Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): - The price was right for a solo male traveler, and the air conditioning was good, A lot of cleanliness work could be taken care of around the property but the staff spent most of the time on their phones rather than making the place look nice
- michaelsontheimer (10/5): Very good small hotel - Right in the center of Vientiane in a quiet side street you find the Day Inn Hotel. It has got beautiful rooms, nice staff, free laundry, a good breakfast, altogether it is very good good value. It also has a driver with a comfortable who speaks speaks English very well.
- nancy (10/5): Kindness and comfort - I love everything about the Day Inn the staff Areias
Family. The location is excellent. Quiet and within easy walking distance of everything g I need. I love the surroundings. There is a garden. Every room has a bathtub-excellent!!
I love the breakfast and the. Coffee is strong and rich.
Storing your stuff there is easy and they are so kind about it.
They are kind about everything g.
The price is very reasonable due to not so many amenities that you don't need or use, anyway.
You have use of the National swimming pool and fitness center, a three mi ire walk away.
I never stay anywhere else.
- Darren (6/5): Good location, clean, nicely furnished room - The hotel staffs were friendly. We love the clean spacious room and bamboo furniture. The hotel provides water dispenser for guests to refill own water bottle, also the shampoo and shower gel were in dispenser, which helps to reduce plastics. The location is great with lots of cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions nearby. The air-conditioning in our room was not functioning well but we did not bother to have them check as it's only a night's stay. There's 1 or 2 mosquitoes in the room. Wifi was weak for our room. Perhaps the hotel is a little old but overall still ok.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- H6842FWbriana (10/5): Quiet Spot - Friendly staff, very nice rooms and quiet rooms make this a perfect spot to spend a few nights. And laundry seems to be done for free. Just leave a tip for the cleaning staff and you will have fresh clean clothing each day
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable for various purpose - The hotel is located in a quiete and convenient place. The facility is not new but well maintained. Breakfast is good and we has several choices.
- nancy (10/5): Love this place! - The best place yo stay in vientiane. Kind staff. Bathtub in room decent breakfast. Good location. Can park your bike easily.
- sarah7897 (6/5): Gorgeous central french building, good breakfast but has mosquitoes - We loved the location central with great restaurants nearby and the hotel normally arranged tuktuks. The breakfast was solid.
As were in a lower floor, there were several mosquitoes and they had to give us mossie killer spray to get rid of it. There was no net. In the end we dropped the temperature on AC down to 18 and it helped to get rid of of the mosquitoes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Martyn (10/5): Great stop in Vientiane - This was an outstanding hotel for the price. Clean excellent service, good shower, large comfortable beds. Great location for restaurants, night market, airport etc. Only negative was that the included in the price breakfast was very poor.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- barrybE5144JS (8/5): Accommodation in Vientiane ...Day Inn - This was a nice little family run Hotel in the centre of the city. Very clean and friendly staff . Highly recommended for all International travellers on a mid budget. The room we had looked onto the garden. TV was good , large bathroom with shower and seperate bath . Aircon good and beds comfortable. . Safety deposit boxes available in reception.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good service, very affordable - This is an excellent choice. The price is very reasonable, the staff is very helpful, the location is good and the hotel even provides pickup service from Wattay.
- andreakM2879HU (6/5): In the center - Nice hotel in the colonial style. All equipment is quite old, but clean. Free wifi, laundry service, nice staff, but english skills missing... Minus is that the hotel is located by the quite loud road.
- azerftgvbhnjik (8/5): Good wifi, good room, good service - Ideally located right next to a phone antenna (which guarantees good wifi) the room was spacious and very comfortable and the staff extremely nice. 45$ is a little steep but it s the way it goes in Vientiane if you need reliable wifi (for Laos that is). Breakfast was not bad.
- julialongpre2005 (8/5): Close to the Mekong River - We were able to bike and walk to the Mekong River and do some shopping with local vendors. The staff were very nice and I enjoyed the big bath tub and continuous English movies on TV. I would recommend this hotel with has breakfast as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- janeazure (10/5): Simple and sophisticated - The history of the building, one time Embassy of India, shows in small ways, the statue of elephant god Ganesh, the old telephone exchange, while the all bamboo furniture adds to the colonial feel of this unassuming hotel. The rooms have good beds and the bathrooms modern and spacious. It may feel a little too quiet for some but for others its an unpretentious haven. Breakfast was good, you can enjoy your coffee, like a colonial era diplomat, while reading a the Bangkok Post or Vientiane News.
- Joshua (8/5): Good central Vientiane hotel - A comfortable, modern hotel in the heart of Vientiane. Not far from most tourist sites. The room itself was big, comfortable, and well put together.
- yoshihiden768 (10/5): The comfortable hotel - Whenever I work in Vientiane, I stay in this hotel. I like cleanness. I'm really satisfied with the room, bathroom and bed sheet. And I enjoy the breakfast. The guests can choose the favorite menu of the rice gruel, grass noodle and the ham eggs & french bread. My favorite steak restaurant, noodle shop, coffeehouse and traditional massage near there. It's so convenient. I want to stay there the next time.
