Guest Reviews
- Victor (10/5): - Next to transportation
- Kathlyn (10/5): - Best value for money. Great location and comfortable room. Our room was so spacious. It even had 3 fully functional bathrooms and sinks!
- Tony (2/5): - What a sewer. The glowing ratings are clearly made up because the stark reality is a roach invested dump with staff that will laugh in your face when you complain. They don't care because you've already booked and cannot get a refund from them. Expedia should be ashamed to even include this cess pool in their list of available options.
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK for the price - For the price paid, the hotel was OK. Not too shabby but not amazing either. Room is very small for 2 people. After opening the 2 luggages there is no space to walk.
Very dim lighting, no mirror outside the toilet.
Location: 5/5
very convenient to all the shopping places in Pratunam. All within walking distance
- waiyan (8/5): - Bad Service and bad breakfast
- Allison (10/5): - A little difficult to find because it is located in a small alleyway. As another user suggested, follow directions to Benz House on Google Maps versus directions to this lodge.
Overall stay was comfortable and clean. Washer and dryer work well and is cheap to use. Breakfast was good for what they offered.
If you are interested in the market nearby, it is literally not even a two minute walk away.
I am a female traveling solo and it felt sketchy at first, but the area is overall safe. The latest I returned to the hotel was at 23:00 and everything was fine.
- Jaxon (10/5): - The morning girl is super cute and friendly. Very understanding when I arrived for early check-in. Free breakfast is basic but decent. Good location if you don’t have a lot of baggage or a car.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Closer to the shopping mall, good for pick up for tour
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Don’t be deceive by the outlook, the condition of the lodge is not bad. It has a washing machine & dryer, u can use it for 20baht each. Is 5 mins walk to Platinum Fashion Mall too
- Carmen (4/5): - The exact location not easy to found but required helps from surrounded residents.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - At the beside Benz House hotel, you need go through the Benz House hotel main entrance, go forward, left hand side then you see Cloud Nine Lodge
- richard (6/5): Hard like hell to find. - Hard like hell to find,,,when teying to,contact to them to figure out the place, tried the 800 number supplied by hotels.com, nobody would answer and hotels.com does not provide any info as to how to use that 800 number in thailand,,so who knows where this 800 number can be used from ? On top of that, it was night anss was raining like hell,so 2 hours in the rain to find that place. My thai girlfriend found another number and we were able to contact the hotel...we finally found it.
When enter the room,,,,hummm,,,bad smell,,smells like septic thank,,,i found where the smell comes from,,,from the shower drain,,,had to keep the bathroom doors closed to stop the smell in the room. The room is ok,,,the people at the reception were very nice and hap a problem opening the tv,,,,,they came right away. So the service is good,,,but they should take care of that bad smell...i saw that comment in other hotel guests. Breakfast is ok and ambiance basic, but ok. It is dark in the room,,dark colour walls.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location is perfect. Walking distance to Platinum Fashion Mall and I love the open air morning market. Easy to find food as well. The staff very friendly and helpful.
- Loke (8/5): - Only stay one night as I need to catch a flight. Room was basic. Difficult to locate as the address was confusing. Property is located in a small alley between soi 17 and19. Breakfast is self-service and simple. Ok for one night stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awsome place qith very friendly staff!!! - Very friendly staff... concerned about their guests very much... location is very close to indra square and pantip plaza!!! Reception was very helpfull ( specally Brother shiva ) very clean place with 24 hr front dest... very close ro seven eleven shops and local cloth marckets!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 很好的员工服务,很亲切很友善。四周围都有小档口卖吃很方便。
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value for the price What makes this Lodge a 5? Simply the most helpful, genuine, and caring day staff at the front desk. Alice is worth her weight in gold.
- Daniel (10/5): - For the price, absolutely no complaints. Room was clean and comfortable (a bit stylish even). Building was in a super cool area (an alley, down an alley, down an alley --- but all filled with life and shops and vendors). Walkable location with tons of street life. Staff was friendly, spoke English, and breakfast was pretty good.
