Guest Reviews
- Omar (6/5): Ring or call the host every you need to get in is really annoying! - Very good centric location. Didn’t have a private bathroom as promised, breakfast was very small and repetitive, hard to get in because the hostel is locked all the time and you need to ring or call the host every time.
- Veronique (9/5): A little place almost like home in Mexico City! - The location on the heart of Oaxaca Avenue.
The nearby banks and restaurants.
The breakfast made by Angel and his assistant 😍
The good value for money. It was all good.

- Syed Naveed Ahmed (8/5): - Location and staff No complaints
- Ryoko (9/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): Good value for the money, great host and breakfast! - Host was great, very personable and informative about the hostel and the area. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Beds were comfortable. Area was generally quiet. Easy in and out to property, and felt secure. Area is great, lots of restaurants and very close to Metro. Need more absorbent towels, and a shelf and hooks in bathrooms. Unlike some hostels, there was no free access to the kitchen or sitting area, having to ring for admission to those areas. Fan in bedroom didn't work for some reason.
- Benjamin (9/5): All good - Great location, breakfast included, good facilities The access is a bit more difficult than at other b&bs, you don’t get a key, you have to ring. But for us it worked fine
- Zev (8/5): It was a very nice experience overall, with kind and attentive owners. - I like that it’s close to public transportation and there’s breakfast every day. The owners are very nice. It’s also nice having our own room That we didn’t have access to certain things like kitchen utensils or napkins

- Jose Daniel (8/5): - Locación Check in
- Eber (3/5): -
- Raymond Gariépy (10/5): Everything went good. It’s clean, comfortable and the instructions are clear. The host was super friendly and helpful. -
- Gavin (2/5): Good location but would stay somewhere else - Location When we checked in, we were sent to the wrong room, and while we did eventually end up in the correct room (with 2x beds not 1x) we had already left the house and had to come back to deal with the situation.
The new room was filthy, our feet were black from walking around on the floor. There was garbage left from I guess whoever was in the room prior to us. The bed was not very great either, loads of stains + not very comfortable.
- Harsant (9/5): Comfortable, kind and easy. - Comfortable and good value for money. Close to many places. Kind hosts who helped us with the bus. Delecious breakfast. Couldn’t fault for little price.
- Leo (1/5): Horrible, had to leave the first morning. (Had booked 4 nights) - Nothing Checked in the Room at 6pm, then we were asked to change rooms at 10pm, cause the concierge had given us the wrong one. As we showed resistance due to the late hours, he threatened to call the cops if we didn’t comply. He gave us a « Suite » supposed to be better than the previous room (that was not good as well) which was in the basement with dead bugs everywhere on the floor, bed was broken, it was so cold and there was mold on the fridge due to humidity. We asked for a cancellation from de property because we had to go away from this hotel but they didn’t accept it. So we basically paid for an awful experience. We do not recommend it at all point.
- Gilsing (8/5): -
- LEONEL (10/5): Excellent place to stay if you are in a budget. Comfortable, no luxury you get what you paid. - Location. Staff. Lot of places to eat nearby. Street could be noisy.
- Tommaso (5/5): -
- Eric (1/5): - The location is not amazing, but it's okay. Aviod this place.
I booked for 2 people but arrived alone, immediately the owner started giving me a long list of rules.
I met my partner the 2nd night and we went to the hotel but the wouldn't open the door. Then owner then said my partner is not allowed in, no guests are allowed. I then said to him I booked for 2 people and he said that I had to fill in her details when I arrived and that it was written in the message he sent me. I then said I didn't read the message after I booked for 2 people. He said, I don't care, it's my hotel my rules. He was totally outrageous and ruthless with zero empathy. My partner had a family home close by and decided to go there. He has a serious ego issue. He was extremely unpleasant, aggressive and rude. The following day I also didn't go for breakfast as he is the one that cooks the breakfast too. It was very basic, just eggs and bread. I paid for 2 people but he didn't allow my partner to stay. It was absolutely outrageous.
