Guest Reviews
- Deborah (10/5): - Lovely clean room. Nice kitchen area with drinks machine , fridge, microwave and complimentary pastries.
Good base for our visit
- Jonathan (10/5): - Very convenient. Great place to stay for the night. The bed was a bit too soft.
- Susan (10/5): Great stay - Great find. A very reasonably priced guest house. Easy and private access to the guest bedrooms using a code key. The bedroom and separate private bathroom were lovely and clean and very light and airy. I’ve got to say the bedding felt beautiful. Breakfast was basic but was included in the price we paid. A croissant and jam or marmalade which was left for us in the room. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were also provided and replaced as necessary. There was also a little outdoor seating space which was very nice to use on a sunny evening. Plenty of information was provided about bus routes and the surrounding areas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great value and very clean guest house. It was ideal for what we needed which was a base to visit a relative. Only thing negative was that we requested soya milk along with the standard dairy milk and it was not provided. Apart from that, everything was great.
- Hilary (10/5): Clean and comfortable b&b - Comfortable and clean room and good large bathroom with lots of hot water. Responsive and friendly communication with the owners re arrival arrangements.
- Sam (10/5): - Really comfy beds with great facilities / bathroom and convenient continental breakfast
- Pat (4/5): - The property was very outdated . The outdoor area was very dirty and neglected . Would not return
- Sam (10/5): - Comfortable and spacious.
Easy check in / out
- Charles (6/5): - Spent about a couple of minutes in the freezing wind before a gentle man came and gave me access to the property. The WiFi username pasted on the door was not showing up and the password obviously was useless. Please make sure you sort yourself out before going into your room because you may never get to see anyone if you get stuck.
- Chris (10/5): Great location - The room was clean and tidy. All the facilities in the room worked and the hosts where friendly.
I give it 10/10 my only small negative was the 4pm check in was a little late for us. Would stay again 100%.
- Stephen (8/5): - The double bed mattress in Windermere room has lost its spring tension and I felt myself almost rolling out of bed
- Scott (10/5): Way nicer than the price suggests - The quality of stay does not reflect the low price, I nearly didn't book to stay here because the room was so cheap but it was fantastic. The owners were very welcoming, it was clean, comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The location made here an ideal base for my work in Barrow, will definitely stay here again.
- Cheryl (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Fantastic overnight stay with my son, the owners were friendly and welcoming and the B&B was immaculate and very comfortable. Top notch breakfast in the morning and a great location for the safari zoo. We will definitely be back
- Rhodrick (8/5): - Sophie our host was lovely, very cheerful and gave us lots of insight in terms of what to do in the area. The breakfast was lovely, facilities were generally clean but the area is a bit noisy as it is adjacent to the road
- Pritesh (10/5): - Over all a great night stay. Clean. Tidy. Lovely service and helpful. My only slight feedback would be the bed was quite hard (but that’s down to personal preference) and it would be great alongside the shampoo and conditioner if there was shower gel. But these are minor things, had a lovely stay and will be booking again for sure.
- Andrew (10/5): - The property was easy to find, good parking, secure easy access into the building and our room. The room was nicely decorated and furnished. With the en suite bathroom, we had views from both sides of the building and a nice breeze from the open windows. The en suite was spacious, clean and nice to be in, with plenty of hot water and towels.
We had a nice cooked breakfast in the open plan kitchen and dinning room and greatly enjoyed chatting with our young host couple.
- Michael (8/5): Nice guest house - Lovely guest house friendly and good value for money
Excellent breakfast well organised
- Sharon (10/5): Fantastic - Lee and Sophie were very welcoming and nothing a trouble. Breakfast was fabulous complements to chef. Gave suggestions of where to go for food and visit. Hope you both manage your last eight wainwrights walks. Room was excellant and roomy.
- IAN (10/5): - Fantastic hosts, comfy room, tasty Breakfast and only a 5 min drive to the Zoo
- Brian (10/5): - Would definitely recommend staying here,Extremely comfortable bed,immaculate
spacious rooms, great breakfast and very friendly hosts.
Will definitely stay again.
- Peter (10/5): - A brilliant find! Lovely room with plenty of space. Really comfortable and just a great experience. Luke and Sophie were so lovely and welcoming and breakfast was excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Hosts - The Covid measures were in place throughout. The room was comfortable. Our only criticism would be of the very small shower in a large bathroom. I am sure Covid has put financial stresses which have not allowed improvements. A bath and walk in shower would be amazing in that space.
The hosts are really welcoming and helpful.
The breakfast is delicious, well cooked with no fat or grease on the plate.
Overall a fabulous stay, thank you.
- Julie (8/5): - The room was really clean and decorated and furnished beautifully. Sophie was very attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The beds were very comfortable and there was a lovely ensuite.
The only issue was the noise from the traffic on the road.
- Suzanne (10/5): Lakes - Lovely couple. Very welcoming. Very nice bedroom. Great breakfast.
- Ann (10/5): Absolutely gorgeous place to stay - We stayed 2 nights as it is so convenient for a visit to the Safari Zoo. Our room was immaculate and the bed was so comfy. The young couple could not have been more helpful. Very pleasant without being over bearing. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and very well cooked. The chinese takeaway we had was nice and plates and cutlery were provided by Sophie if needed. All in all a very clean and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be staying again. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely Guesthouse with great Breakfast - Brilliant stay. Fluid check in. Breakfast was superb and included in the more than reasonable price.
Great location for a variety of activities. Extremely covid safe. The owners are lovely
- ben (8/5): - Nice Clean room. Good value. Hosts very helpful
- Ian (10/5): - The room itself is spacious enough for four of us it is very clean has comfy beds, off road parking but we never had a problem and breakfast was so good its what we needed to start our day of walking! Luke &Sophie are amazing they’re such a lovely couple! Very friendly and helpful ..we feel vert relaxed and homey( with the same theme us mine gray & yellow !! Definitely recommend it!!
- Hayley (10/5): - Room was clean and had everything we needed. We felt very covid safe. B&B in a great location central to local attractions, beach and safari zoo a 5 minute drive away. Breakfast was lovely and our vegan diets were accommodated really well. Owners were friendly and knowledgeable about places to eat and places to go nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