- JOHN (6/5): - The hotel was overall like what they has advertised. So, you pretty much got what you have booked for. On that note, my single room was exactly the same one that was on the website.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback would be its location as it's tucked away, and you would have to walk along the Soi with all the food street vendors. And at night, I was a bit reluctant to go out late, as the Soi was dark and who knows what might crawl out and wonder around...
- Colin (8/5): - Affordability and good location. Stone throw from local markets, malls and eateries.
- Finna (8/5): - Very primely located near shopping area of Pratunam but hard to locate via GPS if driving in as hotel is in an alleyway. (Suggest for you to drop outside The Konnect Hotel, go in through the small drive thru and just turn left. Will be easier to get to!)
Rooms are clean enough to stay in with that price but sound insulation not so good so you have to keep your voice down.
Water pressure and temperature is okay but the water sometimes not consistently strong.
Staff are helpful and can speak English well.
Breakfast is included but we did not try as we just went out to eat.
- J (8/5): - It was difficult to get to the hotel if you are not familiar to the area. Dont follow the google map. My partner and I stop at Payathai BTS and walked there based on google map suggestion. It was a terrible journey.
I would advise to stop at Ratchathewi BTS or Siam BTS as the road condition to the hotel is better especially when you are travel luggage.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful. She can speak fluent English.
The room is clean and with window. Equipped with wall attached hair dryer, TV, water heater and thermal flask. Every floor of the hotel has water dispenser.
The mattress was in good condition but it was not comfortable. Maybe my partner and I are particular over mattress because our friends were very satisfied on their previous stay here.
- Geeta (10/5): Very comfortable - Good location, close to major shopping hubs. Also close to Erawan Shrine. Excellent staff service
- Eam (10/5): Nice Location - The location is right at the heart of Pratunam, very close to shopping district. You’ll just have a hard time locating it at first. The room is neat and clean, no outside noise as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good enough for sleep and wash up - Good enough for a place to rest and washing up during your trip.
- Chee (6/5): Sound proof wall quite bad. - Well the hotel itself not a big issue. Just the same level room 512 were worst. Every nite 12am they just back making noise in the room and the corridor as well.
Had complain to the reception counter but no action were taken.
- Jesse (8/5): - So far everything is good for me, except the male staff during the night time a bit rudely.
- Lorna (10/5): Quiet hotel - Difficult for the taxi to fine the hotel. It I should at the end of a narrow busy street and then at the end of the alley. Staff were very nice. Hotel was clean and very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good budget hotel if you’re not fussy - Hotel tucked away at end of street but quite safe even at night. Very convenient to Platinum Mall (5 mins walk) and continue on to central world shops (15 min walk). Not very close to BYS though, so we took a taxi instead. 24-hr reception, basic breakfast. Daytime reception Alice is cheerful and very helpful in showing directions and recommendations for places to visit. Room is small and has basic amenities - shampoo and shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste, one big towel. Drinking water dispenser on our floor. We could hear noise from outside our room like housekeeping and also a child was crying in the mornings.
- Camie (10/5): Very nice hotel room and location. - Very nice hotel room and location. Hospitality staffs too
- Verified traveler (6/5): Wifi - Hotel wifi is not working during my entire stay.
Is a low cost budget inn, value for money and dont expect much
- Wilson (8/5): Room is small, if you're big, may not be comfort - Hotel staff was very friendly. Room is small, if you're big may find the room too small for you
- Liew (6/5): Overall just okay - Location is very good.Water heater in the toilet was bad, need to improve.
- Faith (8/5): Nice hotel, but a little bit confusing location - The hotel was ok for the price. The female staff was really friendly.
- sara (10/5): - Good location, nice place to stay in, comfortable, will come back again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Best for budget travellers - Clean room with 4 star hotel amenities but hostel price, friendly and helpful staff.
- sharon (8/5): Nice and clean hotel - we check in in late night around 10pm plus.
The night shift staff is unfriendly when we stand at the reception he did't ask anything. he just throw a paper show how much per night. i was angry and told him. we already book the room. He is confuse dunno which room is under us.