-It's presented as a hotel but its treated as a family home with a long list of rules.
-You have no key for the building or for the floor and have to buzz and wait for them to answer.
-You are not allowed to throw toilet paper in the toilet, instead have to throw it in a bin. It's a shared bathroom and toilet, imagine what thats like.
-There is a metal barrier at the entrance that you have to step over to enter the building.
- The is uncomfortable and small for 2 people, it's like a small double bed or a large single bed.
It's one of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel. All the furniture looks and feels like its been bought from the $1 dollar store.
- Jolande (7/5): -
-no te hacen tu habitacion
-hace falta alguna plancha
- Ronald-60 (6/5): Good price but... - The accommodation is in a good location and the employee who was available around the clock was very nice. TV and beds were a good value for the price, bathroom was outside the room but still felt private and was clean. A particular disadvantage is that you don't get a key but always have to ring the bell, which sometimes involves longer waiting times. It is also not possible to go to the other floor without problems, for example to use the kitchen. Each floor always has to be opened separately by the employee. If they are busy, it can take a few minutes. Even if you come home late at night, there is a certain amount of unsafety involved because you may have to wait outside the door in the dark for another 3 minutes. It didn't really feel good to be so dependent on the staff just to get into the building or to move around inside the building. It made you feel somehow unfree and sometimes trapped (when you had to wait between the different floors to be let in). I would strongly advise the accommodation to provide keys/key cards/PIN codes.
Another big problem was the bank in the street, the last 2 nights of our stay, the alarm system sounded loudly and continuously in the room and made the nights an ordeal. Of course, this is not the accommodation's fault, but it is still a major drawback and reason enough not to come back again.
However, we were kindly given an alternative room on the last night, where the noise was less audible.
The breakfast is mainly convenience products and not fresh, it doesn't taste particularly good.
I am also sure that I left money in the room that was not given to me after I checked out. I can't prove it, but the communication about it was a bit frustrating.
In itself, the accommodation has a lot of potential that could be used by upgrading the communal areas and perhaps even the roof and by providing easier access with own keys for the guests.
- Bella (4/5): Average - Location, although it is by a noisy road so certainly not peaceful in morning and night Our sheet ripped, annoying getting into property, mismatched, no airflow and only one bathroom
- Morgan (10/5): Incredible location, clean and comfortable. - It’s clean, comfortable and well located. It’s basic but you get what you pay for and the facilities are good. The breakfast was yum and the host was lovely. I would suggest giving people staying a code, so they can come and go without needing to be buzzed in. There could still be a curfew after which you do need to be let in.
- Nuno (3/5): Poor - No key to front door. always having to ring
- Branko (7/5): Good -
- Dana (7/5): Good -
- Dana (8/5): Very good - Nice breakfast.
- Ourania-danielle (2/5): Definitelt not recommended it. - Just location and breakfast was ok I wasn’t gonna write a review but it was faulty advertised and I was really really disappointed. The bathroom was separate to the room and has no where to leave our toiletries. It wasn’t very clean either. We stayed for a week and they didn’t change our sheets which I was the most shocked about. After day 4 we asked for a change of towels. The room was super cold, no mirrors, no hooks and plugs weren’t working. Additionally, we didn’t have a key to open the door so we had to wake up the women who works there every time we got to the apartment which we felt so uncomfortable. When we asked the manager about the inconvenience about the key set up he answered us about security. it takes a long time to open the main door and as mentioned we had to wake up someone every time we got back.
- Reuben (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable room, great breakfast and a perfect location to explore Mexico City
- Lewis (8/5): An excellent stay with breakfast in Roma at great value - Such nice people, providing helpful information and recommendations on arrival. The breakfast was fantastic, different hot and cold food, with nice coffee served each day!
The location was great, in the heart of Roma Norte, so many good restaurants and bars in walk g distance. I also went running as it’s near Chapultepec park.
