Guest Reviews
- Patricia (8/5): Fabulous stay. - I was looked after so well and made to feel very welcome. Breakfast pancakes and yoghurt were exceptional Not having a lock on my door
- Christine (9/5): Lovely B&B close enough to the BDL airport! - Our stay was great! We got in late and came from the Airport and the owner was able to accommodate us. The breakfast was tasty, the landscaping and ambiance lovely for the fall, and our host was very personable. The bed could have been a tad more comfortable, but overall we loved the stay.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - My wife and I stayed here near the tail end of our New England trip. Wayne and Kim were spectacular hosts. Breakfast was delicious and the house and area have a lot of charm and history. Highly recommend! Really enjoyed hearing some good stories as well.
- Cody (10/5): Friendly - Wayne and Kim were awesome hosts. They made a homemade breakfast for us with blueberry pancakes and sausage with yogurt to start off. Wayne gave great stories in the mornings while you enjoyed breakfast. They made sure we felt welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again when we go back.
- Narciso (10/5): -
- Thomas (10/5): - Wayne and Kim were very accommodating and very personable to talk to. The breakfast was yummy (especially the Cabot Greek yogurt), and the house is quaint and quiet. I would come back again and easily recommend this bed and breakfast to friends and family.
- Susanne (10/5): Topnotch B & B accommodations in Granby, CT. - My sister and I had a wonderful stay at the Truman Gillet House B & B. Our spacious room (with queen bed and trundle bed) consisted of a seating area and full ensuite with shower/jacuzzi tub with double sinks. A small refrigerator and microwave were also provided. Bed was extremely comfortable and room had great temperature control. Quiet area with private parking. Delicious full breakfast served. The host and hostess were lovely and most accommodating. We would definitely return! Nothing to dislike or improve.
- Edith (4/5): It was close to where I needed to be but I would not return unless I was offered the only other room which was much bigg - The property is in a good location but it was not a convenient stay in the room that I was staying in. Make sure that you clearly understand the check-in time. I arrived late and this angered the owners. The bathroom is not connected to the room, which was very inconvenient. There was no tv in my room, this was so uncomfortable and inconvenient for me. Mount a small tv, there is room on the wall directly in front of the bed. Finally, the bathroom sink was not draining properly; however, when I asked that they fix the sink it was done.
- Ryan (6/5): - Staff was kind enough to offer space for me before and after regular timing.
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - The decor was fantastic, the CT room was exceptional! Tastefully decorated, very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the large jetted tub. Romantic vibes. N/A
- Sofie (10/5): - Wayne and Kim were wonderful hosts! We arrived by bicycle, and Wayne was kind enough to store our bikes in the garage overnight. The room was great, and breakfast was delicious!
- Lynn (10/5): - It was a lovely stay overnight with a delicious homemade breakfast. Very clean and hosts were so nice.
- Matthew (10/5): - Great hosts, beautiful home. Fabulous breakfast.
- Robert (10/5): Wayne is an interesting guy, and was a cordial host. The stay was a pleasure. - Breakfast was great, with fresh blueberry pancakes, real maple syrup, and sausages. Good coffee as well!
I had been a little afraid that there might not be enough room to park my car and motorcycle trailer, but that was no issue at all. And it is in a very beautiful part of Connecticut. No issues at all.
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were wonderful. We were spoiled and pampered with a delicious breakfast each morning. Relaxing ambiance. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Maureen (10/5): - It is a very charming place. I would recommend it.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb - Clean and pleasant room and bath, private sitting area.
- William (10/5): Wonderful BnB experience! - Wonderful!! Lovely decor, the owners are very gracious, great food and service! Would definitely like to stay again and recommend to anyone staying in the area.
- Michele (10/5): - The hosts were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The suite was lovely and the jetted tub perfect for soaking and relaxation. And the price was reasonable. Breakfast was delicious and they accommodated our dietary needs very carefully. Highly recommended B & B!
- Benito (10/5): - This B&B was very quiet, comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the interaction with Wayne and Kim. Great place to get away and relax. Very accommodating!
- Joanne (8/5): - owners were very nice. It was a cozy pleasant place to stay. Breakfast was excellent.
- Alexandra (10/5): Would stay again! - This B&B was exactly what we were looking for when planning our trip. We stayed in the smaller room, but still had our own bathroom and sitting area. The place was warm and homey. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were delightful.
- Catharina (10/5): - We arrived with little notice but were welcomed anyway and had a great stay with a delicious breakfast.
- Jeff (8/5): Very good -
- Nicholas (10/5): - Granby is extremely relaxing and beautiful in the autumn. Great homemade delicacies close by; hand-crafted furniture down the street. The facilities and hosts were very accommodating.