I like the morning shift staff she is friendly and helpfully.
And she always give us a beautiful smile when we pass by her.
- Jasmine (8/5): Great place! - Location - Right in the heart of Pratunam. Pratunum morning market is just around the corner, and in the morning there are many yummy food stores/carts just outside Cloud 9 lodge, along the street of soi 19. Platinum mall is only a few minutes walk away, and if you walk down to soi 15, there's a couple of massage places. If you can't find the place, look for Benz House, it's just beside it.
Room - The room was small and windowless. If available, you should request for a room with a window. The aircon was leaking a little and we told the reception, they got a technician to fix it the next day. I like that there is hot water available for shower. Toothbrush and soap is also provided. There's a safe box in the room. Water dispenser located on every floor. Good wifi
Service - Friendly staff who can speak basic english. They can call a taxi for you to go to the airport for a reasonable price of 450. Breakfast is very basic, as we are not paying so much for the room, can't complain. At least they have breakfast. It is nice and simple.
Overall Cloud 9 lodge is good for travellers on a budget who do not want to stay in a hostel. And for those who want to shop at Pratunam, it is very convenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. The young lady at check in went out of her way to direct me to places in Bangkok. The breakfast was just OK and the same each day,but what can I say it was free.
- may (8/5): Good location - A lot street food and restaurant around the hotel. U wont get hungry even late night. Good place for shoppers
- Saeid (2/5): Terrible - Too Small room with lots of fly mosquito also it was end of along one way st too busy and noisy breakfast was terrible just receptions had very good treatment
- Jeffleo (6/5): Nice hotel with Budget hotel - Nice staff able to waiting for late check in, and good service..room very clean..when booking request room with window, they have given room with window..only not good is location hard to find..when first day reaching, find the hotel take 1 hour..
- Deepkiran (8/5): nice hotel according to the price. - we only wanted to keep our lugage as we had a flight at 3am and we had to leave hotel at 11:30 pm. but to my surprise and according to the budget the hotel was good. the staff at the reception were very nice and the best part the staff were good at speaking english.
- Jaselyn (10/5): - Stayed here twice, and will definitely book it again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small cosy hotel - It's not so easy to find as it's in a tiny small corner of a lane. But once you know the way, it's very convenient to the shopping area of Pratunam & Siam.
Overall it's a good choice for the price you pay.
- Michelle (2/5): BAD. LEAKING ROOM AND SMELLY DIRTY TOILET. - Extremely bad service by the service receptionist Jame. We were demanded by the service crew on site rudely to clean up the waiting area for a "brown stain" that wasn't from us.
The room leaked when it poured at 0530 am during our 2nd night at Cloud9, we called the reception and was told that we can only know if we can switch a room tomorrow morning because the hotel is FULLY BOOKED the next day.
The sewage gives off a bad odor every morning, bad piping or something. The toilet has bad black stains, best to wear slippers for shower as not sure if it will cause anything.
Bed was stiff and the room was tiny.
We cancelled our stay, and shifted to another hotel nearby on the same morning we were told rudely that the hotel was full and that we have to clean a stain which wasn't caused by us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A bit tough to find at first but room is convenient, clean w all the essentials. A/C and secured entrance/elevator.
- Julianti (8/5): - we book 2 couple rooms here, great stay here, but the room is abit small.. there is no space to sit for 4 ppl, even on the floor... it just fix fot the lugguage
- Nicholas (8/5): Convenient Hotel which is near to Pratunam Market - Convenient Hotel which is near to Pratunam Market, Good Front Desk agent.
- Lim (6/5): - Breakfast almost same
- Lynnda (8/5): Good buy, will stay again at my next visit - the counter staff at Cloud Nine Lodge was very helpful and friendly, they are able to answer my where about question. Location was convenient.
- Verified traveler (8/5): V near by wholesales market only 5 min walk .. - Room cleaneses.. hv refil water .. breakfast only provide bread , jam, egg ... porridge..
place v near by wholesales market , 10 min walk to pratinum..
