Guest Reviews
- Yasmine (10/5): - Todo fue excelente en Hadouta! La ubicación, las instalaciones y los chicos del hotel! Sin dudas volveré!
- Neda (6/5): - The hotel was nice and staff were so kind. What the hotel doesn’t have any shadow they couldn’t provide me any shadow and I had to pay from the airport to the hotel and hotel to the airport.
- Meagan (2/5): - Bedroom smelt like sewerage.
Booked quad room but got double.
Provided 2 towels for 4 people. Requested 2 more towels but request was ignored.
Charged 25usd for a 30 minute ride to the airport (equivalent taxi ride would have cost 1usd).
Recommend staying at Kato Dool.
- Shireen (8/5): It's an authentic experience that we will never forget - The place has a magical vibes.. the rooms were so clean and comfortable..
The breakfast and service could be enhanced.. but the staff were so nice..
It's not a hotel.. it's a Home Only if the place offered a better food options and beverage services.. it could have been perfect..
The village itself is so amazing that it's really shameful not to have it well serviced and enhanced .. it would have been a number one destination..
- Shatha (8/5): Very good - It was very nice and authentic, the staff were very friendly and the property is nice, the location is authentic Nubian village, the morning was very peaceful too. The drive to it at night was a bit tough road
- Mahmoud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (10/5): Fantastic views and helpful staff! - Delicious, enormous breakfast. Fantastic views over the Nile.
Very helpful staff - were always friendly and helpful and were able to quickly arrange some local sightseeing trips at a very reasonable price. Room slightly dirty (bin not emptied and some hair in the shower). Overall OK though and important things like bed felt very clean. Hot water in the shower a little inconsistent.
- Kristina (8/5): smooth - rooms and people,
very calm place
- Catherine (4/5): - Ahmed was very nice ans welcoming. The property was cute and the area around too. The major inconvenient was the A/C was not working well at all, it was probable like 38 degrees in the room.
- Joshua (9/5): staff were so welcoming and food was so delicious - staff were so welcoming and food was so delicious everything was fine
- Ajoke (10/5): - Loved our stay at the this guest house. The owner was very friendly and helpful. the place was clean and comfortable and perfect for a 2 night stay in the area.
- Geraldine (7/5): Good - Nice Nubian Ghest House with a good location (quiet and nice nice view on the Nile). breakfast could be better and missing a real restaurant for enjoying dinner
- Khaled (3/5): the staff was nice and friendly but the rooms did lack in a lot of areas making the cost really not worth it compared to - the location was good and the staff was nice and friendly. the rooms were very stuffy and not cleaned everyday or even every other day. the bathroom was very uncomfortable and not pleasant. one of my rooms had a water heater that wasn’t working so my sons had to take cold showers.
- Elena (5/5): There are better options out there - The location is great, away from the city and right on the Nile. It's easily accessible by boat and car. The room was noisy - at night, you very clearly hear whatever is going on outside or on the balcony of the hotel and in the morning - the kitchen which is next door. The bathroom was separated from the room with a bar door and the hot water never worked. Through a vent in the bathroom ceiling, kitchen smells came into the room. The airport pickup was 50% more expensive than the other hotels' for an unknown reason.
- Karim (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Hamed was very accommodating. The Nubian food and music were outstanding - and authentic. Everyone joined in the dancing. Highly recommend the Hadouta to anyone who wants a comfortable stay and a taste of true Nubian hospitality and culture.
- Lara (8/5): Very good -
- Audrey vaillancourt (10/5): - The hoste was amazing. He gave us a upgrade for our room and the view was perfect:) he was really kind and took care of us. The only thing is we had to pay by cash because no credit machine. But still it was perfect. The next morning we had a nubian breakfast and it was really good
- Noha (10/5): Perfect stay - Amazing stay , friendly and very supportive staff, great food
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The internet never worked. When asked about it the Kassem (the manager) said he would fix it. Then didn't bother and said "the wires not good". When leaving to the airport i was charged 200 egp for the ride. As i got to the airport another customer from the same hotel arrived at the same time. He was charged 150egp. Very displeasing that i was charged more and we both couldve shared the ride from the hotel if the manager would have been kinder.
- Jean (4/5): Beaucoup trop cher !
A éviter.
- Eric (10/5): Nice Hotel - Nice hotel. Ask hotel staff for taxi to town for better price. Water taxi will take you to town,or use auto taxi. Matress was extra firm..
- Eric John (10/5): An Amazing Experience - I can’t say enough what a wonderful place and experience it was staying here. Amazingly warm, kind people and the place is stunningly beautiful. Without question, if you are coming to Aswan, stay here!
