Guest Reviews
- Rhonda (4/5): I got what I paid for. Cheap. - The desk person was nice. I forgot my kindle and was able to get it back when I called and picked up. The room was older and smelled stale. There was no plug- in in the bathroom. So no place to Curl my hair. The towels were stained. Maybe need bleached.
- Phillip (10/5): -
- Trevor (7/5): -
- Angelà (10/5): - It was clean. The staff is very friendly. We stay there when we come to town at least once a year.
- Tapscott (6/5): It was a alright. - No breakfast at this location. Property could stand upgrades.
- Gamez (10/5): - Room was very clean and spacious. Location was perfect for us.
- John (7/5): Great for the price! - Nice get away from the rat race. Very quiet area. The beds were really comfortable. Ice Machine was on the fritz.
- Lingenfelter (1/5): Bad -
- Bobby (4/5): - We stayed for 5 nights and paid 570 . They say they offer breakfast and they do not. They charged us 20$ extra per animal per night and our dogs didn’t even stay in the room with us they stayed In the dog box in the vehicle. This fee was not disclosed in the price before booking. We will not be booking here again..
- mark (6/5): - Two star, but you get what you pay for. Good value.
- Amanda (2/5): - Beware, Beware, Beware!!!! We booked a standard non smoking queen online for 2 nights. Upon arrival I was given the keys and once I opened the room door we were hit with a strong mildew smell. The room was very unclean, with stains on the carpets, dirt on the counters, the screen on the heater was broken with stuff stuffed into it and when turned on the entire room filled with the smell of cigarette smoke. The smoke detector had been removed and wired were hanging down from the ceiling. The shower had black mold all over it. We reached out to Expedia to find out what our options were and were told that the property was willing to upgrade us to another room with a king size bed. We immediately checked out and found another hotel.
- Jenna (8/5): - Very quiet and right down the road from family we were visiting. Very friendly staff.
- Sarah (2/5): Refund my money - I actually need a full refund and my points refunded there was mouse droppings under our pillow and on the table than a mouse woke me on the bedside table by my head trying to eat a bag of chips than a mouse was in another bag on the tv table!
There was mold in the bathroom drawer old food in the bed table drawer dirty towels the plug socket in the bathroom didn’t work
The socket in the room area threw sparks at me this litterly was the worse place and needs shut down least of the worries but there was no advertised breakfast
- Roby (8/5): - Room was clean shower was hot. Staff was friendly front parking by the door of your room excellent.
- greg (2/5): no - This was the worst room I have stayed in over 40 years of traveling. Outlets falling out of the wall, the bathroom tile falling off, the shower had holes in the wall that were not finished. The closet was not cleaned with food on the floor. My wife and grandson slept with there cloths on and would not use the shower or the stool.Went for breakfast and they did not have any. An Absolutely bad experience. Also the free wifi did not work.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The room was spacious, but seemed dusty. The linens were dingy and one of the towels had a bad stain on it
- Lesley (8/5): All in all good place to stay - The noise from the roofing An no tv
- Jessica (6/5): - .
- Brandy (3/5): Poor - No hot water!!!
- Catherine (8/5): - Not bad for the money--nobody in office at 8 am Saturday so had to leave keycard in room.
- Anonymous (1/5): hated that it was not CLEAN we had Urine stains on one of the beds, loose hairs everywhere which isn’t too bad but then - open area it was not clean and there are always cars moving at late hours of the night.
- Cary (4/5): Property needs some updates and improvements. - Actually I did not end up staying. After entering the room I noticed several bugs crawling on the ceiling and walls. I looked into bathroom and notice a capsule of some sort on the floor. Also spots appearing that someone with poor aim used the toilet. Thus, using my power of deduction, led me to the conclusion the room had not been cleaned very well. On the plus side though, the desk clerk on duty was very polite and pleasant.
- Kelly (8/5): Business Tri - Nice small town to stay for work. Very quiet, will stay again
- Joan (7/5): Good - This little place held
childhood memories for me some deferred maintenance needs to get caught up
- Bill (2/5): - 30 years outdated dump
- Brad (2/5): - I took one look at the room and immediately turned in my keys and went looking for another hotel. There were stains on the floor and furniture. The decor was from the 1970s. A strong cigarette smoke permeated everything, even though it was a non-smoking room. My wife laughed out loud about the PVC pipe that was being used as a curtain rod. However, to be fair, the staff was courteous and promptly refunded my money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Warm shower never got hot - The bed was comfy and the room clean. Our water was reversed so at first we thought we didnt have hot water to shower. It eventually got warm but was never hot. You can still get smoking rooms here which seems rare in Illinois.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Its a bed - Typical $50 room. Wuddya except
- Catherine (4/5): - The front desk gentleman was polite and accommodating to switching the room twice. I asked for a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. There’s a sign on the door that says it’s smoking. The second room was a disaster. The sheets were clearly stained (not even going to guess with what). The final room was the best of the three but there is an electrical panel in the bathroom with a hole in the bathroom door.
- Olivia (2/5): Would have rather slept in the car - As soon as we walked in seen bug the floors were stained the door had be kicked in some point previously. Disgusting
- hoyt (10/5): - It was good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice front desk greeter. Clean and nice stay for the money.