Nice large room, with all that you need for a short stay. The shower was also very good. You could easily hear others and the water seemed to run out quick.
Shared bathroom was ok, but toilet paper could be better stocked
- Bella (3/5): No, not for the faint hearted. - Breakfast was good The place looked scary! Not good for two senior women not exposed to unrefined hostels with dark narrow hallways. You enter the building and walk into a dark garage, then walk up a dark stairway to the hostel. No views. Can't throw toilet paper in the commode. It did not feel good being there. We paid for five nights but checked out after the first.
- Geraldine (10/5): Exceptional - I love the staff
- Anna (8/5): Very nice room in interesting area. - The price included in price - very tasty, but unfortunately, only in very limited hours (from 8:30 which is late if you plan trips)
The room standard - very nice.
Location - close to Zona Rosa - nice for visiting interesting clubs. Also close to Chapultepec Park. Many OXXO's around.
The accessibility of shared bathroom - very good. Hours of breakfast - too late, unfortunately we missed most of them.
System of door opening - not working too fast, sometimes you need to wait some time oudoors to get in.
Location in terms of using metro station - unfortunately the closest metro line is under renovation, which makes it much more difficult to use now - please have it in mind while planning.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Berrocal (6/5): Pleasant - It was a cheap option The location in the city, close to many attractions
- Sam (6/5): Pleasant - The location is absolutely perfect and the bed is very comfortable! The room was quite noisy and it was a bit annoying that you needed to wait quite a while to get back in the hostel, hacing to ring the bell and wait for a while everytime.
- Laura (8/5): A Cozy Stop at B&B Roma Norte! - B&B Roma Norte is a cozy spot for a quick stay. The host was welcoming and made us feel at home, even during our brief visit. We appreciated the experience and hope to return for a longer stay in the future.
- Jack (8/5): Great location + nice staff! - Great location, walkable to many great food spots and attractions. Breakfast was good. Very good security too.
The owner & other staff were very nice and friendly, so was Pingo their cute dog 🐕 Although the security system was very thorough, we really didn’t like the entry system to the property as we had to wait a little a few times before being buzzed in. This is not a reason to avoid staying here however.
- Nicola (10/5): Comfortable stay in a fantastic location - Angel was a fantastic host. He spent a lot of time when we first arrived explaining the local area and places to go which was really helpful. Atziri made us nice breakfasts each morning and cleaned the shared bathroom daily. It would have been great to have mosquito nets on the window in our room.
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (10/5): Central, comfortable place for couples or friends - Super central location, next to a metro station. Staff were very friendly, room was spacious and the free breakfast was so worth it! As two girls we would have appreciated a mirror inside the room but that’s only if we’re being picky :)
- John (7/5): Spacious room with a large private restroom - Large room and bathroom. Plenty of space to hang things and store items. Free drinking water was provided when available. The private restroom was a good size. The location was central to public transit, though the metro was temporarily closed. Earplugs are required because you can hear other guests when they enter the hallway or talk loudly in their rooms. It gets loud at night. Entering the main door or the other floors requires a staff member unlocking the door for you.
- Paola (9/5): Superb - Great location, clean and comfortable, the lady who works there is very nice and always with smile. You have key of room, but you don' have key of apartment and building so you need to ring every time when you return to the room, if it is early or late I feelt uncomfortable. The owner is too official..
- Joss (9/5): Superb -
- Ferdinand (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, 1 block from Metro and Metrobus. Great area with facilities. Super friendly and helpful staff.
- John (7/5): Good - Staff is the best, friendliest, helpful and kind. I just wish they had a newer hotel, but for the price I don't think anything could be done better. Old sheets/bathroom, but it was all well cleaned.
- Arun (8/5): Amazing location and simple home feeling - The staff and the location could not be better. The room was really large. Breakfast was simple but made with care. It was nice to feel like staying in a home while in the middle of the city, close to Reforma and all that Roma has to offer. The bathrooms weren't always very clean and didn't smell great. Some of the lights in our room didn't work well and it felt dark. The sheets and towels were clean but quite old.
