Guest Reviews
- Jordan (6/5): - Our room was a suite in tamarack. It was decent size, had a coffee machine with no pot in the room. There was zero communication from the staff about reloading towels or even a quick tidy to the room.
- Cassandra (10/5): - We had a great stay here! Even though the cold pool and waterslides were closed they still had the warm pool and the hot tubs working and our 2 year old had a blast splashing around! Beautiful property and it wasn't too crazy busy which we enjoyed. Overall we had a lovely stay!
- Louay (10/5): - Very good to enjoy the nature and share the time with family and friends
- Doni (6/5): - Needs air conditioner!! Too hot even with four fans going.
- Virginia (6/5): - The location is amazing, and we enjoyed the room. The bed was a problem. Queen flat sheet on king bed, two single sheets in top with single covers, but not duvets. This resulted in being on bare mattress within an hour. Also, we went for a bike race and the bike safe area closed before we arrived, and no bikes in rooms.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room is good but wifi is not working
- Emily (4/5): - The properly was fine, but, was overpriced for the quality and size of the unit. Plus, if you had any issue, the resort will not help you - they just direct you back to Expedia. Therefore, I don't recommend booking this place through Expedia directly - you will also get a cheaper rate if you just book direct with the resort.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ski in ski out, nice hot tub. Good location. Not much else to say
- Connor (6/5): - Great place, check in door was frozen,
- Calvin (6/5): 3 star - The room was not clean and had a couple maintenance issues. But you cant beat the location at the resort.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s great to stay here and we enjoyed it. The pool is nice
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location, not enough restaurants or places to eat.
- Helen H. (4/5): Beautiful spot but condo was disappointing - Panorama mountain resort is definitely worth a stay but my vrbo experience with this condo was quite disappointing. First, I couldnt get confirmation on the unit number and the resort couldnt confirm my reservation without that the first two times i called. Finally the third time, the person at reception was willing to check my reservation by last name luckily, but the response i had from vrbo was awful. When i sent a messagr asking the unit number they sent back a link with very little information and no unit number. Then when i went back to check my messages, the link had disappeared from my message history, and still no confirmation of unit number. When i asked again, i got no response. The room was dirty, and the bed cover had a urine odour. Half the appliances didnt work (coffee machine/toaster) and the beds were very saggy and couldnt get a decent sleep bc of that. Nice mountian view from the small balcony and we really enjoyed the resort despite all of that, being at Springs lodge is right at the pool so great for the kids. Unfortunately the pool heaters stopped working that weekend so the hot tub was a cold pool but we still made the most of it and enjoyed it. Would ddfinitely go back but not with vrbo.
- Heather B. (8/5): Check in process frustrating. - Overall our stay was great but checking in was very frustrating. The “owner” of the property is actually Panorama Mountain Resort but when I spoke to someone on the phone prior to our stay, they kept saying the resort has nothing to do with VRBO. Then when we arrived and I spoke to someone at the check in desk, she insisted on the same thing. I went to the car and called VRBO and after waiting on hold for a few minutes decided to go back in. After speaking to the same lady again she finally looked up the booking from my name and found it.
This whole process could have been a lot smoother and much less confusing.
- Family (4/5): - I like the full kitchen , bedroom.
I don’t like dirty washroom and small place
4 people $255 per night ?
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property was not worth the cost- very few convinced
- Matt S. (8/5): condo at ski tip - It was a great stay!
- Paloma (10/5): - Our experience was absolutely amazing. Panorama is beautiful and the resort has so much to do, you do not need to leave!
I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!
- Jessica M. (10/5): Fun Weekend - The property was nice and clean. Panorama was beautiful and has lots of activities for the family. I'll go back again for sure.
The only confusing part was I booked through VRBO so I thought it was privately owned, but on my statement it says I booked from Expedia. I booked through the VRBO website yet it stated I booked through Expedia.
- Mukesh (10/5): #roadtrip2019 - We truly enjoyed out stay for 2 nights and highly recommend this resort
- marieta i. (10/5): Me and my family had a great time - It was great!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - The check-in experience was smooth and pleasant.
The room was pretty run down and my kids found dropped items under the bed and the hideabed couch - empty plastic water bottle and a toy. So clearly cleaning has some gaps.
The pools are great but they kept on running out of towels and the person who run the desk on the day we got a couple took their frustration out on us when we were returning them - not cool.
Tried to go to the T-bar and grill for dinner, and got ignored for almost 15 minutes by three different servers who walked by us several times each and all of them actively avoided eye contact. Well with a family of four, they lost at least $70 on us - we eventually walked out and went to the general store instead and got some soup and crackers and a pack of beer for way less than what we would have paid for dinner at the Grill... The girl at the store was wonderful.
