life!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A lot of noise
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very old and out-dated.....Outside stairs for non-smoking--small bathroom with no hooks for clean clothes...doors still use keys for entry..bulky…..but was clean
- Colin Cherry (2/5): Terrible accomodation - Thisn was probabbly the worst hotel my friends and I ever stayed in!
the rooms were cold and the heat was'nt working. Big gaps on the bottom of the door and very limited covers on the bed.
Only one light working on my room and the bathroom was awful with no enamel on the bath.
I left me with the feeling Hotels.com misrepresented me and I am not so sure whether I would use there services again.
Just awful!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff was rude and unhelpful. Got eaten up by bedbugs all night! Without a doubt one of the worst motels I've ever stayed in after many years of traveling on the road.No breakfast. They refused to refund my money after informing them of the bedbug infestation. There are people permanently living at the motel with kids who are roaming around during the night. Transients and druggies also. NEVER stay at this horrible place!
- Tina (2/5): The room was nothing like the photo - My husband and I just needed a quick place to spend the night while we were looking in the area at homes to buy we knew that this hotel was a no frills hotel however we did think that there would be some kind of comfort when we walked into the room we were overwhelmed with the smell of smoke even though the room was supposed to be a smoke free room there was an ashtray on the table my husband went to use the bathroom and could not get back out because the door only open from the outside we did not get a chance to look at the bed linens because we turned our key in five minutes after checking in there was no refund and the person who checked us and told us they would call us the next day after speaking with the manager and we never received a call back I would truly hope that hotels.com would remove this listing from their web From their website The room was nothing like the photos shown to us the carpet had stains as well as the wall and the TV did not work
- Dee (4/5): - The room was far too bright to sleep with a light right outside the window all night and thin curtains with gaps on top and sides. Freezer compartment needed defrosting and had food bits frozen on the inside surface. My room had no "do not disturb" sign, so I got woken at at 9 AM when I had planned to sleep in my first morning after a bad experience trying to get to sleep. The shower was stained from prior mold stains. It was clean, but looked awful and old. Instalations were not done professionally and not attractive at all. Just a cheap place to stay with nice staff. The bed was soft but the pillows were high, and that is a combonation to give back/neck aches. I'd bring my own lower pillow if I had to stay there again.
- michelle (2/5): Nasty place. - Most disgusting hotel i have ever stayed in. Spider webs everywhere, chairs were stained, finish on bathtub was coming off.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - If I were the owner or manager of the property, I would be embarrassed to rent out rooms here. If it were not for the fact that all other hotels in the area were either totally booked up or triple their usual rates because of a local event, I would not have stayed here. The manager was friendly and helpful enough, but honestly, the room was embarrassing. Some of the bed linens were badly stained, the a/c was caked with years of dust, and the sink refused to drain. Anyway, we had a place to sleep, so it was not a total loss, but I would not recommend this place to anyone.
- Marianne (4/5): - We were given a smoking room although we requested non-smoking. The bed sheets and a couple of the towels were dirty. We were relocated to another room which was nonsmoking and the linens were clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the place was clean and quiet. No Riff Raff. I stayed here due to an impending storm and it was a good deal too.
- Waymen (2/5): Fantastically Horrendous - Absolutely disgusting! Unbelievably horrendous! I should have just gotten a card board box and slept on the sidewalk, it would have been cleaner! The place was filthy, swarming with flies, garbage behind dresser and bed, strong odor of mildew, carpet was amazingly filthy! Had on brand new socks, i took no more than 4 steps in carpet and bittom of socks were black with dirt! Had to throw socks away! Sheets were in the least dusty with hair and black spots, mattress competely shot and lop sided! Didnt take a shower because bathroom was so dirty! The entire drop ceiling was acrtually falling down! The place was unbelievably horrible! If it wasnt so late when we arrived and if we werent so exhausted we certainly would not have stayed! And to top it off it was expensive! Im actually rather dissapointed in hotels .com as well for even having such a dump listed! The place needs to be demolished, i didnt know hotels like this still existed!
- Rachel (10/5): Cozy- loved it - The lady that checked us in was the sweetest- so nice. Room was clean and comfortable- very cozy. Will stay there again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Right off exit
That's about it.
