Guest Reviews
- R9247MImichaelw (10/5): Best bang for your buck. Clean and spacious. Great family owned and operated. Everything i needed and more. - Family owned and operated, good people. This place had everything I needed and more. Everything was clean and id say you could sleep 2 couples and their kids easily in the 2 huge beds in good amount of space. I slept like a baby in that bed. Nice hot shower with plenty of towels/etc. Nice size tv with plenty of channels to find something you'll enjoy. Well worth every penny. Good size mini fridge and comfy sofa. Well worth the money. Next time I go out that way, I will be back.
- Kevin (8/5): - Asked for non smoking and got non remodeled…bed was comfortable, bathroom was small, good enough to sleep and catch a shower after some dirt races
- JC0l (8/5): Everything worked - If you stay somewhere that gives you a good nights sleep, this will do that. If you want a ton of amenities this place doesn't have that. I needed a place to stay for the night and this place was the lowest price available. There was heat, hot water, a microwave and fridge in the room. on more thing, My room had two rooms with a bed in each.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Price was right, very clean.
Bathroom very tiny. No ice. Not even coffee in the morning.
- Dmyers6868 (10/5): Town and Country - This hotel when i pulled in i was ready to pull right out. Thank goodness i did not. I have paid 179.00 a night for rooms just like the ones ive stayed in at town and country. Not one but two rooms plus bathroom. Did i mention it has a kitchen sink microwave mini fridge w very nice kitchen cabinets as well... Only thing missing is a stove. But again ive paid 179.00 for rooms that had one bed one room no sink except bathroom. Now the beds.. Perfect.. King size in one room i believe full size in other and wooden wardrobe in other room. The bathroom is small but who needs a big bathroom when you have 2 big rooms separated by a door.. Bathroom was small yes, but very nice. In fact the bathroom sink i now want in my home. Lol.. Ive yet to see a hotel/cabin w a tv as big as the tv that is in the one room . however room 2 has no tv so someone could complain about that. But nope not me. Wifi works great.. Several stores, gas stations, family owned restaurants within walking distance.. rooms were very clean and staff were very approachable, helpful, and great all around.. TOWN AND COUNTRY IS BY FAR UNDER RATED.. AND YOU ALL ARE MISSING A GREAT DEAL... NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a nice quiet place to stay. We are local and stayed because our hot water was out at home. We had a small issue with our room and the guy in charge went above and beyond to fix it and was very friendly. The rooms are apt. style with 2 bdrms. This was our 2nd stay here and we will be back in the future. We were very happy with the price & felt safe. It's not 4 star but it's very comfortable and relaxing. Also, they provide Smoking rooms which is hard to find anywhere locally.
- DeerDown (6/5): - No guest laundry. Waited 15 min for a front desk clerk. If you want a quick, easy cheap bed and shower this is the place for you. Worked for what I needed. Stayed here for a hunting trip. I would not stay here with the family. But two hunters in need of a nightly respite and a bed. This works perfect.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Price was good, limited parking, office was dirty, rooms and bathrooms need to be updated, and no place to hang clothes.
- Edward (10/5): - Awesome place. Matt was extremely helpful. Room was beautiful. Will be staying there again when I return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice rooms. Clean and well kept. Reasonably priced (they should probably charge more based on what the others charge in the area).
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The owners where nice. The hotel was cheaper than most around.
- Nikd (2/5): - When we arrived we were told that they ran our card prior to us arriving, and that the card declined. The card declined because the wrong expiration date was entered by the staff member. We asked why she ran the card prior to our arrival and she looked at us like we were stupid. Long story short they said they’d give us a room but reminded us the card declined. We explained it was because of their error. After being reminded numerous times of the declines transaction and explaining it was because they put in the wrong date, we decided to go somewhere else. We had been on the road for 8 hours and just wanted to relax for the next day.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Horrible and scary place. I did not feel safe here. as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, there were men hanging out in the parking lot and with their motel room doors open running in and out. I reserved a non smoking room nd was given a smoking room that smelled awful. the staff was rude and the office was filthy lined with dead bugs on the floor. I paid much more reserving online than I would have in person. the room key didn't work and I had to return to the office three times to try and get it fixed. each time, the staff acted as if it were my fault. I decided not to stay and just went home where I knew I would be safe. I took a huge loss on the money I paid for the room but I slept well knowing I was safe and not there.
