Guest Reviews
- TOMINAGA (7/5): とても良い - スタッフの方々の対応が良かったです。
朝食が美味しかったです。

- Nam Hoon Kim (9/5): -
- Siti Arbaiyah (6/5): - All facilities/equipment/furnitures very old & out dated
- peter (9/5): - Very helpful staff and very convenient for skiing.
On arrival their own van collected us from the Alpico bus stop and took us back there at departure.
Getting to the snow each day was a 5 minutes trip on the shuttle bus. That bus stop was a 1 minute walk from the hotel's drying room (ski storage).
A good breakfast each day. Easy walk to two great restaurants. Each evening a van takes guests to a convenient store for cheaper food. Nil
- Bryson (10/5): -
- Nattapon (10/5): Best place for me if i want to snowboard at hakuba goryu area. - Everything Nothing
- PEI HSI (9/5): -
- DAY (9/5): - The reception staff were very friendly.
The room is clean
Breakfast is fantastic. The mattress is too saggy and sags too much; it causes back pain when I sleep on it.
- Vicki (10/5): Don’t judge your stay from first impressions. - The staff were fabulous, they couldn’t have done anymore to make our stay enjoyable.
My husband left his phone at a local restaurant and only realised when the restaurant had closed. The hotel staff contacted the restaurant owners and retrieved it for him the next day.
Also it was my daughter’s birthday and the breakfast team sang ‘Happy Birthday’ with all the restaurant guests; which made her day. Initially when we arrived, there are some areas which need repair, like the steps at the front of the property.
- Correa (8/5): -
- Courtney (9/5): Perfect place to stay for a ski vacation! - The staff at the front desk were phenomenal! Very kind and helpful with getting lift tickets and shuttle to/from gear rentals. The community sitting space was right outside of our room, which was great to let kids watch a movie and adults to have a separate space. Breakfast was quick and easy. Highly recommend!
- Tay (9/5): - Friendly staff who went out of their way to help, nice onsen at the basement. 10 mins walk to Escal Plaza
- ho ting (9/5): - The location is excellent, with shuttle bus service available to escal plaza. Staff is nice. I had an injury during the stay, and staff Himu is very caring and offered a lot of help.
- Phillip (9/5): Great location and comfortable with super staff. - Great location, close to very good restaurants and of course the skiing. The shuttle service was impeccable. Himu was exemplary as the mr fixit and font of all knowledge. He made the stay excellent. Smoking area just outside the drying room.
- Brittany (7/5): -
- Joachim (8/5): - Meget sødt og hjælpsomt personale. Hotellet har en gratis bus som kører til og fra liften. Morgenmaden havde et god udvalg.
- Eliza Sammells (9/5): Very kind staff and great location - Very friendly, kind and helpful staff. Fantastic location. Onsen was nice too! Basic accommodation facilities but all you need !
- Graham (10/5): A warm and welcoming accommodation in the Hakuba valley - The staff (special kudos to Himu) provided exceptional service. Our arrival was smooth thanks to pick-up at train station and shuttle to Goryu base for ski rental (Hillside). The ski and boot room at Hotel Montblanc and location right on the bus route made the logistics of managing ski equipment and getting to different mountains easy. Himu was very generous with information and support, the kitchen went out of their way to accommodate a dietary need, and management was very accommodating to the shifting plans of our friends. A wonderful stay!
- Deidre (9/5): Close to Goryu/Hakaba 47 and great service - This hotel was 700m walk to ESCAL plaza at Goryu. This was no problem as there is a shuttle operating from the hotel (right near drying room entrance) in the mornings and evening as well as being dropped to and from the ski hire place where a discount is offered from the hotel. ESCAL plaza has transfers for other mountain areas as well as for hotels in the area. There are also evening shuttles to convenience store and local onsen. The staff are incredibly helpful and make the stay so easy. Discounted lift tickets are also on offer at the hotel. Vending machines are in the hotel. There is a good bar/burger option across the road (Tracks) and other bars next to hotel. Some good Japanese restaurants are also very close (2min walk) to the hotel. Breakfast is generous and varied each day. Service is excellent with no waiting time for a table. Beds are comfortable and rooms were clean albeit quite old and basic. Don't expect a luxury hotel. The rooms are compact and could do with some updating, however we enjoyed being away from the Happo crowds and the service was great.
- YU LING (10/5): 100分 - 早餐超級好吃,而且好豐富可以吃好飽!
