Guest Reviews
- Melody (10/5): -
- Nogan (7/5): - The location was convenient, and the inn is charming, well maintained and comes with some early American history. The room was clean and adequately sized. On the plus side there is a restaurant across the parking lot which is absolutely excellent. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable, and the breakfast was a disappointment. On the weekends, they serve only a cold continental breakfast.
- Kate (9/5): -
- Hawk (4/5): Will not be staying there in the future. - It was ok. Set up in a hallway and limited selection The room was very noisy with the interstate highway within hearing distance. The tub/shower did not drain properly and the water diverter did not work properly. The filter for the AC/Heat Unit was dirty.
- Fenn (10/5): The stay was most enjoyable and very convenient for our meeting. - Rooms were peaceful.plenty of parking. Breakfast could have been better.
- Gumkowski (5/5): Staff good location good - needs updating rooms and cleaning out old bedspreads etc - Service was great but room smelt like old people lived there.
Pillow and bed not comfortable Location

- Christine (9/5): -
- Raphael (3/5): - bkfst was ok old blanket
cold room and bathroom
old towels
- Judith (10/5): -
- Mitchell (8/5): - The service was top notch.
The food was very good The condition of the shower was not at the level that everything else was. It was in need of repair, but did provide needed service.
- Mary-Dona (8/5): - Breakfast was great and location superb! Friendliness of staff at breakfast. I was cut off whiIe trying to get a drink at breakfast. Woman re-stocking breakfast put her cart right in front of me. She could have easily let me pass first.
- Josette (9/5): -
- Joseph (7/5): - location, proximity to an excellent restaurant, to highway, to all activities i was attending breakfast could have been much better, however, the coffee machine was great
- Curtis (8/5): Pretty, pretty, pretty good - Door failed to unlock when I returned to the room after breakfast, however, the staff hustled and rectified immediately
- DeFrancisco (8/5): We were very happy with the hotel - Food and service at the restaurant were great. Location was wonderful The heat was a little difficult to figure out and there were no urns of coffee at breakfast the second day
- Rowena (9/5): It was a pleasant stay - The property was very quaint and pretty. It’s fine
- Andrea (9/5): We would stay again the next time we travel to the area. - The breakfast was satisfying and convenient in a beautiful location. The only change that I would make is to have a more comfortable mattress.
- Michele (10/5): Can’t wait to go back! - Beautiful, clean ! Nothing
- Leslie (10/5): Always a great experience! - Always very beautiful and very clean! Terrific, friendly, and very helpful front desk staff. Beds could be firmer. Very mushy.
- Joseph (9/5): Enjoyable! - Very good, but not enough seating room in the breakfast area. Sink in the bathroom did not hold its water, faulty seal on the drain plug.
- Polly (6/5): Nice room/soured by poorly trained check-in staff - The facilities, price and room were very nice. The young man who checked us out was very nice and polite. He obviously works well with the public. I was not impressed w/checkin. We were tired and weary and the woman who checked us in was not at the desk when we entered and there was no bell or way to get service. We could hear someone talking on a phone in an adjacent room but they could not see us standing up here. We probably stood there for 3 or 4 min before a woman paused to come out of the room and see us. She acted as though we were interrupting her and said in a hard to understand accent that she couldn’t find our reservation( which we made at least an hour before arriving). She was very rude the entire check-in and it was not a good start to our stay. We had a hard time finding our room because her instructions in broken English were not understood by us. She needs more training before dealing with the public.
- Richard (9/5): Comfortable place to stay - Breakfast was ok. nothing
- Linda (10/5): -
- Sylvia (9/5): I had a great stay at The Old Mill Inn - NA NA

- Richard (10/5): Wish we had a longer stay and hope to return. - Friendly staff, beautiful interior architecture with inviting common rooms on each floor along interior staircase, traditional room decor, delicious hot breakfast buffet included. And The Grain House Restaurant across the property was historic, fun, and all of us had outstanding food.
- Karen (9/5): - The weather and facilities
- Craig (10/5): -
- Adams (7/5): - The room was large, comfortable and well arranged. The heating system. We had to control it by reaching under a table, because the wall control was not functional. Either we r the fan was loudly blowing, or the room was cold.
Also, the breakfast eggs were cold and unappetizing.
- Cristofaro (10/5): Best sray ever - It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The staff was warm and welcoming. The room was spotless and comfortable. It was a ln enjoyable and relaxing escape for a night. I'd love to return in the spring when the flowers are blooming. That we could only stay one night. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and made for a nice ending to our visit.