Some other guests yelled outside until 2:30am so we didnt get much sleep. Not something that the resort staff has control over, so not holding this against the place, however it didn't add to the overall mediocre experience.
I've been to Panorama before and this was most certainly the most disappointing experience there.
- Mary (2/5): - I liked the amenities but I didnt like when I book through Expedia for Toby Creek/Horsetheif Condos and the facility change it at checkin. Very disappointing, staff is also very rude, not very accomodating. She keeps telling that its an Upgrade but I didnt ask for Upgrade? She keeps arguing. I wonder why is she working at Front Desk Help? Worst experience ever with Customer Service.
- Robert (10/5): Great family trip - Amazing trip love the different temperatures of the pools will come agsin
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For off seaon it was quite and pleasant with plenty to do.
- Curtis (4/5): - The bed in our room, and the pull-out couch were really uncomfortable. There was also no air conditioning and out room was very warm at night which made it hard to sleep. There was a boil water advisory put in place after I'd already booked the trip, and we weren't able to cancel. This made it difficult with a toddler.
We paid for 3 nights, but after 2 we decided to leave and go home early because we were so uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I didn’t like the smallness of the room. It was small for four people and there was no air conditioning which made the room really hot. But I loved how the room gave us rentals of glass plates and cups.
- JS (8/5): - Beautiful views and great walking trails. Rides and such a bit pricey but beautiful place overall
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really liked the Gondola ride, the proximity to hiking trails and the hot pools and cold pool with slides.
- M. (6/5): - Good location! Right next to the lifts!
Wifi was poor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good relaxing and hot pool is really hot which is good for the weather nothing to do on a May long weekend
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property is dated, but clean. Great ski resort. Had a good time.
- Douglas (8/5): - Very nice resort. Love the ski in, ski out, so convenient. Also enjoyed the hot tubs. The ski hill is fantastic with such a large variety of runs. Enjoyed having lunch at the chalet at the summit. They have everything you need within the resort.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good access to parking, clean building, didn’t see one staff member the entire stay.
- K (8/5): - The condo was a great set up and very convenient in location. We just heard a lot of noise from the pool and other units.
- Bradley (10/5): - Great stay
- Corinne (8/5): - Pullout sofa mattress not great but using the couch cushions works! Has all you need
- Peter M. (2/5): Death by 1000 Cuts - BEWARE: prices listed are not in Canadian $!!
The resort had many small issues that accumulated into a disappointing experience.
- Mike (8/5): - Loved the 1 bedroom suite and balcony. The Tamarack building is becoming a little bit dated, however served our needs well.
Really enjoyed the kitchenette and saved us a lot of money and time.
Overall, would recommend this vacation as lots of activities to do...outdoor pool & waterside & hot tub & sauna; mini golfing; tennis; gondola lift & hiking; biking; etc.
Best part about the visit—quiet, relaxing and not busy. An excellent choice for family.
- Suzy (6/5): - Did not receive the room that was advertised in the building that was listed. Thought the room was going to be in the tamarack lodge, but was in the pines lodge. Apparently we were told that was Expedia’s doing. Not impressed with the deception.
- Rose (8/5): - The location and onsite activities are wonderful. We had challenges when we checked-in as the staff said we didn't order a cot but they didn't read the special instructions, which we had proof of. They charged us $20 per night for a blow up cot in a bag which we didn't have a pump for. The only two minor inconveniences were there was an water advisory and we had to boil the water before drinking it and the rooms were hot as they don't have A/C. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful, even in the pub where they ran out of the drinks and food we tried to order off the menu.
- kelly (8/5): - Room could is an update, but very clean and staff were friendly.
- Gail (8/5): - facility as a whole great - lots of stuff to do. Our condo unit needed a little more cleaning and maintenance.
- Juan G. (2/5): No BBQ - Strong smell of food - Kitchen in bad conditions - Hi there
We are very disappointed with our rental. We arrived last night and the unit had a very strong smell of food, we can’t sleep very well because of this. Today after we came from the pool, we wanted to cook our dinner and the BBQ has a lock and also don’t have propane. As you see on my messages, I sent an email to you July 6th asking about the bbq , I didn’t receive any answer but I made a call two days after and a lady on the phone told me that according to the information the unit has a bbq. We brought all our food to make a bbq every day and now we are looking for a restaurant and we have to take our food back to home
Addition to this, the kitchen has all the utensils in very bad condition, old and the pots are badly washed, we had to wash them again.
