Ellie (2/5): - We stayed at Big Cypress Lodge during our trip to America and, unfortunately, it was by far the worst service we experienced anywhere on our travels. Considering we paid around $300 per room for one night, with two rooms booked, we expected a much higher standard of service and hospitality. When we arrived, neither room was ready. We were told to leave and come back in half an hour. After returning, we then had to wait another half an hour before the rooms were finally available. The reception staff throughout this process were rude, dismissive, and not at all helpful. Once we finally got into our rooms, although the rooms themselves were lovely, the cleanliness was unacceptable. I had to clean the bath myself because it was covered in other people’s hair. We also booked dinner at the Lookout restaurant, which was equally disappointing. We waited an extremely long time for drinks, only to be told that none of the wines listed on the menu were actually available. Staff were carting rubbish through the restaurant while guests were dining, which completely ruined the atmosphere. My food arrived cold and had to be replaced. We were never offered dessert or asked whether we wanted anything further. The poor service continued in the shop, where the staff were again unfriendly and unhelpful. As British travellers, we have received exceptional service almost everywhere else we have visited in America, which made this experience stand out even more negatively. The hotel itself may be impressive to look at, but the level of customer service throughout our stay was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what you would expect for the price paid.

Pat attention to when you can check in… and keep in mind you have to pay to park there for the hotel stay. Plus the incceditial fee. Granted you can get the $ back… but it is an up front cost that needs to be mentioned!

From the moment we pulled in the valet was extremely nice, the luggage cart worker so nice, front desk lady so friendly, and then kept getting better and better. The bartender in the den was great, the morning waitress at walhbergers was outstanding, every worker through out the hotel and bass pro was above and beyond! Everything was perfect!

We stayed in a standard room with 2 beds and it was amazing and more like a suite you would have in any other hotel. It was very clean, expensive but well worth every penny! The beds were comfy and the bathroom had fantastic shower and jetted tub. My kids loved everything! The only thing I can say about the room I was not happy about was the bathroom didn’t have enough light over the sink for putting on makeup or enough light in the toilet area.

Il faut se rendre dans un espace restaurant qui se trouve dans le magasin Bass Pro Shop, les pts dej proposés sont chers et il n’y a pas de choix qui correspondent aux standards internationaux. C’est dommage. Un petit dej servi au bar de l’hôtel aurait été top !

The only other thing was I was surprised the stay didn't include breakfast, but that was my mistake for assuming. Being lied to about the valet charge. Didn't use valet and was charged for it but told at check-in that it was included as complimentary whether we use it or not.

Susanne (1/5): Never go back. - Place is well overpriced. As far as cleanliness bathroom had previous stays garbage on floor. There was also a balloon left in room. Never in my life did I see a place charge twenty dollars a day for parking. When I brought to their attention showing their website which states valet parking is included, hotel refused to honor it. Even though it was in black and white in their website. Everything is false advertising. Their bowling they have on their website advertising an aquarium overhead. No aquarium. Just fake fish hanging from the wall. Their shops do not have stock yet advertise they are a huge Bass Pro Shop. We ended up getting everything in stock in a bass pro fifteen minutes away. Never go back. False advertising. Charge twenty dollars a day for parking which is outside parking. Totally unacceptable.

Fireplace, leather chair with ottoman, soaking tub and bathrobes provided great ambiance. Was like staying in a cabin with all modern amenities and some extra special touches. Loved the stained glass bar window, framed photos from history archives and wood accents! Took us a bit to locate the fireplace switch.

When I asked a simple question about visiting the terrace, I was met with a nasty attitude rather than helpful service. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected professional and courteous assistance. This interaction significantly detracted from my otherwise pleasant visit and I hope the management will address training with their front desk team.
cathiw107 (6/5): Doesn’t live up to the hype - We liked the location near the new Grind City Amp. It was well-staffed and the property felt secure. Our room was nice, but it was in a dark corner of the hotel with a view of the underside of the outdoor stairs. The hallways are so dim it’s hard to find your room and to see where the key card goes. Our dinner at Wahlburgers was underwhelming. Finally, the free hotel shuttle we had planned to use was cancelled late in the day. The experience did not live up to the hype.