- Don (10/5): - This was a cozy, convenient stop for us. We had a suite, which was large and well decorated. It was so quiet in the suite and we loved the rich fall colors and red barn setting. The coffee, fresh fruit and fresh blueberry pancakes were delicious and plentiful. The proprietors Kim and Wayne were great hosts, and we loved listening to their stories.
- David (10/5): - The property was clean and comfortable.
- Pschriver (4/5): So so B&B - The house was lovely. The room was tiny. Breakfast was disappointing. No variety, and limited portions.
- Lawrence (10/5): - This B&B was very quaint and comfortable w a lovely old fashion decour - yet it had all the mod coms you'd want. The jacuzzi was a great bonus! Very helpful service and delicious breakfast. We would consider returning, if in the area.
- Katherine (9/5): Superb -
- Phebe (10/5): - Truman Gillet House met our needs. Close to the airport and all our travels in the area, while enjoying the comforts of a home. Breakfast was delicious! Wayne and Kim recommended some nice hikes near by also.
- Brooke (10/5): Felt like being at home - This was such a nice stay. It was my fiancée and i’s first time staying at a bed and breakfast and our hosts made us feel at home! N/a
- Ryan (10/5): It was a nice immersion on a historical property to provide a becoming experience of hospitality. - I enjoyed the breakfast. It sounds like the staff go out of their way to create a new experience each morning for their patrons and I appreciate that. They had in mind creating different meals each day and that speaks volume to the hospitality. Our bedroom size was homely. I was leery of the bathroom being separate from the guest room but that's because I am self-conscious and did not want to make a lot of noise and upset the neighbors. I don't know if I did but regardless it was a nice room and accommodations.
- Ron (9/5): Weekend in Granby, CT - The bed was extremely comfortable, we both slept great! The breakfasts were excellent! It was located very near restaurants, and hiking. Wayne and Kim were very attentive, kind and helpful! We met some really nice people also staying there and enjoyed the breakfast conversations. Really enjoyed our stay :) Nothing, it was great!
- Patsy (10/5): - Having breakfast made for me every morning was wonderful. The dining room was set with beautiful dishes. I enjoyed the company of two other quest, as well as the owners. My room was very spacious and comfortable.
The town was quaint and very peaceful. I would definitely recommend visiting.
- Jane (10/5): - Lovely property in quiet town, with quick access to Bradley. Complete breakfast, hosts are friendly and accommodating. Way better than the big hotels. There were options for dining out but my stay was a quick overnight.
- Marietta (9/5): A good experience and very pleasant. - The owners were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was wonderful! The bed could have been more comfortable.
- Ivy (6/5): Biggest drawback was the overhearing disagreements between wife and husband owners. - It was a pretty location & neat & tidy Bit noisy with traffic.
- Christian (10/5): - Friendly innkeeper…variety in breakfasts….convenient location….Wayne was great resource for places to see, eat and enjoy.
- Crystal (10/5): Very cute B&B - We had a wonderful stay with Kim & Wayne while passing through Connecticut. The larger room was very nice & spacious and the breakfast was great! We will certainly stay again next time we're passing thru...
- Gerald (10/5): - Wayne and Kim have a wonderful property. On arrival I was told I was being upgraded at no charge. What a wonderful room, comfortable bed. Big cushy pillows. The breakfasts were very good. Overall I was ecstatic at the service provided and value. Would return again, no hesitation at all!
- Thomas (8/5): Nice place. good hosts, and the best value in the area. - Breakfast was well prepared and tasty. The hosts were accommodating to our timely needs. We were upgraded to a nicer room do to a last minute schedule conflict with the owners. There was no extra charge and the room was pleasant. The only issue (albeit a small one) was that the tv in the room had a preset max volume. This is understandable as not wanting to disturb others, but we felt the volume was set to low making it a tad difficult to hear.
- Colleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bobbi (10/5): Great stay in a nice B&B! - Our stay was perfect for our weekend visiting our son in Westfield. Wayne and Kim are wonderful hosts. I enjoyed meeting the other guests during breakfast. We had wild blueberry pancakes and they were delicious! Nothing that I can think of.
- Gail (8/5): Very good - Convenient to where we needed to be.
- Klingbeil (10/5): Perfect Connecticut b&b experience - My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay! We had everything we needed, the interior is exactly what I'd hoped for, easy check in, delicious breakfast, very cute dog, and last but not least kind, helpful and friendly hosts with whom we had interesting conversations with. Thank you and we hope to be back in the future!