- Erika (6/5): Ok stay - Overall was ok service was not good and the room smelled musty but the bed was very comfortablw
- Verified traveler (10/5): A quaint little motel on the side of the highway. - One late evening on my way to West Virginia from Columbus Ohio it got to the point that I was too tired to carry on. So I took a chance with this little motel not knowing what I was going to find. And to my surprise I was rather pleased with my stay, to the point that I was half-tempted to stay for the day and add an extra night.
There was nothing particularly fancy about this place. In ways it was dated and in need of a facelift. However, it was exactly what I would want from a place- it was clean and comfortable.
I reserved a non-smoking room with a king bed and that's what I got. However, also to my surprise, the way this particular room was designed, it had an extra room with either a queen or full (I didn't bother to try it out). So essentially the room was the size of a suite.
The motel is conveniently located right off of the highway, yet has a driveway that places it far enough away from the road that highway traffic isn't bothersome.
Other than a comfortable bed, one of my favorite features of this place was the air conditioning. While most places have a small wall unit that cools or heats the room, this place (at least the room I stayed in) has central air/heat with it's own unit controls by a thermostat on the wall.
If I'm ever back in the area, I'll be looking to stay there again.
- JohnBooher (2/5): Rude absolutely horrible. If you stay here you get what you deserve. - I canceled my reservation with the expectation per policy that they would take one night. They charged me the full amount and a tax charge as well. When I called the lady who answered said please give it 3 days. I waited 9 before calling back. She hung up on me and was extremely rude. I would rather sleep in my car then deal with this person again.
- Cecil (8/5): Nice place to stay - Nice place to stay. Great location. Really comfortable beds. Rooms could be a little cleaner...vents and ceiling....also, should have soap in the bathroom and a dishrag & towel for the kitchen area.
- Cheryl Mefford (8/5): Hotel on the way to Dogwood Pass - I liked this little Hotel they are remodeling and sprucing it up, but for the price you can't beat it no pool but I wasn't looking for those kinds of amenities comfortable, clean and spacious room with king size bed AND separate bedroom with a full size bed people were friendly, I enjoyed my stay
- Rita (2/5): Toilet overflow - We woke up at 2:30am and the toilet was overflowing and the hotel staff would do nothing about it. We called the Police and told them that we could not get the hotel manager to do anything about the room. The officer went into the room and looked at all the water all over the place. He then went into the office and finally got someone to come out and look at our room. We decided to just leave then, we asked for our money back and the employee said that he couldn't give it back to us that his father was the only one able to do that. We were very upset by this and we came home. It was a terrible experience. We would like our money back please!!!!
- stim81 (10/5): Nice motel - King bed in one room with large tv and a full bed in separate room with a door. Has microwave, sink n mini fridge. My only complaint is the small bathroom and short toilet. Very nice other wise. Next door to dollar general.
- Verified traveler (2/5): horrible place. - it was horrible. bad service, room smelled and had holes in walls.
- Ready2GoTravel2 (6/5): South end of town (incorrect on Google Maps) - It is located at the south end of Piketon, next to the dollar store, on the west side of the highway. I had a king-sized bed, a full-sized bed in a separate room (unused), and a bathroom with a tub. There was also a small kitchenette with mini-refrigerator and microwave. The room was clean, but in looking closer, the room had been remodeled in a half-done way. Molding around doors had been replaced with whatever they had on hand--using different shapes, widths and colors. Some was too narrow--there was a strip of bare wall between the door jam and where the wallpaper started.
I must say, the locals do not think much of this motel. I ate supper at a cafe before coming here and several people tried to convince me to try another local motel in "Piketon". I called them, but they had no non-smoking rooms left.