- Roman (1/5): Bad - The shared bathroom was not clean enough
The host was very rude to us .
- Yuval (4/5): Bad and unpleasant experience - It was a quiet place The host was very unpleasant guy. He always complained about things that we can't so in his place, like we can not hear music in 20:30 in our room.
- Williams (9/5): Superb -
- Susannah (10/5): Exceptional - Host was very friendly, great location
- Bryan (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Alleya (10/5): Great stay. It is a B&B so we had a shared bathroom, but it was quiet and clean! Overall, wonderful. - Very nice and friendly staff, great location, great value, clean and comfortable. We felt at home here, and the breakfast served was awesome! Check in process was quick and easy, and the building felt very safe and secure.
- Daniel (10/5): Perfect base of exploration for a short stay in Mexico City. - Great location in a safe, cool neighborhood with lots of things to eat nearby. We booked last minute when our flights got rescheduled. Staff was very helpful and made delicious breakfast (different every day); they even made it vegetarian for us on short notice. The bathrooms while technically shared were very clean and convenient with great showers. Overall this had everything we were looking for. Hope to stay here again on our next visit. The policy about no overnight visitors was a bit surprising (communicated via email after we booked, and also on the signage), but it makes sense. Not a negative, just something to be aware of if you are traveling solo and thinking of hitting up the nightlife.
- Fabian (9/5): Superb - Great location and really friendly staff!
- Kathy (5/5): Passable -
- Antoine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ivona (8/5): thank you for making us feel so comfortable and welcomed - the hosts were really lovely and helpful
- Rachel (10/5): So good we went back again! - excellent location, very clean, bedroom was perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was delicious and different every morning. Angel and his family provide a really exceptional service I would have liked a mirror in the bedroom
- Katrina (8/5): Great location, service, and value. - Excellent budget option at the center of Mexico City. Great value, excellent service, very clean, I felt safe.
- Elspeth (9/5): Superb - Owners are so friendly and made us feel really welcome straight away.
Excellent breakfast every morning and always different!
Location is good and very central to explore the city. Room could do with a bit more furnishings like a mirror and hooks for towels, but this is minor.
- Daria (7/5): Good - + A comfortable room&bed, run by an helpful family
(You have breakfast in their apartment) -you always need to wait for them to open the door
- a social/ hangout area is missing, the atmosphere is wired as it's like a apartment in a big block house (not marked as a hotel) with just rooms (very unpersonal)
-loud doors
-expensive for the price
- Tova (10/5): Grest location, kind staff, highly recommend! - Spacious, comfortable room in a fantastic location. Metro is 2 minutes away, city bikes are in front, very walkable and safe neighborhood. Very kind and friendly family running the B&B. They even accommodated me for breakfast since I’m vegetarian. They also gave me great restaurant recommendations. Nothing.
- Srinivas (7/5): cozy place near downtown Mexico City. - it’s located very close to the safe part of Mexico City, near the American embassy, ASC visa processing center, the Independence monument. it is cozy place. No private bathroom. enterance is always manned by staff and is not immediately or privately accessible
Good Breakfast items. staff and service is excellent. WiFi is slow sometimes in case you need to do any heavy duty work.
- Elliott (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great, a quiet and safe area near the main metro and bus lines. The staff were super friendly and helpful, gave us advices about travelling into the city and let us leave our luggage for a few hours after our check out. The room was very big and very clean, great shower and also very good breakfast service! Highly recommended. Nothing, all perfect.
- Bert (10/5): Exceptional - Great hosts. Great shower. Great breakfast. Great location. Great reaction and system on the earthquake our first morning.... In one word: great Nothing.