It has been a very bad experience, we come here every year and this one has been the worst service we have received for the price that we paid.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The condo was spacious and large enough for our family
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful area
- Jason (8/5): - Lots of activities for children and adults. Enjoyed the pool and all of the resorts amenities.
- Suzanne (10/5): - This was a great place to stay with so much to offer a family with 2 young children. Our only regret is that we only had 1 night to stay there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Debbie (4/5): - The outdoor of buildings and setting are beautiful. No parking near room. Must park 2nd vehicle in non protected lot. Room carpet was filthy and threadbare. Sofa bed very uncomfortable. Mattress worn and coils very much felt. Our cards demagnetized 4 times even when we were careful where we stored them- have to go all the way down to central booking to fix as reception in our building was closed.
- Felix (10/5): We will be back - Close to everything. Hotel was good.
- Colleen (8/5): - The location of Tamarack condos couldn’t be better! The staff on the resort were all exceptional and provided and very positive and easy atmosphere...it was like you were with your friends. They were very accommodating! Our one bedroom condo was a bit smaller than what we expected from the pictures...we had difficulty trying to find a place to set up our playpen for our infant son to sleep in but we made it work, not a deal breaker for us. However, the bathroom was not very clean. There was hair on the floor and in the tub, and the shower curtain had mildew all over it. The rest of the unit did seem really clean though. Loved the resort but was a bit disappointed by the bathroom situation.
- Mr.J (6/5): Condo at Panorama Resort - Place needs renovations. No air condition, fan with bare cables. Comunication with front desk takes several time. Admin friendly but do nothing it looks like dont care. All I got from them is that we have to complain with Expedia.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable condo for family - We enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable and very close to activities nearby.
- Paul (8/5): Resort fun - Lots of pools and hiking trails available
Some services closed due to off season stay
- David (8/5): Hidden Gen - Love this place. Only downside room smelled weird like bacon and sweaty socks
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Cramped accommodations for 3 people. Only restaurant open was a bar, extremely loud with poor quality live band. Food was great though. Had to pay cover to get in to get it however, so to make it ‘worth it’ Ended up staying for a few drinks and going home late. Check out was at 11. Afterwards wanted to go for breakfast but no where on the resort was serving breakfast food anymore. Went into town to get breakfast and ended up waiting 2 hours for our food.
- Marvin (10/5): Summer get away - Nice resort to get away from it all, Nice mountain Village !
- Verified traveler (6/5): - During summer months food options are limited. Clean but older hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I had booked a room with a king and a queen size bed- I was given a room with a king and 2 double size beds. Kitchen floors were sticky and a candy wrapper on the carpet. Front desk staff were nice and welcoming.
- Carolyn (6/5): Resort should Practice their own noise Restriction - We've been to Panorama before as we love to take our Grandchildren there for an escape. On this trip, we were very dissapointed in the noise level of the entire resort, not just our room or building. Inside the room, information is provided on the resort, including a warning that states that any noise after 11 pm is subject to a fine. Why doesn't this rule apply to the entire resort?? For the entire May weekend, the resort hosted a live band at the pub, which played with the windows open until after 2 AM. Even with closing our windows (and nearly suffocating) we were subjected to the loud thumping base. The party goers at the pub were outside as the weather was nice, running and screaming up and down the road-ways. It needs to be mentioned that the band, including their audience were very vulgar, dropping the "F"bomb in every sentence. There was no escaping it. Our grandchildren were tired, cranky and unhappy each day as they could not sleep. Should the resort then pay a noise level fine to all the guests who were not part of this party? Probably not!
- Sonja (6/5): Worst service ever. - Worst service ever. Booked a room with two bedrooms for two couples. Got a room with two single beds. Called the front desk and they gave us another room that was supposed to have a queen bed and a king (which is what we booked) arrived in the new room and again two twin beds. This room had the heater on full so it was 27 degrees in there. Complained again, there was nothing they could do for us. We ended up going back to the first room. The keys didn't work. All in all I had to go back to the front desk 4 times. All I got was "we're sorry". We will never go back there. Lots of young, loud people that kept us awake half the night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to the ski lift. - Clean comfortable room getting a little dated in overall appearance. The doors to enter our hotel that you are to swipe your card to get into were broken or missing all together so anybody could access the building.
- Ian S. (10/5): Great stay in the upper village - Close to everything, pools, restaurants. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom in the Panorama Springs building, which was perfect for our family. Will definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable right on the hill - Studio with kitchen was perfect for the two of us. Steps away from the lifts. Quiet. Staff were very few and far between. Check in lady didn’t seem to care one iota about our comfort—disappointing. Otherwise we had a great vacation.