Seemed more of a halfway house where people staying extended time to a point where there is a large laundromat right next to lobby...i wouldn t stay there again, i felt very UNSAFE. AND TV DIDNT WORK AT ALL. Broken.
- Adebo (6/5): Room amenities did not match what was advertised - Average room, with few amenities. Booking site advertised refrigerator and microwave. No microwave in room. Room was old, but quiet.
- James (2/5): - I have stayed in a lot of motels in life. I have nothing positive to say about our 2 nights there. After arriving and getting key, key would noot unlock door, went to office for help clerk came down and said it was broken and there was a Trick to it, she tried for 10 minutes with no results, went to the office with someone else after 15 more minutes she finally got the door open. She said their repair person was sick and not avaiable to fix it. We asked for another room but were told their were none. We had traveled almost 550 miles so we stayed, my wife held the door open will i got our bags. We had no clue if door would open once we were inside. It was harder getting out then in. I managed to leave in the Morning for Cooperstown,Ny, my wife stayed behind not feeling well.. I told the maid not to desterb her I would get clean towels later. My wife awoke to someone entering the room, a man with tool boxes, I asked him to leave I was in bed ( not dressed ) he proceeded to prop door open sat on a chair took the lock apart in an attempt to fix it, then decided to replace the lock leaving without giving key to new lock, wasvery upsetting having this strange man enter the room. My wife just got settled and manage to go back to sleep only to have maid bang on the door until I opened it, she tried but chain lock was on. Room had no do not disturb signs but they were verbally told. Other issues were tv remote did not change channels, they were informed no other remotes, very dirty
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was close to amsterdam descent priced rooms were neat and clean no coffee makers
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Property had dirty feel about it. Stains on the carpeting; no way to lock room from the inside. There was no continental breakfast as advertised. Very poor lighting within the room.
- J8492UQmichaelv (10/5): Decent place to sleep - I was in town on business and the Knights Inn had the best rate for the night which helped make my decision on where to stay. The staff was nice and I fell asleep easy on the bed. There are a few amenities nearby and a diner on premises I think.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - About what I expected for the price. In the first room I was given the bathroom window did not close as this was a ground floor room that was a security concern. When I went back to reception the receptionist apologized and immediately moved me to another room.
Great location near NY Thruway, parking lot well lit and room was quiet.
- Valena (8/5): We would stay again - Room was very clean and roomy. The area wasnt bad and pretty quiet too. Only thing I would have changed would be they should have wifi but still wasnt a big deal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stars Cafe on the property was wonderful. Good food at great prices.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The girl at check-in was not friendly at all. This motel- not HOTEL- was disgusting and filthy. The room smelled. The carpets were gross. The sheets had brown stains on them covered with black crumbs. I had to ask the girl at the desk for clean sheets and she just switched us to another dirty room. The TV remote did not work so couldn't watch anything. There was NO breakfast as advertised. I would not recommend this pit to my biggest enemy. BEWARE!!
- Garry (6/5): 8 hour sleep. - Very nice people. It’s just a tired looking hotel.
- Todd (6/5): There is NO Breakfast at this Hotel - Paid for the hotel and selected the hotel because they offered a "FREE BREAKFAST FOR ONE". They do not serve breakfast, they have COFFEE... When I stay at a hotel, I take into consideration the FREE BREAKFAST as part of the Cost of staying.
- brian (2/5): Worst place i ever stayed at - Place very dirty no hot water
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I will never stay there again. Room was filthy. They never left us clean linnen, no phones in room to call desk. No toiletries or cups in room. Just a bad experience all around. Not to mention the noise all nite long.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No documents in room regarding wifi or tv use. No tv channel guide. Staff was receptive and helped. No remote for volume on tv. Staff found one for us. Bed was terrible. Heat was unplugged on arrival and so noisy we slept without and it was cold.
