- judith (7/5): - On a apprécié l'espace, le lit confortable et l'emplacement près du port. Le restaurant à côté était excellent ! Nous sommes habitués au micro-ondes dans la chambre.
- Victoria (5/5): Adequate. - Bed was clean and comfortable. Run-down furniture, carpets stained.
- Sherri (5/5): - Did not eat there....staff was friendly. Vending machine, smoking area, parking.

- TAIMOOR (10/5): - Its an hour away
- Brian (10/5): - Room had 2 double beds, fridge, 3 tables and was quite roomy. Very comfortable stay!!
- Earl (10/5): - We were there during a nearby Wildfire. We had to look else where for meals because the Hotel was helping provide meals for fire fighters.
However, the staff was great. If we are back in the Avalon area next year, our first choice will be Hotel Harbour Grace.
- Jianghua (7/5): Good location with very friendly staff - The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Booked for two double bed, but end up with only having one double bed and the other one being very uncomfortable twin size bed.
- Paul (8/5): - Clean room but poor air conditioning
- Yin (6/5): - No amenities. Very dated in every way, but clean. Beds were not comfortable. No hassle check in or check out. Check in clerk was friendly. The price made it better.
- Jeremy (2/5): - Was not impressed that staff enter the room when the do not disturb sign was on the door while I was gone for the day.
- Jessica (2/5): - Checked into one room, had a smell, was like walking into a sauna and the more we looked around the room the more dirt and stains we found. Checked out immediately and he tried to offer us a 2nd room with air conditioning, still not any cleaner.
- Renee (10/5): - Great staff and helpful
- Jennifer (10/5): 2 day stay - Had a great stay, impressed with the rooms size and options like coffee, microwave and fridge. Very helpful with needed questions or favors.Thank you for a great stay!
- Mike (10/5): will be back next convention good place to sleep - it was good i had a convention to go to in St John no rooms available in St John that i could afford nut found this nice little hitel in Harbour Grace and i really enjoy the friendly host he was very helpful
- Doris (8/5): - Harbour Grace is a lovely place to visit, be sure to have dinner in the Courthouse.
- Radica (10/5): - The property was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Loved the area.
- Rodney (10/5): - Great price, nice staff, comfortable room.
- Donna (2/5): - We stayed for 2 nights. We stayed the first night in the hotel. The room was not dirty, but kind of old and run down. We went out sightseeing and when we got back they told us we had to move next door to the motel for our second night. We were not happy. The woman at the desk said they were trying all day to get a hold of us to let us know that we had to move. No message or phone call came to my phone. Probably because when we checked in, they never asked for ID, what kind of vehicle we were driving, or for a phone number. So when I pointed that out, she then said ,well you were told yesterday that you would have to move rooms after 1 night. We would never have stayed in the first place if we knew we had to pack up all our stuff and carry it all back down the stairs, outside to the next building, and back up more stairs to another room. Also the motel next door was right beside the kitchen and the smell from the grease was brutal. The folks that work there didn't even say we are sorry for the inconvenience, just get your stuff moved . We found out the reason they moved us to the motel from the hotel was so they didn't have to pay someone to be at the front desk during the night. At this place, they grab your credit card quickly to pay, but that is where the smiles and service ends.
- Janet (10/5): Clean and comfortable - It provided everything than a person needs nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable
- Murphy (10/5): -
- Antoinette (8/5): - Room was very clean and we got towels daily, garbage basket emptied. Reception very friendly. Restaurant good. But internet very sporadic and even the tv in the room had to be coaxed to turn on. But we had friends in the area, so we were out a lot. Would recommend for the price.
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Property was clean, beds were comfortable. Very dated, floor in bathroom rotten under lino.
- Tanya (8/5): Very good -
- Bonnie (8/5): It did the job - They don’t open up early enough for breakfast which was disappointing
It was quiet but you could hear cars going by but not many Doors didn’t open until 8:30
- Mitchel (10/5): - Nice hotel overall
- Shirly (8/5): - It was by the harbour which was nice and it had regular cable tv service on the right Newfoundland time.
The bed was comfortable.
Easy check in-check out
- Roy (10/5): - Quiet and convenient. Property could be tended to a bit more.
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Venessa (2/5): Very poor -
- Tom (10/5): - Excellent for what I was looking for and then some… great lounge to wind down in. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow 😊🙏
- Bemister (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable
- Justin (10/5): - Recommend
- Wade (2/5): - I was disappointed completely. There were 2 families in rooms adjacent to mine and they had their children playing in the hallway very loudly. When I asked for them to keep the noise down I was treated as if I was the problem.
Staff were friendly enough but did little to deal with the situation.
