Guest Reviews
- Julien (7/5): Pleasant stay in a picturesque place, but not up to modern standards - - good location
- nice garden & outdoor facilities (pool, gym,…)
- clean and comfortable bedding - only 1 bathroom (in a property rated for 8 guests!)
- outdated kitchen equipment, barely enough cutlery for 5 guests, we could not get the oven running
- unreliable wifi
- host did not speak a word of English
- Helena (10/5): -
- Amy (10/5): Peace and quiet in beautiful Teror - Lovely peaceful retreat. Friendly hosts. Will definitely return.
- John (10/5): We ended up cooking in the evenings as most restaurants were closed after 5pm during our stay .Very enjoyable holiday ho - Beautiful spacious property with immaculate large gardens .A five minute walk into the centre of Teror with very secure gated off-road parking Friendly and helpful host. A little chilly some days in January so the heating was much appreciated. Nothing
- Angel Marcos (9/5): - Wonderful and very beautiful place.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Beautiful spot for a memorable stay - Beautiful home and property, great location. Perfect for our group trip Nothing!
- Karl Edvin (8/5): -
- Tracey Lee (10/5): Beautiful peaceful villa & gardens location in the old mountain village of Teror. - Incredibly well kept beautiful house & gardens with a lovely sympathetic owner & friendly hard working staff, keeping the place in perfection the whole time. Wish we could have used the fabulously clean & cared for swimming pool, but it was a very cold & wet November this year in the north mountains of GC. Only something that is not fault of the owner - it was very cold & wet for the most of the time we where there end of November, I did not realise how high altitude the town was & that made a big difference in temperature from 30 minutes down the mountain. But no one can control the weather!
- Christophe (9/5): Oase in den Bergen - Die Ruhe und die schöne Anlage, toller Gastgeber Nichts
- Sjoerd (8/5): -
- Leo (10/5): - lovely garden and pool. easy walk in to Teror and food shops
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Gardens and location, great house, very peaceful location Teror is a great location to explore the traditional canaries and warm welcoming local people the Sunday market has a wonderful selection of local breads, pastries,, cakes, meat and cheese selections plus local made gifts the butchers and Hyperdino has all your needs and very well priced lots of wineries and Rum distillery with in easy distance to visit Highly recommended for a great peaceful week away
- Kathryn (9/5): Beautiful setting, very comfortable bed. - Very comfortable accommodation. The bed was fantastic! The central heating was lovely and warm in mid-March as the nights were cold. The garden at the property is beautiful. Teror is a lovely small town. A shame that you have to walk through the sitting room from the bedroom to get to the bathroom. there was not always enough hot water for 2 showers in the morning.
- Nathan (8/5): A great base for the centre and north in a cosy Canarian cottage with stunning gardens - Truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. The garden is unbeatable—like others have said, a real paradise. House was cosy. Most things I needed were provided. Shower water was never warm and in 5 days no staff came in to clean or replenish things like the coffee pods/tea/towels, etc. In this way the room was more like an AirBnB, which I wasn't expecting.
- Nina (10/5): Breathtaking place - The accommodation has everything both charm, cleanliness, atmosphere and the host was absolutely fantastic. If you want an overnight stay in a house and surroundings that takes your breath away, at a good price, then do not hesitate to book at this place. We lived in the home of 40 m2.
Short distance to the city center and shopping nothing could be better
- Martine (10/5): A piece of Canarian heritage set in a beautiful garden, the ultimate in relaxation. - A piece of tranquil paradise 10 mins walk from the beautiful town centre of Teror. Everything so thoughtfully curated inside and out. Owner very hospitable. Everything perfect as far as I am concerned.
- The_girl_wanderer (10/5): A beautiful garden villa hidden in the town of teror - The place is like a mini botanical garden with the greenery and some species only found in the island. Despite the aesthetic being like a traditional canarian home with walls made of stone and huge hard wood beams on the ceiling, everything was functional and not just pretty. We liked having different areas to hang out not just our cottage. There is a nice bbq area and pool area where we played card games listening to the sound of the small waterfall feature on the side and the birds. the place was clean and there was a massive masters bedroom (could be another apartment minus the toilet). All rooms have bug TVs that you can easily connect to your phone to stream. There are two massive wardrobes and a safe. All bedrooms can be locked. The decor was so nice. Made us feel like we were in a different era. There is a mini supermarket nearby and a local churros place with a view. In town is a perfume shop famous in gran canaria with some unique scents
.Their factory is in teror but they are all over las palmas. It was a walking distance to the teror town where we enjoyed the farmer's market last sunday. Very pretty place. Like in most island homes, landmarks are quite far in between. We chose this place as we did not want to stay in the city centre but las palmas was just 20 min drive away. There is a big mercadona 12 min in the entrance of the road up to teror. If you like driving with scenery then this is a good place. I wish i took more photos of the place. The staff were amazing and very helpful and warm. They gave us suggestions and gave us some local advice especially with the weather. We had a lovely time. Thank you We liked everything.
We were a group of 6 so 1 shower in our villa was a bit tricky. Another one in the building should be great. However , there is another shower area near the pool. We were just too lazy to go out especially late at night.
- Beata (9/5): We intend to stay at Casa Rural El Borbullon on our next holiday on Gran Canaria. - We were looking for a self-catering location with a pool in quiet surroundings. Casa Rural provided just what we hoped for. It is set in just under an acre of beautifully maintained gardens featuring many specimen palms and other trees, including lemon and orange. Nearby, they have a professionally constructed brick BBQ with lighting for nighttime use.
