Guest Reviews
- Samantha (10/5): Magical weekend away - This was the most magical long weekend. So relaxing. Was great to switch off and forget about adulting responsibilities. Highly recommend. Will definitely be going back. The float tank and sauna were amazing. The fire place and spa was fantastic. Craig made you feel like it was our home away from home. Incredible. Loved every moment.
- Perry (10/5): Highly recommended, we’ll be back - Lovely host, Craig was amazing. We felt very welcome the entire time. Pool/cabana area is deluxe! Nothing to say here :)
- Grant (10/5): Suave na Nave (From Portuguese) - We were greeted by a very friendly host, who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The sauna and cold plunge was amazing. Local restaurants are a great feed and within a 20 minute drive. Finishing the evening with a beautiful fire place and hot tub was like a cherry on top. We only stayed for 2 nights. We wish we had more time to relax even more.
- Mitchell (10/5): - Very relaxing and peaceful

- Corine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristopher (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, peaceful retreat in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. No sounds but the wind rustling the trees, gentle sound of the waterfalls and birdsong in the morning. Lovely and toasty warm sitting in front of the real wood fireplace. So close to the charming villages of the Mooloolah Valley on one side and Maleny to Mapleton on the other. Craig and family are beautiful hosts, there for a chat if you're so inclined but otherwise it's just you and your loved one enjoying the peace together. Will definitely be back! K and L.

- Louisa (8/5): A peaceful retreat in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland - My husband Scott, our toy spoodle Coco, and I enjoyed a relaxing stay at Alaya Escape, a tranquil Balinese-inspired boutique accommodation. Set in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, it provided the perfect escape to recharge and explore the surrounding villages of Mooloolah Valley, Maleny, and Montville.
We stayed in the Legian Executive Room, which had a spacious studio layout featuring a spa, fireplace, and a private balcony with lovely views of the gardens and pool. It was a serene spot to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfast provisions were generous, and the location was ideal for discovering the region.
A special thank you to Craig, the welcoming host who was incredibly accommodating and provided great recommendations to enhance our stay. While we didn’t get the chance to use the sauna or floatation tank, we’re looking forward to returning and trying these next time!
If you're after a peaceful getaway with a touch of Balinese charm, Alaya Escape is worth considering.

I was so well cared for, connected to myself and the earth, with a beautiful range of treatments, in an area that filled my soul with peace and calmed my mind 💕💞The float tank will now be a regular in my health principles and natural treatments. Very grounding. All my pain was gone after floating in magnesium 💗Beautiful experience all round.

Marks Massage left me feeling rejuvenated both body and mind, highly recommend the packages especially if you love a sauna or float.
Breakfast hamper was plentiful and brilliant idea as we didn't need to drive to shop. It had all the Lil necessity as butter milk ect cupboard had sugar tea coffee oil the things you don't want to buy extra for a weekend stay.
Our time was so valuable and enjoyable we actually asked to stay on an extra two nights.
The resident bandicoot that came to villa at night was adorable and so was Rex the water dragon...who may be fat now after we had a picnic on one of the beautiful day beds by pool and he joined us.
A very secluded well kept secret. Oasis of bliss.
Can't wait to return. The huntsman from bush lol

Could have been more hanging space for clothes.

- Karen (10/5): Escape to Alaya - Relax and unwind - Craig and Molly from Alaya Escape promise "Relaxing, Reconnecting, Renewing and Recharging" - and they deliver! From the moment you walk through the gates of this Bali on the Sunshine Coast, you can feel yourself begin to unwind. Craig personally came to check that we had settled in, as well as hand-delivering our delicious breakfast hamper.
Our bungalow (Ubud) was clean, comfortable and had everything required to feel like home. A mini 'library' provided a selection of books and DVD's - that's in case it happens to rain I guess...the gardens and outdoor pavilions are too lovely to stay indoors for long.
Magnificent tropical gardens surround the pool and hide pavilions just waiting to be lounged in. Hammocks, daybeds, a library, sound system, water features and help-yourself mini-bar all create the perfect environment for doing absolutely nothing! Or for those who are more energetic, mountain bikes are available.
I liked the extra touches of Craig and Molly's "Favourite Food Experiences" in the local vicinity. We tested a few out and were not disappointed! We didn't try the other services available such as Massage and Sauna, so we'll save that for next time...
I highly recommend Alaya Escape...I definitely will escape there again!
- kreisha (10/5): Beautiful rainforest retreat - This gorgeous retreat is perfect for couples: the rooms are thoughtfully decorated, with a spa bath and gorgeous views. Craig was the most welcoming host and couldn't do enough for us. We'll certainly be back.
- Morgan (10/5): Amazing!!! - My partner and I spent the weekend just passed at Alaya Escape and we had the most amazing time! Craig and his family are very hospitable and made every minute of our stay comfortable! The rooms are absolutely amazing, the environment surrounding the rooms is amazing. Honestly, everything about Alaya is stunning! The thing that was big for us was that we were allowed to take our dog with us which made our day! Thankyou so much for having us and we can't wait to return in the near future! We will be returning 100%!
- Chris and Sally (10/5): To get away from it all
- Perfect place to go to relax disconnect and refresh. Beautiful surroundings and wildlife. A very accomodating and down to earth owner/manager. Excellent breakfast hamper. Such a nice place to stay. We Highly recommend this retreat.
- Stephen (10/5): Ultimate spot to chill - My wife and I spent two days at Alaya, and it was the perfect place to relax and find time to do nothing. The stillness and energy of the surrounds was wonderful. Waking to the gentle sound of the rain on the roof, on the first morning just added to the joy of being able to sit and relax. The temple was a short 20 minute walk away, and this was the perfect adjunct to our stay. Craig and Molly made us feel extremely welcome, and then left us to just revel in the stillness of what they have created.
