Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My daughter's were eaten up by bedbugs. It was the worst place we have ever stayed. Only 1 towel and one washrag. No soap. Very run down and dirty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The owner was nice. The room was very small and musty smelling. During my bed bug inspection I found one mattress with a gooey substance and very stained, the other mattress was wet with a large yellow ring. People drinking and doing drugs outside our door. Do not go here!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They did not have us registered there after I personally called to make reservations and we had to find another place to stay 40 miles further and 3 times the amount.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we arrived we were told that expedia had not sent over our info and that we never should have been able to rent a room. They did not have a room for us and we had to go somewhere else. Terrible experience!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Was really trashy
- MC (2/5): - Poor room conditions. Couldnt find my reservation at check in.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - That was the dirtiest place I have ever srayed. Black hair on pillows. Sheets stained, not vacuumed. Very run down. I think you should remove this place as a choice.
- Carole (8/5): - Room was clean. Management very congenial and helpful. Restaurants close by. Only drawback was mattresses on beds too soft. Otherwise a very enjoyable experience.
- Joseph (2/5): Terrible place - This place is not one where you would want to stay. Even though we paid for the room we did not stay there after actually seeing and smelling the room. It was also very shabby.
We should have known it was poor when we checked in. The check in area is very small and the person who did the checking in was wearing just a sleeveless undershirt and sweatpants. In all my extensive travels over many, many years I have never seen anything like that for a front desk welcome!!! You certainly did not get the feeling that the place was safe and clean.
My wife of 60+ years said: "Is this the way you think of me and how I should be treated?" Enough said.

- Paul (8/5): Great for the price - In Town Inn was fine for the price. A bit older perhaps, but clean. Good bed and shower, little cafe and pub super close walking distance.
- Kevin (2/5): - On our arrival at 9pm we were greeted with..."oh, I am so sorry, there us a problem..." Never actually got to stay.
There were some maintenace issues, and three rooms were down; but they knew early enough that I should have gotten a call to let me know.
No plans to try it again.
- Ravi (10/5): - Extremely great hotel staff, we reached late at night, they offered a homemade food for us. Extremely hospitable. One room was not clean and ready, they called and requested us if they could offer a better room. It was like a home away from home .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Had reservations for 2 rooms and did not have them available. He made changes to get two rooms. They were not very clean, mold around tub, stunk
Ike smoke and pee. It was cheap but gross!!
- DAG (4/5): - Room appeared relatively clean but had an odor to it. Also appeared to have a recent sewer back up in the tub as evidenced by black residue. One night stay would be the max.
- Rick (4/5): Not Memorable on Memorial weekend. - I was on a solo vaca to visit my son, so no real plans and was winging it. I received a phone call on my 2 day wondering if I was still in the room. I was told that someone was coming into the room to do some minor work so I removed all of my belongings. They wanted to know if I was still in the room, I paid for 4 days upfront so it shouldn't of mattered if my things were in the room or not. Then I was asked if I needed room service I said yes and had they bothered to check the room as I left a towel on the floor they would have known that as well. I then didn't receive any room service for the next 2 days after that as well. With it being a holiday weekend some loudness was expected from other guests, but the drinking and general language was not a place for children, unless you want them to get an education on how roughneck crews live on the road.
- thomas (10/5): Not fancy but meets your needs. - While not fancy and outdated decor, the room served our needs just fine. (We just needed a place to sleep in the area.) The service was very friendly and eager to help in anyway needed. There was a small refrigerator and microwave in the room plus free WiFi. Parking was convenient as it was just outside our room and we found the pizza place across the street to have good pizza. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Have been there 3 times and would again. Is easy to get too. Rooms are clean.
- Steven (4/5): Not a great place - It was the only hotel in the area that had a room available. If I had been able to, I would have stayed anywhere else.
- Maricela (2/5): Rude & untrustworthy - The owner gave our rooms away because we didn't arrive by 6pm even though we gave a credit card to reserve the rooms. I even called to inform him that we need a late check in but he said too late. He was worried he would lose business if we didn't show up but he could've still charge us because he had my credit card & rooms were non refundable. Needless to say we had to cancel our vacation plans because other hotels were booked. Plus owner was very rude!!!
- Susan (8/5): - Went tubing for the weekend in Sterling. For the money you can't beat this place, they were friendly and the location is great for a awesome breakfast place and pizza and a few more steps is a bar with Michigan Craft beers in tap . You get what you pay for. Would I stay again? Yes I would.
