Guest Reviews
- Chris (10/5): Fantastic location, very quiet and relaxing. - Breathtaking views from the property over the lake and mountains. Great communication with the owners over a late check in and everything you need and more at the property. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Nothing at all. Windy road to the property but worth the drive!!
- Lynette (10/5): - Tanya and Shane were extremely welcoming and helpful. Recommend to anyone Nothing
- Elizabeth (10/5): Brilliant. Wish we could have longer - Beautiful location surrounded by natural beauty and plenty of outdoor activities
- Nadia Saloua (8/5): Parfait pour un séjour de trois jours - L’emplacement Nécessite une amélioration des équipements.
- Michael (9/5): Great little spot on the Queen Charlotte Track - Pristine condition historical building perfectly located at the end of the road, right before it transitions to the Queen Charlotte Track. Good access to the pier, the water, and there is a limited-hours trailer cafe on the property. The place was spotless, spacious, with a large, well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Good parking, with paddle boards and kayaks available - including and especially lifejackets. It's an easy walk across the road to put a kayak or paddle board in. The second bedroom is a cozy converted woodshed with its own entrance. Two bathrooms. More or less midway between Havelock and Picton, about a half hour each way.
- Klaus (9/5): Alles zur besten Zufriedenheit - Super schöne Lage mit toller Aussicht.
- Bettina (10/5): - Tolle Lage, tolle Atmosphäre
- Iona (10/5): Great place to stay at end of Queen Charlotte Track - Very friendly host. Great location. Nothing
- Bene (9/5): -
- Kelsey (9/5): Relaxing get away - Excellent position close to the Queen Charlotte Walk. Very peaceful & beautiful setting with lovely hosts.
- Dan (9/5): A must stay! - Amazing location, facilities, VIEW and price. Shayne & Tania are lovely, they are committed to your best interests.
This was my second stay and I hope to stay again.
I was stoked that both the bioluminescence on the water and gloworms 5 minutes walk up Queen Charlotte track were still as active as ever.
Having the bike wash next door is a massive bonus. Only gripe and it's a very small one, there is some noise from the upstairs dwelling.
- Brighton (8/5): A perfect spot if you are walking the Queen Charlotte track - We chose this property for its proximity to the Queen Charlotte track: it literally at the entrance. The flat is comfortable and has everything one needs to self cater. We enjoyed our BBQ on the small deck, overlooking the water. Our hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the region snd we had appreciated their warning us in advance about buying food. Our bed was large and comfortable, the shower was hot and the room heaters very efficient.
- Nick (10/5): Excellent. Everything lived up to its description. - Excellent location. Property description and reviews 100% accurate.
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Perfect accommodation for enjoying the Queen Charlotte Track, exploring the Marlborough Sounds and indulging in local mu - Amazing location set in fabulous surroundings , well equipped and comfortable. Owners Tanya and Shayne are perfect hosts Nothing
- Warren (9/5): The location, cleanliness, and fantastic views make this a womderful stay - Looking out the big front window at the bay, the boats, the mountains, and the manicured front yard is spectacular. Very well equipped and thoughtful touches. Spotlessly clean. Easy access to the Queen Charlotte Track, the waterfront, and a reasonable drive to surrounding towns and attractions. Room arrangement is OK with large spacious en suite bedroom with the TV and large spacious kitchen/dining area with the fantastic views, but no actual sitting/living area.
- Debbie (10/5): Hope to return - Loved free and easy access to kayaks and associated gear. Also good tips about glowworms and bioluminescence. It was a great place to relax and enjoy nature.
- Hodgson (10/5): Paradise - Beautiful, peaceful, idyllic location right by the water at Queen Charlotte Sound.
We enjoyed walking the last leg of the famous Queen Charlotte track, which was a wonderful, relatively easy track offering superb views. Jumped off the jetty for a swim in the sound and within 2 mins having a hot shower at the apartment.
Tanya and Shayne could not have made us more welcome. They clearly enjoy sharing their piece of paradise, and their enthusiasm is addictive.
Very comfortable bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen, peaceful sleep.
Don't hesitate to book and stay as long as you possibly can. You won't regret it! We've stayed in some gorgeous places in the South Island and this one was our favourite.
Thanks so much, Tanya and Shayne Nothing, it was all perfect, the highlight of our holiday.

I had to leave!
- Pam (10/5): Great place right next to water and queen Charlotte walk. - Out of the way with beautiful surroundings; walk, swim, relax. Take your own food and enjoy the ambiance. Try to prebook water taxi or shuttle as a bit cheaper. However, Picton taxi immediate and driver full of information so not a negative.

Very comfortable Nothing
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, many activities, great walk. Stingrays in the bay. Standard glassfiber bathroom, with fixed showerhead

locally and they were good enough to drop us down to the start point, as we were travelling without a car. the accommodation is clean and comfortable and perfectly located at the start of the Queen Charlotte track and right opposite the jetty, where water taxis stop. highly recommended.
- Tristan (7/5): was great me and my partner want to come back and spend a weekend and explore the area with some good weather - perfect hideaway right next to the beach in a amazing isolated location nothing

- Elaine (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer - Everything outstanding. Wonderful hosts..highest recommendation. Leaving
- Emma (9/5): a little hidden gem - location was fantastic with a beautiful view. the owners Shayne and Tanya were lovely and so welcoming and helpful. if you don’t have supplies, it is remote. Although Tanya and Shayne have some bits and bond to purchase if you are caught short