I will never recommend this place to anyone
- Kelley (8/5): An old facility, but clean and tidy. Great home cooking at the restaurant. - The restaurant has nice home cooking.
The building, furniture and fixtures are old & worn, but tidy and clean. No smell of must or other odors.
Great water pressure.
- Beverly (9/5): I enjoyed my 1st time there, would return. - Clean, quiet, comfortable, great location. Good breakfast, nice staff . A little dated but clean and comfortable
- Tania (6/5): - Had to pay upfront without seeing the room. Got to the room and it smelled of old damp carpet. Had to empty the dehumidifier and turn it back on, then after a while the smell was lessoned. (Or i got use to it) Then the biggest grandma of a spider darted accross the room! Almost left that moment but didnt. Then went to get a shower and the hot water didnt last no more than 5 mins! Sadly i Wont be back.
- Loretta (5/5): Passable -
- Jason (10/5): - Nice clean place to spend the night it is cool to see the fishing boats across the road staff was great and room was clean
- Kevin (5/5): It's a reasonably basic but comfortable clean room. - Restaurant closed at 7pm
- Tania (8/5): - Booked a hotel but stayed in Motel, the view from our window was the neighbors junkyard, alc slot machines on site but no atm and a brown stain on pillow case.
Staff was friendly.
- Gwenda (8/5): The staff in hotel and restaurant were great. The room was adequate for our stay. - Spacious room and close to historic markers. Somewhat run down, some maintenance needs to happen.
- M.e. (9/5): The place was excellent, what a great view! - The place was excellent, what a great view!
Loved the space outside with BBQ and fire pit. there was nothing what we didn't like.
- Norskier (5/5): Adequate hotel, but old and somewhat dirty - It was in a good location for us. It was near the water. The towels and bathroom were basically clean. This is an older tired building with outdated furniture and decor. It has an older building smell to it. The carpet was dirty.
- Joseph (8/5): OK 3-star h.otel where the outside doesn't reveal what's inside - The hotel didn't look like much from the outside but the room was large and had a microwave, fridge, table and desk. It was clean and the beds were fine although one mattress was a bit soft in our two-bedded room. It's an ok 3-star hotel. It is on the waterfront opposite a ship cleaning facility. That was ok it didn't produce much noise. There wasn't much else around the hotel although we could walk about five minutes to an ok Chinese restaurant that advertised a buffet but didn't have one.
- cheyanne (10/5): - Wonderful experience
- Gordon (5/5): Needs work. - This Hotel needs some serious upgrades.
Being the only place in town it has potential but needs some work
- Ford And Harriet (10/5): - Good
- Zhigang (4/5): - No AC in summer
- Brenda (6/5): - Priced good and clean. Lacked air conditioning, no hair dryer, cold water wasn’t functional in tub and unable to close curtains
- Orland (5/5): The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the price very reasonable. The staff were helpful. - Breakfast was good. Location made it easy to find, For those wanting a nostalgic trip back to the sixties, this is the place. With the exception of a modern tv, nothing would seem out of place for a sixties motel. Surprised that there was no soap in the bathroom. Expect this was just a miss by the staff and not a regular practice.
- David (6/5): - Very outdated and dirty property. Little housecleaning aside from making the beds. Floors were very dirty with many stains. Many bugs in the room and front office. Leaky fridge. Garbage under bed. The worst part was the smell from the room and hallway. Probably one of the worst places I have stayed. If I paid $75 a night, it wouldn’t be a big deal. But when you pay $140/night, you expect a lot more.
- Kayla (4/5): - Said was free breakfast but doors to the hotel area was locked and lights off also nowhere to return key to
- Monica (8/5): - Staff was courteous and responsive in this historic hotel. Decor is dated but beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Good value for money and located in a very interesting historic village.
- Kathleen (9/5): Modest town, close to many interesting sites - The room was large, quiet, well lit. Fridge and microwave were unexpected and welcome. Restaurant. Comfortable beds. Close to lovely historic neighborhood. Staff is too modest to promote that Amelia Earhart stayed at the hotel when she visited Harbour Grace, despite her visit being highly publicised here.
- Elaine (8/5): - Window blinds broken at time of check in …they did come and replaced them. Grounds around need mowing . Parking area needs some repairs of holes
- Connie (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was excellent. No microwave in the room
- Antony (6/5): Pleasant - Room size Staff not helpful when checking in,unable to find booking, coffee machine ok no good for tea drinkers. Didn't feel secure - one key for front door + room - could open any room?