溫泉也很舒服很乾淨
- Kezia (10/5): -
- gillian (9/5): Super friendly staff. Really helpful. - Breakfast was eclectic but when you are catering to a broad variety of people that is expected. There was plenty of food and the staff were lovely and welcoming every morning Nothing
- Sara (10/5): -
- Tingting (10/5): - Very convenient had shuttle bus there’s nearby have restaurant the staff was very helpful and friendly , the boss very friendly brought us to the ski resort and pick up us to the bus stop, thank you for hot chocolate and coffee, there have dry room for ski equipment ‘everything was perfect. Everything was fine
- Liz (8/5): -

- ASHER (10/5): -
- Derek (10/5): - Incredible location and staff. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. The bus is easy to take from here and there is a great dry room downstairs for putting your ski gear in. We will come back every year
- Jennifer (10/5): Want to come back! - The staff was extraordinarily helpful. The accommodations were comfortable. It felt community-forward. The breakfast was good. Convenient location for Goryu especially. There was plenty of food nearby. The dryer room for the ski equipment was excellent. Nothing. I will absolutely be staying here again whenever I come back to Hakuba.
- James (9/5): Great stay with outstanding staff. Would recommend! - Very nice stay with excellent customer service. It was great having such helpful staff while visiting somewhere completely new. Helped us with the details of our visit including all transportation and lift ticket needs. Generally a very welcoming and pleasant place to be!
- Grace (10/5): Incredible stay with amazing staff who are willing to go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. - Very cosy property that is is an excellent location. The local Hakuba Goryu ski resort is accessible via a free shuttle bus. The facilities are amazing (drying room for ski/snowboard equipment, onsen and a restaurant). N/A
- Jane (8/5): -
- Petr (6/5): -
- Priscilla (8/5): Great stay with amazing service from the staff! - Cozy lounge and comfortable tatami mats to sleep. The provided breakfast was delicious and convenient.
The staff was super accommodating and never hesitate to answer our questions about Hakuba iteneraries. Everyone working there are very friendly and always available to offer help. Bathroom is a bit small and washing machine is located in a small dark room. After washing the clothes, there happened to still have a sweat smell.
- Benjamin (10/5): - The breakfasts were amazing and I loved the homecooked quality to them, very comforting especially before a day of snowboarding. The staff made us all feel welcomed and went above and beyond in their service. The additional services and connections offered by the hotel was amazing and very helpful for those going during the snow season.
- Amanda (8/5): - Staff were very friendly and so helpful
- Cameron (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean hotel, perfect for a ski holiday with family
- w (7/5): - Fantastic staff, very helpful, couldn't have done any more to make our stay any easier. Provided info and arranged shuttles and even gave us a lift to our next accommodation. Breakfast was good quality and filling. Nightly shuttle to 7/11 was a great service when looking for a cheap meal or snacks. Triple room was very small for the price. With 3 people and 3 bags there wasn't much room left to move
- Bonita (10/5): -
- Jacob (9/5): - Location was great and the staff were fantastic. First place I've ever stayed where all the staff knew my first name. Place is a little dated but everything above made up for it. Price was kind of high in my opinion but in line with the rest of the area
- Kimberly (8/5): -
- Melody (9/5): -
- Mike (9/5): Super verblijf, enorm genoten - Geweldig verblijf. Staf is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamers zijn goed uitgerust en comfortabel. Het ontbijt is goed verzorgd en er zijn genoeg opties voor iedereen. De shuttle naar Hakuba Goryu stopt voor de deur. Ideaal
- Trinity (10/5): Amazing staff, comfortable beds, good breakfast, great location - The staff were some of the most friendly people I have ever met. They were always there when you needed them and would make sure you knew where to go out for dinners or breakfasts.
- 芦澤 (7/5): -
- Brett (10/5): - Staff was extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Location was good for walking to restaurants and accessing Hakuba Goryu for skiing.
- Freya (10/5): - We had a fabulous stay, great location near bars and restaurants, the staff were so accommodating and helpful. Anis was a fabulous host and made everything easy.
- Sean (7/5): -
- Amy (10/5): - The staff were incredibly friendly and truly went above and beyond, especially Anis. When one of our family members was injured while skiing, the team was so kind and attentive, making sure our son was comfortable and helping us get around town with the shuttle. Their care made a stressful situation much easier for our family.
Breakfast was delicious with a great variety each morning, and the accommodation itself was humble but very cozy and welcoming. Great restaurant options nearby. We would absolutely stay here again.
- Juyu (9/5): Each employees and boss are so nice. Boss drive us to restaurant and bus station. - Breakfast is so good. We can eat different breakfast everyday. Hotel location is good, we can take shuttle bus to hakuba goryu escal plaza just one station.
- Maya (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): We would happily stay here again. - Great location, located 12 min walk from Goryu Escal with a shuttle bus directly out the front.