- Yumi (8/5): Recently renovated - The hotel was recently renovated and clean. Appliances were new too! Since the breakfast area also was being renovated, there was no breakfast service. A bit disappointed. The front was very friendly. Overall, it was excellent for 2 nights of stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was OK
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Newly remodeled rooms. They are trying to update this motel in a nice way.
- Weekender (8/5): - Our stay was very relaxing. Relatively quiet, and nobody bothered us.
- OYO (2/5): - We pull into the hotel and my 18-year-old daughter told me she wasn’t staying there because it look like the Bates Motel.
We got our car keys went to the room and they didn’t work went back to the front office got new car keys went to the room and they didn’t work so the front office person had to let us in our room and told us he would call maintenance to come fix the door for us.
So we went out to dinner came back her car keys still didn’t work so we go to the front desk the guy tells me oh we called maintenance but he can’t be here till tomorrow morning.
I told him that doesn’t do us any good because we’re checking out in the morning.
Come to find out three other rooms that were with our group the car keys didn’t work either.
Very old musty smell cobwebs all over cold very cold.
I went to Walmart and bought two small candles to burn so it would cover up the smell of the most so we could sleep.
As were getting ready to go to bed I go to deadbolt the door and the deadbolt doesn’t work and by this time I was too tired from driving and messing with this motel take care.
Granted it was cheap but not cheap enough to put up with all that we had to put up with.
Even free would’ve been too much.
and then the front desk was ran by a teenager who really didn’t know what he was doing.
I will not stay there again!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a nice place to stay. The staff were friendly and the rooms are good for the price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Their was bed bug stains on the bed sheets, lamps, and shower certain. Dirty towels in the restroom. Was afraid of being bit by the bed bugs. Personnel said it was under renovation because of it.
- Drew (8/5): - If you're looking to save money this place is great! My room was clean... the bed was super comfy... hot shower. I must mention this is a worn-out old hotel though that's slowly getting remodeled. The furniture all has marks and scratches... my bed comforter had a couple cigarette burn holes and minor stains on the sheets.
Outside my room the premises was a bit dingy... I didn't notice it as much checking in at night, but in the morning it had a trailer park vibe going on. Mattresses laying outside and overflowing trashcans. Also, there wasn't any free Wi-Fi.
Anyway, all I needed was a place to sleep and shower so this place worked out great. Perfect for truckers and those like myself traveling for work.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Rooms need updated. Old torn up furniture and heating/AC unit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very affordable, clean place to stay. You can tell there is some remodeling going on, but it didn't affect us.
- Yvonne. Griffith (10/5): - fireworks. Was really nice.
- gary (2/5): red roof Flora ILL. IS NOT FIT TO BE OPEN - Could not get in my room and was never fixed came with a key once and a maintenance man the second time. The heat was off had to turn the heat on and wear my coat till it warmed up. Refrigerator and Microwave were unplugged. room was dirty especially the bathroom which had no heat. When I went to the office for continental breakfast it was closed and no breakfast. Broken glass in the parking lot. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
- Levi (2/5): Flip a quarter - No smoke detectors in the room, the right side of the bed had no power and no working lamp, couldn’t make coffee in the morning because the pot had no drip piece, AC didn’t work-was so hot all night. It’s too high of a price for the quality. Should be $45...
- Yvonne. Griffith (10/5): Family death. - Everything was good. The bed was comfortable. It was good.
- Elizabeth (4/5): No thrills, just a good cold place to sleep - The first night our room was so cold we had to sleep with pants, shirt and a jacket. the heater ran non-stop for 3 days, the 4th morning we woke to no hot water, so we had to move to another room, the condition of that room was so much better, smaller but everything worked. We would stay in that hotel again, but not in the winter!! The people at the desk were friendly, we requested no room service, so we just took our towels to the front desk when we wanted clean ones.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very rude customer service they go in your room and search all your belonging
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fairly dumpy, but only place available - It was a very basic motel, leaning toward dumpy--could have used a fair amount of renovation. The a/c was impossible to reach to even see the knobs, the refrigerator in the room would periodically make a horrible high-pitched screeching noise. I would not recommend walking on the carpet without sandals on, the blankets had cigarette burns on them and who knows what else. But in this tiny town it was the only motel with any rooms available and we were in town to visit my husband's mother who lives in an assisted living place here so we needed to spend a few nights. The owner was nice though and there were two cute cats who live on the property. It served the purpose as a place to sleep for a few nights, but I wouldn't really recommend it.
- Bob (4/5): Red Carpet Inn, Flora Ill. - Room was small and dated as I expected, fairly clean. Appeared to me the management have been trying to update but are not there yet.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Carpet dirty toilet leaked window air unit leaked on carpet
- pigro2 (6/5): Family Friendly - Very old motel but very clean and quiet. will return on next visit. The only complaint was the free breakfast went to main loby at 7AM and was not yet open.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not At All What They Advertise it to be... - My husband & I had business in Flora. I realize that this is a small town but the MOTEL, not a hotel, was not how it is portrayed on some websites. This is a 1950's style motor lodge. Not a multi-story building like they have it portrayed on other sites. It is NOT a non-smoking motel either, unless you consider blasting a room with a citrus odor killer because a smoker stayed there before you. There is NOT a restaurant on-site, nor a Golf-Course, for that matter. When we arrived, we were completely flabbergasted at the "Inn" infront of us. After about 2 hours, we were finally granted a penalty-free cancellation, because we informed the booking agency the the place was grossly misrepresented on their website.