The centre of Teror town has a fine supermarket and an excellent butcher, and, as a bonus, they are within easy walking distance. However, for a "big shop," the Dino has a free carpark. We stayed at Casa Rural over the New Year and January and the weather was very kind with lots of suntanning opportunities. But the pool was a bit too chilly for us. If you are from Finland, you would love it. Ha Ha!
- Brian (10/5): Would love to come back for leisure. - Everything, only stayed 3 of the 5 nights booked due to work commitments. Nothing.
- Raducus (10/5): Exceptional - The property is very very nice, clean and comfortable. The garden is like a botanical garden. Nothing really.
Just make sure you know where you're going. Teror is lively during the day but restaurants close around 17h when tourists leave. It is also located in the northern part of the island, so the weather is not always sunny especially out of season; it may rain and the temperatures are lower than the south. But it is a great base to explore the island if you're going there for hiking.
- Alexandra (10/5): Pure bliss - The property was beautiful! Peaceful and green with lots of different areas to enjoy the space outside. Our room was also lovely - cosy cottage vibes with clean and well kept facilities, and a very comfy bed!
- Marianne (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning house in a beautiful location. We were so lucky to find this property by chance after our previous booking was cancelled. The house and gardens are immaculate, it is obvious a lot of love has gone into maintaining them. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the old photographs and decor gave it such an enchanting feel. The pool and seating areas were superb, particularly when lit up at night. We felt so comfortable and well looked after, everything about our stay was perfect and we can't wait to go back.
- Paden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (10/5): Could not have been better. Impressive. - Absolutely beautiful and well cared for. We liked everything.
- Ali (10/5): Beautiful house - a unique gem - traditional house full of beautiful furnishings with grounds that are better than the botanical gardens! the house has lots of space, everything we needed, it is more like a boutique hotel than a holiday rental!
- Nola (9/5): We stayed here 6 nights. The location is near to the center of Teror but also not far from other nic - We liked everything. The property, location and host.
- Teresa (8/5): Very good - full of character, lovely gardens, quiet and peaceful we were unlucky with the weather and it was rather cold as the upper floor is open to the air. lovely in summer no doubt!
- Marie (10/5): A magical oasis - The accommodation, the gardens, location all awesome Nothing,it was a little paradise
- Ieva (10/5): The best in Teror!!! - We stayed 6 days and it was the best choice! Teror is a beautiful town and Casa Rural El Burbullon is def the best place to stay in Teror. The owner was super nice and helpful! Casa was super clean and very well decorated, close to town centre but also private enough to gave us feeling of private paradise. .
- Catherine (10/5): comfortable home from home. - gorgeous property with a beautiful garden.
lovely outside spaces for sitting out or dining out.
very spacious sitting room
great TV with Netflix set up
nice modern bathroom even through the rest of the house was very traditionally furnished.
comfortable bed
well equipped kitchen with a ferocious gas hob. nothing to dislike, although the address on this website isn’t accurate, so had a little difficulty finding it initially.
- Antony (9/5): Superb - Beautiful gardens and home. Very tranquil. lots of outdoor dining areas. Nice pool.
- Sultan (9/5): Beautiful, serene and relaxing. Very clean and cosy. We had a wonderful time there and would definitely stay there again - Beautiful, serene and relaxing. very clean and cosy.
- Chrissie (8/5): Beautiful property in authentic little town. - We had an Easter break in this charming rustic stone building with open-plan sitting/dining/kitchen areas on the ground floor and a spacious bedroom (up 3 steps). The apartment is attractive and well equipped. There's a very comfortable 6' bed, lots of storage, dvd player, a large shower cubicle and wc. The property is set within beautiful tropical gardens with several secluded areas for dining or sun bathing by the clean pool. Nice touches were fresh flowers, towelling robes, a drinks trolley (with honesty box) and a change of linen midway through our stay. There were occasional problems with hot water and heating in the evenings and we would have appreciated a modest welcome pack and information regarding local amenities and opening times over the Easter holiday.
Arriving in Teror late at night we were unable to find the property (mainly due to the road not being signed and having a no-entry sign!!) and after more than an hour driving around in the dark, we were escorted by the kindly owner of the local petrol station.
Teror (8 min walk) is a delightfully authentic town high up in the hills and has many pavement bars, cafes and restaurants (favourites were Como Como and El Encuentro. The Sunday market (9-3) was colourful with many stalls offering local produce, gifts and snacks and we enjoyed watching the locals dancing to the music in the square. Our favourite place to visit was Puerto de las Nieves on the NW coast - a car is essential for exploring the island.
- antony (8/5): A beautiful place to stay for a short break - Strange to see places like this on hotel.com as it has only 2 units and is very much a self catering set up, we was a bit unlucky when we were there in that the weather was not too good so didn't get to use the pool or large tented area around it which is set in lovely grounds, as a base this place worked well but expect the town to be very quite off season, the owners were very helpful and the unit (1bed) we stayed in was very well equipped and hard to fault, with good off street parking a car is a must is you wish to explore the area, I expect it works best if both units are rented together as it could be awkward if you didn't get on with the other guests, but for a group of friends or large family in the summer this place would be a dream and hard to fault for the money