- Emily (8/5): - I stayed here for one night. As other reviewers noted this hotel is located outside of the city center and is not convenient to get to. I knew that when I booked I would only be staying for one night and leaving very early in the morning for Abu Simbel so my plan was to have a quiet evening. If you plan to do things in the city or go out then I would not recommend staying here. However, if you want to try something different and plan on having a quiet evening without going out then this place is for you. The staff was friendly. The tea tent was nice to sit in and read while overlooking the Nile. The room was clean and aircon worked great. The bathroom is an Asian style shower with the hand held water hose that is located in same room as toilet. No hair dryer or hand towels so be prepared to bring your own if you need to wash your hair here. Room was sparse but clean. Hotel is located near the Nubian market. I did not go to the market but passed through it in the car on the way to the hotel. I did everything I wanted to do in Aswan before checking into the hotel for the night. I think arranging a car and getting back to the city would be inconvenient so again only plan to stay and stop here after you have seen and done what you want in Aswan city.
- Dena (10/5): - Our hosts provided outstanding assistance booking affordable transportation and tours that were all a very good value. They were especially helpful making certain our taxi drivers gave us fair prices, and negotiated directly with camel drivers at the Nubian tombs. Breakfasts and refreshments in the tent were great to enjoy with a marvelous Nile River view.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Traditional Nubian location in a village in Aswan showcasing local crafts and food. Camel rides and traditional music featured every evening in the restaurants.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Two star just because of the cute rustic decor otherwise I would give it one star. Service is awful, rooms are not cleaned we stayed 3 nights ( a group of 7 in 3 rooms) they never made the beds or replaced towels or sweeped. We had 3 people in one room and they could not accommodate us with placing an extra bed or mattress we had to join two beds. Which made it uncomfortable. Service again I stress is awful if you need anything, like a towel or toilet paper etc the reception employees are rarely there. The hotel has an echo you will hear all the guests entering or on the stairs. Breakfast was ok but if there are other guests eating at the same time you will leave hungry. Warm water is non existent I am not talking about just our room which was supposed to be the best ( the one with the river view). Oh and prepare to go up stairs. And in Nubia bring cash as there are zero atm machines and they do not deal with credit cards.
- Patricia (10/5): - The hotel is located in a small Nubian village called Gaharb Sohail. You will need to take taxis or microbús to go to tourist sites. Wonderful cultural experience. I will return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A couple of days in Nuba, Egypt. - Very nice stay in Nuba.
- Helene (10/5): Colorful Nubian Hotel - Beautiful small hotel. Really nice and helpful staff. Not a 5 star place but attractive decor for a Nubian experiencea. Really excellent cook. Many stairs. Hard mattress.
- Geo (10/5): Authentic Nubian Experience - Even though we arrived early in the day, we were invited up to their wonderful rooftop patio to enjoy a delicious welcome drink while they cleaned our room which took maybe 20 minutes. We easily passed the time enjoying the beautiful view of the Nile, the desert and passing camels. The workers were incredibly friendly and welcoming; they reassured us everyone in the village was family and that we were now family, too. The food is home-cooked and wildly delicious.
We stayed in the top room with a balcony and view of the river. It was spacious and the bathroom was clean (it's only separated from the rest of the room by a plastic curtain, but it's set up fine for privacy). The whole building is gorgeous, both inside and out. If I ever get enough money to build my own house I will definitely do it in this style. The ceilings are domed with brick, the floors are nice tiles, the decor is very warm. It really is beautiful. My only mild recommendation would be to have maybe a table or desk in the room, as we had to leave most of our stuff on the floor. I liked the minimalism of it, but there also needs to be some functionality, too.
Aswan was more of a 'city' than we thought, but this was set in a small Nubian village that was relaxing, authentic and charming just across the river. I really couldn't have asked for anything more, and you'd be silly to come all this way and not experience what little Nubian is left in Egypt (even local Egyptians were visiting).
- Marwan (8/5): Nubian Experience: Nature and company - The location of the hotel is at the end of the paved street of Gharb
Suhail village. It turned out to be a bit more remote and way less
accessible than I thought (transportation to and from is not as
easy as just hailing a cab).
Basically the best reason to stay there if
you're a group of friends who have no interest of being mobile and
want to stay nature gazing and socializing on the roof. The Nubian
drawings and poetry are all over the house.
This property can mostly be considered as a bed and breakfast
rather than a hotel. The rooms are just less than cozy, the hot water is only sufficient for a 5-minute bath, and you only get a chest for your clothes. Hallway for rooms is very narrow and any steps or noise there is clearly audible in all rooms.
Qassim, the manager, is basically the best thing that happened to this Nubian House. He's the best and listens to everyone and does his best.
Wifi wasn't working at all, line was cut.
I've had a problem with some noisy Indians and their children and conflict resolution wasn't at its best. Their children were the worst trouble makers and everyone was miserable.
- Edward (8/5): Quiet place out of the hustle and bustle. - We specifically picked this location due to it's proximity AWAY from Aswan. It's out a bit from central Aswan(15min/50-70LE cab ride) but well worth the quiet environment. When giving directions, say you want to go to Anakato Nubian Houses/Villages as no one knows this place by it's English name of Hadouta Masreya.
Also, the local Nubian free breakfast is AWESOME!!!!!!!