- 199kienn (8/5): Acceptable - Locate in the heart of the city. There are any restaurants nearby. From outside the hotel looks not impressive, a bit boring, like an old Russian house. Room was nice and clean but fridge in my room was noisy. They only provided soap in the bathroom
- Jan-Owe (8/5): Hotel - Good value for money, very clean hotel. Helpful and friendly personell. Good location with restaurants nearby but far enough to be quiet. Breakfast ok but not more. We had a two room suit on ground floor which we were very happy with.
- sebastiank966 (6/5): A bit too relaxed... - Nice old building, previously the Indian Embassy, rooms fine and clean but the staff was just too relaxed.
And you don't want to find a minuscule breakfast and then have to pay extra for a normal, very basic breakfast.
Since I stayed for 3 weeks in a larger room I wanted to have a nice working shower head. Not really asking for too much is it? This message was just not conveyed to the duty manager. When I spoke to him directly still nothing happened.
Once I had put my critique in writing everyone jumped, even too much, but for me that was too late. For my next Vientiane stay I selected a different place - with a wonderful breakfast and real coffee - inclusive.
- TrishO1970 (6/5): Only just 3 stars from me! - I stayed here for business for two days/ nights and as I work for a not for profit we don't stay anywhere flash. They give us a good rate compared to the advertised rate but if I was paying full price personally I don't think it would compare if you do a bit of research. The building is a beautiful old building but it could do with a re-fresh!
My room was large, as was the bathroom, had TV and wifi that worked but in East Asia it is rare that the wifi doesn't - very reliable. And it was clean.
There was no safe, no hairdryer.
The breakfast was simple but very edible.
Where it fell down was the service/ front desk staff. For me they make or break a place. With the exception of a slightly older guy the second day all the staff where a bit sour and when asked for any info seemed like I was putting them out when they were clearly not busy (sitting around surfing the net!). They did always respond but it was clearly an effort. This is really strange as working with the Laos people I find them kind and gentle and caring, so not what I would have expected. Having competent and responsive front desk staff also makes me feel more comfortable as a solo female traveller.
It was close to the central of town (short walk to the fountain and night markets) but they have plenty of local competition so may need to up the anti to stay in the market.
- 352donnak (8/5): Comfortable and conveniently situated at a reasonable price... - This hotel offers all the really important features I look for when traveling for business. The internet connection was very good and consistent and there were a wide variety of English language TV channels to choose from. The air conditioning worked really well and this was important as it was unusually hot and humid while I was there. The room was kept spotlessly clean and was well lit and cozy. The staff were very accommodating and attentive and the breakfast was good with a choice of both local breakfast foods and the standard eggs and bacon style. Service was very fast as well and this is also important when on a tight schedule. The location is good... near enough to the night life to be convenient yet far enough from it to be quiet. Overall the hotel is excellent value for the money and I would certainly stay there again!
- llienred (6/5): Hhhmmmm - Stayed 3 nights in July. Handy location, clean, quiet room, great bathroom (with full bath tub), good WiFi. Really average breakfast. Non committal staff. Wished I had booked the place across the road for half the price.
- 478sallyb (8/5): Clean rooms decent location - Located about 3 blocks from the fountain. Not super close to night market but fine. Rooms very clean and nicely decorated. WiFi works great. Will miss bfast due to early flight so can't comment on that. Overall very nice.
- Fityfoo (10/5): Cool rooms, excellent Wifi - We really liked this hotel, especially the strong, fast wifi and spacious rooms with fun colour combinations, comfy beds and good showers.
Only two things that we didn't like - the $19 charge to wash 3kg of clothes! (we should have used a local street laundry) and the breakfast - only coffee, fruit and orange cordial for free, anything else you have to pay for. Still, it's a good place to stay.
- 2Dawdlers (8/5): Light airy room - We phoned up to make our reservation and confirmed by email, and all was well when we arrived. They let us into the room early after we arrived on the night bus. Our room was very light - it had 2 big windows. One looked out on another wing of the hotel and the other faced the large car park of the big office next door - not scenic, perhaps, but plenty of light, no noise and we weren't overlooked. The bathroom was also very light. The shower was over the bath (but there was no curtain). Modern bathroom fittings, nice cane furniture, good decor and very clean. It was close to shops and restaurants. At 50 dollars a night it was not cheap, but OK value. The only criticism is that it is rather impersonal. Staff are polite but not specially friendly, and no one ever seems to sit in reception or at the tables outside.
- Restless_S0ul (2/5): Their problems became our problems - Despite confirmng our reservation via email and taking a deposit, they did not have a room for us. They did not refund our deposit calling it a booking fee. It made no sense but there we were, looking for a place to stay at night. Zero satisfaction.
- lI0ve2h0liday (8/5): Nice hotel a short walk from the fountain - Stayed here for one night only passing through Vientiane on a wider tour of Laos. Expensive compares to everywhere else we had stay but i guess thats what you pay in a capital city. Room was big and clean with a bath instead of just a shower. Got badly bitten while sleeping I dont know by what my partner was fine. Had trouble getting out early the next morning for a bus as no one was around.