Derrick (8/5): Great stay other than the noise at 2AM Saturday morning. I have a recording of the noise but it won’t let me put it on h - The location and the amenities available. Restraints available. Shopping. It says the rooms are sound proof. But not. At 2:00AM. the neighbors in 324 had their tvs volume as loud as it would go seems like. Kids were noisy. Sounded like they were building a house. I lost a couple hours sleep before they finally quieted down. I was actually fixing to call the front desk bout the time they did. It was that bad. I had a 6.5 hour drive home the next day so I really needed that sleep.

Annie (10/5): Fantastic, kid friendly stay! - Clean, smelled great and overall super nice. I love that you could shop, eat, bowl, and see the skyline all in one place. Kids loved the scavenger hunt and it entertained them for a while. It felt super safe, as well. They had bingo which was super cool too. The rooms were quiet, no car noise or anything. Just loved everything about it. We play volleyball in Memphis every year so we will be back. Nothing I didn’t like.

EMMA (3/5): Don't spend the money here, stay at Peabody's - An experience in Americana...hunting fishing outdoors loved looking around the pro bass shop Everything was shut, the Lodge restaurant and sky ride for repairs, the mississippi terrace for private functions...so basically only a burger bar for the evening, and it is a way out of town. Very disappointing, and not a single offer of anything to compensate!! The staff were like, meh?!

worlde657 (6/5): Beautiful Hotel with Service Gaps - The property is very beautiful, and the complimentary shuttle that runs at scheduled hours from the lodge to downtown is a nice touch. During our visit, we chose to celebrate a birthday at the property since it positions itself as a 5-star hotel. We requested a quiet room, Tony assigned us an adjoining room. Unfortunately, we later experienced noise from the neighboring room and had to call the front desk after 10:30 pm. Tony was very cooperative and addressed the issue promptly, which we appreciated. We were also unable to use the observation lookout because the elevator was not working. Since we stayed only one night and had an early checkout, we never had the chance to access it. Additionally, the room was missing soap, and the shower gel dispenser had less than half a bottle and had not been refilled. For a hotel of this caliber, that was disappointing. I had to go down to the front desk to request these basic amenities. The Wi-Fi also did not work for about half the night. I really wanted to give this property five stars because it is beautiful and has great potential. However, considering we paid the full price, having to ask for basic items like soap and shower gel, dealing with non-working Wi-Fi, and not being able to access the observation deck due to a broken elevator was quite disappointing for a 5-star hotel. That said, Tony at the front desk was excellent—very professional, helpful, and thorough in explaining everything. His service was a highlight of our stay.

Elizabeth (9/5): We had an excellent stay at the most u unique place and my teenager loved it. - Very unique! I loved the attention to detail with the theme. The Den for guests was the best part. The lights in the store never dimmed- I felt they could have at least turned off the neon lights.
Monika (9/5): - Die Einrichtung war außergewöhnlich und alles perfekt von der Deko bis zur Ausstattung alles bestens. Der Preis für eine Übernachtung ist allerdings auch nicht ohne !! Dafür hätte es mehr zusätzliche Leistungen geben müssen. Frühstück, Getränke auf dem Zimmer, außer Wasser und den üblichen Kaffee gab es leider nichts. Der Blick vom Balkon aus,ging leider nur in die Geschäftsräume, Ladeninnere.

Food items we ordered didn't get provided, we had to ask where's the appetizer we ordered after our main food arrived. Quality of food not good and over priced. Ran out of every mixed drink we wanted so settled for water which was a big disappointment. Quality of food. No help with luggage to room. No signage indicating where to check in at outside. Valet very laxadaisical. Need to stay open later on Sunday since we can't check in until 4pm.