- Leslie (10/5): Convenient stay, beautiful hotel and room, great front desk staff; but go out for breakfast - Beautiful fireplace in the lobby with a roaring fire! So nice. Staff is excellent- so accommodating, friendly, and patient. I accidentally left my phone charger the time before and they kept it for me. Very kind front desk. Nice room accommodations. Loved the soaps!
Great restaurant on the property. Breakfast eggs are always bad. Terrible in fact. First time I stayed, the scrambled eggs tasted spoiled.
This last time, the eggs Benedict were not cooked correctly and the English muffin was not toasted-it was raw bread. Only butter knives were supplied.
Couldn’t cut the bread even if I wanted to eat it. I just left everything on the table.
Somebody just doesn’t care.
Other items on the buffet were ok. Bagels, etc.
- Diane (7/5): Tried to get me to move out of our room to give to someome else when I hada 3 day reservation.someone else, when I had - Horrible breakfast brunch, not on time, wait staff stands around., when they run out of items, that’s it no more.
- Patricia (8/5): Beautiful hotel, great restaurant next door. - Beautiful building and décor, great ambience. The bed was way too soft and did not allow a good sleep.
No tea bags to make a cup in the room.
The breakfast was adequate. Plastic cutlery on the weekend, not in line with the gorgeous ambience of the hotel.
Cold eggs on the weekday but I told the staff that the burner under the eggs had gone out and he corrected that.
- Antonia Angela (8/5): -
- Manfred (8/5): Convenient location, but not a good value - Breakfast was perfectly fine but nothing special either. Convenient location to visit with friends living near by. AC is somewhat noisy.
- Mary (8/5): Great location if traveling to Morristown - Lovely room and perfect location for us who were traveling. Great value Would like a better breakfast if possible
- Richard (6/5): - Nice facility, good breakfast Traffic noise, hair dryer "blew up".. sparked with burn smell- reported-new dryer left, old left also.
Tv did not get local channels-reported- never fixed
- Levi (10/5): Was good - Great location and comfortable stay!
- Jeffrey (9/5): - We stay here when we visit my parents (I grew up about 5 minutes away from the Olde Mill Inn). Convenient, friendly staff, good breakfast at no charge. Always a good stay. Nothing.
- R (8/5): -
- Vincent (9/5): -
- David (10/5): - Great spot!
- JULIO (10/5): - Excellent
- Eckhard (6/5): - The room had noisy neighbors.
- Imad (10/5): - The breakfast didn't have enough varieties
- Gale F. (10/5): The Charm of Olde Mill Inn - The Olde Mill Inn was charming and a wonderul stop. The staff was helpful and accommodating. So pleased. Would book again if need to be in the area.
- Diane (10/5): Enjoying - Went for a wedding. The hotel & venue was exquisite. Top notch.
- JoAnn (10/5): Great spot to stay - I thought that the breakfast was very good. I would have liked a hard boiled egg. Loved the pancakes and coffee! No pool.
- Morley (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Very good stay & excellent location. - Very helpful staff . Breakfast was good but a lot of items kept running out .
- Robert (8/5): Overall very good pleasant stay - I like the location and the design of the hotel The shower is very old still a tub, would be nice to have walk in showers, like a more modern hotel
- Michael (10/5): Excellent - Breakfast was good though I would have liked hot oatmeal. My room smelled a bit dusty - my partners room was great had an air purifier & wood floor.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The inn is beautiful from the outside. Went there for a wedding. The reception for a different wedding was a few floors under our room. It was extremely loud until after 11:00 PM. The air conditioner kept going on and off. We couldn’t get a good night sleep.
- Serge (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Wonderful and historic
- Julias Antony (10/5): -
- Leora (7/5): Excellent and friendly staff - The hotel was great for my needs - 24 hour desk service - perfect for late arrivals
- Anne (10/5): - The Olde Mill Inn is so quaint and feels historical, yet modern. We just love the atmosphere. It's always very clean.
Having the Grain House restaurant in the same parking lot area makes it a convenient option for lunch or dinner and/or having drinks.
- Cheryl (5/5): It suited our immediate needs as we were tired from a long drive. Not near any restaurants or conveniences. - It’s location just off freeway but very quiet Old and tired furnishings.
- Dolores (6/5): - Perhaps because of late booking our room was ground floor facing a busy highway. It smelled of cigarette smoke and air freshener.
Other settings here seem far lovelier.