- Alisa (8/5): Simple, but central and good price/quality - Good location, close to the metro and in a good neighborhood. Very kind and nice reception, they prepared vegan breakfast on request. The room was quite spacious. Not much light in the room and it’s very ascetic, there were no glasses or no small table in the room for example. but for us it was ok, we stayed just 2 nights
- Alston (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): - It is a property in a great location for Mexico City. It is really a small apartment building (1960s?) with a B&B floor. The Family who runs it are great very nice people. It is kept exceptionally clean. It is spartan so don't expect a Hotel experience. Overall great location clean very nice staff.
- Cornelia (9/5): Superb - Delicious breakfast (different every morning), really nice location, lots of restaurants near by, lots of space, very clean the doors are quite loud if you close them (problem at night) but apart from that everything was perfect
- Yurina (9/5): nice stay - They serve Mexican style breakfast every day and it was very nice.
Family manages accommodation and very fast reply and attention to your requests and questions. It would be better if they had outlet each side of the bed instead of center above.
- Zayde (10/5): - Excelentes
- Ádám (10/5): Exceptional - I had an excellent stay at B&B Mexico. Location is perfect, with most major attractions and places to hang out within walking distance. Check-in procedure was smooth, the room was tidy upon arrival and was cleaned every day. The bathroom is shared, but for the price this is acceptable, and the bathroom was clean as well every time I used it. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
The hosts were super friendly - I got a lot of good advice, tips, and whenever I needed something they were happy to assist. I even had some unexpected issues and they helped in sorting it out. Just make sure you follow house rules - check in inside the period provided, don’t try to smoke inside, etc - the basics. I think this is an ideal place for a short stop in Mexico City as well as a longer stay for a solo traveller or a couple as well. -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This B&B is cheap and cheerful - a great place to lay your head. The location is super. Two minute walk to the metro and right in the heart of a great neighbourhood. There is plenty of great atmosphere and places to explore by foot from here.
The interior is clean and the hosts are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good and I didn't feel like I was sharing a bathroom because I never encountered any other users. It's very safe and is continuously under lock and key.
There were two drawbacks for me. The room I was in overlooked the road and it was extremely noisy! There is a bar across the road, and even with earplugs in I felt like the band was at the foot of my bed. It took hours to get to sleep on the Friday night. On the Saturday night I was pleasantly surprised that the music stopped in the bar at about 9pm and didn't restart. The second gripe I had was the drinking water made available to guests. It is contained in a 4 gallon commercial water jug, dispensed from a water cooler and is pointed out on check in as your source for drinking water. Which you assume is filtered bottled water. I filled my water bottle on check out to bring with me for my journey. On the first sip I immediately tasted that this was water from the tap and not safe, for a gringa like me. When I looked at it there was even particles floating around. I was very disappointed by this deception, had I not tasted the difference it could've made me very sick.
- Joseph (8/5): - Clean, friendly and good location. They don't allow visitors for security which if great if you're nervous about saftey. The staff will always be there to open the front door and there when you leave to lock it. Breakfast was great and I was always greeted with a smile. The Bedroom and shared bath was very clean.
- Doug (10/5): - Great little hotel, convenient to the metro. Staff was great and very helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, helpful staff and owners, good bed, good shower, good location, a very good budget option.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice staff, clean and comfortable room. Great value for money. Very good location.
- omar (10/5): Roma Norte experience - Hotel Roma was close to everything! They didnt have a laundry service, but they did have great breakfast.
They had an elevator which was nice.
We did have to ring the door bell for them to come open it and each floor had a digital combination that they didnt provide to us.
So we would wake them everytime we came in late. They were polite, so I guess its good service.
We rented bikes so it was easy to get around town from there
- tj (8/5): Nice hotel closed to main atractions .. - Very clean and quiet. Service was great, staff is very frendly. All restaurants are nearby if you like walking aroud.
- Eric (10/5): Wonderful hosts! - The family who run this B&B went out of their way on more than one occasion to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We only had the breakfast one day since we don't normally eat breakfast, but it was delicious! A more authentic experience than giving our money to some hotel chain. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.