- John (10/5): Great first stay on our trip - Wayne and Kim are excellent hosts. Their home is beautifully appointed and well maintained. It is obvious they care a great deal about providing quality services.
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - Small B&B with a character. Very nice and clean. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.
- Rita (8/5): Very good -
- Fabrice (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great
- Rebecca (8/5): - The stay was amazing, great staff, delicious food, and close to all the things we wanted to do
- David (9/5): Weather and place was great. Relaxing unique comforting. Book collection great as well - Pancakes were amazing. Room very clean. Everything was perfect. Maybe extend spa time to 10:30 pm kidding
- Leanne (9/5): Superb -
- Wichtermann (9/5): In summary, the proerty is a special place and very accommodating to its visitors. - Very interesting historicial property and lovely yard. The location was perfect for our destination: O'Brien's nursery.
The food (breakfast) was delicious and prepared on site. The owner's were very accommodating and available. My husband is blind and had some difficulty navigation smaller bedroom size. But most areas were not a problem.
- patricia (10/5): Quaint Clean B&B - A very cute B&B. Kim and Wayne were great hosts. Very clean with a big modern bathroom. Great breakfast.
- Gabrielle (9/5): Superb - The house was built in 1805. I loved the vibe. Very cozy. I will stay again. Kim and Wayne was very accommodating. Thank you!!!
- Rosemary (10/5): Charming property in a quiet rural setting. Highly recommend. - The breakfast was good and the hosts made every effort to adapt to people's likes and dislikes. I could not find fault with this charming B&B.
- Kaio (10/5): Great homebase for driving around the area visiting different attractions. - Very friendly and accommodating hosts that take pride in their property, the neighborhood and the service they provide. Amazing breakfast. The entire place is very clean and organized, and you're just a few miles away from historic attractions and larger cities. The mattress on our bed is starting to give in a little at the middle, so we were kind of pulled towards the center of the bed and ended up bumping into each other during the night. Nonetheless, this is just a minor complaint. Would stay here again anyway. :)
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional - Wayne and Kim are excellent hosts!
- Rose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fanny (10/5): Exceptional - everything, from the breakfast to the good conversation with the very kind hosts. I felt right at home
- Doug (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (9/5): Superb - Bed was very good
- Denise (8/5): - This property has an interesting history. This area of Connecticut is quite lovely.
- John (9/5): Peaceful stay - The location was close to fine dining, Mr. Wayne and his wife Kim were excellent hosts, the house is beautiful and the bed was comfy. The pillows were perfect! It is close to the road, however once you are in your room the noise diminishes so it's not bad at all.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good for the price. - Clean, nice bed, linens and towels. Good breakfast and hosts. The room was close to the street so was a bit noisy. They had a fan which helped with noise.
- Janet E. (10/5): - Great accommodations and hosts.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room, comfy bed, yummy breakfast, great location. Would stay again! n/a

- Shamari (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (10/5): My stay was enjoyable in every way and I can't wait to return. - The Truman Gillett House is nicely decorated and all of the furniture is comfortable and in perfect condition. The common areas, bedrooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. The breakfast is very good, with the hosts checking on your preferences in advance. I had a last minute special food request, and hosts were very accommodating. The location is great and the House is easy to see from the street. The hosts provide enjoyable company and you feel like family while you are there! There is nothing I would change. I wish I was able to stay longer than two nights.
- Chelsea (8/5): - Very beautiful property and very well kept.
- Kurt (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent value, friendly hosts, immaculate room. A beautiful historic home.
- Inis (8/5): Comfortable and Inviting - This is a very nice, clean, comfortable, inviting B&B. Wayne and his wife love sharing the details about the property and town where they have lived for many years. The breakfast is nice and the scrambled eggs were very fluffy! We were the only guests the night we stayed so it was quiet and private even with the shared bath. It would be nice to have access to coffee/tea and cold drinks at our leisure and fruit or a snack.
- Joseph (9/5): I'm a repeat guest, and will look forward to futue stays. - Very nice and accommodating owners, excellent breakfast, and unbeatable value for what is provided. Great location for biking northern portions of the Farmington Canal Trail, and into Massachusetts. For the value, I couldn't really expect anything more.
- Bethany (9/5): Superb -
- Ashley (10/5): - Stayed for 2 nights to attend the Southwick National races. We brought our 2 young children and I was thankful for the quietness, the yummy breakfast and the kids enjoyed the little pup who lived there. Would recommend and go again if we are in the area in the future.

Our room was more than adequate! It was absolutely lovely! Mini fridge, microwave, whirlpool bathtub, all included!