Staff were incredibly helpful
- wendysiew (10/5): Very satisfied and will stay again. - The staff and service here were exceptional. It can be tricky to get around the area with heavy snowfall, and we ran into some car problems. The staff and hotel manager went out of their way to get us help. Truly grateful. The daily breakfast was delicious and just what anyone would need before a day out on the slopes. Location is also unbeatable - close to Goryu and most of other Hakuba lifts. Bars/ restaurants just mins away by walking. Other pluses include (1) a dry room for equipment, and return pick up by rental companies (2) Shuttle (3) Lift passes available at the hotel (4) English speaking staff Nothing at all. This 2-star accommodation is priced competitively and outperforms by offering everything you need.
- Samarendra (8/5): It was a nice first time experience and as beginners we took the right decision to focus on Goryu, but will opt for Happ - Staff were friendly and helped arrange everything
Pick up service came in handy
Proximity to Goryu Very thin walls… you can hear footsteps of people from upper floors / neighbouring room.
Consider buying season pass in advance (if you plan to ski for a few days) than buying daily pass for ski lifts from the hotel. As beginners we didn’t use the lift on day 1, but had to buy again for day 2 - this is the hotel rule. However, we later understood that the season pass is sold as daily pass by hotels. As first timers we weren’t aware , but perhaps more regular folks would be aware that this is how hotels operate.
- Datin Paduka Siti Muna (9/5): -
- Kim Hewitt (10/5): Extremely hospitable hotel with all the amenities you need for your stay in the snow - The staff were fantastic and Annis went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed and more. The hotel offer discounted lift tickets and ski hire and will transport you to most locations and pick you up and drop you off when you are arriving and leaving. Nothing.
- Harvey (8/5): -
- sandra (10/5): -
- Liz (9/5): - Anis the house co ordinator was exceptional. Helping us with everything from trips to 711 shuttle buses and with general advise on attractions. She made our stay enjoyable The uncomfortable sleeping arrangements zap
- Dyan (8/5): Family of 4 stayed 5 nights in Dec. Location 2min drive to Goryu. Excellent service by the staff especially Anis who was - Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly
Onsen was relaxing after a day of skiing Rooms too small not enough space to open luggages. Also no place to sit other than on the beds. Shared living area for the entire hotel can only sit 4 persons.
- Kok-Sing Tang (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay here! Anis and Yasuko's service is excellent--pick ups and drop offs, ferrying us to the ski rental shop to choose our gear, reminding us about important matters. The hotel's breakfast is plentiful and excellent. The staff at this hotel are so warm and friendly. The location is great too!
- Arkan (10/5): - The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They picked us up from the train station and took us to 7-11 whenever we wanted. Helped us with the ski pass as it was cheaper with them. As well as the ski rental. This place is the best place to stay which is close to the ski place area. It’s cheap affordable and worth it. Highly recommend it . Nothing
- Ada (10/5): Their service is beyond our expectations and value for money. - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Mont Blanc in Hakuba Goryu, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were absolutely wonderful—always friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Anis, who spoke excellent English and went above and beyond to help us with many of our questions and travel needs. Her kindness and support truly made a difference in our experience.
The hotel also offered chauffeur services by Sakura San which was a huge bonus. Being driven to various locations around Goryu made getting around easy and stress-free, especially after a long day on the mountain.
The location is fantastic, very close to the ski mountains and extremely accessible to a variety of food spots and ski rental shops. Everything we needed was just a short walk or quick ride away.
Our accommodation was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained, making it a great place to relax after a day of skiing. Overall, Hotel Mont Blanc delivered excellent service, convenience, and comfort. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hakuba Goryu! No
- Jack (8/5): We enjoy our stay with the hotel and would recommend it - We had very positive experiences with this hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The bathroom was equally clean. The hotel also provided free western style breakfast, which was tasty. The staff were very considerate and friendly. The hotel also provided free shuttle to the ski resort and nearby 7/11 , also added convenience to our staying.
- Levit (9/5): Superb -
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely everything. This beautifully charming property exceeded all of our expectations. We are a family of 4 and this was our first experience of the snow. We will definitely be back. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. That we had to leave. We really wish we spent more time here.
- Joanne (6/5): Pleasant - The location was convenient for the mountain and had a shuttle service. The staff was very accommodating and they did make a reservation for us at a local restaurant. The property definitely needs a facelift, the rooms were very basic, we were a little disappointed when we compared this place to rest of the accommodations we had in Japan. The Onsen was small and had lots of dirt on the bottom, which was not very relaxing after a long day. The breakfast was very westernized and simple.
- Nicole (10/5): Warm, clean and very welcoming. - The staff were so friendly, they welcomed us, helped us up to our room and made sure we knew where we we going. Jun (?) on the front desk even helped us book our transport for the end of our stay. The kitchen staff were always welcoming and happy to say hello and talk about where they snowboard. The breakfast was a variety, but I loved the continental selection. It was a bit of a walk to hire shop, but in hindsight, we would have been better to go to the Plaza and hire from there. So other than that, just getting to the snow, if you don’t have your own transport, you are beholden to the bus timetable. This worked fine for us.