- Christopher J (8/5): - Great location for a family ski trip. Condo was dated but clean. Would stay there again.
- Traci (6/5): Convenient location - Unit was located directly above the main lodge making it convenient for dining. Was able to take our lunch up to our room instead of fighting the crowds in the cafeteria. Although we thought noice might be an issue we found the unit to be surprising quiet and well insulated. These are by no means luxury accommodations, but they were clean and comfortable with a well supplied kitchen.
- Jenn (8/5): Beautiful getaway, amazing staff! - We escaped here for a girls' weekend, and stayed in the Tamarack building. It was a beautiful little condo, had a great kitchen and comfortable sleeping area, all very clean! It was a little upsetting to not have an air conditioner in the room, especially for a hot summer weekend, but the staff were very apologetic and gave us a large fan to use. There are great close restaurants so you really don't have to leave the area for anything, which was really handy!
I ended up forgetting my hair straightener in the room, so contacted them right when I got home. They were responsive immediately, got my information, and mailed it back quickly and efficiently, which was incredibly appreciated!!
A really awesome getaway, beautiful location, amazing staff, and a great area to explore!
- Caroline (10/5): We will be back! - Absolutely loved our stay! We will be back! Enjoyed the hot tub and pool! Wonderful to have a kitchen in our room! Beautiful view from the deck!
- Darren (6/5): It's alright - It was okay. Very dead during the week. Good if you want peace n quiet
- Judith (8/5): - The balcony had a beautiful view.
- Marvin (10/5): Mountain Paradise - Great place had so much fun, has it all!, loved the how the village has it all, great pub, general store , restaurants , activives and lots of pools !! Staff was amazing! First time but not the last time for sure !!!
- David (6/5): Great Family vacation - This was our fourth time back to Panorama. We had a great time with our family and friends. There are many things to do, some cost additional money but our kids loved the pool area. We thought the prices for some of these activities were very high. Every time we have been here the weather is amazing (30+) I think it would be a good idea to at least have ceiling fans in the rooms.
- Curtis (10/5): - It was a good stay but no ac in rooms
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great trails - Fresh air and lots of outdoor exercise. Saw quite a few deer and a bear.
- Frederick (10/5): - great location
- Colleen (8/5): - Lots of things to do, beautiful setting. Room suited our needs. A little updating required eg new towels, fix blinds, plumbing required attention). Would have been nice to have added water due to boil advisory. Very good value for $. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Do Your Research - This is a big resort... There is anything from 2* to 5* rooms.
We paid a fair amount for a 2* room and our friends paid less and stayed in a much nicer room.
They called our room in Tamarack "The Slums". Our room was such a dump that we had to move.
We aren't overly posh people and make the best of any situation. In our room the Patio door fell out,
sink/toilet backed up, blinds were missing and room was in a bad way... We called front desk and they sent someone to take a look. He walked the room and told us that it was in pretty bad shape. We were offered a move to the "Springs" building at an upgrade cost of $90... After spending a night in "the slums" I suggested that that upgrade should be covered and the Management stepped up and moved us for free. Now if I was reviewing my 2 bedroom in the "springs" it was a 5*..... 2 BIG issues in our group...
1) No where in the complex is there A/C.. The rooms are sweatboxes no matter where you stay!
Take Extra fans or you will bake!
2) The Hotel is under a Boil water advisory. You get 4 Litres of water for your stay or pay $4 for a Jug of water in your room. The Hotel should have notified us before we arrived of this..
We will return in future for the great pool and slides.. Stay in the Springs Lodge..and bring our own portable Air Conditioner.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Too hot - Great to have pool otherwise with no AC rooms are unbearable in the heat you pay over $100 per you should expect comfort
- T (4/5): Disappointed - Very disappointed with the overall experience. We were put in the smallest room in the whole building! Were told that Studio unit don't come with balcony but when we saw the floor plan for the building, it clearly shows it is the smallest. The room we got is not even the same we booked through Expedia. When I called the front desk and told her this, I was told that I should have called their reservations directly to confirm the room as Expedia don't always have the exact details. Then she advised they can upgrade us to another room but there's a fee of $40/night. Very poorly handled.
The room were not very clean either. The toilet bowl had yellow stains and one big black stain on the very bottom. The carpet had a few black stains as well. The pull out bed and it's bed sheet had a stain in the middle. The ledge on top of the fireplace was full of dust when I ran my finger through it to put some stuff there. The room also don't get cleaned for our three nights stay. Only for a full week that they would come in and clean so had to request new bed sheets and towels. The room was very hot so we also had to request email extra fan. I am 7 and half months pregnant and it was very uncomfortable all three nights in this room. Pretty disappointed that I called the front desk a couple of times but they weren't able to do anything for us.
