The rooms are spacious and the suite I stayed in had a kitchenette which was a bonus! The shower was wonky., not sure I understood how to move the doors so the water didn’t keep coming out onto the floor. But it’s not a dislike.

- Angela (10/5): Highly Recommend! - Love the cookies! Staff was exceptional. Room was nice and roomy with comfortable beds and a good selection of pillows. This was the first bathroom mirror I've ever been able to use for makeup and the shower had a footrest for shaving legs. Best designed bathroom ever! Close to shops, food and highway. It's a little pricey but worth it for a good night's sleep.

The room was very comfortable and was fully equipped to meet our needs. Whenever we're in town, Hawthorn Suites at Wheeling, will definitely be our preferred choice.
- Ryan (6/5): Not Impressed - Was not super impressed. Smudges and stuck food on the fridge door and handles. Bathroom was not very clean. Coffee maker in the room was disgusting. Pink and black mold in the shower. The shower door leaked. Had to put towels on the floor so we didn’t slip from all the water. I would not stay here again.

They rooms were very clean and the staff was amazing!! We will be back! It is a great location for us with our daughter there in school.

- Dennis (10/5): A review for a hotel that deserves it. - This trip the room was especially clean. The staff are all very helpful. We have stayed at this hotel at least ten times over the past several years while occasionally visiting the other hotels in the area. There is no comparison. The rooms are alot larger with a kitchen. Full size fridge that you don't have to crawl on the floor to use like all the other hotels have. Their breakfast is also better than all the other hotels in the area that we have stayed at. For what they give you, you just can not beat the price.

Breakfast was always good, loved the fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. When we arrived they even had lasagna out. Kitchen area was always clean and hallways were always clean. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone. Lots of great shopping really close and only a few minutes to Wheeling.

- 885debs (10/5): Unsurpassed Customer Service - My group of six ladies has been staying at this Hawthorn Suites Hotel twice a year since 2017. Each visit just gets better. From the personal care we get when we call to make the reservation, right up until we check out after our two-night stay, we are treated better than royalty. We are treated like family. The lobby becomes our Great Room and we are AT HOME, or so it feels. At the Front Desk we are made to feel like they have missed us and can't wait to catch up on our latest news. Robyn and Brent have made it certain that we won't be having our semi-annual get-togethers anywhere else. They always go the extra mile for my friends and me. From the treats they have for us on the buffet, all the way up to the extra towels and soaps, the Hawthorn has made us loyal repeat customers. One last note, the hotel rooms, lobby, patio and workout room are always clean and tidy. Keep up the good work!
- Karen j (10/5): - The hotel is in a great location and the gentleman that checked us in was fabulous. He was so friendly and caring and helpful. The room was beautiful, nice and clean very spacious and the bathroom was just luxurious. I had a great stay.
- LatashaN135 (10/5): One of the best in the area - Pros: Close to quick eats. Friendly staff. Free breakfast. Lots of breakfast options. Comfy beds & pillows. Mini kitchen for extended stay option. Spacious rooms. Easy & quick check in/checkout. Quality accommodations. Cons; Bathroom door is a sliding door. It doesn't fully close on either side if the door. Plugs are not easy to access for charging. Breakfast Quality is nothing to write home about. It's FREE & it's clear why. I would definitely stay again!

- Jennifer (4/5): - I stayed here for one night on vacation and really wish I hadn’t. The hotel looked nothing like the pictures online. There were about six men smoking right outside the entrance the entire time I was there, which made me uncomfortable walking in and out with my service dog. The room seemed clean at first, but later I noticed long black dog hairs all over the bathroom floor – definitely not from my dog. Overall cleanliness was bad. Garbage cans were overflowing, and the outdoor seating area was covered in cigarette butts and ashes. Even the benches out front were filthy. Breakfast was gross and the coffee was undrinkable. Staff were just okay – not rude but not welcoming either. I got such a bad vibe that I went out to buy bug spray for peace of mind. I would not recommend this hotel and will never stay here again.

- Janet (4/5): Just okay - Booked a king bed but gave away and put wife and I in 2 queen beds. Garbage can in room had small amounts of waste not removed. Beds were not comfortable. Due to many workers staying here, floors in elevator and hallway are very dirty. Nice to have sink, microwave, full size fridge fir linger stays but not a high end establishment

- Robert (2/5): - We have stayed at the Hawthorne several times over the past few years due to its cleanliness,price and quietness. This time was different. We stayed in room 404. I don't think it was ever cleaned from the last guests. Desk chair looked like someone had an accident on it,discussing. Desk top was dusty & the floor below it had an M&M,fruitloop & other various pieces of garbage on it. There were no sheets,blanket or pillows for the sofa bed, wife had to go down to the desk to get some. In the tub I found in the one corner to the left of center of long back wall blood & tissue that appeared to be a small scab. Towels were folded but hastily thrown under the sink,& one had an earwig in it that was dead.Soap & condiments were almost non existent.Refrigerator door side looked like it has never ever been wiped down since it was new.Table top had something smeared on it we had to wipe down before we could use it.We usually use the microwave light underneath for a night light BUT it didn't work.Light on night stand had bad receptacle,we had to replace it with another one in the room as I need it for my Bi-Pap.We never used any of their dishes as they were all water marked & as dirty as the rest of the place was who knows what else was on them.We can't take pictures and send them or we would have.Don't know if mangement doesn't give them enough time to clean or if they are just lazy.My bet is on mangement.We usually let 5.00 each night we stay,this time they should have payed me.
- 141marilynt (10/5): Excellent hotel! - This hotel is excellent in every way! The employees are so friendly and helpful. The lobby, dining room, hallway, and rooms are very clean. The beds/pillows are so comfortable. The breakfast buffet was so very good, and there are snacks available all day. I felt totally safe here, and it’s a convenient location to the interstate, shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel!

- Sharad (2/5): - Terrible customer service. Booked queen suite with 2 queen and a sofa bed for my family. Bathroom door was broken. Asked for the other room, receptionist was reluctant to help, asked for a manager's contact but refused to give saying manager out of town. They downgraded and gave 2 queens without sofa which was not sufficient, one of the family members had to sleep on the floor on blanket.
- Marissa (8/5): Very good - Very close to the sports complex where we were visiting We booked a room for a king size bed and upon check in we were told we got switched over to a two queen room and was not able to be put in a king room. Doesn’t make sense to make reservations for a specific room and get switched without notice.

- Hendricks (8/5): Welcoming feeling - Loved the breakfast. This place is outstanding. Clean with great staff. I have to say one of the best places I have stayed at. I wish there was a pool and a hot tube but had neither.
- Cynthia (10/5): - I had stopped over on a long drive during a bad rain storm and was a bit frazzled when I arrived. The front desk evening shift person was so warm and welcoming and even helped me find parking when the lot was full. It made a big difference to have someone friendly. When I got to the room, it was large and the bed was very comfortable and had a kitchenette. It was a great stay and I highly recommend it.

The rooms were clean. They didn't look outdated. There were four of us in the King suite with the sofa bed. The room was very spacious. Great service by the staff as well. I would definitely stay here again if in town.

Breakfast was great. Lot more variety than most hotel breakfasts we’ve had. Got in late and the beds were nice and comfy for a good nights sleep

I visit this area two or three times a year and have stayed at several other hotels here but this was the best so far. The exterior was well manicured and clean. The outdoor seating and fireplace was a nice touch.