444Momma (10/5): Fun for the final night of spring break! - This wasn't well planned...at all. We drove to Florida from STL over spring break...and my husband and son wanted to stop at the Bass Pro Pyramid...and they thought it was in Nashville...lol. So shortly outside of Nashville...I looked up the address...and told them it's actually in Memphis...and it's a hotel! We made plans to stay here on the way back instead, and were able to book a hotel through our credit card rewards program. Pros: Check in was easy, valet on duty even though we arrived late, room was large and clean. We had an interior view with porch overlooking the store...and it was so cool. We arrived around 10pm and departed around 11 am. We did a quick trip through the store before finishing our road trip. We didn't want to wait in line to go to the top elevator viewing deck and didn't eat at any of the restaurants. My husband and I did enjoy the free coffee in the morning. It was fun to sit in the rocking chairs and watch the store open. I was really surprised that there isn't more publicity around a very cool hotel. We live in St Louis which is only 4 hours away by car...and had no idea this was a hotel. My husband and teen son both knew there was a bass pro pyramid in TN somewhere, but both thought it was in Nashville (that was REALLY FUNNY!). Cons: There isn't a restaurant in the hotel or room service open late (we arrived around 10pm and everything was closed). I looked up the hours for food before arriving, and we were aware things would be closed. However...there aren't may things close by that are open past 9pm..so plan ahead. Overall we had a great stay, and I am surprised no one really knows about this in St Louis. It was a great way to end spring break!

Breakfast buffet option was very nice. The second elevator was out of commission. Making wait times long especially since there isn’t an “exclusive” guest like when making your way back down the observation deck.

Timothy (10/5): Enjoyable, once in a lifetime, a pleasure. - The property was really tidy and well looked after, the rooms were very tidy and the organisation and cleanliness were top tier. The quality of products in and around the room were also a very nice touch. The food service provided at the “lookout” restaurant was very poor, the waiters people skills, time management & service skills were poor to say the least. We were given our main entree’s prior to being served our appetisers, and the waiters speaking / communication skills were very poor. Additionally the gentleman whom checked us in “Trez” had poor communication skills as he was very quiet and misinformed us of our check in time which resulted in a delay during Checkin for ourselves.

JohnStorrie (10/5): Welcome to Paradise - We were originally supposed to stay here in March of 2025 but those plans had to be cancelled. We made it back this year in March 2026 and we were so glad we did. I booked the king Treehouse suite, and it was everything the videos made it out to be. The balcony overlooking the Bass Pro Shop was amazing! Very spacious, our two wiener dogs Scooby and Willy loved the view from up there and we ate dinner out there twice. People watching from the balcony was very fun and at night, after the store had closed and everyone had left, it was fun trying to spot a worker after hours sweeping the floor or stalking a shelf. It was a little like Where’s Waldo. And speaking of our two wiener dogs Scooby and Willy, they were hit of the place. All of the receptionists at the hotel lobby made a mad fuss over them and they even remembered their names throughout our entire stay. They each received their very own doggy snack bags and bandanas. We ate lunch at wahlburgers on their outdoor patio where we were able to take Scooby and Willy with us and even when we ate dinner at the lookout, they allowed us to take them with us in their strollers. We choose valet parking and it was so worth it. They helped get our luggage to and from our room on check in and check out and on check out, during the thunderstorm, having the valet bring our truck to us was very nice. I would definitely stay here again, maybe next time with a larger group.
towanda (3/5): Worst anniversary ever. - Do not get room # 350. Bed hard and lumpy open wires hanging from ceiling vent and no jacuzzi tub. This was my anniversary and the vibe was ruined. Go look at your room before paying. Staff was not very accommodating when informed what I thought I reserved. They stated it is at least a jetted tub. I stated for only one person not two. Horrible customer service. Maybe they were having a bad day, they did not uphold a good image for this location.

We really did not have to venture off the property to find things to do. The food was quite expensive for the type of foods we had at both Wahlburger Wild and The Lookout restaurant. The food was just okay.