- natleong (6/5): Close to platinum mall and shops - A little difficult to find- once you spot benz hotel then no problem. Everything within easy reach from here. Secure because you need a key card to enter and get to your floor.
- Tin (6/5): hotel is hard to find - Room is great but the hotel is hard to find. the location is great, close to platinum fashion mall, pratunam market and airport link. i hope the staff can be more accommodating. the breakfast was bad.
- Wenjun (8/5): Comfortable Single Room Stay - The receptionists were friendly and helpful, able to communicate in fluent English. The room is spacious for single stay. There's water dispenser at the corridor in every level. Washing Machine and Dryer at level 2, for 20baht (10baht token x2, detergent is at additional charges. The instructions is a little confusing, so just get help from the receptionist). Breakfast options are simple -bread, porridge, toast, cereal and a variety of drinks. Good location!! right smack in the middle of prantu nam market, 3 mins walk to plantinum fashion mall (2 mins to Sabx2 wanton mee)
getting there can be a little difficult, the streets are narrow and most cab does not know the hotel. Tip: zoom into google map, and show the area and soi to cab drivers. or you can just drop at Baiyoke Suite hotel, a min walk from there.
cons: water leakage from bathroom into the room might happen with prolong bathing time. room is definitely not sound proof -street noises and when neighbors enter in and out of the room. thus, not suitable for light sleeper.
- Thiam Beng (8/5): Convenient location at a economical price - Be prepared as room & toilet space is small but satisfied that room is clean. Hotel is hidden from sight but was able to locate with other reviewers direction. But once u do, u find yourself staying close to many places in Pratunam.
- Doreen (8/5): Nice hotel with good location - Simple breakfast but all staff very helpful!
Good room at No. 711 though small budget room loh
- Franky (8/5): Good & affordable - It was a pleasant experience, staff service was good.
- Joyce (4/5): A Private Double-bed Room - Hotel is really in a tiny alley (hard to locate and taxi unable to drop off passengers & also get stuck in the congested alleys for 30-45mins (in & out) thus they'll charge more).
Provide guests a detailed guide on how to get to hotel, including instructions for taxi drivers (in Thai).
Windows installed in rooms but no daylight as buildings are too near each other.
Room is small with limited space to walk or open your luggage, had to open them up on the bed.
Room is dim & damp, toilet + room smells of sewage.
I believe hotel tried their best to musk it by overdosing with mothballs.
I'm quite sensitive to smell so I could not eat /drink anything when in the room.
I went to buy air freshener immediately as I could not book another available hotels on 1 of the nights.
Suggestion: Try solving root of the problem, or look for better air fresheners option. Brighter wall colours might help.
Sound insulation between rooms are bad, doors close and lock very loudly even when we make conscious attempt to do it softly.
Suggestions: Try installing some door stopper / sound insulation to the doors or lock. If not, provide some ear plugs for the guests to use.
Wi-fi was ok. Space in the bathroom was enough, water pressure & temperature was fine.
Overall, if the price is cheaper -works for a basic budget stay for 1-2 nights to shop, but by adding a little more & a few more minutes walk, you could get yourself into a newer & higher standard boutique hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget hotel near Pratunam market - Worth for the price, small room, good location, simple breakfast, self service washing machine and dryer. Hair dryer and adapter provided if requested.
- jaime (8/5): Location - The location of this hotel is abit hard to find out. Its is nearby the Benz house or first house hotel. Overall is good. and the staffs are nice and willing to help. But the breakfast quite simple. If can, please add something new. Will recommend to friends and come again..
- Ping (8/5): Nice hotel near to Pratunam - Pro:
- Pratunam Market and Platinum Mall are just minutes away.
- The hotel staff are very friendly and can speak English fluently.
- The hotel room are clean.
- Breakfast provided, although the variety are quite less.
Cons:
- The room is too small. There's no enough space for us to open our luggage.
- susan (6/5): Budgeted hotel but the room is small. - The location of the hotel is behind a night market, its only 2 minute walk. But not easy to find at first time visit. The room is clean and too small. It will be difficult to placed two luggage.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay, ok location - Everything about this place is good except for the location. At night you'll have to make a big round about to reach the hotel due to some gates blocking the way. Other than that the hotel is awesome. Will still recommend.