- Sunny_Side2000 (2/5): NO NEVER - A friend of mine came into town and unfortunately decided to stay at Knights Inn. My husband and I went to pick him up, and I am shocked at MANY things that I saw. For one, the metal stairs on the outside that bring you to the upstairs rooms are warped, rusted and SCARY to say the least. The room was even worse! The carpet was disgusting, stained and dirty. I would assume it is original to this building. When we saw how gross it was, we offered our friend to stay with us for the week. When we went to sign him out and turn in his key, the woman at the desk was beyond rude! She asked why he wasn’t staying longer, and he answered that he has found different accommodations. She then told us if we don’t like it there were can get off of her property immediately and never come back! I was shocked! Her comment was so uncalled for! We kind of just laughed it off and told her she wouldn’t EVER need to worry about any of us returning. I can’t believe this place isn’t condemned.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I dislike the whole property i walked in to a room with bed bugs
- Verified traveler (2/5): - THE STAFF WAS THE WORST! AMANDA WAS MORE INTERESTED IN PLAYING WITH HER CELL PHONE AND ACTED IF YOU WERE BOTHERING HER WHEN YOU ASKED HER SOMETHING.
WHEN I TOLD THE MANAGER WHAT WAS GOING ON; HE SAID IF I DIDN'T LKE IT JUST LEAVE I HAVE STAYED IN HOTELS ALL OVER THIS COUNTRY; THE IS THE WORST!!!!!!! YOUR COMPANY SHOULD TAKE THEM OFF YOUR LIST
- Leah (2/5): - This was by far the dirtiest motel I have ever stayed in. Thankfully the beds had plastic sheets, its better waking up sweating than bed bugs. It blows my mind that others would find it even remotely acceptable. Red roofs are the same price and you wont have to keep your shoes on.
- 779beccab (4/5): No, no, no. - No coffee in room, no microwave, no filling your cooler with ice, no hangers for the clothing rack, no smoke alarm, none of your regular conveniences. Outlets are very few, only one light and one lamp right below it in the room. Very basic. One night, maybe, two, NO!
- acsmsp (2/5): GROSS GROSS GROSS - This has been the grossest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room really reminded me of a frat house, it was that beat up. We paid $70 for a nights stay and really they should only be charging no more than $40 for these rooms. The carpet was soiled, bathroom tiles were old, bathroom countertop was sagging and supported by a 2x4, walls were in tough shape, etc. I wouldn’t walk on the floors barefoot nor was I comfortable even sitting on the bed spread or taking a shower. Fortunately the sheets appeared clean. The mattresses also need upgrading. I won’t stay in a Knights Inn again. Also very slow WiFi.
- Richard (6/5): - Hotel was in need of a physical upgrade as it is an older motel. Rooms are ok but just barely and staff was busy trying to run facility that included a laundromat.
- Mike (6/5): - Perfectly adequate for a stopover en route to Adirondack state park. Absolutely nothing fancy, but clean and in decent condition.
- Penny (2/5): Scary and rundown - We were travelling on motorbikes and when we got there, it looked like it was a homeless shelter. We were nervous about where we could park our bikes safely. Many people obviously living there. We got a second floor room with an outside stairway near it, and everyone used the steps to congregate on and smoke at all hours. The room door had only one lock and the chain lock had been broke off. We used a chair up against it all night. The room was very grungy and old, but the bed sheets were clean. Holes inside bathroom walls and ceiling were stuffed with tissues. Would not return there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean. I will say that.
I was required to stay in the area due to my vehicle being broken down.
The 3rd day i would have thought they'd give me even a small break on the price - nope - instead, I, as a 55 year old man was told a life lesson by the greedy owner and charged full price.
The place is loaded with younger people whom have zero clue about manners and noise consideration.
Now let me say that Im no prude either iI stay awake very late 1am or longer, most nites.
The walls are thin and you can hear - well - everything without getting to details.
Its a truly mediocre experience from bath towels that are expressly too small to a greedy Eastern Indian owner who gouges her overly priced rooms.
If you can stay elsewhere - I would highly suggest you do.
- Scott (8/5): Quick in-and-out. Good breakfast (not free) nearby - No breakfast, but there was an affordable breakfast counter next door that was WAY better than the pathetic breakfasts most motels serve. Staff were friendly and available, even at 2am.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The shower was hardly lukewarm. This was at 5:30 in the morning when we were the only ones using the shower. A major disappointment.
- M (4/5): - A lot of live in geust! Holes in thecwall, stained ceiling tiles, unpainted trim on the doors, no peep hole on the door.
