Guest Reviews
- Rahul (4/5): - Misinformation about the stay, long waiting time to respond, and no basic amenities. Too much pet hair and a very bad experience.
- Jojo (4/5): - The property was under quarantine and I didn’t stay here!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place! Quiet and relaxing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our room was very nice . Clean, comfortable bed, quiet. some Reno’s are incomplete and common areas were quite dirty. House needs some upkeep work done. Having said that , we would stay there again.
- Richard (8/5): 2018 one night - Nice place, friendly owner, nice neighborhood. Clean & well appointed
- WT (4/5): - Price only rooms very very small. Hot room. No fam or air conditioning. Bed on casters. Rolled freely not good. No where to put suitcase. Cramped for more than one person
- LandR (4/5): Not what we were expecting! - First of all the Expedia description said “hotel” - Nowhere did it say “air bnb”. Looking at the pictures it did look like a house but no description saying each room had its own bathroom, fridge, microwave. It did NOT say anywhere that there would be two cats and a large dog either! It DID say parking (which was on the street), and it DID say WiFi but we were not informed of the password nor an explanation of anything except the remote candles! The room floor was being cleaned as we entered even though the woman who owned the house knew we were coming a day before! The sheets were wrinkled and the bathroom had a burnt outlet and a toilet rim that was not clean underneath. The floor, the sheets, the cats, and the bathroom issues all made it feel unclean. The ONE good thing was that the bed was a king size (not double like the ad said) and very comfy!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This should not be on your website and a B &B. I am not asking you to share this but you need to check it out if it is on your website. This place is not fit for people to stay in, difficult stating how comfortable as we left after seeing what it was like.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Easy and Convenient - Quick check in, and the bed was amazing. Couldn't find a towel in the morning, but was in a rush and didn't have time to ask the host. Has cats, cats are great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable relaxed clean and enjoyable. - Very nice clean and peaceful atmosphere...........
- Arnie (8/5): Nice stay but not what I expected. - This is a very nice place to stay, Carolyn was welcoming, the room and bed were comfortable, and the location was good for our itinerary. I didn't mind returning the cat that bolted when I opened the door or shooing the cats from our room. My only disappointment was that the description of the property and room amenities seemed to be intentionally misleading. I would not have booked this room had I known it was a shared bathroom, the description led me to believe it has it's own. This is a home in a residential community where the upstairs bedrooms are used for hotel guests. We have done that before through other sites and I don't mind it because I'm careful to choose a room with it's own bathroom. As long as one is aware of the conditions, I would recommend this place to others. This place deserves it's good ratings as long as they update the room description.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Great Choice for My 8 Day Stay in YYC - The proprietor was very nice, and it was great to have access to a kitchen while I was visiting Calgary. I was relying on the Calgary transit system while I was there, and it was handy to a bus stop and the Bridlewood/Somerset station of the C-train line, so it was easy to get around town and to the downtown attractions and Stampede Park even from a location in the far south of the city. If people do not like animals (cats/dogs) then they should not pick this lodging option, but otherwise, I would highly recommend it. It was adequate for the needs of my extended stay and was a really good value.
- Micah (10/5): - Carolyn was a wonderful host! She welcomed us and our puppy and made us feel right at home. Her dogs and cats are very friendly, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the whole atmosphere exceeds anything a chain hotel could offer. Thanks for having us!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location was perfect for the event I was attending - If anyone is attending Spruce Meadows or local horse event, this is a perfect place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Simply the best - I was in town recently for a week on business. Found this to be a very clean and well looked after accommodation. The beds give an incredible sleep. I will be back.
- Brenda (4/5): Not what I expected - This wasn't horrible but it was not good. The hostess left a booklet in the room with basic instructions and that was the only interaction we had with her outside the pre stay texts.
The bed was very comfortable as promised but through her booklet I felt she really wanted to sell me one.
There were no towels in our room but I was able to snag a couple from the rack in the hallway. It wasn't really clear that I should do that but I needed them.
The worst part, though, was that I wasn't aware that we would be sharing the bathroom with the room next door. It wasn't a problem as the other room seemed to be unoccupied anyway, but I wouldn't have booked it had I known beforehand.
The last night we were there we were unable to get in but luckily someone else who was staying there came along and showed us the 'trick' to open the door.
I knew that this was not a hotel and I was not expecting to be catered to but it seemed unprofessional at best.
Oh yes! The window was nailed shut and the refrigerator in the room was not working.
- Jocelyn (4/5): Terrible! - Where to start? No toilet paper in bathroom, multiple hairs in tub/shower, filthy floors throughout house, unusable microwave, bugs on my bed, and next to zero hot water pressure - I was lucky to wash my face and brush teeth. Also woke to a freezing room with no extra bedding. Unsuitable for a stay.
- Kathy (8/5): Solo stay - It was great for me as a solo stay. Close to Spruce Meadows and not far from other amenities. Nice little corner store just down the street. I checked in late and left early and arrived back late every night so I did not see anyone except for the third nite. I stayed a total of 5 nights.
- Bob (6/5): - This place needs a lot of maintenance. Pet hair all over, dog urine in livingroom, light bulbs burnt out, extension mirror almost pulled out of the wall, etc.
- Verified traveler (2/5): ... - When we arrive the room was smelly and the bed was nicely fixed but it looks like the beddings were not changed for new user as compared to the other room beside it. That is why we decided to sleep in the car.