- Beauty (10/5): little family trip - We booked Number 19 as we were making a trip to the zoo for our daughter’s first birthday. Quick and easy check in. Lovely hosts and great location. Choice of breakfast, we both opted for the full English which was really good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service from the owners and the breakfast was excellent.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely guesthouse and excellent service from the hosts.
Room was spacious and cosy and clean.
Breakfast was really tasty and the full English provided really set us up for the day.
Luke and Sophie made us feel very welcome.
Highly recommended!
- Lincoln (8/5): One night stay - The Duvet was a bit small for the bed and I didn't sleep very well for some reason, not sure why.
Otherwise the couple running the B&B were very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was OK for the price and I would stay there again.
- Rebecca (10/5): Brilliant stay! - Fantastic hosts! Brilliant breakfast! Great location for exploring the Lake District.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- jan (10/5): Happy holiday :) - We had a great stay at Number 19, the owners were more than helpful and the whole place was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and really set us up for the rest of the day! We will be back :)

Good value for money. Great location and lovely friendly and helpful staff.

- Carol (10/5): Perfect getaway - Perfect place for a short stay. Hosts were very welcoming. Best breakfast we have ever had. Would definitely stay there again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely b&b - Great b&b, we were made to feel very welcome. Rooms were modern and well decorated. Lovely breakfast and accommodated for our 3 year old making her something different.
Exterior could do with re painting but don't let that put you off. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area
- Brian (6/5): - Thanks to hotel.com I booked b and b or I thought I had only to told when I arrived no breakfast was included ,this was due to hotel .com giving the wrong information on there web site
- suzie (10/5): Great location for visiting south lakes zoo - Clean, comfortable and welcoming. The children had never stayed in a B&B before and loved it.
5 minutes from the zoo so great place to rest tired legs.
Friendly service, would confidently recommend.
- Christine (10/5): No 19 Guesthouse - It was one of the best b&b’s I have ever stayed in. Everything you needed was provided and the room was lovely very contemporary in its decor. The female owner name was I think Sophie (sorry if I have that wrong) and she was,a lovely warm friendl host even giving me slimming world recipies when I said I’d just started the diet. Overall a lovely place to stay and would definitely stay again.
- Ellen (10/5): Great value and location. - My daughter and I stayed at Number 19 Guesthouse for two nights, October 6 & 7, 2017. Our room was large, clean and quiet.
Sophie and Luke were excellent hosts and very helpful with great advice on the local area.
- Judith (8/5): Just for a night to stopover - A little far from Lake District. Host was welcoming and friendly. A pleasant stay. It will be better if shower gel or bath soap is provided.
- Andrew (10/5): - Sophie and Luke were great, breakfast very good. Would stay again. Every success.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A good night - For a budget B&B it was good. The room and bathroom were fairly basic but everything was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep.
- Susan (10/5): Nice place, friendly hosts and reasonably priced. - Luke and Sophie are lovely hosts, but not over bearing in so far as they are very helpful with what you want / need, but not intrusive. The rooms are spotless with everything you need, coffee, tea, milk, and lovely and warm. Really good wifi speeds, upto 38MB on a speedtest. There is also on street parking right outside and more than enough room for multiple cars. I have stayed 3 weeks in total and will be trying to book there again when I am next up. Breakfast is started at 7:30am, which unfortunately is a little late and I am not much of a morning 'eater', but I have been told that it is very nice. I was offered by Luke and Sophie to have cereals, etc to 'take away' if I wanted, which is a pleasant surprise.
- Geoff (10/5): 1 Night stay - Lovely guest house, Stayed over for a bereavement. Sophie and Luke were so kind and considerate. Great breakfast. Would definately stay again. Thank You
- Liz (10/5): - I'm a returning customer to No19 bed and breakfast and once again enjoyed my brief stay. I'm always made to feel welcome from the minute I arrive and the owners do a fantastic breakfast every day! It's a perfect base for the whole South Cumbria & Lake District. Will definitely be back again.