- Linda (2/5): Skip this place ! - Horrible experience! The bed was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, felt as though it was two twin BOX SPRING mattresses shoved together without a top mattress; I had to stay on one side of it, due to VERY HARD center board ! Bugs in bathroom window sill . Never again,, reviews posted that I CHECKED on to consider using this facility were facility VERY MISLEADING !!!!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They overbooked us when we had a non refundable reservation so we had to scramble for a hotel room at the last minute and were unable to stay with our family who had booked the same hotel after us. They did assist us in finding another hotel but this wasted time for our vacation and we had to separate from our family. Did not end up staying here.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Run down motel, curtains did not close well. Truck sat idling in front of room with lights glaring into room for an hour late at night.
- 730shaunf (2/5): Bad smell. Poor working conditions. Next to the highway. - Poor value for $. Bad smell. Poor working conditions. Next to the highway. This place was worth $20/night. I regret staying there. The smell lingered in my nose for a long time - I suspect the "smoke free" room was mildew + previously smoked in covered with mega room deodorizer
- mflalbright (2/5): This place should be condemned and imploded!! - OMG - where to start! This place is and always has been a hell hole. Unfortunately the other folks in the group would not listen to me months before when there were still rooms available in much better quality facilities. No working phone, mold, mildew everywhere, queen size mattress on a king size frame (I kept banging my leg on it). I have over 100 photos of the filth in our room. If I ever figure out which health department covers this facilty, I will send them all the pictures I have and strongly suggest a thorough inspection.
- marcusp828 (2/5): Worst Hotel/Management Ever! - Traveled from Florida to Amersterdam for work on a reservation. The manager assured me the room was clean and bugless, though the price was cheap. The assured room she gave me looked like a "Hook-up" room from the 1920's and it had a mildew stench! She got an attitude when I complained.-Come to find out, she was stereotyping tenants by color, age, kids, cars, clothes, looks, etc.-It took a week before she swapped me. I asked the maid did she change the bed spread, a lot of hotels don't, she said no and was afraid to ask the manager west indian lady. So I paid the maid to do it, that crazy manager lady found out. So, she threatened to kick me out if I did it again. After that, she kept saying threatening and provoking comments every time she saw me. I couldn't take it anymore and started speaking up. When it was time to pay my weekly rate, she acted like my room had been reserved and she was booked after I stayed there 3 weeks.... The only reason I put up with her was because the only 2 decent hotels in Amesterdam stayed booked up, switching gave me over an hours commute and that manager knew that! And, thats the only reason people put up with her iron-fist-management! As a Solar Electrician there to improve the area, I was appalled. I notified Whyndam and Knights Inn Corporate. Nothing was done....
- mapperky (4/5): Needs maintenance and better cleaning - Staff were very kind, professional and welcoming, really stuck out to me, but the prices were still high for the quality of the room. Towels were stained (brown, I wont ask from what), the shower knob had a leak, so very hot water leaked out of it, getting the knob too hot to touch with my bare hand. WIFI was really slow and just didn't work most the time, no in room microwave. Everything else was pretty fine, but nothing above average. If it were cheaper it wouldn't be the worst, but I've gotten better motels for less. If they just made sure everything was clean, fixed the WIFI and anything else that might be broken, and adjusted the prices, this could be a really good hotel. One of my favorite things was that there was a nice cafe and convenience store / gas station right in the parking lot. Great place to get breakfast for cheap. Nonetheless, hotel itself needs some maintenance.
- 189rdw (4/5): The price was right - Basically a truck stop motel. Room was clean but a little shabby. Discounted price was reasonable, but when I asked about staying a second night, the rate they gave me was more than the room was worth.
- 143adrianl (4/5): ONE NIGHT STAND - No coat rack for any shirts, old style air conditioner, 1/2 " space under front door. Seemed surprised i wanted a room overnight! Floor was clean though, changed from carpet to fake wood. Those I spoke to, although heresay said it was a drug slae motel?
- kenbagley (4/5): I liked the professional Staff - Was impressed with both the Manager and night supervisor. Polite, quickly attentive & highly helpfull. Internet # 1 failed to connect and their Number 2 was intermittent. Had lighting issues and they were halpfull to get most of the lighting turned on.
They have an awesome laundry on premises and great for traveling families.
Extremely convenient to everything and even located next to convenience store that came in handy late in evening and morning!.
