I spotted blood on the bedding on a few occasions while at the hotel which was not ideal. • Angela (8/5): Loved it - First I must say the staff were very professional and poilite. Our suite was not ready when it was check in at 12pm..it was ready after 2pm. The suite we booked was the one with the jetted tub, there was no jetted tub, just a large shower, that was disappointing but other than that the suite was very clean and tidy, the AC was working very well. We had housekeeping done daily. The breakfast was nice, had to tip the chefs... their service was great, no complaints there. The atmosphere around the hotel was good, live bands at the pool side, nice vibe... I would go back there for sure... We loved our stay.

• Dee (8/5): Nice manager - When going on a night away from home with your special someone, you expect your stay to be pleasant. I had planned on staying a week because the rooms are so pleasing. Although, the water was cold I loved the tub in yy the plush bathroom. The refrigerator was a major plus. The bed was very nice and soft. BUT... the dining staff not so much. It's rather irritating to order something and be told why can't you have this one. Or sorry because of the issues in the country we don't have that. Not an excuse. The manager came to appease me which was more than what the staff did. I never got to use the pool because of unfriendly looking boys sitting around there. If security could be more effective than I would say it's a decent place to stay.

• David (8/5): Fantastic, from reception to the room service, from footmen to the cleaners, I thank every one! - The breakfast is surely not English because of the way their egg and sausages are prepared (I do not think they have variety of Sausages as we do in the UK) They tend to prefer hard food for breakfast and the cornflakes is surely not cornflakes, it surely did not taste like cornflakes to me. Having said this, the services in the Restaurant was definitely a 5 star service I will give them 24/10, the women and men in the Restaurant are just out of this world with their care, attention and making you feel welcome all the time. They are always there to help, provide and make sure you get what you want. I thank them. The bathroom MUST HAVE HAND RAILINGS OTHERWISE IT IS DANGEROUS. Variety of breakfast and stop looking at Nigeria dishes for breakfast, it is an international hotel after all. I like to see variety of friend eggs, good sausages, better serials for breakfast (not the cornflakes that takes like wood flakes.

Hardware for sink drain was removed and sitting by the faucet. No irons & ironing boards in room. You have to pay to have your clothes ironed. Not the first small hotel I have heard that but still a negative. Room was spacious and bed was good. About the only positives I can think of.

• Verified traveler (10/5): My awesome stay at De Santos - First of all I’d like to give kudos to the management of De Santos hotel Lagos for situating a comfortable, heart warming location in this environ. I’d say the service was more than what we paid for. I’d start with the securities. They’re all friendly and do their work whole heartedly. To the cleaners, they’re just the best at what they do. They do it back to back everyday with zeal and never get tired. To the receptionist, I’d first thank Mariam for always taking the call anytime I call because I always disturb. Prince will, is just a great guy that would always do his job perfectly even under hard conditions. To the other lady, she was very kind, mature and even though my first booking didn’t go well because they forgot to keep y room she really tried her best to made it up to me during my stay. Samuel is just the guy all organization need to keep their wheel moving, always smiling and never met him in an annoying moment. To the other porter too he’s also a great guy. I’d give the Kitchen crew a standing ovation and a round of applause. First from Isaac, Lawal, Mary Jane, Mercy and. The chef behind the scene. You guys are doing a very great job and I’d appreciate if you guys can keep it up . Despite having to deal with different people they always consult themselves and make sure the situations don’t get out of control and make sure the guests get whatever they want. They promised to fix it twice, but never showed up. I was given only one towel. On the second day, I asked for a towel which took 1 hour to be delivered.

• charles (2/5): Hotel has taken the turn for the worse - Hotel room had mould around the air-conditioning unit and the air conditioner wasn't working properly. The sheets on the bed had stains from previous occupant and Staff were very unhelpful when contacted about it. A cleaner a d a repair man eventually turned up at 12 midnight after series of complains. I requested for a new room but that wasn't possible until we complained again and a new room which was worse than the first was provided. The doors don't lock and the toilet seat was not connected to the toilet unit. Reserved a room with breakfast as stated on website but hotel insisted that we pay for breakfast. I stayed here last year and based on my stay decided to revisit but it has changed for the worse. Management need to pay more attention to reviving the hotel rather than concentrate on extorting money from guest by false advertising.

• Brianna (4/5): Expect to pay more for less. - Was very disappointed with my stay here. Ended up booking 3 rooms for my husband and I plus some family. I dont know where to start with all the problems we had. They do not give you any towels so be prepared to bring your own or have to ask for one. Paid extra for a deluxe room to fit extra people it was the same as the standard so dont waist your money on anything more than a standard room. The hotel is close to the airport and has some enjoyable facilities like and outdoor club by the pool but other than that I cannot say anything nice. I felt very ripped off with the false advertisement of the 2 free breakfasts, it is only one breakfast that is free and them wanting to charge 5000N for a roll away bed in the deluxe room that was meant to sleep more people. The cleanliness of the room walls and tiles and shower was not good and all of the sheets and one towel that they provide are covered in stains. If you ask to resolve a discrepancy with one of the staff they do not do anything to resolve the issue. The food is ok but very overpriced, you are better off getting food at one of the local eateries, it will save you 3000N per meal. The hotel is secure and the taxi driver that is available within the gates of the hotel is a very fair and a good man we used him instead of Uber for the entire 10 day stay. Unfortunately I will not stay here again because of the false advertisements and rude staff. Also dangerous wet floors from airconditioning dripping and no bath mat.

