The host was very friendly and prepared a great breakfast and offered us some wine and cheese after our hike, before we went to dinner. the bathroom was a little small, with the sink in the room, but that wasn't really a problem. The bed was big and good. The breakfast was served at 8:30am for everyone. For us this timing worked perfectly, but maybe not for everybody.

• Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional. Attention to detail and so welcoming. - Everything was incredible, better than I hoped for. New owners doing extensive updates, including a sauna and hot tub. Our host, Amal, couldnt have been more welcoming. She made us feel at home the moment we walked through the front door. Sat on the screened porch and enjoyed a happy hour of wine and a cheese plate. Breakfast was exceptional and homemade. Gingerbread muffins were a family recipe and reminded me of my Grandma's cooking. Definitely returning to see all of the updates and to be treated like a queen. Nothing.

The sheets on the bed are the best ever. The food was creative and tasty and they accommodated my dairy allergy well!! There were cocktails included every evening and cookies available throughout the day! Barely any complaints! I wish there was a bath mat by the tub and a first aid kit available. And a microwave would have been nice.

Our hosts, Robert and Douglas were wonderful to visit with, experts at the Galena history, restaurants and activities in and around Galena. Our daily breakfasts were all made with fresh ingredients expertly prepared! Cocktail hour was just as exceptional. Our room was beautiful, impeccably clean, with a beautiful view of their many flower gardens. The house was well laid out with many options for relaxation. All of our fellow guests were wowed by their stay, we all voiced the exceptional service, beautiful breakfasts and witty conversation with our hosts. I will always remember what a warm and inviting visit we enjoyed with Robert and Douglas. Thank you so much!

The attention to detail and the commitment to the guests was obvious. The breakfast served on the porch was an excellent experience and the food did not disappoint. The house and the grounds added immensely to the relaxed and comfortable feel. The pillows were very soft for us, detracting from our comfort. A footrest would also have been appreciated.

• Randy (10/5): Overall, this bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations. - The innkeepers,Douglas and Robert were very personable and it shows that they both have backgrounds in the hospitality business. From breakfast, that featured a different delicious dish every morning, to happy hour, which featured original cocktails and local beverages, everything was enjoyable. The property was also centrally located that made walking to places we wanted to do easy. The property is close to the main road into town so you do get a lot of traffic noise. But other that that, I can’t come up with many negative things.
• Susan (10/5): - The innkeepers had luxury hotel experience from Chicago and it showed. Place was beautiful, perfectly maintained. Service was impeccable. Breakfast was delicious. They think of everything. There are even things to purchase, like bottles of wine, even though it's a B & B.

The entire place is charming and immaculate. Their food is scrumptious. We had a wonderful time learning more about the area from them and meeting other guests. Breakfasts both days really highlighted their creativity. Really interesting cocktails in afternoon with a blend of ingredients not always available in a bar. Afternoon appetizers and drinks were held on the patio with an excellent opportunity to socialize with other guests. Highlight of the trip was the stay at the Aldrich Guest House. Our next trip to Galena will definitely include staying at the Aldrich Guest House.

The house was remodeled by them a few years ago and I was very appreciative of all the work they put in to get such a fine result. The original owners of the Aldrich House would be amazed at how well the place was restored. A very good breakfast was served out on the porch. My wife and I enjoyed the time we spent there Thumbs up!

The service that Robert and Douglas provided was exceptional. We enjoyed the evening cocktails and the breakfast was very good. We also appreciated the little things they provided like reusable water bottles, chocolate chip cookies that were available during the day and even a departing gift and thank you card. They certainly thought about a lot of details that other B&B's do not.