- Sigalit (10/5): Great experience in a pleasant hotel - The staff was kind, the room was clean, the maintenance was perfect and breakfast was good. Nothing
- Mily (5/5): decent room terrible breakfast - decent place, breakfast is not good breakfast
- Franzone (9/5): It was my third time, and I will come back. I love this hotel - Location, staff, large rooms, breakfast, and more
- Jeffrey (10/5): - I grew up in this area of NJ and now live in Colorado. I come back to visit/take care of my parents and this hotel is close to where they live. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
- Cindy (10/5): - It’s a lovely inn, with a gorgeous courtyard. We attended a wedding here and then slept over. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
- Jennifer (7/5): Wonderful, but get your breakfast elsewhere. - Beautiful inn; lovely rooms. The inn’s restaurant was wonderful: my husband’s calamari was tender and perfectly breaded. My salad was fine and my margarita with strawberries and jalapeño was truly memorable. The building is very old and infused with a colonial feel. The breakfast was perhaps the worst we have experienced in our many years of travel. The “hot” buffet was not hot; I don’t think the chafing dishes were lit. The eggs were very cold and rubbery - actually inedible. The yogurt was not labeled so we assumed it was plain, but it was sticky sweet vanilla and unappetizing. The coffee came from a push-button machine that produced a thin liquid that was also unappetizing. Thank goodness for the fruit and prepackaged cereal. For such a fine inn to have such a terrible breakfast just amazed us. But since it is the last thing most guests will remember, I assume the inn will fix this ASAP.
- Dorothy (7/5): Good -
- Judith (6/5): Nice Property, Nice Staff, Need to Work on Creature Comforts - The overall property was nice. The gentleman who checked my in was very pleasant and helpful. He accomodated my request for a room close to the handicapped parking and with a walk in show. He also selected a room that overlooked a beautiful garden courtyard. They included free breakfast which included baked goods, yummy egg with spinach bites, hash brown, meat, cereal, fresh fruit options as well as coffee, tea and fruit juices. The TV was high quality and large. The rooms are large as well. Their was a musty smell in the hotel. My room had a air purifier running so the air was clean but the unit ran continually. The A/C unit's control panel was non-functioning so I could not adjust the controls or turn it off and it was very loud. I ended up muffling it with a bath towel. The bed & pillow were too firm - they need to at least have a mix of soft/firm pillow as many hotels do.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): - Beautiful public sitting rooms. Comfortable room. Loved the l'Occitaine toiletries! Love
the small deck overlooking the courtyard. Would definitely go back.
- vicky (8/5): - Overall a good experience. Hotel is a bit dated but it is historic.
- Joseph (8/5): Great relaxing night away at a classical hotel. - The hotel and restaurant were fantastic. The front desk staff were rude and unprofessional. The front desk staff.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (9/5): Overall, excellent. - Nice room, beautiful courtyard, excellent restaurant with outside dining Bathroom could have been more user friendly. No shelf or niche in shower area which would have been helpful. Also a shelf near the sink would have been nice.
- Michael (8/5): - room did not cool down at 60F on the circulator, staff said they would look into it on my departure
- Jonathan (10/5): - Best place in town
- James (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - Really nice historic hotel. The staff was nice and the grounds were beautiful. My only complaint was the breakfast was underwhelming in comparison to the cost of the room.
- Carlos Durval (8/5): - My wife and I have enjoyed the Olde Mill Inn for many years when visiting family. It is a pleasant hotel that above all makes you feel at home. It offers a great breakfast to start your day, we just wish the old breakfast offers are brought back after it was scaled down as a result of Covid.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great!
- Karla (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel, enjoyed my stay.
- poonam (10/5): - It was a unique place.
- Ralph (10/5): - Came in earlier than expected, before check in.The staff was very accommodating.
- Ruth (10/5): Happy camper - Have stayed there before. Always clean and comfortable. Not so keen on the small pillows. Staff was welcoming and it was very peaceful this year as there was no wedding going on.
- Brigitte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (8/5): Relaxing - Nice to have breakfast a coffee a not have to go out for . A coffee machine for the afternoon pick up . All sightseeing within 5 to 6 miles . Had an outside room entrance was nice to have car right there . All was good, enjoyed our stay
- Clara (10/5): - We went for one night during a snow storm, restaurant was very good, bed was comfortable.
- Jeff (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was not the quality I expected given the description. Eggs were dry and most likely from a box, the homemade treat was excellent though!
- Franzone (7/5): Good -
- Digna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathleen (8/5): Very good -
- April (10/5): - We've stayed there several times. The staff is always pleasant, it's quiet, the accommodations are comfortable and the Grain House restaurant across the parking lot is excellent.
- Cheree (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - The Inn and the grounds are very appealing. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed our stay.