- Norma (8/5): Nice family hotel - Nice family hotel, hot summer hard to find ice around the resort but everything great in general
- nikki (6/5): Room was ok not goof service at all . - We request for 1 extra mattress they bring mid night 1 am and that was air bad . Servivce is not good al all .
- Greg (6/5): Bang for your mountain side buck - We stayed 3 nights checking out june 25, 2017. on expedia the hotel is described as panorama mountain resort but that does not specifically identify which of the multitude of buildings you will be staying on this property. some of the buildings are older and don't have balconies in some of the units. the staff is great, very friendly and very accommodating but we had to change rooms since it did not meet our expectations as advertised on expedia. in Our new room we noticed the shower head was missing in our suite. It was fixed promptly but not an ideal situation.
The resort itself is great, lots to do and the prices are very reasonable for the accommodation type as well as the attractions including a top 100 golf course in the world ( very reasonable green fees )
- Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxing scenic view - Was our first time spending weekends here and i wasnt expecting anything fabulous but i was happy with our stay. Aside from our last night that they were out of gas for the bbq in our area. Other than that everything went fine and hD a good time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): I would definitely stay again! - Rooms were clean, had a nice corner room so I had an awesome view of the mountain. The rooms were very spacious. I would definitely stay again!
- Jim (8/5): Great setting and view - Great weekend getaway in a splendid setting. Lots to do and see. Golfers paradise.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Unhappy with our stay - We were very disappointed. Our room spelt like smoke and was a non-smoking room. The elevator was broken and we had to enter in a different building and walk to our hotel and up three flights of stairs. They also forgot to tell us we needed a lock for a ski equipment. The pull out bed was also very uncomfortable, our kids didn't even want to sleep on it the second night. Overall we were very disappointed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place! Great amenities! Only complaint is the price. Very expensive!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Excellent Location - Great location, right in the center of all the action.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant vacation - Nice location. Suite a bit dated. Stairs to loft were dangerously slippery, narrow and steep - poorly designed. Exterior needs some upgrading.
- Speedy G (6/5): Good hotel with potential to be better - When we checked in our room had no balcony but we were able to upgrade free of charge. Due to it being the off season on the mountain, staff was very limited and were offered no help to move our belongings over to the next room. The view from the upgraded room was amazing especially in the mornings. The resort overall was clean and well maintained. We will come back next time with the expectation that customer service will be average at best during the off season.
- Shannen (8/5): Right on the hill at the event start! - Check in was fast and easy. Room was a nice size but was very hot no A/C. Lots of stains on carpets. Location of room was perfect for our race and close to restaurants. So much to do at Panorama in both seasons we will be back!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice resort great pool. - Telephone did not work
Older
No stairs, elevator super slow
Loud in hallways
Bath towels were like rags.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very beautiful place ! - We enjoyed ou stay .. All is good except the room .. Im expecting the room that shows in the picture which is modern but instead we got a different one .. A liitle bit old and when i complain about it they said i should go on their website instead of booking in expedia.hope they show what u should expect in your room... But all in all we loved our stay there...
- Verified traveler (6/5): Get ready to pay out of pocket - Choose the resort for all of its amenities unfortunately they came at a steep extra cost....it was $10 per person / per round of mini golf! Enjoyed the trail system for running. Kids enjoyed the pool and water slide, but many parents left children unattended. Was forced to call security when children were still running up and down the hallways into the night. Garbage collection comes early so no luck sleeping in! Not sure when and if the mattress was ever replaced in the suite...very uncomfortable.
- Maxine (6/5): Covenient location. - The carpet in the room was dirty, not able to walk bare feet; some of the pots and pans were dirty (dry food) and I found that they are not allowing pets, I guess that "no pets" is not for everybody because I counted dogs in the building (2 german shepard, bery big dogs)
- sally (6/5): It was nice 2 day getaway - Pros: kitchen very well equipped . Nice pool , kids will have fun
Cons: out dated. No air condition but fans were provided in the room
- Meenu (8/5): So many activities for kids! - So many activities for kids! Pool with slides, horse rides, chair life sight seeing tour a great vacation for a family that likes to get outside more!
- Zosimo (10/5): Summer Short Trip - It was a great stay...We will be back to this hotel again...
- Verified traveler (8/5): I hate checking out of panorama!!! - Panorama is a quiet and easy mountain resort for a family or couple to relax and stay as busy as you need to be. My young kids and I hiked, biked, paddled, and lounged for 3 days and it was great!