No main light only little side lights, room quite dark and dated. Old 70's room smell
- Beverley (2/5): Will never stay here again. This place is very dated and needs a complete overhaul! - The shower was good and was the best thing about the room. Booked Queen Room with Air Conditioning and on arrival was told there was no AC, only fans. Why then when we were going to leave as it was 30 degrees outside did they decide to put us in an “upstairs double room” with AC. Upon entry to the room we heard the water in the flush box was running away….who knows how long. The old carpeting was stained and dirty both inside and outside the room. Saw some rocks/pebbles on the floor too. Plugged in c-pap machine by the bed, but the outlet did not work so had to move it to the other side. Windows definitely needed replacing or at least a cleaning. Some slats were missing from the vertical blinds and some were cut off to accommodate the AC.
- Erin (5/5): Functional - Friendly staff, location No air conditioning, room was stale smelling and dated.
- Brent (10/5): - Very quiet right next door to the harbor. Beautiful older homes a short from the inn. Staff was excellent as well as the food.
- Mario (8/5): - No issues
- Roman (7/5): Normal -
- Maurice (7/5): Good -
- Thordis (4/5): - .
- Marianne (8/5): - The facility is a bit outdated : water damaged in the bathrooms, desperately needs a reno and air conditioning but an extra fan was provided as it was unusually warm. Otherwise the facility was okay and we did have a good sleep.
- Louise (10/5): - The Building is unique we had an awesome night
- Albert (6/5): Baring the issues of no view and motel verses Hotel it was a clean and met our needs - Breakfast was good Booking stated an Ocean view in the Harbour Grace Hotel.....however there was NO Ocean view ( had a view of some ones backyard) and we were located in the motel adjacent to the hotel. NOT what was advertised, so a little disappointed. Also having breakfast included would have been nice.
- Aline (8/5): - Lots of steps, No elevator (not for people with walking disabilities)
- Ken (10/5): Love the attractions there the museum, their fisheries there to see how they operate - We love the fact that had a restaurant there, and the rooms were clean and updated Same
- Willman (1/5): Bad -
- Peter (7/5): Good - Restaurant closed when we went for breakfast June 22
- Julie (6/5): - Old but clean
- Dan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stephen (8/5): - very good view outside ocean.
a little bit noisy
- John (4/5): - Room smells
- Margaret (10/5): - Staff were friendly great restaurant and lounge on site
- Adam (8/5): - the room was good, but the hall way has some kind of smell, the lady staff in the morning was very nice..
- Roman (8/5): - A great place to stay if you wish to explore this part of the island, beautiful countryside, close to many locations. The hotel is quite and a clean.
- michael (6/5): - It was ok. Pricey. For. What it is. Small. Old. Hotel
- Joshua (4/5): - I don’t know where to start!! The room: The room and it’s contents were very old. Very very old. It smelled of mold and mildew. There was what looked like, black mold in the bathroom. We took pictures. Unfortunately, we had to leave the room before 7:00am because of my partners asthma. There wasn’t anyone on the front desk when we went to check out. The front door was locked. We had to return the key later in the morning.
The Dining Room: Ted waited over an hour for our order. The food was tasty and the portions were great. The poor waiter was run ragged. He was serving 7 separate tables himself. Nice guy though.
And, I noticed that the kitchen staff were the same persons who worked the front desk when we checked in. Strange place. Won’t return. I expected a bit more for 125$.
- Sara (5/5): Comfortable but not worth money. Old but clean - They charged me additional $15 for my pet! But it was not mentioned anywhere!
- Joseph (10/5): - Friendly Staff want to help and the onsite restaurant has full service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Kerri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janis (5/5): Ok. - Not open until 8:30 am. Too late for people in Town on business Bathrooms outdated. No hair dryer.
- Geraldine (6/5): - It was a beautiful room and clean but it had carpet which gave the room a musty smell, and the chair had something stains on it,it could use a microwave, other then that it was a really nice room and i would stay there again
- John (8/5): - It is an older building but was clean and included anything we might need ie: a fan because of no air conditioning. The food at the dining room was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating! The price was reasonable as well!
- Douglas (6/5): - We were situated in the Annex (Motel) part of the property which was not an issue but the phones were not working so for any questions we had to go to the front desk.
The restaurant closed at 7PM on Friday night which we were not expecting and there were no others open in the immediate area.
- Sue (8/5): Perfect location to take advantage of the harbor. Quaint small town - Location was perfect, harbour view. everything was good nothing to deter us from staying again
- Cynthia (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff, charming old area and building. Rooms were clean, although dated. Bit dated.
- Mariangela (5/5): Passable - People , staff and location Stairs
- Bram (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (4/5): - You get what you pay for...cheap. Enough said!
- Dalton (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable beds, friendly staff and a restaurant that offers a delicious home cooked meal. Great value