Dirty!! Food not much there for foreign travelers, nigerian food isn't great unless you enjoy spicey spicey foods!!! water was an issue only one bottle for two ppl a day, as one bath towel for two ppl....no cup or glass in the room either....I would never stay again!!!!

• Messiah (4/5): - It's important to remember that while traveling abroad people will try to take advantage of you. This establishment claimed there was no shuttle from the airport to the hotel and we were required to pay extra for a service they claimed they provided. Also rent rooms in advance so the staff has time to get them cleaned and in working order. We added an extra room upon our arrival that was less than satisfactory (e.g. roaches on the bed). Its a fair enough try for an establishment like this in a city as populated as Lagos, but ultimately there are nicer places to stay. Read the fine print and choose wisely.

I received no wi fi, no robe, no slippers, and a kitchen that could rarely provide anything on the menu. I often heard "Can't have that" when ordering food. The room was anything but deluxe. It was difficult to have a towel for each person staying in my room. We were expected to share one towel. I was thoroughly disturbed by other guests as they shouted for hours and slammed doors. Top that off with a security guard that followed me as if I were a thief. I had plans to visit another city, then return to De Santos for the remainder of my trip. I changed my plans to return. I can't encourage anyone to stay here. I feel that De Santos has false advertisement.

No mosquitoes, very safe place, you can hang out around the hotel or outside the hotel. Close by market to shop, nice clothing store next door, suupermarker is close by too. You can take uber, or Okada or taxi to move around easily. The staff are well organized, disciplined & honest. Food is amazing, nice dinner buffet. Live music/band always at night, swimming pool is clean, gym is good enough. I’m very impressed. All the airports are close by... less than 20 mins away. I will always stay here.

• Sylvester (4/5): Too expensive for the rubbish you get! - Easy to find, at a popular junction with lots of taxi, security men, banks, eateries, and traffic outside so you feel secure but the rooms are far inside the yard so it is quiet for sleeping, there is a lot of space inside the yard for such a busy area. Booked the regular double bed room with free breakfast buffet but on getting there receptionist said it is free for 1 person only, 2nd guest has to pay, we are talking about a room booked for 2 adults. I argued it did not say so on my room info. After some quarrel she said she will let us have the buffet for free for 2 people. The buffet was actually good, lots of choices of continental dishes kept warm. The room was utter rubbish! For that quality I have seen better rooms for cheaper prices in Asia, cockroaches everywhere, bathroom was dirty, 1 towel in a bathroom for 2 adults, dirty bath, dirty wash basin, dusty cupboards, A/C was quiet but the internal unit was dripping water right inside the room. I just thought this was too expensive for such price. I would not even recommend a night here, just go to a similarly priced place and you will have great value for your money! The staff did not like that we were waiting for 2 hours in reception sitting area after we had checked out, we had a late night flight to catch. No hospitality here, I bet they were expecting us to give them some extra money to sit in reception.

• charles (8/5): Best customer experience in lagos - The staff made a difference as you can tell they enjoyed doing their job. The rooms are spacious and clean, the room service is second to none. Noticed a bug on day 2 and reported to the front desk, by the time we got back, it felt like the room was completely washed down and made our night sleep enjoyable. Very impressed with the swift response. The hotel is hidden away from the busy streets outside so you can't really tell how busy it is as soon as you step into the hotel grounds. Would definitely stay here again for sure.

• Monica (4/5): Hotel Misery/Nightmare - Staff had no clue I was arriving, No information on guest readily available about my stay. No towels, no pillowcases, had to request for these. Room had a dead roach in it, bathroom dirty, linens not clean, ripped with blood stains on it. Poor room service, food was sub standard, it took several reminders before food was brought up. A/C Dripped water in middle of room, and was noisy. You could hear conversations from guests next door and in corridors. Rooms are not sound proofed so you can literally hear the loud music from partying in the hall next door and the pool was not clean. TV Channels are not premium as advertised, got only 5 channels, soccer, CNN, and NTA Wifi, worked a few minutes at a time then it shuts down so you constantly had to reenter user ID and password The staff asked me everyday if I was checking out even after providing my checkout date.
• Verified traveler (2/5): it was absolute nightmare. - I've paid for the room online and we were told all the rooms are fully booked on getting to the hotel. They claimed they were not aware of my booking but was given a room after so much hassle. There was a dirty towel on getting to the room and then it took them forever to bring another towel. To cap it all, there was no breakfast in the morning as we were told they cannot make another breakfast because the kitchen closes at 10am even when we got there 9.30am. I demanded to see the manager but was told no one is around.
• Eboni (8/5): only stay here if you just need somewhere to sleep - The overall stay was ok... The rooms weren't as clean as should have been and breakfast buffet was never full. It was like we always had to eat what was left. The bathroom in our room had a very foul order but was fixed in a timely manner. I would say stay at this hotel if you just want to sleep and go. Is not a hotel for family vacation or relaxation.