- ck (6/5): No frill - Difficult to locate as it is hidden. Need to walk up to benz house hotel (back entrance) before you can spot it. Easier to go by walking on the main road (opposite platinum, watergate hotel side). Turn right into the lane after Starbucks. you will see Soi19 wanton mee and first house hotel along the way. Walk pass first house hotel right to the end where you will see benz house hotel on your right (inside an alley). Walk into the alley and you should be able to see cloud9 signage on your right.
Clean but small room. Problem with drainage. Overall is a nice hotel.
- Jason (4/5): - Beakfast at hotel is too simple.the hotel is very difficult to locate.no taxi driver know the location as it is in the dead end narrow road
- Wong (4/5): - The hotel is almost impossible to locate as it is hide at the backstreet
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable hotel, great budget and friendly staff - Even though we had to walk a distance to the hotel, we enjoyed the stay very much. The staff is very friendly, hotel is very safe, and 24 hours manned. It is only 15 mins walking distance to the main malls in BKK. And is right smack within the Pratunam wholesale market. Sabsab wanton mee is also just a 2 min stroll away. Really enjoyed our stay here, and it is so affordable and comfortable!
- Daphne (10/5): Awesome accommodation in Pratunam - I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay in a single room for 4 nights. Staff were very accommodating and allowed me to check in (I contacted them earlier and made prior arrangements) earlier at 11am instead of the stipulated 2pm. Navigation to the hotel from Ratchaprarop airport rail link station was easy, even with a luggage, duffel bag and my handbag. Note that taxis in the vicinity charge per trip, tuktuks about 100B.
Room is well-equipped, with bath towel, floor mat, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste. Thermal flask and a glass are also provided. Unfortunately, the safe box didn't work for me, despite the staff trying to reset it. Room service is available daily, but I did not ask for it during my stay. Electricity can only be turned on by inserting the card key.
Continental breakfast is available at the in-house cafe from 7am to 10am daily. Laundry is available on L2 at 20B for washing and 30B for drying. Do note that detergent is not included, but you can easily get a small packet (5B) from the 7-11 down the street. There is only one washer and one dryer; washer takes 90mins, dryer 40mins.
Staff also kindly allowed me to take a shower in the hostel bathroom on L1 even after I checked out.
Attractions in Pratunam area can be reached by walking, but if you can't bear the heat, Ratchathewi BTS is about 10mins away. I found it perfectly safe returning close to midnight, since the 7-11 stores and Chinese tzechar stall (outside Shibuya 19) are still open.
- caesar (6/5): - I was travel alone so if you are alone and dont need a too large room, you can stay here. the room is clean, have hot water and free wifi inside room and also the staff are friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice hotel, but 12pm power cut off and no light at room : )
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Near to Pratunam market , easy to shopping
- Muhammad (8/5): Will definitely come again. - Overall experience is very good. Maybe because its kinda of a new hotel. Hopefully they can maintain the condition.
Cleaning needs to be more thorough as they did not do a good job at it. water pressure for shower is not consistent.
Staff is super friendly and approachable. Facilities is minimal which is good for solo traveller as the price is reasonable.
- Sue (10/5): Nice quiet corner of a busy city - The room was lovely and quiet, good water pressure, good aircon, and close enough to walk from two stations on the airport link train line. Surrounded by markets and more markets. Great area to wander around. I was a bit worried it would be difficult to find but once you get to the Benz Hotel, look right and you will see the entrance to Cloud 9. The room wasn't huge but more than enough room, I would definitely stay there on any future stays in Bangkok.
- Grace (6/5): Budget friendly choice for shopping purpose - New hotel with great location. Close to morning market on Baiyoke, many great street food around. Helpful and friendly staff.
Our room was too compact (room with -11 end), hard to move around. The clothes hanger should be relocated to another place as it's easily hurting people when getting out of bathroom.