- Arnaud (8/5): good location as bar and restaurant close by, need shuttle but very well organized - Good and Japanese with ski timeframe (before 8:30) vending machine empty after 5 pm
- Apichai (9/5): Amazing staff and location - Amazing staff very helpful and kind, 24/7 onsen
Free shuttle bus, free laundry and amazing Japanese style breakfast in the morning
Very close to the ski resort walking distance Unfortunately the room we was in was very dusty, and the hotel only had 1 male toilet to share amongst many customers which was a hassle.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff and were extremely accommodating with driving us to different resorts each day! Thank you!
- Maria (9/5): But would definitely stay again , comfy and great staff - Loved the staff , very helpful , location was great .And also appreciated that they offered breakfast and dinner The reception area could have been a little tidy.
- Matt (8/5): Very good - Very helpful and friendly staff.
- Jacob (8/5): Great value and everything you need for a snow holiday. - Very cozzie , good size room, good facilities to cater for snow holiday, quiet area of the town, good shuttle services, great staff, Room could do with darker curtains, I like to sleep in on my holidays.
- Desiree (10/5): Amazing hospitality, convenient location, would definitely go back again if I am back in Hakuba - It was really convenient to get to the ski slopes. Everyone was very helpful! The room was spacious and clean. Nothing!
- Susan (7/5): We had wonderful stay, and I loved that Jun was amazing to us, and that made our trip. - JUN, was amazing, such a nice person and always helped us in time of need, he really tried to help anyway he could. They seem to have good system going and staff were lovely. He really went over and above. The Onsen is bonus, and I used that daily. Loved the quilts so comfortable. Rooms are very small, really crowded in family room, and not having a central area, to hang out was bit disappointing, there was small area, but didn't have that cozy feel. The facilities are quite outdated, and lot of clutter. A little pricey for what you get. Breakfast was restrictive, and didn't give you much time, so you had an hour, which I suppose was to get skiiers up. Shuttle service stops at 10.30 no fault of the facility, just how it is, people generally very helpful.
- Toyoshi (9/5): Superb -
- Yuwei (7/5): Good -
- Katsarin (8/5): Very good - good location and service small size room, if you are more than 2 ppl, suggest to prefer japanese style type (more space) should be better
- Shannon (8/5): Very good -
- Jerry (10/5): Awesome !! Would stay at Montblanc hakuba again !! - Jun and Staff very helpful and friendly
- Jerson (7/5): Good -
- Joshua (8/5): Super welcoming hosts and good location - The best thing about this property is definitely all the staffs which made our stay very welcoming. After making the reservation, they provided a lot of relevant information like the pickup service, discounted ski pass and rentals etc. And they provided extra information along the way around the public transportation for getting to the area.
When we arrived, there were staffs fluent in English where they explained everything that we need to know very clearly which made it easy to prepare ourselves for our skiing.
There was free shuttle bus service right outside of the hotel which could take us to the Goryu resort and the drying room to leave our gears was also nice. At the end, they also offered drop off service at our bus stop.
Room was spacious and clean, breakfast also had a bit of variations throughout our 5 days stay at the hotel. The walls between rooms are a bit thin so you might hear noise from your neighbours and people walking outside the corridor, washing machine didn’t look clean so we didn’t want to use it.
- Kwong (9/5): Very pleasant stay with amazing staff, who go out of their way to help. - Amazing hosts, with very friendly reception staff. They really went out of their way to help pick us up and drop us off. Very warm and comfy, cottage feel. The complementary breakfast was unexpected, and surprisingly good. Very much appreciated, thank you! I don't think I'd go the Japanese style room again. It was really too small for 5 people, with no floor space at all, once the beds are in place.
- Zack (9/5): Superb -
- Olivia (10/5): Great ski resort close to the slopes - Great additional services and staff were super friendly. Love that the shuttle bus is directly connected to the hotel from Hakuba and the airport drop off. Also drying room for ski gear is a huge plus! Free breakfast was convenient but times are a bit limited and nothing crazy.
- Kp (10/5): Starting with the breakfast included and finishing with the hot bath each day were highlights of our stay. - The staff are fantastic. Great service and very welcoming.
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brayden (9/5): Superb -
- Anqi (9/5): Superb -
- Ekaterini (7/5): Good - Room too small for 5 people.
- Melvin (10/5): Enjoy the friendly host n great extension of help to move around - Near ski resort Nil
- Jen (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazingly helpful and arranged for a shuttle bus for us. Breakfast was delicious and the location was very convenient.
