Robin (5/5): This property has great potential but it is in a state of disrepair. - The location was good for walking the Camino de Sonoma. Light sockets and light fixtures falling out of the wall. Faucet loose in bathroom. Expensive.
Gwenan (8/5): Good for a stop over on our trip - Comfortable stay at the Inn. We stayed in Sand Dollar - it's a small room but for a night stopover it was perfectly fine and clean. Just to be aware the walls between the room and the other room in the building are quite thin we could clearly hear everything being said. However having said that our neighbours were quiet overnight so didn't really impact.

Shanna (2/5): Gross, stinky, dirty, uncomfortable, overpriced, - The location is beautiful and I would like people to be able to comfortably stay here. The check in was really nice. Left directions and code. That was helpful. The towels were clean. The sheets were clean. The room was so dirty! It smelled like dog and dog urine. We rolled up the rugs and put them outside and then washed the floor to try to help the smell. It helped a little. There were stains on the back of the rugs that I assume was urine, but couldn’t bring myself to smell it up close. The floor was so dirty. I took pics of what we used to clean it. And we had been in the room 3 minutes so it wasn’t from us. The woman running it was nice, but we paid for a room, ate and drank there (all paid) and then when my son and daughter in law came in to use the bathroom near the restaurant, she was so rude to them. They tried to explain that we were just there and we ARE CUSTOMERS. She wouldn’t even listen and was pissed they weren’t buying anything. But we ALREADY BOUGHT A LOT OF THINGS. So, if you are going to shun people and be aggressive and rude to people for using the bathroom, you might want to be sure that they aren’t customers. She saw us when we checked in and they came in to the place to see us about 430 minutes before that, so it want like she had t seen them before. Why were we using the bathroom there and not in our room? Because we were showering and the bathroom was occupied. So we basically left the room cleaner than it was when we got there. It was still so stinky. This is something that is hard to explain. So gross, I couldn’t sleep because of the smell. Had to cover my nose with a shirt. I see it is for sale. I hope someone takes it over and cleans it up. It really is a cute place with a lot of potential.

Thomas (3/5): We did not enjoy our anniversary there. - nothing was very good, the first room had 35 steps to access the cabin. the view was of the estuary not the ocean. The staff was vary nice. there was not enough blankets on the bed. The space heater and the fireplace did not keep the place warm. The whole facility needed care, It could be called Rustic. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Steven (10/5): Charming and Relaxing Get Away Place to Stay - The Fort Ross suite is really nice, Kitchen, dining area, living room with large view widow and small enclosed private deck. access was easy and the restaurant was steps away from the room. All the staff at the Jenner in and restaurant were wonderful, friendly and helpful, you really could not expect more. To be honest there was nothing that could have been better.

The room was cramped for cost with missing T.V. and pet fee excessive for small non-shedding dog. No food available in evening around area. Property is for sale and property felt that way!

H (8/5): Lovely spot, not much support for the food options. - Beautiful place, very convenient. There was no guidance about food, but it turned out that there were lots of places near by. The view was great. I would have liked the restaurant to have a restaurant open for dinner or at least more information about where one could eat at dinner time, when much including the hotel office was closed.

Frank (10/5): Nice place to stay in Janner. - This is great place at the mouth of the Russian river. Quiet place from the city to relax. I had a very good night sleep in the very comfortable beds. This is nice place to stay if you going between Point Arena to Occidental. I would highly recommend this place.

Christine (6/5): - I was actually greatly disappointed by the accommodations, mainly because they were not at all what was pictured for the room when we booked it. We stayed in the Kayaker, which was pretty good for accessibility, but the pictures online upon booking were not what we had. The two beds were in one space, not separate rooms and the pictures suggested, and the "patio" did not overlook anything and was definitely not a balcony. In fact the only "view" was of Hwy 1 (with the noise of traffic included.) Lastly it was gravely important that we had working Wifi as we were waiting on an important call from my mother's doctor and on checking in we were told that the WiFi was spotty at best. We had to drive 20 minutes down the road before we received the voicemail from the missed call. All that being said, if the room and Wifi were represented honestly from the start it would have been a lovely vacation spot with the exception of the noise. The room showed its age a bit, but was actually like a small lovely cabin. We also loved walking around the property where they have a beautiful clearing with statues, gazebo and a stream, plus gorgeous rock formations and vegetation. The innkeepers were also very helpful and lovely, though sadly we had to leave a day early because of the lack of Wifi for medical reasons. It seemed like they were in the process of renovations for the whole property (as we heard and saw them working on the main building) so I believe it is worth trying again.

Mackenzie (8/5): Great place and lovely location - The property is very cute and the location is amazing. I really like their light breakfast items they have in the main hotel area, that was a nice perk to have with no kitchen in our room!
Verified traveler (8/5): Everything was wonderful except... - We had a great stay, but the bed was uncomfortable (we could feel the springs) and the sound from the neighboring room was loud. However, the staff was super helpful and accommodating, the views were fabulous, and we appreciated the coffee and fridge in the room. We would stay there again, but it would be great if they got new beds!

Connie (1/5): We will not be back - Walked into the room and the views were amazing and it was huge with all windows. So excited except there was a slight septic smell when we arrived so we unpacked and opened the windows and headed out to explore and go to Dinner. I was excited to find this place and thought I can’t wait to keep coming back. Thought by opening the windows the smell would leave by the time we come back. After exploring we came back to room and the septic smell got extremely worse a 10 out of 10. In order to sleep we had put pillows over our heads as it was so bad and it was a rough night. Ended up getting up at 6 am because of the smell and then headed to office by 7:50 am thinking it would be open with coffee. Waited till 8:15 and still nobody so we headed back to room and packed up our stuff to leave. It was definitely not our plan to leave before checkout but the smell was so bad. It was such a nice room and I was so looking forward to this overnight getaway. Went back to office and someone showed up at 8:45 and when letting him know he said he would let Innkeeper know and he was not helpful. Later we found out he was the manager/owner

Michael (3/5): Poor - Good location. But the room is directly on hw1 was expecting more for this price off season. Room was very cold with a small heater that took 2 hours to get the room from 58F to 68F totaly not what you expect at the end of a day.

Barr (7/5): Simple romantic Coastal inn - The view of the water and community was beautiful. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. Age of the building is noticeable. There's a lot of wear and tear, including sliding door out to the patio. Lot of wood repairs on the patio.

Annetta (7/5): Nice little cabin - Super comfortable bed and great location. The tree House cottage is a nice private little cabin with kitchenette and a balcony. It was a little bit cold in January because the only heat is a gas fireplace that does not have a fan. The bathroom was very cold come morning. A couple of pieces of silverware would be nice as well.

Renanda (5/5): It saved us from traveling the curvy road at dark. Staff was friendly - It was dark and roads were curvy so we stopped here. The heat did not work and we had to use the electric heater. It took a while to heat up. Then had to move it into bathroom to warm it up to take a shower. 😟

Leanda (8/5): Peaceful and comfortable stay with the most amazing view and setting. - Snacks available at the reception in the morning were a nice touch. The view from our room was beautiful. Wildlife on the doorstep was breathtaking. We stayed in the baby seal room. If we return we’ll book a room on the front so we have a bigger view over the river. Tea bags in the room! We didn’t know we could park outside the building when we arrived and it was dark so we had to walk up to the lodge with the cases in the dark..not a problem really but missed face to face contact as we were late arriving and didn’t know. Our fault really. But really was a wonderful stay.
